It's the results that are unreliable. Because science is malleable, and grows. So, science can 100% be wrong and often is. But, if following actual scientific principles, it is true. For that moment in time. The operative part of the quote is the belief... and there I cannot disagree. Belief is not a part of the pursuit of knowledge, even a justified true belief can be false so he is right to disregard it.
Thus, I think you posted this in the right thread! It is a bullshit statement that sounds smarter than it is, much like NDG when he talks about things he knows nothing about.
I like him too. In his circle, I am an idiot. Does not make him a genius in mine or yours

I think my problems with that statement - beyond how unqualified and broad it is, for something, which few people understand the nature of -, are threefold: 1: That a lot of things that are very far from science are sometimes claimed to be "science", for purely ideological reasons, particularly lately. 2: A lot of "science" outside of the hard physics can go sloppy, possibly again for ideological reasons. A lot of peer reviewed studies and research results, which have formed the basis for conclusions, even used in policies and education, have turned out to never have been repeated or not be successfully repeatable. While this mostly concerns "suspect" fields like sociology, economy and psychology, there have also been scandals in medicine. 3: The bigger "Truths", higher "Truths", which only the scientific method can lead us to, are much different than smaller, binary truths, which people are used to as 'truth'. Maybe the bigger truths should have had a different word than truth, but language never had time to figure out that. Science is a new thing after all. What I mean by that, is that science is not reality, but a map to reality. "Truth" is something that relates to a purpose: Going from A to B. If navigating by the "map" gets you to B, it's "true". But it's still only a map, and there will always be things which are not marked on that map.
