Forget Me Nots

This is going to break you a little inside but I haven't seen either.

(And I love Nolan. Interstellar is my current #1 movie of all time.)

If it doesn't have swords, dragons, or spaceships in it I have to be in a very specific mood to watch it.

Also I hate needles.

Aw man, BSG, so many good memories but here's a little story:

I came to the series pretty late but I'll never forget the first time I saw the pilot mini series. I had a copy of it, which I got from a friend (don't tell anyone ) on my laptop but I really had no idea what it was. Somehow, I managed to be completely oblivious to the whole thing.

Now, this was crazy, so bear with me on this: It was the day before I was traveling home to my parents' place just before Christmas and I had to get myself signed in for an appointment for the final exam in my undergrad studies early the next year. This was super important because I couldn't mess up the timing for various reasons, it would have derailed everything I wanted to do in the next year. When I wanted to sign myself up, the secretary there told me that I had a report for a practical course missing. I realized, that I had somehow forgotten about that report for a course that happened about a half a year ago and so I frantically spent the entire night writing a 20 page report about something that happened months ago. In the morning, I printed the dam thing, went to the head of that class I had the course in, apologized for the late notice, gave him the report and asked him if could correct it right away because I needed to sign up for my exam on that very day. Fortunately, this was a cool guy, so he did it. I was waiting there for about 45 minutes, while he went through that thing that I had just produced, worried because it was basically a first draft. Then he comes out, gives me the report back and says something like - and I am not kidding - "this is probably one of the best prac reports I have ever seen." I went back to that secretary, signed in for the exam, crisis averted and I got on the train to travel home for 2 weeks of Christmas vacation.

On that 6 hour train ride with nothing to do anymore, I opened my laptop and found this folder "Battlestar Galactica". So I figured I might as well watch that and what do you know, there I was, on the train, watching the entire mini series, just 6 hours of absolutely stunning science fiction.

I think that whole sense of relief I still had in my mind after that ordeal being over is somehow intermixed with the BSG plot now and so this is now one of my favorite shows of all time.

So yea, in light of that, maybe I wouldn't want BSG deleted from my head because the way I first experienced it was pretty much perfect.
