I would prefer if more games included polyamory, such as Pathfinder: Kingmaker with Octavia and Regongar.
And why there are only straight couples?

I suppose, anyone from Greedfall would qualify, as companions were clear representatives of their factions (same for the previous Spiders' games with varying amounts of rivalry).
Also most of LIs in Mass Effect would fight if romanced at the same time and were relevant to the story.
The romanceable NPCs in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic could not stand each other and were unavoidable.
Ladykiller in a Bind is a VN, but one of the endings features a successful polygamous relationship.

And I'd like to point out that companions in DA2 were bisexual, not straight (or gay).

The love triangle between Male Exile with Handmaiden and Visas is way better than Atton/Disciple, including a catfight. That would have been my vote.

Dawn Star or Silk Fox? That's a tough call, but Kelly Hu so.

Nice!  I'm glad others remember the interaction between Casavir and Bishop.  I personally liked Casavir and Atton out of those 2 romances.  TBH Neverwinter Nights 2 is very underrated right now for its storyline.  NWN2 and MOTB were 2 of the best stories I've ever had in RPGs and really knew how to develop romantic relationships or make you care about the characters.  This was all continued with DA and ME series, but NWN2 really started it.

Same sex mods have been a thing in BioWare games forever. Literally since their games could be modded. These are some of the most popular mods out there, and guess what Bucko - you don't have to download or install any of them.

You are talking about a video game character. In someone else's version of their copy of the game, that you don't ever have to see or play.
