I'm also looking forward to Dragon Age 4 even though with so little information available its a foolish thing to get ones hype up. But as the only upcoming RPG with a big name.... FFS HYPE!

Going by my Steam wishlist for things that may or may not release this year.
Games I'm actually REALLY looking forward to are very few: Greedfall 2 Hellblade 2
Avowed (maybe, the trailer didn't actually excite me at all)
Yeah that's it actually, lol. 2024 isn't looking particularly exciting to me. Dreadwolf I'm just curious about but expect it to be terrible tbh. Or maybe rather mediocre and bland. So I'm not actually looking forward to it
A few smaller games on my radar that look promising but I will need to see more info on and check reviews: Banishers Tiny Glade Endzone 2 Enshrouded
Excited about stuff without official release date: Clockwork Revolution Light No Fire
To a lesser degree: Forever Skies (full release) Derelicts Blind Descent
Not a single AAA among them, hmmm.

I’m actually looking forward to Outlaws in spite of it being Ubisoft, and I’m growing a bit warmer to Indiana Jones. My expectations are pretty low, but it’s tickling the nostalgia center of my brain.

Menace (PC 2024)
Just became aware of this new upcoming game from Indie dev Overhype Studios, looks interesting.
"Command a strike force of marines, mercenaries, and criminals in a distant system, cut off from the Core Worlds. At the lawless frontier, the Wayback system is controlled by pirate warlords, questionable corporations, and fractured planetary governments who struggle for a new order. Though you initially lead your strike force of marines from aboard the strike cruiser TCRN Impetus, you'll quickly need to unite the disparate locals under your leadership to defeat an unknown threat. Fielding tanks, mechs, and infantry squads with a massive selection of equipment to choose from, you’ll train your troops, plan out operations, and engage in deadly tactical battles."

Looking forward to Outcast 2 on March 12th (hope I can finish BG3 before then ). I am not 100% that it will be an obejectively great game but I love the first one and everything I've seen so far, I like. Also looking forward to Horizon: Forbidden West but I doubt I'll play it right on release. Don't think I'll finish Outcast 2 in time and also I am going on a trip the day after its release. I am also thinking, I should play the first part again before going for the second, so I'll put it off for a bit but certainly, I am looking forward to playing it eventually. Horizon on PC was one of my highlights of the decade, and even though I don't think FW will quite match it's story (you can't pull this thing twice I think), it's still gonna be great. Otherwise, there is not so much up this year for me, I think. If Star Wars Outlaws arrives this year, that'll be in my wheelhouse, so I am curious about that. Banishers apparently was a really nice story game as well. Ghost stories are not so much my thing but maybe I'll give it a try if I have some room later in the year. And maybe there'll be a few more things announced in the summer, we'll see...

I couldn't run it at all. My PC was too weak, I think. I have the new one wishlisted, not sure it's my kind of thing though since I don't even know what the first one was like. Banishers is from the studio that made Vampyr, right? Loved that game, except for the AWFUL difficult combat. Storytelling was solid. Will buy at some point for a discount. Heard good things about it. Currently debating whether or not to buy Enshrouded already. I don't buy Early Access games. But damn the base building looks phenomenal! Wouldn't want to lose all my progress though. There is no advantage to playing any game in EA over the full release, if there is a full release at all. But I'm very very tempted. Itching for a new base building game. I hate grind though. Nightingale seems like a hot mess so I definitely won't be buying that one any time soon, sorry Aaron Flynn.

From what I heard combat is ok in Banishers but the storytelling is supposed to be really good in this one. Sounded like it was a definite step up from Vampyr.

OK, so you all know that I'm anticipating Forbidden West in a week...and later this year STAR WARS Outlaws, but you can now also add to that list Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut coming out May 16th.
Right now, it's a tie between Forbdden West and Ghost of Tsushima as to which of those two titles I'm more excited for.

Whoops, posted in the wrong thread. Somehow, I am confused by this thread. :DWill copy it to the right one. Been playing my first 15 hours of Outcast: A New Beginning. Very fun so far, if you are ok with AA games. The best news about this game is that they kept the general vibe and the appeal of the story and characters very close to the original. The dialogues still have that same quirkiness to them, which is fun. I guess it comes across as a little oldschool these days but I like it nonetheless. Graphics are pretty decent for AA but what really makes this game shine is the world design. You really get the sense that you are moving through a lush alien environment. And moving through it is pretty fun, thanks to the jetpack, which lets you multijump, hover, zip above the ground and also adds a wingsuit to glide with. It can be a little frustrating at the very beginning when you haven't upgraded anything yet because only one or two charges is not really enough to get you anywhere but I recommend just upgrading battery power for it as soon as possibel. Once you have 4 (or all 5) of the charges, you are very mobile and movement is a lot of fun.
Speaking of upgrades, this is my biggest criticism for now: Unlike the original Outcast, this one has a lot of Ubisoft formula added on top of the story. There are heaps of quest markers for a bunch of repeating side activities (conquering enemy bases, two types of parkour trials, etc.) and each of them gives you resources for upgrades of your skills and equipment (there are like 10 different menus for all this). IMO it's a bit much but hey, at least the world looks good and is fun to move around in, so to me, it's fine. Just be aware, if you don't like this kind of map marker work in other games, this might get on your nerves.
Quick word on the UI, I already mentioned all the upgrade menus but visually, they are ok. What I don't like is there very weird idea of a quest log, which is completely integrated into the map. You click on one of the settlements, then you see the quests for that settlement and can go into different subquests. It's a bit convoluted IMO. On the positive side, one really nice thing is their glossary. The world of Adelpha has quite a large native vocabulary (just like it did in the first game). Now, when people talk to you, you can press shift and it will automatically show you the explanations of all the native terms the guy you are talking to uses in this sentence. Very convenient. Speaking of dialogue, voice over is pretty decent in english, animations are AA (so there are repeating gestures, etc) but I think it's good enuogh for immersion. Special shoutout to the music, which feels like an updated version of the very nice score form the first game (I think it was the same composer).
Performance is pretty good. My PC is not the latest model but it runs this fine. There seems to be a bit of a memory leak though. After a couple of hours of playing, performance will go down. Restarting the game helps. There are a lot of cutscenes which are all in 30FPS and once that memory leak kicks in they can stutter a bit. I also had 2 crashes in 16 hours. Hopefully, they'll patch it. I have seen worse games on release day for sure though.
All in all, it's a fun ride so far. Particularly if you liked the first one (or it's 2017 remake) you'll have fun here, too.
