There seems to be a bug in the hag fight. I beat it in my first try (even though I was only level 3 and hadn't taken a long rest in a while!) but at the end the game picked my last selected character for the dialogue instead of my avatar. I hate controlling party members during dialogue, so I started the fight over... only for the same thing to happen again. So not only do I have to beat the hag, I have to make sure my character is selected when her health runs low  |

There seems to be a bug in the hag fight. I beat it in my first try (even though I was only level 3 and hadn't taken a long rest in a while!) but at the end the game picked my last selected character for the dialogue instead of my avatar. I hate controlling party members during dialogue, so I started the fight over... only for the same thing to happen again. So not only do I have to beat the hag, I have to make sure my character is selected when her health runs low Auto-dialogues at the end of fights sometimes pick the nearest party members if the leader (1st) is a certain distance away compared to others, it's not based on who is selected. In fact, there is a setting to auto select the lead and it change nothing to that situation.

Lots of people have broken 3rd act (broken plot flags) and I'm now wondering if respeccing Origins isn't responsible (beside the save size issues fixed yesterday). I only respecced Shadowheart to a War Cleric, but since she's a bit buggy:
- Her initial conversation doesn't bring the close up anymore, but after picking a dialog option things are ok
- I had some issue with a conversation flag, but I fixed it by reloading leaving her in camp, bringing her back and doing the conversation
I hope nothing else gets broken. Larian did warn about respeccing them.

These stats are just ridiculous. 88 years in character creation.  I don't get Cleric being so low thought, War Cleric, Tempest, and Light Clerics are great options and you can never have enough of Spirit Guardians...  And the save space issues everywhere. I already reduce the amount of autosaves/quicksaves from the original amount because it was just too much to navigate. 10 of each is enough. |

I'm not quite done with Act 2, but I'm spending more time thinking about my next character than what is going to happen to my current one.
I was thinking going Paladin, but I get negative reaction to class popularity.
Now my problem is that I want a high Strength character, but beside Paladin my choices are basically Barbarian, heavy armor Clerics or Ranger Knight or play drunk (aka using the hill giant elixir all the time, luckily they stay on until a long rest).
Playing drunk might have some RP favor. Especially as a monk. hmmm.

A lot of this is social media picking up on one tweet by a dev and then blowing it out of all proportion. And now commentators in the gaming media have picked up on that, so are producing click-bait titles to get views, blowing up the faux-outrage even more. BG3 isn't going to create a new paradigm, isn't going to stop loot boxes and paid cosmetic DLC and Larian have never even hinted that what they were doing is transformative. It's a great game with excellent publicity and some dev companies will try to pivot to get so of that vibe. But that's it. Storm in a teacup.

And now commentators in the gaming media have picked up on that, so are producing click-bait titles to get views, blowing up the faux-outrage even more. BG3 isn't going to create a new paradigm, isn't going to stop loot boxes and paid cosmetic DLC and Larian have never even hinted that what they were doing is transformative. It's a great game with excellent publicity and some dev companies will try to pivot to get so of that vibe. But that's it. Storm in a teacup. I never clicked on the links I just saw the search results, but I remember a similar thing with Elden Rim. |

It's weird, this is the first fantasy crpg in a long time that I haven't played a Paladin (or equivalent) first time around. It's amusing that more and more people are now playing them. Yeah me too. In every rpg I've played if they're available I pick Paladin. But I really wanted to play as a Drow sorcerer. I did create a human paladin but I left him on the beach. |

These stats are just ridiculous. 88 years in character creation.  I don't get Cleric being so low thought, War Cleric, Tempest, and Light Clerics are great options and you can never have enough of Spirit Guardians... I think Cleric being so low also has something to do with Shadowheart - the game gives you a Cleric right away, so a lot of players will be put off making their own even though a party with two different Cleric builds can be incredibly powerful. I've finally got Halsin now, but I spent a lot of time with Shadowheart in the early game and she never trod on the toes of my Dwarf War Cleric, role-wise.

So, I suppose you guys have all seen the bear scene from the release showcase, right? It wasn't that long ago when everyone was getting their panties in a twist over whatever it was that Mass Effect was supposed to have done. Weird how times change. Not particularly. It was the conservative sections of society going on about the Mass Effect sex thing (Fox News, amirite) and it's the part of the conservative section of the internet that were annoyed about ... various aspects of BG3, the bear sex scene just one of it. I believe 4 chan and steam forums have various accusations of BG3 being ... "woke". Time's have changed insomuch as the debate has been framed differently, but I don't know if it's that different. Remember it took 2 months before news about sex being in Mass Effect ended up on Fox's desks, and BG3 has only been out for a few weeks. It was also 15 years ago. Something must be going wrong - or maybe right - with my social media feeds. I haven't actually encountered any BG3 outrage. But you're right that it's too early to tell. Maybe another satanic panic - Absolute panic? - is right around the corner.
