Baldur's Gate III - Non Spoiler Edition

Awesome character!

I actually really loved how NWN messed with your dialogue when your INT went too low. I vividly remember dealing with that when fighting the Chapter 1 boss. He cursed me during the fight, dropping my INT super low, and I had to go through the entire chapter-ending dialogue talking like a moron. It was hilarious! 

As far as I can tell, there's nothing in the 5E PHB or DMG that states that low intelligence impacts any language functions. I believe there are some spells that automatically succeed if a creature's INT is 2 or lower, but the lowest a PC's INT can be even when rolling for stats is 3. Some cursory internet research reveals that some DMs impose their own penalties (for example, INT < X means your character can speak but can't read or write), but those are all house rules. Since BG3 doesn't let you go lower than 8 in any stat, the lowest you can go is slightly below average for INT. A D student, if you will. Definitely capable of communicating appropriately in most situations.
