Daud surviving in Dishonored is the canon they're using in the second game (like Emily surviving). So they could use him again. They might use Delilah. They did the surprising thing by showing players the opposite side of the story. They could do the same again. Never thought about it, but it'd definitely be interesting. And she has powers too.

...is told within the main game. Conservatory, Stillton's house, Grand Palace + Outsider's comments pretty much cover the whole story. I've got to Corvo's house yesterday. Damn you, Arkane! I almost cried. That bitter-sweet nostalgic flavour they had set for his PT is amazing. I had not expected much from it, to be honest. Was going to grab some achievements and (may be) hear some of his backstory, but this?... I'm surprised to see how different it feels and looks compared to Emily's while following the exactly same script! I'm not even sure which one is better by this point, love both of them. That's what games with interchangable PCs should be (mage/non-mage Hawke, multiracial Inquizitor etc). Same, but yet completely different because of all those carefully crafted tiny bits, pieces and details.

I made a discovery and a glitch happened during the Addermire mission. The glitch was mild; I shot a sleep dart at a overseer ransacking someone's home and ducked out of sight. I expected him to slump down. Instead, I heard a loud thump, as if he had fallen off something which was impossible. I looked and he wasn't there! Really? He fell through the floor? I looked around and found him snoring away at the other side of the room. The floor he had been standing on had apparently rejected his landing and kicked him aside. The discovery. Saving the prisoner who would have been shot by the elite guard. This happened on my first PT. I saved him in the second PT. In the current PT, I was going to do the same again but I decided to try a different way than outright confrontation. Stun mine, I decided. The results varied; planted too late or too slow, he died. Or the second guard spotted the unconscious body of the elite guard; he didn't go in with her which was surprising. Looking around, I found the voice recorder in the other room. Distraction? Turned it on, the two guards come to investigate and they get zapped by the stun mine. I carried it out speedily and waited. To my surprise, music was heard rather than a voice. Nothing happened. The prisoner wasn't shot because the elite guard had apparently changed her mind and walked away. In disbelief, I reloaded and did the same thing. Again, the two guards just walked away. Ok, that is some music that turned the elite guard's murderous intentions. It made my task easier, I just KO-ed them separately. I got a accomplishment from saving the merchant who would have been pushed into the wall of light by the guard in the first part of Addermire. I have never tried it because I didn't think of it. I decided to see if I couldn't save the merchant. It required fast porting the minute the script started rolling and a fast grab of the guard before he could push. He landed neatly through the window above and none of his pals saw me. Merchant was saved.

I've a thought about the audiograph I noted that it's called Jindosh clockworks. Wasn't it said that he created a musical device that made people cry at the academy? No one could duplicate it. Perhaps the audiograph he installed at Addermire was meant to soothe whoever listened to it.

I like the item mechanics and random reaction in this game. Swords They don't just lie there inert like harmless objects after their owners went down. A sword is equally deadly even if no one is wielding it. I've guards that fell on dropped swords on the ground and killed by them when the impact angled the swords up or spun them in arcs. Or guards that staggered and fell at a really bad angle, skewering themselves on their own swords. Long Reach Just because the target is on level ground, he can still be killed when pulled. If the distance is long enough, the potential energy is deadly. Reaction Guards on search who stupidly opened a dumpster full of bloodflies and dying to them. Murderous intent overturned by music. A overseer 30 metres away was about to shoot a trio of civilians for breaking taboo and eating rats was attacked by one when his comrades raised the alarm over missing pals and either ended up shooting himself or was shot by the civilian. I never saw the event, I heard the shot. * I know why I get the vibes that Wyman could be a female. In the reply to Emily's note that she is safe, there're sentences like ; I'm in tears that he won't tell me the location or take me along.
I do not know if it's fair to be this angry with you or if I should instead cry tears of joy that you're still alive.
I hate that the whole world should be between you and me when we should be holding hands. Please be safe or I won't know what to do.If it's a guy, wouldn't he be saying he'd be fighting at Emily's side, or be there to lend his support in her endeavors? Or if he couldn't be at her side, find other ways to help her battle? Wouldn't he perhaps be saying things like he had never believed she was behind the spate of killings, that she would find the evidence to vindicate herself? Wouldn't he be encouraging her to fight for her throne, he would support her decisions? If he gets emotional, I doubt he would be talking about holding hands, crying, and not knowing what to do. The reply seemed to be couched in hysterical relief I'd expect from a woman. If it's not a woman, then he's probably one of those who wring their hands at home while their wives go to war. If it's a woman, I'm rather mixed. I'd prefer that Emily get a good BF. Unfortunately, there are no credible specimens that presented themselves in the story. If anyone is fighting against the Duke, they're women. And the ones fighting Delilah and her witches is the High Overseer and his troops. The regular army, if there's one, do not seem to exist. Unless it's the Grand Guard but they seem more like the local cops and not so educated at that. The empire seem to be empty of a few infrastructures.

Yes! I got the ghost achievement! It was all perfect until the last part. I was puzzled until I realised fighting Delilah's doppelgangers counted since they saw me so I reloaded and went stealthily seeking and knocking them out. Also shadow choked Delilah. I could use a stun mine, I supposed that would work as well but the last fight is always personal.

I find it pretty amusing how defenceless Delilah is when she spawns in. Yeah you can leave a stun mine or in the case of my high chaos run I was just standing there waiting and immediately lopped off her head once she arrived.

One of my cousins just surprised me with this game for Christmas and I can't wait to fire it up. Just in time. They have recently released an additional feature that carry over the powers / bonecharms of Emily / Corvo in PTs. Wow, this will be good. Saves me the trouble of crafting bonecharms. I got two non-corrupt four traits bonecharms off Emily in the last PT. I think I'll play Corvo next to get a feel of the differences between his and Emily's powers. Btw, I read the book. Wyman is a noble. I don't know why I thought this char is a merchant. Didn't get any gist of gender but, as I mentioned before, I get a feminine vibe from the reply to Emily in the game. I just hope it's a lily-livered guy's response.

Ended up getting this as it was 50% off on Steam recently. Having quite a bit of fun so far, but right now I'm just 1000% mad. I was well over 20 hours in on my 100% non-lethal playthrough (doing a full ghost run was already fucked at Jindosh's mansion even though I've still stayed undetected ever since) , over 3 hours spent on Mission 7 and about to head back to the Dreadful Wale, when I just on a whim opened up the stats menu. 1 kill. Ok, that's... Wait, WHAT? Of course any quicksave and autosave I had was within minutes of my current position and whatever happened to somehow register as a kill had already happened by then, even if I did reload. The only option to salvage it would be to restart the mission from the beginning, but FUCK RIGHT OFF, Dishonored 2, if you think I'm going through that mission again for 3-4 hours to try to get it done without somehow accidentally killing someone again. I checked every goddamn guard I choked out or sleep darted, and made sure to tuck them in super gently if I moved their sleeping bodies somewhere. The only thing I can think of is that I missed a Nest Keeper somewhere and he ended up standing too close to a Bloodfly nest as I torched it with an incendiary bolt without even realizing he was there.

I share that annoyance for sure 1 enemy died during the entire game and I know I didn't kill a single one. Talked with a few friends and the best theory we got is that one must've glitched during mission 5 and walked of an edge to its death Goddamn pissing me off even now so many months later, just bullshit

Similar happened to me, too. A witch was killed by a sleep dart headshot. I don't even know why, as she didn't fell or anything. And at least one of those (forgot their names) mosquito filled walking dead was registered as kill, when I knocked him out.

I'm impressed with the devs. I found they added a game difficulty feature where players can adjust several conditions; whether the mob searched longer, sees more clearly, make char's footsteps louder or softer, etc.

Finished the PT with Emily again. Found a couple of new stuff and missed out others. With NGP, I boosted quite a number of powers to max, including physical enhancements. So far, I've been avoiding killing. A lot. An incident with a guard who discovered Emily decided that the next PT will be with Corvo who will get his hands bloody. What happened in the incident? It was too late to warp out of sight or stop time. The guard already saw Emily. So up came the sword, held ready to fight. I went when Emily turned and lashed out with a kick that threw the guard back, breaking through a wooden door. Dead when he hit the ground. oooooo. Ok, time to get into some action.

I'm playing the demo right now as I was convinced the game would run badly on my laptop. I'm amazed, it runs perfectly. Now to wait for a sale... It's very generous, I'm almost at the end of mission 3 and I've had 6 or 7 hours out of it. Honestly I'm surprised they'd let the demo run that long. Loving the game so far, the maps are wonderful and full of options. NPCs have much more interesting things to say too. The only thing that's annoying me is the random low textures you find on some objects. They were there in 1 but not as obvious as there are here. I'm assuming they just copied and pasted them from the old game (like the dog cages from the prison in the first game that appear occasionally), they look bloody awful tho. Look at the state of this cupboard -

Glad you're enjoying the demo. When you finally get the game, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as you did the demo. I know I am. I'm not bored of it because I haven't tried all the crazy combat stuff nor have I gone full chaos. I just started another PT, as Emily this time. I finished the one with Corvo so I unlocked that achievement. This time, I went head on with Ramsey instead of assassinating him. In an earlier PT, I choked him and then chucked him down to the bottom floor. There're two finishes for him which I find interesting. One was to lose the sword to him, Emily dropped to the floor and grabbed another sword to kill him. The other was to deflect his blow, grabbed him in a choke, kicked him away, then finish him off as he scrambled to get to his feet. I supposed I could prolong the fight.

I'll adjust the settings and see if it changes, and also take a look at things once I buy the game. I'm starting out with high chaos as I always do, then next time I'll be Emily and do a ghost, shadow, clean hands, flesh and steal run. I loved it in Dishonored 1 and I can't wait to do it again. Oops, okay, a furnace.

Oops, okay, a furnace. Okay so I was wrong about the textures. I have the full game now and looked at the settings, it turns out the game had automatically set itself to 'very low' graphical settings. I had no idea as everything looked good in game except for a couple of items like the furnace and the dog pens. Therefore I just assumed something was wrong and it honestly didn't occur to me to go see what the game was set at. Sorry Arcane, I take it all back.
