I feel Mordin (especially in ME2) is the best character BioWare has written to date. Dude was funny and smart. The internal struggle within him regarding the genophage was a thought provoking dilemma, and one that I still don't know the answer to. Shame that Beattie didn't return to voice him, William Salyers (all this time I thought it was Mark Meer) did a fairly decent job but it just wasn't the same.
Honourable mention to Padok Wiks our favourite pervert.

Mordin: Might go to beach. Stare at ocean. Collect seashells. Shepard: You'd go crazy in an hour. Mordin:...Might run tests on seashells.
I cried for a day and a half when Mordin died. Reeeeally awkward when you can't tell family that you're crying over a video game character.

Yeah, Mordin and Thane. Jeez!!! When Kolyat said his prayer was for Shepard not Thane. Or Mordin's, "had to be me, someone else might've gotten it wrong." Ah, noooo! LOL.

Mordin is great. I've seen him die curing the genophage, seen him die because I shot him and both times it felt REALLY bad (shooting him worse obviously, but the scene is really well done, and that music in the background!). In my current run I hope I can convince him to work on the Crucible. Go live Mordin, and collect seashells at the beach!

In my Renegade playthrough, I had the interrupt to shoot Mordin available as I role-played to have my Shepard be initially willing to sabotage the cure but unable to find herself able to pull the trigger on Mordy. I didn't take the interrupt, and he got on the elevator with a nod before going up.
Not even with my renegade character was I killing that amazing Salarian bastard.

I appreciate how he bled all over the floor after being shot.
A fitting end to be sure.

The extra insult to injury is BioWare DIDN'T ASK Beattie to begin with for returning to ME3. Oh My God I thought he turned it down for some reason. You've got be kidding me. A character with a trademark speech pattern and they don't try to keep the same VA? Why do you love Hitler so much, Bioware?! Mordin was awesome. I absolutely loved chatting with him. He always had the most interesting observations. Like that thing about limitations and stagnation of culture. I've read that's actually a real thing according to scientists. Getting obscure but real scientific observations from a video game character is just... I don't have a word for how incredible it is, but I bet Mordin does.

The whole reason I came to the BSN was because I kept losing Mordin - I didn't understand the Hold The Line mechanic. Once I got the mechanics right and he lived through it I was very happy with ME2 and went on to do a lot more playthroughs.

I love to play with him and Garrus on ME2. He made me laugh so many times, even when he says serious things XD Mordin is very well-written and I adore his french voice. I cried when he died. I was so happy to see him changing because of my Shepard. Damn, that moment when he took the elevator ...

Mordin and Garrus on Tuchanka was fun - talking about fighting through antique stores. Good times.
I hated ME3, and I really hated seeing Mordin get blown up. I couldn't betray Wrex, so Mordin's path was pretty much sealed by Shepard (me). How I hated that feeling.

We can always just click on the major decisions in the previews without actually pulling the trigger. I'd like to think that there's a parallel universe where Mordin's alive doing crazy experiments.

As it was, he would have just died of old age if he wasn't needed for the Crucible.

You know, that almost seems right- except you had a renegade option to save him and have him go work on the Crucible project. So, I can paragon and watch him die or renegade and A) Kill him or Save his life. It's a decision that is forced by BioWare that is part of the undertone of the whole game. Frankly, I hated it.

*looking at the threads' title* what does Mordin have to do with holding the line? He actually mocked Kirrahe for using this... err... line (no pun intended).
I mean Mordin is a great character and "Hold the line" is a great catchprase but do we have to apply this phrase to every salarian character?

Mordin is the polar opposite of Kirrahe in terms of wanting to "get shit done and go home." This seems to be the most memorable part about Mordin unlike his singing.

plain and simple Garak Mordin Easily my favorite Mass Effect character. Wonderfully written and a fantastic story arc. Morally grey at times, with depth and meaning behind it all. Sometimes annoying, smart, funny, tragic, just the full range of emotions with him. Bravo & thanks to each and everyone involved in creating him.

Yeah that. But also I just copied the title of the original Mordin Solus thread out of nostalgia.
