Since I'll be rolling a BroRyder, I'm really hoping Sara will still play a large role in the story. I know there are story reasons for why she can't be a part of the squad, but hopefully she still has a major role in the story and is someone we constantly converse with and go back to. From the "Voicing Lexi T'Perro" vid, I'd say the unchosen sibling had an averse reaction to S.A.M.'s implants ("It's a seizure! Her brain can't handle the connection.") I assumed she's talking about the player character after whatever happened planetside, as if the S.A.M. Implant was less than voluntary. If it IS regarding your twin, then that's a dick move on Bioware to throw out there like that. Someone is obviously going to figure it out and it'll ruin the surprise for a bunch of people.

Are you sure Dr. Lexi is not talking about Cora? That could be the reason why Cora doesn't become the next human pathfinder. That's a possibility. But I have a feeling that in that vid, the devs were taking snippets from Scott's (chosen) and Sara's revival sequence. - "Though you might want to hang around, while we revive your sister." I guess I was projecting my expectation that the NPC sibling would incur some sort of physical disability beyond incompatibility with the implants. While it's possible that the two lines are from different parts of the game, I think within the context of the video it makes sense that Dr. Lexi is talking about Sara.

There are also rumors that it's taken out of context and it is Cora who can't handle the connection and something happens to our twin in cryo. Apparently, Cora's lack of connection will be the reason why the remaining twin will be the Pathfinder- like the implants were placed in Liam, Cora, and the Ryder Twin's, but the process of turning it on overwhelmed her, maybe? Or they officially implanted S.A.M when they arrived to Andromeda. This could all be wrong though.

We were told early on by BioWare that something went wrong with the cryogenics freezing process for the other sibling, so I'm inclined to believe the SAM implant issue is likely related to Cora. It would make sense that the reason Ryder is chosen to be the Pathfinder over Cora would be something along the lines of being compatible and accepted by the SAM interface.

I remember hearing about that! Yeah and I feel like it would be strange since the other half of our squad likely won't have the implants either. Maybe Cora becomes the new Pathfinder and she gets outfitted for the implant first since she is the leader and she has seizures. Dr. Lexi then hypothesizes that someone that shares DNA and genetic make-up as Alec should likely be fine with S.A.M and we go through with it. Liam is advised against S.A.M after Cora almost dies, leaving us the only one with the implant and the obvious choice as the Pathfinder.

Plus, in that same brand new footage of Dr. Lexi, we also hear her ask Scott if he wants to be there for when his sister is awaken. We don't exactly know the chronological order of these events, but I'm inclined to believe the other sibling probably isn't immediately revived from the cryogenics state due to possible complications with the actual pod. It also just makes more sense that Cora is physically incapable of being the Pathfinder, which leads to her initial resentment and tension with Ryder.

Clearly, things are not going as planned and it's going to be up to Ryder to bring things together and get everybody through this alive. I have a feeling there will be a lot of tough decisions to make early on and not everybody will agree with the direction we take things.

Allegedly there are some loyalty missions that are so screwed up, some will not want to do them at all. I really like the idea of tough calls and uneasy alliances. Although I do hope we get some of that old school flair. Replaying Citadel and loving every minute of it- really hope we get some of those moments with Squadmates- were its funny, lighthearted, and sweet. These new squad mates have a lot to live up to thats for sure.

I really enjoyed Jacob's loyalty mission in ME2 due to how utterly strange yet terrible the situation was. It was one of those scenarios where you just couldn't believe what was happening. I like it when I'm utterly shocked and taken off guard. Citadel was amazing. The amount of fan service in every single segment was just way too high to fathom. Luckily, the Citadel DLC was actually developed by BioWare Montreal, so hopefully they'll be able to replicate that genius work in MEA.

I read a suggestion about you being able to pick Ryder's answers and kind of pick the memories of you and your sibling: "I got you this little ducky plushie from Kadara. I figured you'd appreciate it." "Sara, you were there when that duck attacked me during that camping trip on Thessia!" "You call it attacking, I call it affectionate ducky kisses. Love bites, maybe." "... I hate you." "Of course you do." "Hey, Sara keep your sense of humor. Archon is, well, you've seen him. This won't be easy, but try to keep smiling. To keep me happy at least." "I will."

I just hope BioWare doesn't disappoint! This is a unique opportunity for them to completely capitalize on the sibling, and to a greater extent the family, dynamic. Never has family ever really been a crucial element of the story in a BioWare game. It would be nice to see that sense of family and home intact while we go off on these various adventures around the Helius Cluster.

Thats partially why I want Alec to survive the game so we can have a closer familial type of base on the Nexus. Maybe he gets Anderson'ed and he gets a crappy "promotion" to the nexus and we stay at his nice apartment time to time while he complains about how miserable he is while drinking luke warm tea and yelling affectionately at his cat. Oh! Maybe when the sibling gets injured, he decides to take a cushy job heading security to take care of them on the Nexus, perhaps? Then, if Archon attacks the Nexus or something happens, we get a mission where we interact with Alec over the comm and have a father/child bonding moment of badassery.

The possibilities are absolutely infinite and BioWare would be doing us all a disservice if they just decided to kill off any of the family immediately. Especially with regard to the sibling, I'd like to see them constantly being relevant in the story as you progress through the game. I'd hate to see them relegated to a secondary NPC that really has no input or value on the game, which is what happened in DAII. Regardless of which Ryder you choose, this is very much a story about the entire Ryder family, so I'd like to see them all heavily involved in some way, shape, or form throughout the experience.

I remember someone once asked me what could replace romances as a mechanic on a squad for deeper character connection, and while I adore romance,s especially same sex romances, I felt like having a family dynamic could at least give that sense of a deeper connection and I would totally play a game with no romances but where everyone on the team was related and talking to companions meant exploring family ties.
Andromeda, I feel, is the best option. Having a family dynamic as a tense plot and exploring that dynamic while making friends and romances from your other crewmates.
What dynamic do you want to have with your father/sibling?

Citadel only worked because you already had two or three games of character development to riff off.
Anyway, is it me or has there been more of a focus on Sara than Scott for the marketing?

Anyway, is it me or has there been more of a focus on Sara than Scott for the marketing? It's you ( well your brain). They have switched around between the two with a slight edge to Scott until the recent gameplay trailer which has both Scott and Sara in it.

Citadel only worked because you already had two or three games of character development to riff off. Anyway, is it me or has there been more of a focus on Sara than Scott for the marketing? Sara's been featured in the briefings and gameplay video in the past week and a couple of screenshots were released too, but before that Scott had been featured more prominently. Dalinne did a pretty in-depth breakdown of their screen time back in January (http://bsn.boards.net/post/231993/thread), and that was before the second cinematic trailer in which he was also featured. Speaking of screenshots, here are some of Sara's screenshots in high-res: gamersyde.com/news_mass_effec...-18836_en.html#

I guess I've been used to the amount they gave femshep, so anything is an improvement!
