Need a shotgun and another rifle until I am complete. 9mm. .38 special and .357 magnum Welcome to the club! - Looks like you've got the most important things covered! But you still kinda need a large caliber precision rifle in .308,a surplus bolt action rifle and a .22lr rifle for total completeness. Semi, pump or break action shotgun? I so want this balanced recoil AK. Eh, I don't know, it looks good in theory but I don't like the added complexity of the gun just for recoil mitigation. 5.45 (And .223) has so little recoil in a semi automatic rifle its near non-existent, if you put a simple muzzle brake on it it basically has zero recoil. No need for any complex gadgets that increase the chances of malfunctions significantly.

I also want a smith and wesson model 29 and a walther ppk for well reasons

Fun fact: The Mosin's 7.62x54R round is one of the longest serving military cartridges and is still widely used in machine guns and sniper/DMR rifles and as a now uncommon rimmed cartridge to boot.

Holy crap! thats some "holy fuck" right there, lucky SOB to still be breathing right now, but this is also one of the things thats relatively common with out of date ammo, the stuff gets "tweaked" those with half a clue would break it open to burn test the powder from the batch periodically and then reload the rounds either with fresh powder or breaking down multiple rounds and overfilling to meet original burn values (your supposed to just replace it with new stuff, after also ding a burn test if the old stuff is no longer viable) could also be that this was misslabled military stock that was for use in a specific weapon or intended as spiked ammo in the first place (probably never know on that one) also just goes to show that safety and training are super important for the shooter and the second, glad he's going to be alright though even if he normally shoots half loads...

The only firearms related accident I ever had was when a 8x57 Mauser round cracked during firing because of flawed brass (too hard/brittle). The case split in the rear releasing gasses into the action, luckily the split was small and the 98k is designed to divert escaping gas from the shooters face. All I got was a puff of smoke right in front of my face, and the intense smell of burned gunpowder. Got to thank Paul Mauser for the safety features in his rifle, foolishly I was not wearing eye protection that day. With some other kind of rifle my eyes might have taken serious damage. Always wear eye protection!

Always wear eye protection! that sounds similar to when I had a failed to fire failed to extract round cook off in the chamber on a 303 Bren gun 30 years ago, gives you a nasty face full of carbon fog a slight headache and a little shaken up but doesnt really cause any damage to you or the weapon.... but thats the difference with older weapons designed around the odd failure and ammo that hasn't been over charged

Skallagrim talks about the challenges of accurate handgun shooting. I still think hes wrong with the single handed handgun shooting stance, none of the most precise shooters I know, who win shooting contests regularly, shoot handguns with one hand. The lack of stability from removing one hand dramatically outweighs the small benefit you get from the better sight picture from single handed shooting. Single handed shooting was only a thing back in the day because people who shot handguns were soldiers on horsebacks, they had one hand to shoot the gun, the other they had to keep on the reins to control the horse. The other situation where shooting a handgun with just one hand was beneficial was in duels, because one handed stance allows you to present a much smaller silhouette of yourself to the other shooter, compared to the squared off stance when shooting with both hands. The only contest we have here that requires shooting a handgun with just one hand is traditional blackpowder revolver shooting, because it mimics the cavalry style shooting from horsebacks from the mid 1800's. Thats also the reason why single handed stance was no longer a thing starting from WWII, because by then cavalry was total history.

Bought a nice custom leather holster from craft holsters complete with my own initials for my Taurus 65. Also have a speed loader pouch for my two five-shot 'loaders for my S&W 638 from them on the way too.

One of gun jesus's associates discussing the guns of mass effect: Decent video, but also a missed opportunity. I'd have like to hear his thoughts on the me1 codex entry that said that the small arms fire bullets "the size of a grain of sand". That entry sure made me do the Spock eyebrow back when I first read it.

Having micro-fabricators that create one-use gear out of nowhere basically removes all the downsides of stuff like that.
If the bayonet doesn't make the gun heavier, alter its mass distribution/point of balance, affect its accuracy, or fall off when shooting then sure, throw it on. Same with Shepards wrist blades. Its basically a free weapon for "oh shit!" moments.

A close friend of mine has had a weapons license for over 2 decades now, but she never actually owned a proper firearm - now she mentioned to me that since she is living all alone and times are getting more....unpredictable, that she wanted a gun for home defense. Had to go to the gun store for ammo anyway, I got her a used Rossi .38 Special (+p rating) 2'' snubnose. I inspected it closely, tested its timing, checked the bore and the cylinder locking - its basically new, beautiful bluing and the grips are nice stained walnut. A really nice gun, wouldn't mind having one myself. Bought it for 150 bucks and a box of wadcutters for 20. I made sure that she knows all the firearms safety rules and showed her how to operate it. I'll take her to the shooting range once they open up again. I'm a good boy. Decent video, but also a missed opportunity. I'd have like to hear his thoughts on the me1 codex entry that said that the small arms fire bullets "the size of a grain of sand". That entry sure made me do the Spock eyebrow back when I first read it. Yeah that has always bothered me, I mean what material would this tiny projectile have to be made of to withstand the immense air resistance and heat from those insane high muzzle velocities? Diamonds? I mean if the projectiles are this small, they have to be really fast to cause damage. Think of micro-meteorites. Several miles per second velocities. And they break apart and burn up from the friction the second they reach earths atmosphere. Also ballistics would be all over the place, the air resistance would slow down those tiny projectiles like hitting a wall, and wind would blow it away like dust, despite the high velocities. It simply wouldn't really work. The closest we could get would be flechette (finned darts) rounds made from tungsten fired by electromagnetic accelerators, and this is far off from speck of dust.

Recently purchased a pair of these novelty shotgun shell flashlights and they're pretty neat. Prolly not a good idea to take this to any place that requires a metal detector though.
