Ryder's dialogue to Reyes also changes slightly depending on what type of bad the meeting goes.

I have to say, I prefer giving Sloane shit. :ulikeit: It's pleasing and gets you more Reyes.

Yeah, I've never actually left Vehn in Sloane's keeping, even that 1 time I left her in charge of Kadara. But I usually get, "I think she likes me " instead of "she almost shot me" since I opt to tell her the truth.

Reyes's laugh at the beginning of this scene is wonderful. ❤

I mean Sloane lost me already after I saw her guards beating some poor people. :'D

You always get this scene if you don't agree with her. Either if you don't want to tell what you need him for or if you do tell her and then disagree on her deal to talk to him before the execution.
As for reasons, he is a member of the resistance, so it is their right to choose his fate. This is Ryder's reasoning.

I wonder if at some point in development they intended to make it so that you didn't even meet Reyes if you made the deal with Sloane. I saw that in several guides when the game first came out, and it had me confused thinking there was an alternate route where Sloane gives you additional quests instead of Reyes.

I've never let Sloane keep Vehn for the reasons everyone's referring to above. It makes sense that diplomacy with the Angaran resistance is more important than with the exiles. Sloane has no right to pass judgment on Vehn.

I'm just coming to the end of my speed(ish) run with Scott / Cora and had to take the hard decision to save Sloane, it just felt like something this Scott would do, he's very by the book. He didn't try and shoot him though... it was hard

I also had that impression Sah291 but had never tried it because why would you ever have a game without Reyes???

True. And you only have to do 3 missions with him. You can skip the party (I did it once out of curiosity, only slightly altered dialogue regarding Keema). On the one hand, Sloane could use a bit more development. You can talk to her about different topics but it is entirely optional. On the other hand, the way she is currently written, she doesn't want the Pathfinder meddling in Kadara's business. Even Kaetus only asks for assistance once. It would look strange for her to suddenly seek help or associate more with Ryder.

Reverse that, in my case.
