I think Kaidan works much better in the third game. He is more interesting than Ash  (but I keep loving you, Ash, only I miss your witty personality from ME1) Honestly, the main reason I have so few playthroughs where Kaiden lives is because back when I was first playing ME1 I could only think of Carth Onasi whenever I heard him speak. Unfair, but it wasn't a pleasant association. I never hated Carth, so it wasn't an incredibly unpleasant association for me, but it did take me a good long while to hear anything other than Carth while Kaiden talked... Anyway, I used to almost always save Ash - I thought her ME1 arc was much more interesting than Kaiden's, and I liked her stories about her family and such - but these days it's the opposite, largely 'cause that whole dynamic is reversed for ME3. |

Honestly, the main reason I have so few playthroughs where Kaiden lives is because back when I was first playing ME1 I could only think of Carth Onasi whenever I heard him speak. Unfair, but it wasn't a pleasant association. I never hated Carth, so it wasn't an incredibly unpleasant association for me, but it did take me a good long while to hear anything other than Carth while Kaiden talked... Anyway, I used to almost always save Ash - I thought her ME1 arc was much more interesting than Kaiden's, and I liked her stories about her family and such - but these days it's the opposite, largely 'cause that whole dynamic is reversed for ME3. *stupid mobile formatting...* I save Kaidan for the same reason. I like both Kaidan and Ash equally, so the Virmire decision is always tough, but I usually end up saving Kaidan because Ash really got the writing shaft in ME3. I think I remember reading somewhere that someone different was writing her at the time? It shows. |

That one track from the orientation video sounds absolutely fantastic, at least if you can ignore the distortion on the ripped version. Can't wait to hear more! |

I am so excited for this! I love soundtracks...it IS my music genre! Note: I am not sure what genre "soundtracks" fall under since the pieces can vary, but either way I love them! I'm super stoked that they're putting the full soundtrack in with the Deluxe Edition. It's a major part of why I can justify the added £15 or so. (Well, that and the exclusive outfit and armour--anything for more dress-up options. Annnnnd space monkey.) It's been a while since I've read Valérian and Laureline but I have some familiarity with the setting. It inspired some elements in Star Wars too. I'm curious if Laureline's origin story (she starts off as a medieval French peasant) is going to remain the same... |

I had a similar experience. I had a, "WTH? I'm supposed to ignore that this dude is my man Carth Onasi?" moment; but I'd honestly forgotten about it by the time we reached the Citadel. Kaidan became his own person so quickly that the shared voice was forgotten. I had a dead even, 50/50 split on my game saves, eagerly awaiting future events in the series after ME. ME2 didn't change that, though the VS encounter wasn't thrilling. When ME3 came around, poor writing and superfluous contributions in the skills department doomed Ashley to a permanent fate on Virmire. |

I have KotOR but I've never finished it, and I played Mass Effect first. So to me Kaidan was always his own person there. And even though I heard him in Carth when playing KotOR it didn't bother me, probably because I already knew to hear him in Carth. As far as the Kaidan/Ashley thing...in ME I love them both and it's always hard to leave Ashley...but, KAIDAN  . So I tried once to use Genesis for Mass Effect 2 and I was so weak I couldn't even save Ashley there. So I gave up. Then my son, who had romanced Ashley, thus saved her, told me that she wasn't the same as she was in ME so I was doing myself a favor. But...how about those tweets, eh? |

Soundtracks are the one thing that keeps me buying the Collector's / Deluxe Editions. The extra digital stuff is all right and all, but there's no way I'll cough up ~ € 10-20 extra for what amounts to skins and/or weapons packs. And also: thanks for the reminder! I haven't put my order in yet. |

the different kind or romances (one time/forever/etc) will we know before what they want?

. So I tried once to use Genesis for Mass Effect 2 and I was so weak I couldn't even save Ashley there. So I gave up. Then my son, who had romanced Ashley, thus saved her, told me that she wasn't the same as she was in ME so I was doing myself a favor.
