I figured this would be a nice centralized place for people to recommend games to each other. Feel free to give suggestions.
I will start,
I am looking for a game like Dragon's Dogma in the sense of an action rpg that provides me with enough opportunities to roleplay. Medium to heavy on the rpg elements but action based combat, a lot of customization if possible.
Anyone know of something like this?

It's a fundamentally terrible game (from developers doing the voice acting to exploits that would let you fly), but I somehow found myself having tons of fun with it (I have a friend who is also like this in regards to that game). Depending on what platform you play on, you can nab it for around $5. Otherwise: I'd recommend Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga. It was an actiony/RPG-lite game and a lot fun.

I played The Dragon Knight Saga and I did enjoy it. Two Words not at all, is it any good? I played Divinity 2: Ego Draconous, which was the base version without the DLC that The Dragon Knight Saga provides and loved it, but I was pretty butthurt that it ended on a cliffhanger which was left to be addressed in future DLC You got captured and the game ended with you in a hanging cage I really need to buy Dragon Knight Saga so I can finish the story :\ No, but it works for some reason. It's hard to explain, because like I said, it is fundamentally terrible and has everything stacked against it, yet it works in some weird way. The voice acting, story, and characters were terrible, but the setting was interesting and the gameplay fun despite being horribly broken. I'd say it's worth the risk for $5; it's an odd game and chances are that you won't like it, but it may click with you like it did me and my friend. I guess it's a sort of recommendation, but it's something you won't know whether or not you'll like until you try it. Edit: Think of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but lesser in nearly every way (which is ironically the game it ended up competing against).

I'm bumping this because I'm a total idiot and forgot a really great game. Look into Kingdom of Amular: Reckoning. It's an action RPG with lots of customization and a really large world (was initially going to be an MMO). It's one of them hidden gems that got buried because it was released beside or near a titan (Skyrim). Also, you can't go wrong with Canderous Ordo's voice actor.

You guys should play a game called The Witch's House!
It's one of those horror rpg maker games that is fairly simple on the surface but has so much more to the story then you might at first expect.
It only takes 2 hours at best to complete and it's free.

King's Bounty: The Legend and its 'Armored Princess' expansion. Thee last expansion (Darkside) has vampire and demon class and some other cool stuff but I haven't played it yet. Turned based strategy with adventure and RPG elements.

I second Dungeon Siege III. Torchlight was also lots of fun, though that's more of a dungeon crawl than anything else.

I'll throw out that I'm always on the lookout for some good Sci-Fi RPGs. Preferably space sci-fi, but anything will do.
Shiny modern graphics is not a necessity.

Already checked that out but I'm not into XV century. My bad that I wasn't more specific. I need a game that centered on the Western Europe's High Medieval i.e. XI-XIII centuries (in other words, no guns). France, England, Germany, Spain or Italy preferrably.

does any1 know any good non-fantasy medieval rpg? The only thing I can think of is if you get a mod for Mount and Blade: Warband. Fantastic sandbox RPG with addictive and very well thought out (if clunky) combat. Personal character progression with social and leadership progression mesh together very nicely. Not much chop if you want a good or even passable scripted narrative though. You could also take a look at Darklands, one of my personal favourites. Another sandbox RPG. Main story is kind of basic,as is narrative and characters. But the actual writing is solid since non-combat encounters are handled through CYOA sequences. But it's an old DOS game with all the flaws and foibles a game 20-25 years old is likely to have.

Turing, Vroom ego draconis is worth a go through. Probably one of my favormurite bits of the game but there isn't much dragoning since you're stuck in one town exploring it fully.
Cyonan I'm pretty sure one with impeccable tastes such as you has played Shadowrun? Not sci-fi but a really good RPG.
And Warband is really good pseudo-realistic medieval setting and plenty of other total conversion mods. Though diplomacy is recommended.

I figured this would be a nice centralized place for people to recommend games to each other. Feel free to give suggestions. I will start, I am looking for a game like Dragon's Dogma in the sense of an action rpg that provides me with enough opportunities to roleplay. Medium to heavy on the rpg elements but action based combat, a lot of customization if possible. Anyone know of something like this? I love Ragnarock Odyssey. It came out for PS3 and Vita some years ago, it's Monster Hunter style but I think better on the world/kind of RPG flair IMO and yet good amounts of customization and all that. The Vita version is much better IMO but like no one has a Vita.. it's true.

Darklands has guns (primitive weapons, I think it's set in the late 15th century). As for M&B, it depends on the mod. I'm sure there is one out there that would have a Chivalric Age setting.

Have you played Anachronox? If the Souls games can be described as Japanese devs attempting to create a western action RPG, then Anachronox is the opposite, a western attempt to create a turn based JRPG. Combat is not very complex and the focus is more on interactions and exploration. Well worth a play.

Wasteland 2 is a good and fairly recent Sci-fi RPG in the style of the old Fallout games.

does any1 know any good non-fantasy medieval rpg? Mount & Blade is the only real one. And there's Kingdom Come: Deliverance coming out next year. But one of the best rpg's I know is Crusdader Kings II. Trust me, it's a grand strategy game of course at heart, but it's a unique way to role play and will get you hooked.
