Netflix, Sans Chill -- The Streaming Thread!

Best show ever!



Im so happy the show got good again! I thought it was all over after that atrocious Archer: Vice season!

I've been terrible lately, I've seen all the other seasons, re-watched em before the 4th season would air. But, I have yet to watch it. I really must fix that this week.

Currently I'm watching Stranger Things, just 4 episodes in. Great stuff. Have to also finish my watching of the 3rd season of House of Cards. Finished the latest season of Archer and the 2nd season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt last weekend also, hilarious.

I'm slowly working away at Star Trek: DS9 and Teen Titans Go!. The last series I watched on Netflix in its entirety was River, a British Netflix original miniseries starring Stellan Skaarsgard as a mentally ill detective trying to solve his partners murder. Really, really well done, very sensitive to the subject matter all around.

I think I might start Gilmore Girls, and I also finished watching Star Wars The Clone Wars on Netflix which took a while because of the six seasons. I really liked it though and will probably start Rebels soon.

I can't count how many times I've seen the series, but I might just have to do another run through leading up to the release of the miniseries in November. 

Quite liked The Magicians. Didn't watch Killjoys because it started too close to Dark Matter. I wasn't going to start two new sci fi shows around the same time, and it lost the coin toss.

Ran out of episodes of The Magicians.
On to Vikings now, which is great so far.

Wasn't ready for what happened to

Super hyped about Netflix picking up Black Mirror. Season 3 will be streamable on October 21. Yay! 

I'm working through S1 of Penny Dreadful now. Beautiful, exquisite costumes, love all of the actors, dialogue is so pretty, LOVE Eva Green, hello new avatar, so dreamy and I love the way the various source materials dove tail together. It does it for me. 10/10

I feel the need to watch Stranger Things. So many good reviews and news.

My top series~!!

Daredevil. Arguably the best Marvel iteration of a character. Feels like I'm reading Frank Miller's run. Top notch action and acting with a ridiculously good first season and selection of characters. Stick is way better on here than in the comics.

Jessica Jones. Much like Daredevil it's top notch. It trades the action:plot progression ratio with DD while still maintaining a great cast and my second favorite MCU villain behind Loki and edging out Kingpin with Kilgrave/Purple Man. David Tennant is great!

Marco (Polo). Like Yummy said above I LOVED this series, I think S3 is still a possibility, though slim. I initially hated most of the cast but have grown to love its take on the Italian scholar and merchant. Once they found their groove and sifu 100 Eyes came into play it became a favorite.

Other than that, I've been exploring some Hong Kong cinema and greatly respect Jackie Chan's acting prowess in films like 1911 and Little Big Soldier. Another great movie is The Hunt starring Danish Sean Bean and Mads Mikkelsen. That guy's a GREAT actor and in 3 seasons gave Anthony Hopkins a SERIOUS run for his money as the best portayal of Hannibal Lechter.
