I've been told regulators 4x multiplier ignores Hornet strike, (like vex armour's multiplier ignores serration) Hm, according to the wiki, Hornet Strike seems to affect Peacemaker just fine.

-stuff- Hornet Strike - Harder dakka Gunslinger - Faster dakka Barrel Diffusion - More dakka Lethal Torrent - More, faster dakka Primed Pistol Gambit - More critical hits Primed Target Cracker - Harder critical hits Convulsion and Pathogen Rounds combine for corrosive damage Keep Shatter Shield up, murder everything with Peacemaker and use the Shooting Gallery buff at your discretion. I like to bring a Rubico Prime to get those few bastards that are too far away for Peacemaker. Enjoy! I've been told regulators 4x multiplier ignores Hornet strike, (like vex armour's multiplier ignores serration)
Actually, Vex Armour does not ignore serration. Since the rework, Vex Armour is considered a buff to the basic damage (used to be applied to total damage I think, so after all sources of damage had been accounted), so it acts like a giant serration itself when active. The trick is that damage from elemental mods is calculated as a percentage of the basic damage after Vex Armour has been taken into account. Considering a high strength Chroma can multiply base damage by over 8x, you can gain way more damage by slotting an extra elemental mod instead of Serration. Of course, this only applies when Vex Armour is active and at max buff, so your mileage may vary on how skippable Serration is.
Uuuh, and I have no idea on Hornet Strike for Mesa; I imagine it could be a similar situation, where the inherent extra damage might make hornet strike less appealing?

Some odds and ends:
I confess I ended up never playing Chroma (didn't even slot a potato in), because the regular version looks like crap IMO, just a visual mess. Got the Prime out of the foundry and what a difference! Imposing and regal, just as it should be. Of all the frames with a primed version, only Zephyr comes close to this much visual improvement; regular Zephyr is bleargh, but Zephyr Prime...
I was sceptic about the K-drives before they launched. Now I still think they are meh for bounties, but they are the bee's knees when it comes to collecting resources - both in the Vallis, and on the Plains. Easier to spot stuff than from archwing, faster than parkouring, and you can always faceplant do a few sick tricks while... grinding Related, Ivara best skater-girl IMO, she's just such a natural fit on that board Also related, whoever at DE approved drop rates of less than 100% for pigments is a sadist
Fortuna is pretty sweet: looks good, interesting enemies, much lessened grind, interesting NPCs... if only it didn't bring my frame rate to its knees so often! Hopefully DE will work its usual magic and optimize things for low-end pcs.
This unvaulting has been incredibly forgiving. Having relics drop from 3 different sources (plus syndicate relic packs!) has reduced the grind to almost zero. I applaude DE for their kindness!
Last but not least, really looking forward to the proposed Nyx rework! Her new 2 in particular looks amazing, and should definitely help expand her niche away from "non-kill missions"
It's a great time to be playing this game, Sparky!

I've done all the new pigments already, in addition to having all the old ones already done too. My general advice is to let the alert meter escalate while either running lots of t5 bounties, or farming the temple basement. The only one I had trouble with was cyan, the drop rate from the fat birb drones isn't very good.

It recently occurred to me how much I appreciate the VA lines of NPCs in general and quest givers like Konzu and Eudico especially in this age of shitty bare bones side quests in AAA SP games. Eudico comments on every completed bounty stage and says different things depending on whether you completed the bonus objective or not.
"You can be a mean little thing when you want to." "You hit them so fast, they didn't even get to wake their supervisor." "Polite applause, Sparky. Polite applause."
Also, don't forget to make your kit gun. "GREAT CHOICE! WOOHOO! Ballons fall from the ceiling now move over and lemme get this done..."

Farming for mesa Prime and the new prime weapons has been a real pain. I think I did around 10 games last night, all with 3 other players who had the same radiant relic and we got one of the new pieces once

Happy new year thread! I guess nobody posts because everyone is busy farming the heck out of this game, right?
Hopefully 2019 will bring a ton of good stuff into Warframe. Personally, I hope for an early release of melee 3.0, and a reduction in the Cetus grind. Bracing myself for a ton of [DE]lays and an increase in the Fortuna grind instead!
I am not interested in Anthem, but it will be interesting to see how it compares with Warframe, and whether it will end up competing with this one, or whether it will funnel further players to our beloved overlords at Digital Extremes. I'd be fine with either outcome personally.

I've been taking a short break from Warframe, I've been doing a lot of farming maxed out some of the new syndicates in Fortuna, built all the moa's, kitguns and maxed out some of the Pax arcanes. Waiting for the next Fortuna update to hit consoles. As for Anthem...It actually looks pretty good (though I will wait and see what the reviews are like before I even consider buying it). I think its more of a rival to Destiny rather than Warframe tbh

The Song if Ice and Fire is coming back to Warframe next week Two of the three primes I still miss (got to work on my burnout schedule!), and a reason to head back to Fortuna to do the bounties. I am very excited! The anticipation... I learn so much from a live dissection!
Besides the two frames, the Sicarus Prime is one of the best (if rather boring) secondaries in the game, don't sleep on it! plus the Glaive Prime of course, if you are into thrown melee.

In yesterday's update, Digital Extremes buffed the previously pretty useless mod Magnum Force from +66% damage/-33% accuracy to +165% damage/-55% accuracy at max rank 10, making it the equivalent of Heavy Caliber.
It might be time to revisit my Atomos build.

I keep meaning to play more, but I think my tolerance for grinding materials in this game has been waning.
Which gives me mixed feelings since I’m fascinated by the story parts of this game, but the wait between story quests is rather long.

Yup I'm in the same boat, pretty much tried all the weapons, Warframes and archwings. We're still waiting on the the Fortuna update to fight those giant spiders and for the latest frame to come out. The last 2-3 weeks I've hardly played, waiting for significant new content.

I started playing this about three weeks ago - had been on my list for awhile but whenever I watched it on twitch it didn't seem that fun.
I actually really enjoyed the gameplay loop though the MTX model is a little too predatory for my tastes. I think I've just about got all the planets unlocked now and am hoping to try some more end-gamey stuff before I shelf it just to get a better sense of the whole game.
Any suggestions for specific things to see/attempt from a gameplay analysis perspective?

Absolutely complete the Natah - The Second Dream - The War Within quests chain if you have not already. They add significant gameplay elements which tie in with the lore - a welcome addition in my opinion, as it helps grounding the mechanics (which until then kind of just... exist) within the game world.
The War Within also grants access to Sorties, a daily trio of missions ranging in levels from 50 to 100 with special modifiers; you can either try them to see how easily you can break them (very easily), or to see how well you can perform without ultra-optimized loadouts.
While right now the game developers seem intent on fitting a round peg (boss battles) into a square hole (horde shooter) for end-game content (eidolons, profit-taker), in my opinion a better end-game challenge is provided by going deep into endless modes: survival, defense, inteception, excavations, and the (elite) sanctuary modes. In particular the Mot node in the void (increased damage output) and any high level endless fissure (increased enemy density) will provide you with a good benchmark for your builds, while still being doable without having to resort to meta cheese. The downside is that you will probably have to recruit a group for it, as most people tend to stick around for 4 rotations at the most.
Hope this helps! I am currently on a hiatus - this game is best experienced in bouts - but would very much like to hear your thoughts on the gameplay, if you'd be inclined to sharing them here!

I think I've just about got all the planets unlocked now and am hoping to try some more end-gamey stuff before I shelf it just to get a better sense of the whole game. Any suggestions for specific things to see/attempt from a gameplay analysis perspective? The only microtransactions that affect gameplay and you absolutely can't get in any other way are inventory slots for warframes and weapons. That's what you'll want to spend your starting platinum on for maximum bang for the buck. Suggestions for gameplay analysis: - Check out how the game handles relic rewards and how it encourages players to play in a group. When a relic is opened, any player in the group can pick any other player's reward, so if one guy/gal gets lucky, everyone gets lucky. You will likely find almost constant "rad share" parties forming in the recruitment channel, parties where every player has set the same relic to "radiant" (expending in game resources to increase the chance for a rare reward from that relic), increasing the chance to get the rare reward from the relic in question. This happens most often when new prime weapons or warframes are released and everyone wants their new toys. - Try out some warframes that play very differently and require/allow very different play styles against high level enemies. Rhino can stomp through everything with Iron Skin, Volt + Transistor Shields + Chokepoint = you shall not pass, while fragile frames like Banshee require almost constant crowd control to stay alive. - Try out frames that have powers with some synergies between them, like Saryn or Oberon. - If possible and your time allows it, unlock Cephalon Simaris's simulacrum, which lets you tinker around with your weapons and frames and test them against stationary high level enemies. Try out different mods on your weapons and see how they affect your weapon's efficiency vs armor and shields. Other than that I second the suggestions by HamleticTortoise

I think I've just about got all the planets unlocked now and am hoping to try some more end-gamey stuff before I shelf it just to get a better sense of the whole game. Any suggestions for specific things to see/attempt from a gameplay analysis perspective? I like to take in the atmo personally. So I sometimes run solo missions. These are generally great to get a good grasp on your Warframe. The most important thing I feel is having the variety in Frames and weapons. But mostly frames. How is your loadout? Frames are like tools for the job at hand. And then there are all the mods, of course. These are what makes stuff poweful. For level 80 and beyond you pretty much need some decent mods for frames and weapons.
I highly recommend Ivara - mastering the whole range of tools is quite challenging. Same with Limbo.
"Endgame" for me is also exploring the power augmentation you get from the syndicates. They can quite mix up the normal gameplay with an interesting twist.
"Endgame" is also struggling with high enemy damage resistance or armour. Make yourself familiar with dealing or breaking through that mechanic. I neglected that for a long time so that part always felt kinda bullet spongy for me, but there is cheese to deal with it, like slash damage procs. Tho I hear dmage is gonna be revisited. Again. That is another "endgame" thing - I played since beta and I had to frequently relearn how to do it.
So endgame activities kinda encompass sorties. They are not to hard, but you need to know how to do it with what.
Them endless simulacrum which is horde mode increasing in difficulty (dmage dealt and received tweaks for enemies). I suck at that because they spawn all over the place and they kill me eventually. Eidolon runs. It's boss battles on the PoE. Ye, you get loot there, but is not really my cuppa tea.
In essence I'm with Hamletic. Horde is Warframes bread and butter. Not boss battles.
Also there is multicrew update coming up. They plan to have some kind of joint operation, where part of the squad control space craft and combat and one or more go and enter ship or station in a more "classic" experience tying this into a new take on the coop experience. Sounds quite interesting.

And of course do the story missions. All of them, but the cinematic quests are the most impressive. They come with Keith Power compositions, too. Warframe has one of the best soundtracks out there, imo.
