Aris Hawke the Two-Handed warrior is now a thing. Named after Aristide Amell.
Made it out of Ferelden with mom, sis and Aveline. Survived one year of indentured servitude for some merc groups and is now doing bounties and errands to get money to invest (despite being broke) in a crazy deep road expedition to make sure Templars don't get too nosy over Bethany. That was Varric idea, the little brother of the expedition boss. I also got to find a Grey Warden to see if he got some map of entrances to the Deep Roads. Really who plan expedition without an entrance or money???
Also, I got a Witch's amulet to deliver, Sundermount is rather creepy though and those Dalish don't seems too happy.

Terrorized the streets of Kirkwall with this swell burglar eating bird. Then summoned an ancient bird goddess and managed to miss the best screenshot because I did not expect that to work. Turned Carver into a Qunari and had him run daintily across the Kirkwall market place. Then tried to turn him into an Ogre, but it failed and I was left with his distorted floating head. It looked painful. Switched out Merrill for Meredith, got Cassandra to wear Aveline's tunic and turned Isabela into Sebastian. So that was fun. Also, for educational purposes, the files for the birds that appear in DA2 (and probably DAI) call them buzzards. Which makes me sad because I liked to imagine Kirkwall having a severe crow infestation. But on the other hand. Buzzard and Hawk(e) , partners in crime and suppliers of feathers, gold teeth and other shiny things. So tl;dr learned to break the game even more and did so with great glee.

So, I've been a bit busy today. Let me just give you the highlight of the day.
Weeper Cadash (my dwarven rogue) finally got around to visiting the Dalish camp in the Exalted Plains. He did a whole bunch of chores for them, and then went to herd the golden halla towards the Dalish camp.
It didn't react to him in any way, shape, or form. Not even when he jumped on its back.
I was afraid I'd gotten a bug, until I realized that Weeper was in Stealth.
And that is how a big old golden deer got the spook of its lifetime.

Been reading the Dragon Age novels (after I have finished —at last— the Forgotten Realms sundering novels). Started with the Stolen Throne (that its the first chronologically). Not even the novels can sell Loghain as a hero of the people of Ferelden, though.
I guess I'm going to left Loghain again in the Fade...

Hazel Trevelyan, DW rogue:
Rescued the Inquisition soldiers in the Fallow Mire, and did the side quests while we were there. Killed the Crestwood dragon. Went to Verchiel as a favour for Sera and ended up forcing Lord Pel Harmond to serve the Inquisition.
Talked to advisors and companions at Skyhold, and got a few more personal quests. I might do Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts before I start on those, though.

Played Lyana, my elven archer, a while. She helped Josephine to find sponsors for the Du Paraquettes and is now on in Crestwood, saving the day and finding the warden. So far she persuaded the elven girl not to join the wardens, captured Caer Bronach, convinced Snowball to move out (or start paying rent and stop eating the other inhabitants) and opened the dam.

Productive days for my warden. -Found the dalish and helped lift a curse -Saved redcliff from the undead with no deaths -Visited the castle and defeated the demon. -Found the location of the sacred ashes and cured Eamon. -Stopped slavers from Tevinter from taking elves
Next up confronting Loghain

Not even the novels can sell Loghain as a hero of the people of Ferelden, though. I guess I'm going to left Loghain again in the Fade... I thought Loghain was heroic in Stolen Throne but not without a hard edge. This as opposed to Maric's romanticism. He's cruel in the way he lets Maric kill Katriel without giving him all the facts that indicated she had turned against the Orlesians. (But even if given that context, Maric still would be compelled to cast judgement on her. She was, after all, responsible for the loss of many of Marics followers and Ronan's father.) He believed that for the good of Ferelden, Maric needed to marry Ronan, even though Loghain loved her himself. He wanted to toughen Maric. I'd also say "The Calling" helps explain part of Loghain's skepticism toward the GWs.

Well Kirkwall sure doesn't lack for works. Some magistrate asked me to bring back a fugitive, who turns out was his son...an elf serial killer. I killed him, he did ask for that, well the son, not the magistrate. I had to clean up a mine with a dubious name from dragons too. I also encountered a ex-slave with weird tattoos, an ex-pirate queen and an ex-warden mage who I had to ask a map of the deep road from (I had to help him out with something first). I also hang out with an ex-dalish First and Varric doesn't seems to have a job. I think I see a theme here: only Aveline can find and keep her job.
Bertrand must be a lazy ass if he can't raise the money for his expedition. I'm basically rich already. Seems like every street corner has some raiders or bandits in hiding that need killing, some errands to run. Also, slavers, a few darkspawns and lots of spiders.
Why does it always have to be spiders?

Why does it always have to be spiders? A lot of people ask this question. I saw a very cute video this days, where two gamers review spiders in games (well one is reviewing them, the other shows them to her) and there are a lot of comments from arachnophobes, which shows, that spiders are a mixed blessing in those games. here is the video - it's fun to watch (if you are not an arachnophob, they do show the spiders, they are talking about, but it is funny, so maybe not so bad) Luckily for pc players, there are 'no spider' mods around

Each and every field trip with her was true video-game-like adventure, because... you know... I got to kill... a lot of spirders... :poker: :dumb: :poker:

I remember the first time I tried to play Left4Dead2 and I couldn't even leave the room my character was in because there were strange noises coming from the stair well. I think that Cupping thing people do is freaky because it makes me think of scarabs crawling under your skin. Spiders? Whatever. Bugs crawling under your skin?

Finished up origins. -Won the landsmeet in a landslide. Loghain did not survive. -Alistair and Anora to rule(Hardened Alistair) -Dark Ritual performed with Alistair. My warden had an ulterior motive of keeping the royal bloodline running. (Letter found at ostigar hinted at Anora unable to have kids) -Defeated the Archdemon and lived! Went back to Orzimmar with Leliana,Zevran and Gorim.
Will be starting Awakening later tonight

Talking about Awakening, in the tabletop RPG book they fleshed out the Mother's backstory... and is interesting. Now I understand why she was mad at the Architect awakening her. Her backstory is sad.

What! I have that book but hadn't thought it was anything but rules! There are rules, yes. Lots of rules. But there is also a lot of lore info And some stuff is not covered in other sources (such as the Mother's backstory). BTW, I've updated her wiki article, if someone is curious about her: dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/The_Mother

Went to the Frostback Basin for the sole purpose of getting the Aegis of the Rift ability. Killed that overkill frost giant. He went down quickly when I had two mages that used high ranking fire staffs.

Realized that playing a mage Hawke gets you stuck with a whiny brother. Hey, Carver is fun! (But you can use addon, if you don't like him.) There's a mod to remove Carver? Link please? He gets particularly on my Hawke's nerves due to a clash of personality (I went with sarcastic Hawke, something that furthers Carver's rivalry, apparently, as opposed to aggressive Hawke). The line that particularly struck a nerve was at the beginning, when he said "The Templars are after you!" like it's none of his business, despite Hawke being his sister. His whole "woe is me" attitude certainly didn't help.
