And tonight i will probably do one of the main quests that i really dislike namely Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. From all the quests in Dragon Age Inquisition this is the only quest that i wish i could skip. Interesing how many players actully like this plot quest. As well just hate it with orlesian backstabbing, spleeping with sisters and brothers, killing each other or whatever that empire can represent. Very repulsive nation in short. Well that's already one ^^ who likes this quest but i'm glad that i'm not the only one who really dislikes this quest. I also like to add that i'm not a fan of the whole court approval thingy ... very annoying. But i'm glad it's over i did the quest as fast as i could yesterday pfeew ... moving on to the next quest. I'm also glad that i still knew exactly what to do to get it high enough.

I quite agree...I love the look of two-handed weapons in this game, but I've only ever finished a game with one once or twice. and in Inquisition I don't like melee weapons in general, I tried playing a warrior in that one as well but felt myself switching to my mages or archers quite a bit on the other hand, in games like Skyrim I love playing with two-handed weapons, but as you said mostly because they play very differently My current projected Inquisition PC - a Trevelyan Templar Warrior - is probably going to be two-handed, but he'll be the very first I even attempt in any of the DA games, even though I love playing sword-and-board and dual-wield Warriors. But I also tend to end up spending more time in combat as one of the mages or archers, keeping a bird's eye view of the fight and affecting it strategically while the front-liners duke it out. Skyrim's two-handed weapons are saved by the fact that you can move around and backwards very nimbly between attacks in that game so you can actually take some advantage of the increased reach of the weapons, but they're still a mite too slow for me to enjoy them compared to the excellent sword and shield and archery gameplay. But yeah, that game was pretty close to getting it right, especially with the Shout that increases attack speed.

Kicked Howe's ass - Oghren landed the killing blow, which will lend certain conversations in Awakening some extra flavor - and finagled a marriage between Anora and Alistair because Eamon really really wants his puppet on the throne and Anora isn't going to get her arse in gear finding a new husband unless we make her, and I really hate where that leaves Ferelden by the time of Inquisition and Trespasser. So for once Alistair's sniveling backside was allowed to stay sober and on Ferelden soil. It honestly wasn't until Loghain had my character flat on his back getting hacked to pieces that I realized just how much I've been relying on Morrigan's crowd control spells this playthrough, because that fight is usually a breeze with a rogue or mage or tank PC, even on Nightmare. I did manage to win in the end, after swallowing an embarrassing amount of Health Poultices and reloading and activating all my buffs before heading into the Landsmeet. Then I recruited him because Riordan thought it was a good idea, and let Alistair throw his hissy fit, and took him back to camp. And then, in honor of the late Arsinoe De Blassenville, and as has always been my way when recruiting Loghain, I gave him The Keening Blade as his weapon and threw a winged Grey Warden silverite helmet on his head first thing so he'd know which team he belongs to now. And jammed every map I'd found throughout Ferelden down his throat so he would talk to me on the trip to Redcliffe. This time I'd already gone through Return to Ostagar and Soldier's Peak with Alistair to remind myself of his and Wynne's vacuous comments about Cailan when Loghain isn't there to set the record straight. It's so hilarious how different those two reactions are. Alistair and Wynne: Omg! He was actually about to formalize an alliance with Orlais and put a century of war and strife and suspicion behind us all! Loghain: That fucking traitor! He was going behind my back to sell Ferelden out from under us, betraying his wife and all but surrendering his own country just to call himself Emperor! Heading into the finale next.

So I went and restarted my Warden...again...
Decided that Amell was the way to go after all, plan to make her an Arcane Warrior - Battlemage
At first I went with the name I'd been giving my past few Wardens (which is Raelyn) but then I got this gnawing feeling and decided to restart again and named her back to Minerva I also remade her in her initial color scheme of blonde hair and violet eyes. Back when I first made her she had a different hairstyle though, as for the hair+eye color combination...they were surprisingly inspired by a Disney princess. (digital cookie for the person to figure that out ) Minerva: *kicks down door and walks into the room with a sing-song voice* I'm back
I've yet to plan out most of her playthrough, as currently all she's done is complete her Harrowing and smashy-smashed Jowan's blood bottle I also did not rat out Jowan to Irving...'cause it's more fun that way

So I went and restarted my Warden...again... Do you... how often do you ever get to play DAII? Not that I don't get the appeal. Love making characters and getting started from scratch in an RPG. I really don't get why people have an issue with changing protagonists between games. By the time I get to the end of one, I'm usually itching to get finish their story and started on another character concept. Sometimes I even sacrifice my Warden to the Archdemon entirely just so I get to play a shiny new character in Awakening. To me, creating and getting to play a variety of cool guys and gals is one of the main attractions to starting a Dragon Age series run, while getting bored with my original character idea is the most likely reason for me to abandon Mass Effect mid-playthrough. Have battled through the darkspawn-occupied Denerim with Loghain, Leliana and Wynne in tow, and am about to confront the Archdemon. Ended up rejecting Morrigan's offer for a variety of reasons, partially because it would feel too much like betraying Leliana, partially because Hareas likes Morrigan a whole lot more than he understands or trusts her, and partially because it would be cowardice, and neither his nor Loghain's lives - or rather the lives they have to look forward to - are truly worth endangering anything over when it comes right down to it. Still haven't decided who's going to bite the Archdemon bullet, but I'm leaning towards Loghain. The Redeemer and Alistair' sacrifice are the only two endings I need to have unlocked every achievement in the game on Xbox 360. Maybe I'll play someone who romances Alistair next time around. Maker forbid. Leliana turned out to have been a good investment lategame after throwing most of my tomes of physical whatever into her build and gathering a lot of Rapid Fire gear. With Aim and Master Archer and Arrow of Slaying for mages she's been kicking serious ass since level 15 or so. (Am now lvl 22) I'll have to try and sweep those items before the end of the game if I want to take them into Awakening for Nathaniel and Hareas' own slight respeccing into a more focused archery build.

To me, creating and getting to play a variety of cool guys and gals is one of the main attractions to starting a Dragon Age series run, while getting bored with my original character idea is the most likely reason for me to abandon Mass Effect mid-playthrough. more then enough, trust me It's just that...I kept having doubts about what character to make, how to play them...that sort of thing.
Even right now I'm wondering about how to play Minerva, I've played her (and Amell/Surana in general) in a variations of ways in the past. I've had her romance Zevran, I had her as Alistair's mistress (even a few times with him married to Anora), another time I made him King alongside Anora as Queen and spared Loghain...not sure which route to go this time around though. I love Loghain, but I hate how mopey and angry Alistair gets at my Warden if I even dare to entertain the notion of giving the man a second chance. Granted, my previous Warden (my Tabris) despised Loghain for what he'd done in the Alienage...so he died and Anora got kicked off as well, but she's a good character as well.
and I love creating new characters too, but I'm greedy in a way that I want them all to exist in one happy world together, sadly that's not an option. With each game that comes out I get excited with the kind of character I can make next, I love all of my Dragon Age protagonists in their own way, even if they keep on changing. I do have a canon Shepard who I plan to replay when the LE launches, and I have a few concepts for a Ryder I want to try out...so I do keep busy. But my main problem is trying to stick with 'canon' characters, I've a few canon characters in other games though, but my DA ones keep giving me trouble.
My current idea is one I had in progress when Inquisition was going to launch, making a world state with badass human lady mages. I hope to finally get that one out of my system Must admi tshe's kind of cute. Don't know who you'er planning on romancing but I think she'd make a grea tpartner fo rAlistai rif you choose to keep him in the wardens rathe rthan make him King Aww thanks, just don't let her hear you say it...it'll go straight to her head
In terms of romance...I hadn't actually planned on having her romance anyone. I actually ship my Amell with Nathaniel, so she stays single these days As I noted above, I've played Amell in various scenarios in the past, I've gone the mistress route, had her leave Alistair, had her romance Zevran...but my last few have been without a romance, at least not a canon one.
And Alistair is my King...which is something that hasn't changed since my first playthrough. I do plan on maybe eventually making a playthrough where he stays a Warden, but we'll have to see and wait if I actually ever get around to that idea

In that particular moment Alistair really makes being a Warden as something only for the best. I remember my Brosca staring at him and questioning his sanity Yeah...also reminds me of Greagoir's words at the end of the Magi Origin 'a blood mage escapes, and his accomplice is not only unpunished, but rewarded by being made a Grey Warden' Oh sure...it's a bloody reward alright, nightmares for the rest of your life...a life which btw is 30 years give or take provided you don't end up dying sooner and that's provided if you even make it past the Joining in the first place! 'Cause you either die from the Joining itself...or you're shanked so that you don't reveal any secrets
Alistair is a good man, but he has a very idealized view of the Wardens...which is somewhat funny given most of them were criminals a little while back I found this comic (which I can't find atm.) with Alistair, Daveth, Jory and a Tabris Warden, which went somewhat like this: Jory: so let me get this straight you (Daveth) pick-pocketed Duncan Daveth: yep
Jory: and you(Tabris) killed an Arl's son and that's how you got recruited? Tabris: *quiet glaring at fire* Daveth: don't think she wants to talk about that Daveth: anyway...what'd you(Jory) do to get conscripted? Jory: *questioning his life choices* ...I won a tournament

Had a lovely moment atop Fort Drakon between my Hareas and Loghain. One a great patriotic hero, one a humble vagrant turned reluctant leader of people he's almost forgotten to despise, with neither of them having much to live for after the events of the game. Both knew that it would be one's duty to die, and one's to carry on fighting a bitter and losing battle to protect a stupid and ungrateful world, and die ignominiously and forgotten surrounded by monsters and fallen friends... After a brief exchange I allowed Loghain to take the final blow and regain his honor, and it was a really beautiful moment considering his views on the Grey Wardens and the darkspawn at the beginning of the story. Swallowing his words and taking responsibility for ending the threat himself, like a man. And finally saving the country he always loved. I've kept his personal item, the belt Borders Yet To Be, just to have around in the future. I really like the way the map reflects his "optimistic-some might say fanciful" dream for a secure and prosperous Ferelden with strong and rounded borders, as if anyone had a right to begrudge him of all people that thought. I think some part of Hareas will always wish that he had died on Fort Drakon instead, and wonder if Loghain wouldn't have been the better man to continue the fight in spite of all his flaws and missteps. But life must go on. Hareas also knows he should have asked Anora to make sure the Wardens were never forgotten again. He knows that that was the right thing to do, that it was his duty and that not doing so after such a short and - from an outside perspective - harmless Blight might be the difference between the world remaining wary and the next one getting through and swallowing up all life. But even though he knows those things, he just couldn't stomach dedicating the rest of his miserable life to the Grey Wardens without doing something, anything to help his people first. So he asked for some shitty and inhospitable land for the Dalish, for all the good it's going to do before some Ferelden noble or other decides to take it back again. And then he said thank you and goodbye to the friends who were leaving, received a grudging acknowledgement from Alistair, their friendship over, and then that was that. Onwards to Awakening! Bah. Do it enough times, and all you'll hear will be a big manbaby going 'Waaaah! Waaaah!', and then you can send him to the Free Marches until he grows up. Or rather, until Teagan shows up and drags him home again to undermine Anora or whatever. And you'll have a nice, shiny Loghain to take with you into Inquisition. And then you can have this glorious exchange: But yeah, it's hard to justify the decision to spare him as a City Elf. If it wasn't for city elves having murdered his father, Hareas would have had a much harder time with the idea as well. By the by, am I the only one who feels like the story about the Dalish Origins' parents is a little harsh? "Your dad was killed by poachers, and your mother abandoned you as a babe because she couldn't deal with it, and left us to disappear and die alone." Like, wow. Thank you, Bioware?

I don't think I've ever used one of the talent or skill point tomes on a companion. Don't feel bad. I don't usually either, but warriors aren't very talent-intensive compared to other classes, even hybrid warriors like my Hareas, and if you can make them effective quickly enough then the talent tomes are better used to amend the deficiencies in Leliana's and/or Zevran's default builds so you can get them viable as fast as possible. So you can start actually using them for more than lockpicking. Magical tomes went to Morrigan, obviously, and the skill and sundry ones can only be used by the Warden.

-snip- I love Loghain, but I hate how mopey and angry Alistair gets at my Warden if I even dare to entertain the notion of giving the man a second chance. Granted, my previous Warden (my Tabris) despised Loghain for what he'd done in the Alienage...so he died and Anora got kicked off as well, but she's a good character as well. An amazing ending to your Warden's story --
I think I might actually go the Alistair+Anora route this time around...as for Minerva's boon...well, we both know 'Circle independence' is moot anyway so I'll probably go the chancellor route...just so I can annoy Alistair some more (and pretend they use that time to somewhat reconcile, since during Awakening (6months later) he's at least a bit amicable)
and yeah, the Dalish origin is very sad...but most of the origins are sad with having one absent parent or another. Only city elf and dwarf commoner have one living parent, and in case of the latter it's a shitty one as well

So far Minerva has made her way through Ostagar, surviving the battle despite the odds recruited Morrigan and Fuzzball (the dog) to the group, then headed to Lothering intimidated the bandits outside the village and solved every squabble personally (as Morrigan put it) we've also dug up some news concerning Arl Eamon being sick, and the Templars at the Circle having send for the Right of Annulment in Lothering we've also recruited Leliana and Sten
Tomorrow I'll be heading over to Honnleath to get Shale and after that...hm...either Orzammar or the Circle I think Have I said I love how she looks? Well...I do

Has anyone... ever.... been able to create brown eyes in DAI's vanilla CC? Every time I try, they end up yellow/orange/red. Try to mute the color and it just makes it grey-yellow or grey-red. Hell, maybe that's why so many companions have grey or grey-tinged eyes.
I just want brown, not amber 😭

I've had the same problem as you, best I can get is going with orange and getting it as dark as possible.

How can you not include.... literally the most common eye color in the entire world. Wat. Guess I'll be going for dark orange too, lol.

here's an attempt I did just a few minutes ago (taken with 1920x1080 resolution full-screen border-less) also please excuse the random Isabela armor...it's a starting mod I have I do admit they look more brown-ish in the CC lighting though

Thank you for sharing. Your Inquisitor looks lovely! Still, they do strike me as more hazel-y. It just baffles me that literally the most common eye color (just brown!!) is so hard to recreate in the CC. It's like if they took away black/brown hair lol.

So Minerva went to Sulcher's Pass, got a free control rod for a golem...of course there was a catch, most free things have one turns out there was no golem with the rod, and said golem was in a village overrun by darkspawn. Minerva and co went down to the village of Honnleath, cleared it of darkspawn and attempted to activate the golem...didn't work, so they surveyed the rest of the village found some more darkspawn and several trapped villagers. Minerva saved the villagers, with one of them saying he knew the real activation phrase for the golem which he'd tell her if she'd safe his daughter. Welp...we'll do that, turns out the previous owner had several demons in his little hideout, and the daughter was playing a guessing game with one that had possessed a cat, lovely Minerva told the demon that she'd help it escape, if she'd leave the kid alone. Demon agrees, we solve a puzzle and demon tries to get back on its word...it died. Daughter safely back with her dad and we got the real activation phrase. So we went back outside, activated the golem calling itself Shale and we went on our merry way.
(Alistair: it could be dangerous, and large! Minerva: thank you for stating the complete obvious Alistair: you're welcome (still disapproves)
But then it came down to where to go first for our first main quest, at first went to the docks at lake Callenhad wanting to go to the Circle, and also to grab the first series of quests from the mage collective (also took down a deserter for the Blackstone Irregulars). But then I thought...eh, I actually want to take Oghren and Zevran with us into the Circle for their commentary, so turned back around and went up the mountains to Orzammar. Took out a side quest for the collective on our way there and got the Superman reference with the meteor ore.
At the Frostback mountains we met up with Faryn (who almost shat his pants upon seeing Sten who was in our party), and also some lovely entourage consisting of 'King' Loghain's royal wiper. Minerva intimidated the bloke back to the capital and gained access to the city of the dwarves. 'Course nothing is ever as easy as it seems, city in turmoil...dead King, that sort of thing. We managed to sort out most of the trouble there, opened up a Chantry, got back a book for the Shaperate...promised Dagna we'd help her take a request to the Circle. Also helped out Zerlinda, will be helping Filda...caught some nugs, and got one for Leli as a gift. Minerva decided to side with Bhelen, did his dirty work and eventually got enough of his trust to have us head into the Deep Roads to find Branka, got the company of Oghren on our way there.
So tomorrow I'll be doing the Deep Roads (yay ) and then head back to the Circle to safe them as well...will likely get ambushed by Zevran on our way there
