Have you guys ever come across a stranger who looks a lot like one of your characters and then struggled not to stare too much? Like "Ohhh... this is what they would look like if they were real!" or "This person could totally play him/her in a movie!" Not really for m e it' s the other way around. Sometimes I'll see someone and think they might make a decent model for an Inquisitor or a Shepard whatever game I'm playing and I create a character based off them or at least as close as the CC of the game will alllow. For example I did see a model on youtube and I based one of my Inquisitors off her. Made for quite a fun playthrough actually from what I remember of it.

Finally made my final decision concerning my DA world state, and went with my Amell as Warden after all So far I've finished up her origin story as well as Ostagar and she's just arrived in Lothering having intimidated the bandits into standing down will be going into Lothering tomorrow, after that Honnleath and probably Orzammar after that (mostly so that I can get that portion out of the way, and so I can get Oghren's little throwback during Awakening later on )
Will likely head over to the Circle after that, then Redcliffe...ending with Brecilian Forest, will likely do Return to Ostagar and Soldier's Peak somewhere in between, but might also leave the former for after the Landsmeet just so I can have Loghain's little rant as well.
'Cause yes, after much contemplating, Loghain is very much going to survive...at least until Inquisition

But as to what order I do the main quests that largely depensd on the warden I'm playing. Fo rexample I plan to start a nwe run soon as a Dalish Elven warrior so will probably do the Brescillian forest first after Lothering. Will likely do the Circle and Redcliffe after that and finsh with Orzammar. Itend t oleave Orzammar till last because like yo uwhilst I'd like to getit out of the way taking it on too early can make it a pain in the ass so I do ten dto leave it as late as possible in most playthrough's so I can level myself up as high as possible befoer going there. I do sometimes do Orzammar earlier but generaly only if I'm playing as a dwarf as it kind of makes sense tha twhatever my warden is that they would turn to their own kind first for help and build from there.

I've done a few 'as said in the DA Keep' playthroughs in the past, which is kinda like:
Redcliffe - Circle - Brecilian Forest - Orzammar, and then mush the three dlc's in between
but I kinda prefer taking the part that I dislike the most first so I can just get that out of the way. While I like Orzammar's aesthetic I despise the long part in the Deep Roads. Funny enough the Deep Roads Expedition is one of my favorite parts in DA2, and I kinda liked the Descent dlc in Inquisition as well
Usually I tend to play the Circle first, mostly when I'm playing a none mage so I can grab Wynne early. But with a mage I tend to have a more flexible playthrough. Especially since I downloaded the 'open lock spells' mod that allow me to open locks on a mage, and I won't have to go back to areas either because the spell comes in 3 strengths, one for early level locks, and the other two for higher level locks like the ones found in Orzammar and the Deep Roads. I still tend to take Leliana along on a mage though, but having a character who can 'melt' locks is kinda fun as well.
To be fair I just want to quickly get access to the Mana Clash spell so I can deal with pesky enemy mages

But yeah I liked the Descent DLC too as for me DAI didn't feel like a DA type game without a visit to the Deep Roads to kill some darkspawn so was kind of glad they gave us that.

Guys... I have a little roleplay question.
Back in DAO, I decided that in my canon world state, my Warden would spare Loghain and let him make the ultimate sacrifice.
The meta reason was that I wanted him to raise a normal child with Morrigan. The ingame reason was that he developed a little respect for Loghain during those final moments and that motivated the HoF to grant the Teyrn's wish.
But no matter how I look at it, it feels a little cowardly. Being brutally honest, what do you think?

Hm...good question One of my male Wardens (coincidentally a Dalish Warden) had the same dilemma, romancing Morrigan and not wanting to thrust a maybe malicious entity onto his unborn child. Him sparing Loghain was purely along the thought of 'the enemy of my enemy'...'cause he thought that hey, these people kinda (used to) respect him even if he did some highly questionable things in the past few months. But yeah, when Morrigan came to him with her plan, he refused to do the ritual because...we don't know anything about the old god's soul and who's to say it won't affect the child when it's born. Plus he'd killed Flemeth for her, who (according to what Morrigan read in her grimoire) wanted to force her soul onto Morrigan...so he also viewed it as highly hypocritical of wanting to force this onto their unborn child whilst Morrigan had fought tooth and nail to prevent her mother from doing the same to her. So yeah...that was my Warden's reasoning at the time. Speaking of which, I may need to replay him as my second canon world As for my current Warden...she's a chessmaster she does everything in order to have things go her way, even if to other people this seems like she's purely doing the right thing. (I mean she is, but she's highly calculating)
I even had this whole dialogue thing played out in my head that she head canon wise has with Anora when the latter asks for her support come Landsmeet. Went something along the lines of 'I know no one will thank me for anything because I'm a mage, but if I can secure victory for this country then I will do anything I can to achieve that goal. Even if that means I have to step on some toes'

But no matter how I look at it, it feels a little cowardly. The only reason I see "to feel cowardly" in this case (respect for Loghain as motivation let him do it) - GW cares about people's opinion and actually depends on it. It might feel "cowardly" if there is even a small chance for other reasons to be - afraid to die, others won't remember GW as a hero though he did a huge job to get an army. If is it meta game reason to stay with Morrigan - GW is just selfish. Maybe GW was ready to die to end the Blight, but here was an opportuity so why not use it. Loghain is a hero, and GW gets Morrigan.

But no matter how I look at it, it feels a little cowardly. Being brutally honest, what do you think? You may not be a hero - depends on your pt, but a coward? Let's look at the evidence (getting my Perry Mason hat on...).
By this point in the game you have faced death more times than you've celebrated birthdays (family included).
- As a raw recruit you battled your way through the Tower of Ishal
- You faced down Abominations and demons and blood mages (oh my!) to resolve the problems at the Circle
- Brecelian Forest. Werewolves. Revenants (some of these could be avoided, though).
- Dwarven politics and the Deep Roads, which one is more deadly?
- You're still alive and fighting.
- You could have easily (and justly) killed Loghain after winning the Landsmeet. Instead, he's with you, arguably the more difficult choice: can you really be sure he won't stab you in the back?
"Surviving doesn't mean not being a coward" I hear somebody say. Ok, then, answer these questions:
- In battle, did you routinely hang back and let your companions do the bulk of the fighting or were you right in there slashing, spellcasting, firing arrows?
- In Redcliffe, did you turn away or did you fight the dead men walking?
- Did you routinely avoid confrontations wherever possible? You could have left Honnleith before clearing it out. You could have not accepted a lot of side quests. Even if you couldn't avoid them, did you try to avoid them?
- Did you accept deals or lay down your weapons rather than fight?
- Even though the game forced certain paths on you, did you ever argue against those paths (I'm thinking back mostly to conversations with Flemeth after your rescue from the Tower of Ishal)?
There are logical reasons for letting Loghain kill the Archdemon. It's really just a delayed punishment from the Landsmeet. No matter how you slice it, he's too old to have become a Warden and probably won't be around for much longer. [IMO Inquisition stretched the point by having him as a possible Warden]. Somebody will have to deal with the aftermath (the darkspawn aren't just going to poof into nothingness, they have to get back to their holes and will cause trouble on the way) and Loghain is a liability, there's too much resentment over his actions. You know the end of your Wardenhood isn't going to be pleasant. I could argue death by killing the Archdemon is easier than a slow corruption ending in death.
Welp, those are my thoughts, fwiw.

So Minerva made her way through Honnleath, recruited Shale...then decided that she hadn't seen stone enough and headed over to Orzammar which is where I am right now...currently on the quest to deal with Jarvia, sided with Bhelen. I'll probably finish up the Orzammar quest line tomorrow, then head over to the Circle. 'cause despite all the rumors of something bad going on over there, I like to imagine Minerva being all 'I doubt they'll be happy to see me after the sh*t I pulled last time' (which is kinda true, and then she'll proceed to feel miserable for a while 'cause she wasn't there to safe her friends from Uldred's power trip )
Also I got distracted by npc's with mismatching armor/items so I went into the toolset to update my NPC gear mod (I still probably missed several)

@sonya Probably not, since Loghain had to argue a bit before my Warden accepted his request. And staying with my Morrigan is more my reason than my character's motivation. NorstaeraTrue, the other choices have to be taken in consideration before making a true assessment.

Staying with Morrigan is not the first motivation, so your GW is not afraid to die to end the Blight which is the end goal and it is his real motivation: do what GW must having no interest what others might think. Though it is also clear any GW can do that. You are ready to die, Loghain is ready to die. Why was your GW in argument with Loghain about that request? It was that moment when your GW felt "cowardly" for some reason?

Okay so...Minerva made her way through Orzammar and the Deep Roads, still have to go back there for a few quests later on though Oghren joined the team and met up with Felsi later on when we went to Lake Callenhad On the way to the Circle we got ambushed by Antivan Crows so Minerva decided to have one of them join her little group, ergo Zevran joined us as well. Currently at the Circle, Minerva argued quite a bit with Greagoir's decision to shut down the doors, but decided to do his work for him and scout out the tower in search of survivors and her old mentor First Enchanter Irving. Wynne turned out to have returned from Ostagar safe and sound and was protecting several mages who'd survived the fighting. After some talking she decided to help Minerva. So yeah...going to tackle the Circle tomorrow

What can I say, I love playing through forest levels. For example, in Inquisition my favorite area is the Emerald Graves...but I also love the Storm Coast and the Fallow Mire.
I can't wait to see what kind of areas we'll get to explore in DA4

What can I say, I love playing through forest levels. For example, in Inquisition my favorite area is the Emerald Graves...but I also love the Storm Coast and the Fallow Mire.
I can't wait to see what kind of areas we'll get to explore in DA4
Yeah they dodo a really good job with the forest/woodland levels. It really took my breath away the first time I saw the Hinterlands in DAI. It reminded me of a park I used t ovisit growing up. Not suer what I would asy my favouriet zone in DAI is to visit as they all have their charms and they all have something I like about them. The cutscene that introduces Skyhold still takes my breath away. Looking forward to playing the games again afte rI've finished Andromeda. I would say my favouriet level would probably be Adamant though the Grey Warden lebvel was really well done I thought but then tha twhole Hawke questline was really good and definitely one of my favourite parts of the game.

Today Minerva saved the Circle of Magi...and got minor depression because of it. I head canon she mopes around a bit after this due to her not having been there to safe her friends. Also...Cullen's choice of words would haunt her for quite a while She eventually does forgive him, but it takes her quite a bit to come to terms with what happened. After doing that I traveled back to Orzammar to finish up a few quests there, such as Dagna's and Shale's companion quest. Back at the camp Morrigan revealed some less then happy things about her mom, and asked Minerva to kill her. Er...sure, we'll do that...eventually. At present I'm at Redcliffe, and we'll be saving the town tomorrow. After that I think I'll go and do Return to Ostagar and kill Flemeth as well while we're at it. I had thought of leaving the quest of for end-game so I could have Loghain in the squad, but I kinda like having Alistair wear Cailan's old armor after his 'revelation' of him being heir to the throne. Kinda gives him a unique outfit...but also leaves Minerva as the only one in Grey Warden garb. But head canon-wise that also works, since by the time the Landsmeet rolls around she's the only 'real' Warden left, at least until Loghain is recruited.
So yeah, I'm slowly going toward the end of the game

Strangely enough so am I I love using the Golem form in that section and using it to punch the Ogre in the nether regions With ergards the lighting I must admit DAI looks gorgeous with ray tracing. I know tha tgame was buil tbefoer tha ttec hcame int obeing but it really works well. Even Skyhold looks gorgeous with it.

I'm one of those weirdos that loved the Fade -- For example, in Inquisition my favorite area is the Emerald Graves Probably my favourite as well - in no small part to lighting there and Chateau d'Onterre. Same, I mean...I can't understand why people hate it...at least it's not as tedious as the Deep Roads (at least for me), especially when you get a hand on the rotation of which areas to go to in order to maximize the forms you get. Took me a few tries to understand them, but it's actually pretty straightforward Raw Fade > Burning Tower > Mages Asunder > Darkspawn Invasion and then clean up all the areas. I like to go back to the first area to grab the willpower thingy, and then I just go through all of them to grab the points and kill the demon leaders Kinda hate how Wynne is always mandatory for that part though, her Fade nightmare has to be one of the more boring ones (this time around I had Zevran and Oghren with me) --
Chateau d'Onterre...is that the one with the spooky lights and all the undead? I kinda liked that one too, even if I'm not normally one for spookiness

So finished up in Redcliffe today, took care of the undead...flirted with Bann Teagan and rescued Connor from the demon by whooping it's ass by entering the Fade, Minerva even had a little fun with the demon. No no, not in that way...let's just say she was very good at manipulating it.
What I did was having the conversation with the demon, letting it think we'd take her offer...but at on point Minerva was like 'nah' and we kicked it's butt .
After that we headed to Denerim, took care of some side quests, and also did Alistair's companion quest. Took out some thugs, met with Isabela (Minerva didn't sleep with her though)...and some other quests. Also pissed of 'Weylon' who got mad at Minerva not falling for his ploy, I still went to Lake Callenhad for the ambush though...gotta grab the exp.
After being there we headed over to Ostagar, mowed through some darkspawn and gave King Cailan a proper funeral service. Then went over to Flemeth's hut, and 'killed' her...Alistair got the finishing move on her.
Done there we delivered Flemeth's real grimoire to Morrigan, then headed over to Haven to get the Urn of Sacred Ashes, will be finishing that up tomorrow, and administer it to Eamon as well. After that I'll likely head over to either Soldier's Peak or the Brecilian Forest, haven't decided yet.
