Nice I'll b eskipping the expansions on my playthroug hbut that's mainly because I'm planning m ywarden to go down the ultimate sacrifice ending. you can still play them with a workaround...but I can also understand skipping them Yeahj I know I can pla ythem wit han Orlesian Warden but it jus tdoesn' tfee lright playin gthem down that route it feels like it should be played with a warden who survives the Blight rather than an Orlesian one at least for me. I don't mind though as it's nice to have the option. I do and have played the expansions I'm just going to be skipping them on this run due to how I've planned this warden out.

At any rate, just finished up the two dlc's...I hate Golems of Amgarrak, the Harvester fight is so annoying
Going to start with a DA2 run tomorrow...probably a rogue but I'm going to sleep on it a bit

Yeah most of mine survive bu tsometimes I do one that jus tgoes through the base game this one is just goin gto be on eof those playthrough's really. But yeah the comba tin those DLC's can be tough Witch Hunt is quiet eas ybut Golem's is hard I did discover recently a way to make it a little bit easier though in that I found a terminal near where the Harvester spawns that when the room turns red if you can getto it fast enough you can stop the corpses from spawning enabling you to focus moer on the Harvester itself. My plan for this run is 2 elven warriors wit ha Hawke mage in between. As bo thm yWarden and Inquisitor aer both going to be elven warriors.

To be fair, I kinda prefer mage Hawke due to liking Carver better...but I kinda like changing things up once in a while as well plus, Bethany is much easier to get along with...literally

TBH Carver kind of reminsd me of the relationship m eand m ybrother had growing up as h ewas always moe rthe troublemaker in our family. He is moe rmatuer now but he still has his moments from time t otime despite being in his 40's now. But yeah sometimes I do wonder what my life would hav been like if I had a sister rathe rthan a brother as I d olike Bethany she's quiet a powerful and efficient little mage oin DA2 as I tend to use her a lot in the points in the game I can as she's quite the little firecracker in combat. I lik et ohave on eof m ycharacters at least be different from the other 2 so that's going t obe Hawke this time around. I normally pregfer to play mages and rogues but seeing as it's been a while since I played any warriors I don' t mind having 2 of them this time.

So I've made a start on my Hawke in DA2 Her name is Nimue, she's a rogue... at first I wanted to go with Assassin as her specialization, but after reading the descriptions I thought Shadow fit her better
the description for the specialization reads that many rogues (and smugglers) in Kirkwall have knowledge of this, and since my Hawke joined Athenril...I thought it was a good fit
At an rate, so far I've finished up several side quests, cleaned up the mercenaries for Sebastian's quest (still need to turn it in) finished up Birthright instantly maxing out Bethany's friendship...also made a start on Aveline's personal quest but I'll finish that tomorrow Currently on Sundermount to turn over Flemeth's amulet and to recruit Merrill, will finish that tomorrow, then recruit Isabela, Anders and Fenris (in that order) after that it'll be side quest and main quests mainly

Plan to play Redcliffe and the mage tower next when I do get back to it.

sarcasm runs in the Hawke family it seems *first visit to Gallows* Fenris: is it wise of us to be here...considering who we're with? *nods for Bethany* Hawke: [purple option] aww don't worry, I'm sure the templars won't be surprised to see another mage here, do you? Fenris: hm...maybe not Bethany: *dryly* I'll try to avoid setting the place on fire Hawke: ...you're not helping
At any rate, I've just finished up recruiting everyone ('cept for Sebastian)...and now I'm just finishing up Act 1 quest, already gave Bartrand the money I mean...it's way too easy to get the 50 sovereigns together

Plus I love purple!Hawke's comment to Dougal in that Act 2 quest Hawke: *about Leandra* she spends her time making poison and cake...please tell me you didn't try the cake (would've been hilarious if there'd been actual cake and one of Dougal's henchmen looking very worried about whether or not they'd just been poisoned )

Nah, you clearly don't purchase enough shit from merchants throughout Act1. And I say this as someone who never ever spends money on the garish circle-styled robes.

The only things I tend to buy are the backpack upgrades and the two armor upgrades for Aveline and Varric though I might buy that expensive talent tome from Hubert this time around...

Saved the mage tower and Conno rtoday and currently hunting down the Urn of Sacred Ashes for Eamon.

Just did Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts twice in a row because I forgot to lock my romance before starting the quest and dancing with them on the ball is one of those roleplay moments you just can't skip.

Man... imagine how cool it would be if we could have an animation like the first 10 seconds of this opening, but featuring the Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor instead.

Today I started to download Inquisition again and probably will be next weekend before I get time to play, but I have never finished the DLC for Inquisition and been meaning to start a new game for years. My PC died just after Descent was released and never went back to the game even with re-installing it multiple times.
To try and keep my interest this time, I am going to also aim for completing the trial achievements along the way. Now with a caveat where I found a guide to indicate where to turn on the features for each trial so I don't have to play the entire game multiple times. Also going to play a mage (maybe rift mage at the specialization point) where in my only other playthrough I played a rogue where I felt like I was cheating at the end as an artificer.
Finally I posted my intent here so maybe that will give me some drive as well. I am definitely not aiming for a 100% game and I will make sure I load up my old save and make use of the Golden Nug so I have all the crafting recipes already done.

I mean...it's way too easy to get the 50 sovereigns together The best way is to get gold, loot and exp: - in the very beginning talk to the smugglers but take a bribe: thus after I can kill Athenril at night - join the mercs - take in the quest from Meeran and not to finish it - tell Meeran the truth so after at night I can kill him - even with 50 gold sill take Dougal's gold so after the Deep Roads I could kill him What it more important here: additional exp and loot so it is easier to buy what I need and finish the build (without DLC stuff and cheats). Plus - get rid of those assholes to make the city a better place.

Plus - get rid of those assholes to make the city a better place. heh, I tend to do it a bit differently...usually anyway
- talk to the mercenaries, accept the guy's bribe in the prologue, tell Meeran I failed (so that he comes after me in Act 1)
- join Athenril so I can still keep the gold I got from the other guy's bribe - do Athenril's quest as normal, but refuse first time around if I have Carver as the sibling - tell the kid to keep the goods (scoring approval from Bethany/Carver and Aveline) - lie to Athenril...since I tend to have enough coin by that point anyway - get 'ambushed' by Meeran during the night and finish him and his guys for the exp, loot and coin
as for making Kirkwall a better place...we already do that don't we? I tend to nickname Hawke's team the 'cleaning crew' of Kirkwall
even without cheats, or items that boost coin finding it's far too easy to get 50 gold if you just go through every container and do all the quests plus the gang cleaning, even junk items can fetch a fair bit of coin.

... you could also not lie to Athenriel so she will ambush you as well and you get both. (Like Sonya's route, just the other was around...) I like to do this with Hawkes who, despite all the Act1 stuff, have little patience for seedy underworlders. As for making Kirkwall a better place... well, I would ask Viscount Varric as of 9:40-something if something came of it. To be honest, I'm actually less interested in gold or even loot (the best stuff is usually either tied to specific places or modded in, except perhaps for Cold-Blooded and the Ring of the Ferryman, these are true cash-gates), but I'm a sucker for XP and talent/attribute points. At times, I did reload when hitting a trap. Traps shouldn't give XP, it messes with gaming OCD.
Oh, and I like that freckleface you made up there. My readhead Hawke gets jealous.

Yea heven if 6you're playing an honest Hawke it's easy to ge tth ecoin you need as you don't really need t obyu anything tbh as you can make d owitheverything you loot or use stuff in the DLC boxes it's no ttha thard t6o negotiate Act1. Once you get t oAct 2 thou8gh it is a different story as you will need t ostoc kup on things like healt hpotion amnd things then as that's when things can turn sour. Especially when it comes t ofighting the Qunari and al that and o fcourse there's that High dragon in Act 3 as well. I have finished DAO though I haven't got round to starting my DA2 playthrough yet thou8gh I plan to start DA2 tomorrow so long as everything goes according to plan. Mus tadmit I'm looking forward to wielding some magic with Hawke.

Oh, and I like that freckleface you made up there. My readhead Hawke gets jealous. Fair point, I might do that with my next Hawke... And traps are evil...especially the ones in the Deep Roads in that room with the ogre...you need 30 cunning to spot them all, usually Varric doesn't have 30 by the time I get there
And thanks, I like her too...it's funny 'cause my Tabris also has freckles oh and a cheek scar 'cause...she's a rogue For me it's a bit of a rule that rogues (and warriors) need at least some scars to reflect them getting hit more often.
