I finally created a new character in DAI.
Lady Lavellan, dual wielding Rogue. She doesn't want the anchor. She doesn't want to be the Herald. But she's going to try to stop the Rifts and stuff because not doing so is stupid. She's not super raw-raw Dalish. I'm thinking playing her as if she wanted to go "solo" away from the clan for a while and that's why the Keeper sent her there.
That means she's kinda confrontational so far. I also want her to hate Solas's guts...because I never managed to punch him. I tend to play "make everyone happy" character.
She might end up being a bit trollish too. She should get along with Sera... Lets see how terrible the Lavellan/Sera romance is (I've been reading about it and people do have Opinions on it).
So far I only did the prologue and unlocked the Black Emporium ASAP, because her eye color annoyed me. BioWare doesn't seem to learn about bad lightning color in character creator, they are changing the one in SWTOR and the Imperial version has some red lighting...

Nice planning on an elven mage when I nex tgo back in but in m ycase she'll be a moe rtypical dalish girl wh okind of despiet being a bit nrevous around humans and especially templars given she's heard the stories ends up falling for one in Cullen. It is going t obe a moer typical playthroug hfo rme but that's mainl ybecause mt ylas twas a very untypical one.

The adventures of Valyriel Lavellan in Thedas continue. I'm still tempted to romance Josephine with this character despite planning to do Sera/Lavellan. Well try, as all my previous attempts failed. I'm annoyed that the female Dalish Scout armor use Merrill's armor from DA2. I much prefer the male version (based on Athenril's armor in DA2) but I haven't found a mod that swap it. So far I managed to be scared of Leliana because I told her dealing with traitors fast was a good idea. And I've managed to avoid +approval from Solas so far (yeah), but I can't dump him from my party until I get Dorian which is a long way off. I'm not going to recruit Vivienne after meeting her. I want to put Leliana on the Sunburst throne, not having Vivienne around will help I hope, but telling Vivienne she can't come is a must. Valyriel is currently doing mundane tasks in the Hinterland to help the refugees/Inquisition around the Crossroad after talking to a sister there. It's all about making the Inquisition look better. The sister told her to go see the rest of the Chantry in Val-Royaux too, but it's a long trip and that mean horses. But there is an army of templars and mages attacking everything that move between the Crossroad and the Horsemaster. That means more clean-up for Valyriel. Valyriel kinda wish she could just throw daggers at the Breach and be done with it, she's cleaning-up humans crap right now... ---- I crafted a pair of curved daggers and it's a bit weird to use, but things die fast. Then I read online that the best daggers were something else and the schematic was on the Emporium. I didn't have it via the Golden Nug so I loaded another character, bought the schematic, synched via the Nug and...now need more leather.

Hit a bit of a block the last week or so. My back has been bothering me so I have been stuck in the Western Approach. I have about half the map cleared, but still finding that there isn't much of a draw for Inquisition for to want to go back. If anything right now its mostly the fact I bought the DLC and don't want to waste that money is a bigger draw.

That's not required to finish the game, the only thing you have to do there is a small encounter for Here Lies the Abyss. The dragon and Still Ruin might be of interest, but that's about it. Everything else on that zone is lore or references to the novel Asunder.

I still find it a fun area and an easy place to go level up I guess as asid efrom the dragon the area is no ttha thard t oclear and even th edragon isn't tha thard so long as you have a good ice staff for the mages given it's a fire dragon. For me it's more the dales maps that slow me down most.

It has been helping me along.

I killed the High Dragon in DAO with only traps. I basically stacked them and when he landed on them... well he had no health left to get into a fight.

Especially in DAI since they are just chilling and not bothering anyone and we just hunt them down for ironbulls amusment.

For example given Redcliffe isn' tfar from the Ferelden Frostback so in this instanc eyou could be justified killin gthat one. Possibl ythe 3 in the Emprise as wel considering they'er quiet closte to Sahrnia. The desert ones yeah it's hard t ojustify killing them. I mostly kill them for their loot though . Especiasll ythat Highland Ravager that drops a really decent armour that's cool for mages.

It has been several years since I have played DA:I, but I decided yesterday to give it another go. Instead of playing from scratch, I have found a character who didn't play the Deep Roads and Trespasser yet. I can tell you that returning to the game after many years is harder than I thought. I had to figure out how to play the game again and why I got so many Snoufleur skins.

Well, after getting completely sidetracked and completing the entirety of Assassin's Creed 2 within a week, I've decided to return to Dragon Age and get back on track with my current playthrough of DAI. Right now, Sera, Dorian, Bull and I are in the Forgotten Caverns below the Deep Roads. If you come into this DLC adequately leveled and prepared, it's honestly a ton of fun! It's just challenging enough to keep me from getting bored without being so hard I want to throw my controller at the screen. Managed to carve through all the darkspawn in Heidrun Thaig without a single party member falling in combat (except for Dorian, but I have Kitty's Collar on him so that doesn't really count I guess), and since all of my abilities have little to no cooldown time, it was super satisfying hammering away at the 'spawn. This Inquisitor is, to date, the only one I've finished the game + all DLCs with. The difference this time being that I'm playing with a custom world state for the first time. Despite the Inquisitor having a pretty limited ability to express their personality, I've become weirdly attached to this one lol. I've taken sooo many screenshots of her! ... I maaay have also started another playthrough of Origins because I have the attention span of a walnut. This time I'm romancing Morrigan with a Dalish rogue. please tell me I'm not the only one who has multiple playthroughs of each game going at the same time

Deleted my male Lavellan mage, despite having reached as far as reaching Skyhold, clearing the map in Crestwood, including the dragon, and later taking the fort in Western approach. The reason is that I romanced Dorian... I sorta liked the story, but... he's a Dalish elf, with a Tevinter noble lover. Initially, I picked that path to begin with, but as I played it through, the more and more... wrong that pairing felt. Human, dwarf, even Qunari work better in my head, but it just felt like there's an unspoken, uncomfortable, power dynamic at play there given what social station elves usually hold in Tevinter..
Started a moderately conservative, religious human mage who grows (only a abit, but still more) open-minded (thanks to Solas), and going to go with a playthrough with a Vivienne divine, Josephine romanced which I haven't done in years now. Usually pick mages, and usually free mage alliance, so will probably pick either templar or bound mages to make DViv more likely.

I've finished both Descend and Trespasser with the character I mentioned earlier. I like the setting of Trespasser more, but I dislike the story. It feels like BW wanted to kill the Inquisitor in that DLC. I do like the Jaws of Hakkon, though. An important ingredient to me is the crafting, which I spend too much time on. I am considering to start a new character from scratch, but I know it will take me a silly amount of time to do so. I am a slow player and take my time for everything. A DAI game will take me somewhere between 150 and 200 hours. So that is holding me back.

But I agree that being a slow player it makes starting a new game hard. The hinterlands is the worst for this though as replaying it is always very tedious.

I liked jaws of hakon but I rarely play it anymore because you can't play it until your super leveled up. But I agree that being a slow player it makes starting a new game hard. The hinterlands is the worst for this though as replaying it is always very tedious. I usually play JoH after the main story, and by then I have reached a high level anyway, so that is no problem. I don't mind playing the Hinterlands, though. I simply don't do silly quests, like the one with the cow. Some other quests there are not interesting, but I am heading that way anyway, so I am fine with those. And in the grand scheme of things the Hinterlands are only a small part of the game. It is just the overall time investment that makes me scratch my head. If a job takes 40 hours a week then a DAI game takes me 4 to 5 weeks full-time. Edit: I am not making the point that the game should be shorter. I like the way it is. I have already played it 10 times.

I have beaten it a bunch of times as well which is probably why the hinterlands gets on my nerves.

Yeah I've usually reached a high enou ghlevel to attack the DLC's if I do the main quests in al of the main game maps first that and got up to and past Here lies the Abyss and Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts

It is just the overall time investment that makes me scratch my head. If a job takes 40 hours a week then a DAI game takes me 4 to 5 weeks full-time. Same. Before any DLC, a full PT would take me about 6 wks. With them tacked on, it was up to 8 wks. I have a very hard time not doing everything. I just don't enjoy the game as much when I skip over stuff.

I have been busy and temporarily abandoned Dragon Age: Inquisition. I probably won't be able to really dedicate any time until the New Year. I am making sure I remember where I have left off for if I lose that connection I might not be able to start again.
