Sal nodded to Kalia and joined her and Aleeta in checking on the slaves. He trusted that Delan and Kato would be along soon. The slave pens were kept in a room away from all the fighting they had just been through. To his surprise, his omnitool bleeped and Kalia and Aleeta left to check on the captives. Checking it, he found the document from Kato. The Drell had been doing his own hacking of the leaders omnitool. Good man. What he read was startling. These were not slaves. They were test subjects. For what purpose he could not guess. The attached file did appear to be corrupted, so he ran a cleaner on it and set it to Larry to see if he could do anything with it. He joined the others in checking on the captives. They wre malnourished, but otherwise mostly unharmed. Likely the Black Suns were instructed not to harm them too much. Living test subjects were more valuable than dead ones. To what end though? Maybe that file would provide the answers they needed to proceed. The freed captives thanked them profusely. They requested an escort out, which Sal readily agreed to. Once everyone was together again, Sal thanked Kato for the information, and shared it with the others. One of the captives eyes widened. "You mean to tell me, they were going to od experiments on s? Torture us? " The man shuddered. "batarian slave might ahve been more preferrable. Thank you again for helping us escape." [OOC Tagging GeneralXIV My next post will be back at base to talk to Larry about that file Kato found. ]

[OOC: Sorrrryyyyyyyyyyyy for the delay! This basically speaks for both Kalia and Aleeta because behind-the-scenes colab was happening with Space Cowboy and DragonRacer , so yeah... it will be @tzeenchianapostrophe next!] Kalia practically bounced towards the room where the slaves were held. Once inside, Aleeta busied herself with methodically going cell by cell to remove the prisoners' bindings and directed them towards the lockers where at least some of their stolen gear might remain. "That was amazing!" Kalia grinned, "Did you see the way I landed on the top of the mech?" Her attention changed to Aleeta, "And getting a smoke bomb through the hole in the glass... it was so perfect. Easily one of the top three moments of my life. That was so much fun. You know, we should do this again some time. Take on a different gang. I mean, sure someone died, but we didnt really know him anyway so its fine, right? Im not usually someone who murders, but I could get used to this. Taking on gangs, getting lots of money... its fun." Aleeta's face immediately soured, and she turned to scowl at Kalia. "Really, human? A teammate sacrifices his life for our group and your response is to simply laugh it off because we haven't all been together for a while?" The Cabal narrowed her eyes. "I'll be sure to remember that if you're the next to die. No big deal because none of us are bosom buddies, right?" Kalia frowned at her response. Why would someone dying, when they were essentially a complete stranger, bother anyone? The Black Suns mercenary she had met in Afterlife had tried to get her to pay him, which was a kind of business arrangement. Was she supposed to feel bad that he had probably died in their raid? How far did it go? Would it go for store clerks she happened to talk to, people she happened to meet, people she stole from? People died every day. It was just a fact of life. Strangers dying seemed a stupid thing to get upset over, and the way she phrased it sounded like she was calling her out. But if she died, she wouldnt expect anyone in the group to be upset. And she wouldnt want anyone to be upset. She had to admit, though, she might make a few less jokes if someone who wasnt Justice had died instead. The guy dragged her around by her hair, what was she supposed to do? Cry? Spend her time mourning instead of just having fun and getting along with her life? Where was the sense? Kalia made an expression of mock sadness, "So does that mean we're not besties? I have to say, Im pretty hurt. I thought we were close! And hey, I complimented your aim. Whats with focusing on the negative, huh? Whats with that?" Aleeta turned her back on her. Maybe she was giving her the silent treatment. Not exactly surprising, they seemed pretty different in terms of attitudes. In fact, she seemed pretty different to most others in the group in terms of her outlook on things. Sal looked at her, eyes blinking or a moment. "It is difficult to accept losing someone who I hired for a job. I feel responsible. We Salarians do process grief quickly though." "Aside from that," he added, "It was an a amazingly well timed series of events. And we do have one last task to take care of. We can discuss it once we arrive back at the base. After that, I imagine we can find more targets. Omega is full of them." "That sounds suspiciously not like a strip club," she pointed out. "I'm sure there will be at least a few remaining Black Suns splinter cells or outposts," Aleeta said, casting a brief glance over her shoulder at Sal. "I'd be all for wiping their existence off this asteroid." One of the human male slaves, now donning body armor, approached Aleeta. "If you guys decide to do that, let me know," he offered. "I wouldn't mind a little payback." After a brief pause, he pointed at the pistol holstered on the Turian's waist. "Served you well, it seems?" Aleeta glanced down and grabbed the borrowed Carnifex. "Yes, it did," she answered, giving him a smile as she handed the weapon back to its rightful owner. "And as far as payback, you can help us escort everyone out safely for now." Once all the slaves were out of their pens and something close to alright, they started to head back towards the main part of the facility to meet up with the rest of the group. Once there, Sal shared something pretty interesting. They werent slaves, so much as test subjects. "Probing," she said, "I bet its probing. It has to be, right? Its always probing. I mean, did you see some of the guys in here? They are totally probers." Apparently the situation was a little worse than she thought. One of the captives didnt take Sals news too well. "You mean to tell me, they were going to do experiments on us? Torture us? " The man shuddered. "Batarian slave might have been more preferable. Thank you again for helping us escape." "Its fine!" she responded, "No problem. Well, it was a little problem. Theres ammo to consider, risk of death, a weapon which needs replacing, I was also shot in the arm... but nothing credits from a grateful customer wont fix." She let him worry for a moment before adding, "Im kidding! Go enjoy your life now you wont be probed, tortured, experimented on, you know, anything like that."

Once they exited the warehouse that had served as the now defunct base of operations for the Black Sun, the prisoners once again expressed their gratitude, and then went their separate ways. Sal led the team back to their transportation, and they were soon off to their own base. As Sal stepped into their safehouse, Larry approached with a datapad. "Hey boss, look at this." he nodded to the others, and smiled at Kalia. "We are still cataloging all the stuff we looted, but it's looking good. That file you sent though.." Larry added. "What was it?" Sal asked. "The encrypted part? It was corrupted, but I managed to pull off a bit. Lets get set up on the living room and I'll bring it up." Sal watched with interest as Larry brought up a few disjointed video clips on the large screen. The clips showed a few Batarians being led away in chains, strange aliens that Sal didn't recognize appeared to be leading the prisoners onto a shuttle. The aliens looked bug-like, with a large flat head covered in chitin, lined with two eyes on each side. The eyes were placed in a horizontal line rather then pairs stacked in top like a Batarian. Each alien carried a rifle type weapon that was strikingly similar to the tech they had recovered. Almost organic looking. "Near as I can figure," Larry narrated, "This appears to be a threat directed at the Black Suns leader to obey their demands, or else. Maybe the relationship soured for whatever reason? And here are the demands the aliens were making." Larry swapped slides, showing the list, in Common, of demands. "They weren't only looking for humans. They demanded specimens of all types, for who knows what sick purpose." Sal looked at the others, and back to Larry. "Do we know who these aliens are? Where they come from?" "Yes. No. Maybe." Larry amended lamely. "I did an image search on a captured face from the video clip. Came up with this:" A extranet page came up, obviously part of some conspiracy nut's ramblings. "They're real, I tell you. Collectors. They took my sister. Bug-like aliens that can stun their victims, put them in stasis, for who knows what purpose! The guards won't believe me, but I know what I saw! They are coming! Coming for us all!" The page came with a crude drawing of the same alien, but this time with glowing yellow eyes, its body surrounded by crackling energy. Sal cleared his throat. "Well then, it seems we need to be prepared. Has anyone else heard of these collectors? Are they holding Batarian hostages as the video clip suggested? Or are those individuals long dead. In any case I suspect they are out of reach for us. Even if I was inclined to save Black Sun prisoners." Sal smirked and continued. "Either way, I'm looking forward to chasing these aliens off the station. I don't know what they are up to, but they are plainly dangerous. The video and other imformation hints at their abilities. The stasis, if real, is a concern. They are bound to have advanced weapons like what we've found previously. At some point, Black Suns were successfully trading prisoners for tech. At the very least we can obtain their offerings ourselves and get out before these 'Collectors' can retaliate further against us." "Opinions? Strategies? What do you all think?" Larry shushed them and checked his omni tool. "Hold that thought. I installed proximity sensors, after our friend Kalia's appearance." He looked pointedly at Kalia, "One just went off. Front door. Someone's approaching!" "Who is it?" Sal asked, perhaps futilely. He prepared a weapon discreetly as they waited for the intruder to get closer. [OOC Tagging @tzeenchianapostrophe ]

Discussions about 'Collectors' were making little sense to Delan. Hardly an expert in Xenobiology, most alien races fitted neatly into the category 'taller', as far as the Volus was concerned. Specific races were then sub-divided by whether they were trying to swindle, ignore or kill him. Delan felt a warm sense of legitimacy, even as he stood at the back of their little group, after today's events he felt like his own Volus, absent-mindedly patting his newly acquired Executioner pistol at his hip... If 'Blasto the Hanar SPECTRE' could be a heroic figure, then so could 'Delan, Space-Mercenary' An image of the Volus, in a confident pose adorning a vid-poster flickered through Delan's mind; he chuckled (well, wheezed to be more precise). Snapped out of his day-dreaming, the imminent arrival of a visitor to their safehouse was alerted, and Delan quickly pulled his Shuriken to readiness, and took position behind a table...

Kalia noticed Larry smiling at her so returned the favor, giving him a little wink. The moment the screen lit up with a vid, she watched with a frown on her face. The subject of the clips looked like giant bugs. They walked on two legs, had four eyes... looked pretty creepy, and not just because they were some kind of slavers. They were surely the reason why the black suns had test subjects, but why? Larry said that they had wanted specimens of all types. All races? There were definitely lots of variety in the people they had freed. "Theyre obviously trying to narrow something down," she mused, "The only reason why you would be stupid enough to start with an unfocused sample size is if you dont know what youre looking for. If they knew what they were looking for they would start with something smaller, like one species, right? So its obvious theyve only started collecting specimens... or that theyre really, really stupid bugs. Which hey, its always possible." Even when the creatures were identified, the news didnt seem much better than bugs who did weird experiments. In fact, it got worse. "So we have some creepy looking bug guys who do weird experiments and freeze people? Oh, great. Am I the only one who has a bad feeling? I think we need a giant bug swatter, or one of those death mechs the black suns had. Or a death mech wielding a giant bug swatter, although that might be overkill. Im surprised those guys actually made it on to Omega. You would think someone would have noticed... unless they noticed, but didnt care. Or if they were taken and probed. Or bribed. But someone will know something. If I made a deal with one of them, Id have all the power. They would be the ones reaching out to me for specimens, but what would be stopping me from telling everyone about them? They dont look like the kind of guys who want to be found, which is why they would hire people to collect test subjects for them, so Im thinking whatever they offered in return for specimens and silence must be worth some serious credits, and the first thing Id do would be to try and sell it. We should try the markets, maybe? See if anyone has come across some strange tech recently or if someone wanted it appraised?" She laughed at herself, "I would make the best detective." Larry suddenly shushed her and checked his Omni-tool. "Hold that thought. I installed proximity sensors, after our friend Kalia's appearance. One just went off. Front door. Someone's approaching!" "Its cute you think motion sensors would stop someone like me," she told him quickly. With her sword broken and absent, and her lack of actual training with guns, and the fact she wanted to conserve ammo for her pistol as the raid on the black suns had used most of her thermal clips, she was fairly sure she hadnt got many options when it came to the intruder. Other than surprise, of course. If it was some remaining part of the black suns seeking revenge, the last place she wanted to be was aiming a gun in their direction in plain sight like the others looked to be, even in cover. Her eyes fixed upon a wooden shelf on the wall, and decided that would do. A solid, blunt object. If she positioned herself right, she could swing it and buy the team inside valuable time by making a distraction as soon as the door opened. She took the items on the shelf and put them on the floor, not wanting to ruin the safe house too much if the person happened to be a friendly. If it was a collector or a black sun on the other hand... She ripped the shelf from the wall, holding it in both hands. Kalia cloaked, taking cover beside the door, hidden so if the door opened, they wouldnt see her straight away. She prepared to swing, although she was concerned about how effective her makeshift... who was she kidding, it wasnt even a makeshift. It was something which was supposed to hold books or ornaments. Maybe it hadnt been the best choice, but she still had her gun, just in case. [OOC: DragonRacer ]

Aleeta watched the blurry video footage and felt an involuntary shiver run up her spine, blue blood running cold. That had almost been her. If not for the efforts of the group - and the ultimate sacrifice by Justice - she'd have become some sort of twisted science experiment. Death, she was at peace with and, on some days, almost welcomed it. But possible torture or being used against others? The Turian took a deep breath. The sketchy extranet page did nothing to ease her concerns. "They're real, I tell you. Collectors. They took my sister. Bug-like aliens that can stun their victims, put them in stasis, for who knows what purpose! The guards won't believe me, but I know what I saw! They are coming! Coming for us all!" The Cabal pinched the bridge of her nose between two fingers and closed her eyes. "It's never a good sign when the crackpot conspiracy theories start coming true..." Sal cleared his throat. "Well then, it seems we need to be prepared. Has anyone else heard of these collectors? Are they holding Batarian hostages as the video clip suggested? Or are those individuals long dead. In any case I suspect they are out of reach for us. Even if I was inclined to save Black Sun prisoners." Aleeta shook her head. "As far as I know, nothing had trickled down about this from the Turian Hierarchy before I went AWOL." She looked away for a moment, thinking, then turned back to the Salarian. "I may still have a military contact from my past that I could reach out to and ask if she's heard anything like this recently, but that could be risky if it's traced back to Omega." Sal smirked and continued. "Either way, I'm looking forward to chasing these aliens off the station. I don't know what they are up to, but they are plainly dangerous. The video and other information hints at their abilities. The stasis, if real, is a concern. They are bound to have advanced weapons like what we've found previously. At some point, Black Suns were successfully trading prisoners for tech. At the very least we can obtain their offerings ourselves and get out before these 'Collectors' can retaliate further against us. Opinions? Strategies? What do you all think?" "Whatever we decide on, when we get close to them, we'll need to hit hard and fast," the Turian advised. "Take them out before they start freezing any of us." Larry shushed them and checked his omni tool. "Hold that thought. I installed proximity sensors, after our friend Kalia's appearance." He looked pointedly at Kalia, "One just went off. Front door. Someone's approaching!" In one swift motion with the others, Aleeta drew her Wraith and aimed the shotgun straight at the front door. At the same time, she unconsciously took a few steps closer to the table behind which Delan took cover. [OOC: Sorry for the eternal wait. Life sucks sometimes. LOL Tagging Space Cowboy ]

(OOC: The following is a collab between GeneralXIV and DragonRacer!
) The front door immediately opened, followed by a sound of grunts echoing from the dark corridor. "Who is it?" Sal asked, perhaps futilely. He prepared a weapon discreetly as they waited for the intruder to get closer.
The grunts became louder and more frequent until the shadows unveiled a Krogan covered in blood limping towards the group while clutching his abdomen. "Who is it?" Justice said weakly, smiling though he was wounded. "You honestly expect anyone to answer that question after they invaded your place?"
Kalia appeared as if from nowhere, swinging a wooden shelf at Justice's head and only stopping inches away when she realized who it was, before swinging again and shouting "Zombie!" The second strike was a joke and she missed on purpose.
"I knew someone wasn't trying to kill us. Only a dumbass wouldn't look for motion detectors," she pointed out, then turned to Aleeta, "See? It's fine. He isn't fully dead... maybe half. Or 80%, but the main thing is he's still alive..." her voice trailed off as she seemed to reach a conclusion in her head, "What if the bug-things have reanimated him? What if he is a zombie, huh?"
"Good to see you, too, Kalia," Justice snorted. He should be annoyed at the human calling him a dumbass..... again. But he was too happy to be alive right now.
Aleeta's eyes went wide and she lowered the muzzle of her shotgun when she saw their intruder was actually their Krogan comrade, seemingly back from the dead. "Spirits," she breathed. "Justice, I... how..."
The Turian walked up and placed a hand on the Krogan's shoulder, looking him over in amazement as if seeing a ghost. "I'm so grateful you're alive!"
She sighed, feeling as if a weight had lifted from her shoulders. At least there was one death for which she was no longer to blame.
"Good to see you to, too, Aleeta!" Justice grinned although he felt like he was falling apart. "But I'm kinda covered in blood here!"
Larry ran up to the wounded Krogan with a towel and medigel in hand. He tossed Justice the towel and began transferring medigel to him. Justice began to feel the immediate affects of the medigel as his hurting body was soothed, only if it was temporary.
"That feels good!" Justice grinned. Turning to Aleeta, Justice shrugged. "Dunno, maybe it was my redundant systems kicking in, maybe it was the medigel I felt by Delan, I believe. Maybe it was Kalia's bitchiness that woke me up."
"Hey!" Kalia responded quickly, "It was this bitch that saved your life, be grateful. If it wasnt for me a vorcha would be snacking on you right now."
"Well," Aleeta said, "at any rate, I'm happy you didn't perish trying to rescue me." The Turian turned to the group and swept her golden eyes across each member individually. "Thank you... ALL of you. You really should have gone on with the mission as planned. Assaulting an entire enemy base for one person was madness. Not that I'm not grateful, but all of you could've been killed for it."
"Well, now I can officially say that it couldnt have gone better without being shouted at, right? I mean, we assaulted a whole gang, freed some slaves and destroyed a huge death mech and we all lived. It really couldnt have gone any better, even if someone had actually written it like a script or a story, or, like it will soon be, a screenplay. You know, Im fairly sure this will be one of those legendary tales, something to show off to people in a bar, like "Hey, we only faced hundreds of people with a small group and we killed them all, how about a free drink?". And, I have to just point this out, Im fairly sure I saved a lot of your lives back there," said Kalia with a grin on her face. She looked at Justice, and added, "I saved you from being turned to ground beef by the mech... well, mostly anyway. You still look like youve been pushed through a blender." She pointed at Aleeta, "Saved you from being probed somewhere unpleasant, maybe torture and death too. I dont think those bugs would have been gentle." And then turned to Delan, "I must have saved your life about twice too. And hey, a thank you would be nice. At least Aleeta said thanks. I bet you never thought Id be such a big part of the group when I broke in, huh? Isnt it weird how these things turn out?"
As Larry was cleaning the blood of Justice, he chuckled at Aleeta's speech. The Turian probably been through a lot, but they were always a resiliant species. It was something that Justice respected even if his kind never saw eye to eye with the Turians.
"Hey, I protect the innocent. Which is why I call myself Justice." The Krogan chuckled walking to a couch as soon as Larry was done cleaning him. The human worked very fast cleaning a 7ft tall Krogan.
As Justice collapsed on the couch while Larry continued analyze his anatomy with his Omni-Tool. He smiled at Kalia's bragging about how she basically saved everyone by herself. The Krogan laughed.
"Oh come on Kalia It was team effort, and most of the plan was thought up by Sal!" Still laughing Justice shook his head "You really are something human."

Sal frowned at the Krogan. He shouldn't be here. They checked, there were no life signs. Perhaps they didn't check close enough. Or they don't understand Krogan physiology as well as they thought. Whichever, his Salarian mind processed the information and reached a conclusion quickly. "Justice! Welcome back! I'm happy to see our estimates of your survival were inaccurate." He chuckled at Kalia calling the Krogan a zombie. Not that I'm not grateful, but all of you could've been killed for it." Sal acknowledged Aleeta's point. "Yes, it was dangerous, and I'm happy to see our Krogan colleague did not pay the price. However, we also stopped the Black Suns plans, freed some prisoners from who knows what fate, in addition to yourself. And we obtained some valuable information that may have cost us our lives if we had simply gone to this meeting place not forewarned. All in all, I feel it turned out to be the right decision." And we obtained some impressive loot, he thought to himself, even factoring in cutting the Krogan back in. [OOC Sal is always practical haha ] He chuckled at the banter between Kalia and the Krogan. "We all made a significant contribution to the team effort. I congratulate you all. Your cuts of the loot will be generous." "Now, Justice, We've been talking about what we're facing next. Chasing these Collector aliens off the station and taking whatever they were prepared to trade the human prisoners for. Are you going to be able to participate?" "The rest of you, I think we were about to discuss our opinions and knowledge about the collectors before Justice appeared. Aleeta, your instinct about contacting the Turian military might be right, but on the other hand, if these Collectors are a threat to the council species its better if others know about them, no?" Delan holstered his Shuriken and stared at the Krogan. He through he had been dead, and had been about to set some grenades on the body to give it a Krogan funeral pyre. (best not make a huge issue about that, he thought) His relationship with Justice hadn't exactly been sparkling up to this point, the Krogan had largely ignored him (pretty much everything Justice did, he did 'largely'...) Delan shuffled up to the Krogan and looked up at him, quite an angle to look up truth be told. *ahem* Delan wheezed The Volus pulled the Executioner pistol from his belt that had been Justice's and gave it a little twirl, so that the butt was offered to the Krogan. "I thought you would like your Pistol to dispense some 'justice' so I took it" [kss]"I'm happy to be giving it back" [kss] ...

[OOC: DragonRacer
Anyhow this is a kind of colab with Kato, and some input from Justice as well ]
Even though the group was pleased to see Justice back, she saw Kato touching the triggers of his pistols like he wasnt exactly comfortable. Although she had been joking when she called the Krogan a zombie, the more she thought about it, the more suspicious she became. She decided to see if he was thinking the same.
Kalia moved out of the living room and into the kitchen, then called Kato over, "Hey, Kato, I think my pistol might be broken. Could you come and take a look?"
He threw quick looks in the direction of the others. "Sure, why not." He replied and stepped into the kitchen after her.
She started to whisper to keep the conversation quiet, "So... I got the impression you werent happy. And Im more than a little skeptical. In every book, game and movie, theres always a but when it comes to returning from the dead. But theyre working for the bad guy. But theyre part robot. But they want to eat your brains. But theyre different than they were before. But they have to do something super heroic and save the galaxy. There isnt a string-free way of returning from the dead, its just the way these things work. And that guy was dead, right? So whats his but?"
Kato replied somewhat uncomfortably after a moment of looking surprised. "It wasn't very professional of me to react like that. It's just, Drell have a very sharp and vivid memory, it is possible for us to re-watch movies that we watched before - so to speak, when we find ourselves without anything to do with our time. It just so happens that I'm entirely too fond of movies about the living dead."
Caressing the handle of one of his pistols somewhat nervously, Kato added. "It's not that I actually believe that the Krogan is a zombie or anything. That would be completely unscientific."
"Im thinking we should probably make sure that he isnt a bug robot. I mean, they have the tech to freeze people. Maybe they can make them move again too. I dont want a robotic Krogan trying to kill me. I have a scanner on my Omni-tool. Well, its a kind of scanner. I use it to determine the composition of metallic objects and compare it to the current prices to get an estimation of how much something is worth. Im not sure how deep it will scan or if it will even work, but if you distract him... I could give him a scan and see if there is any metal in him?"
Looking somewhat doubtful, Kato asked. "I don't suppose you would know what would be a good distraction with him? Somehow I don't think that challenging him to a headbutt competition is a good idea."
"I dont know, ask him about his family or what it was like being dead or something like that. It will only take a few seconds so you dont have to keep him busy for long, you know? Oh and... I think its cute that youll remember me forever," she gave him a small wink to show she was joking, "But hey, at least your memory must come in useful for watching porn, right?"
Chuckling in amusement, Kato replied. "There are certainly some advantages to having a strong memory."
She waited for a few seconds before adding, "Oh, now, thats just not fair. I cant even see if youre blushing or not. That is... if... you guys even blush. Anyway, go get the attention of a possibly zombified Krogan so I can scan him, okay?" She cloaked, and waited for Kato to grab Justices attention.
Shrugging, Kato exited the small Kitchen. He approached the Krogan and addressed him.
"So Justice, I was always curious about the religious beliefs of other aliens. I'm not a follower of the gods of my people personally, I always found spirituality a quaint if useless concept. I'm sure that the Krogan have their own beliefs. Do they believe in an afterlife? I wouldn't pry normally, but you did just die, or at least came very close to dying. I don't suppose you'll tell us if you met a Krogan god on the other side?..."
Justice shifted a little in his couch, "We aren't religious compared to the other species." He answered Kato. "We do have a sacred burial ground called the Hollows: Our ancestors skulls are placed there as a reminder of our roots and the journey ahead of us when we die a place called: The Void."
Kalia crept around his back, silent and invisible. She activated her Omni-tool and ran the scanner program, using it to try and detect any metal in him. It only took a few seconds. The results were... disappointing, however. He was ordinary. Not a collector robot. She made her way back to the kitchen while the krogan was still distracted. She could still hear him, and it took a few seconds for him to say anything else.
"I think I'm alive Kato." he mumbled "It was a traumatizing moment for me, but last I checked I'm not a ghost."
He then called to Kalia, "Human, you better not call me a zombie again or mock our beliefs. Otherwise I'm going to drag you by your hair again. Understood?"
Kalia moved her head around the corner to look at Justice, now visible, "Hey, dont worry! No one thinks youre a zombie, zombies tend to be better looking, and smarter. And harder to kill. Too soon?"
She stepped back towards the rest of the team, "So what do we think about my markets idea? Ill be going there anyway, trying to buy a new sword. Because my last one broke, trying to save someones life."

Still feeling pain, Justice took a quick nap. He dreamed about his near death experience, he couldn't remember much of it. First there was darkness, then a big bright light appeared in front of him. It looked beautiful and eerie at the same time, Justice could feel the lights warmth basking on his skin, it was relaxing, it was inviting. Justice could hear voices coming from the light, playful laughter of children. Unintelligible conversation between Krogan males and females. Was it the sound of his clan? Justice ran towards the light, was he near the void? He could not say, but the light spoke to him: "It is not your time to die Shaman." And the next thing Justice knew he was greeted by an intense pain all over his body realizing that he was surrounded in a pool of his own blood in the Black Suns base. Justice immediately woke up feeling a massive headache. The voices were still shouting inside his head, but he ignored it. "Hey, dont worry! No one thinks youre a zombie, zombies tend to be better looking, and smarter. And harder to kill. Too soon?" The Krogan heard Kalia's voice. Irritated Justice stared at the human "Watch it Kalia, you get one chance ONE! Do you understand? I just barely survived barrage and I really don't want to hear your shit!" The Krogan got up still feeling some pain. "Do you want a repeat of what happened between you and me?" He asked then turned to Sal. "So are we tackling these..... Collectors. That what I was able to overhear." (OOC: Space Cowboy whose turn is it?)

Kalia moved her head around the corner to look at Justice, now visible, "Hey, don't worry! No one thinks you're a zombie, zombies tend to be better looking, and smarter. And harder to kill. Too soon?" The Krogan got up still feeling some pain. "Do you want a repeat of what happened between you and me?" Sal looked at the Krogan with narrowed eyes. He seemed intent on threatening the Human woman, over minor teasing. Perhaps it was the near death trauma, but it bore watching. "Ahem, there is no need to bully each other. We are about to take on dangerous aliens that we know very little about. How about we focus on that rather than provoking each other to fights, hmm?" Kalia stepped back towards the rest of the team, "So what do we think about my markets idea? I'll be going there anyway, trying to buy a new sword. Because my last one broke, trying to save someones life." "It's a good idea. However, we know where these collectors will be tomorrow. If we poke around too much now, we could alert them. If there's time tonight before the markets close you could do some discrete investigation." "I'd like to go, help out. Discretion is my middle name." Larry offered. Sal shrugged. "If that's fine by Kalia. And I thought your middle name was Wilbur." Justice then turned to Sal. "So are we tackling these..... Collectors. That what I was able to overhear." "Yes. Larry, bring up the files you showed before, catch Justice up." Sal nodded to Larry. Larry ran through the files and other information quickly, then brought up a bluerprint. "Now that everyone is caught up, the drop is to happen tomorrow evening, after regular hours. About 9 PM. I guess the wanted as few witnesses as possible." While Larry reviewed the information for Justice, Sal fiddled with his omni tool. For Kato and Aleeta. Sal sends the following to both Kato and Aleeta.
"Our krogan friend seems exceedingly hostile, more so than I'd expect, towards the Human woman. May bear keeping an eye on. Could be trauma from his recovery."
Once Larry brought up the blueprint of the docks area, Sal pointed out areas of interest. "We need to deliver the 'goods' through here. They are expecting several human sized crates, remember. One possibility is for some of us to be hiding in the crates, ready to spring out and attack. They will be arriving by shuttle, and bringing in their trade goods here." Sal indicated a landing pad at the opposite end of the docking bay from their entrance. "Here and here," he pointed to elevated catwalks, "could be sniper perches if desired." Looking again at the shuttle landing area he added "Would be nice to disable their shuttle, prevent reinforcements, maybe?" "Now, we need a front man. Someone to lure the collectors in, get them at ease, ensure that they go where we want them to, in order to take them out fast, before they can deploy the stasis tech. What do you all think so far?" Delan felt a little out of sorts. He'd never really understood the other races, and whilst plans were afoot on dealing with these 'Collectors', something had changed in the relationships between their little band. The Krogan's surprising return had led to what the Earthclan referred to as 'raised eyebrows'. When things kicked off again, the Volus would be running support as usual, flanking and looking for opportunities to distract, be he couldn't help thinking that he should be keeping half an eye behind him as well as to the front. He shook he head. 'Paranoia', he thought, though for a Volus, that was a valued mindset to have...

Kalia scoffed at Katos comment about her and Justice being lovers. "He wishes," she retorted, laughing, "But its never going to happen. I have standards." She realized one thing. Their plan made no sense. If she was planning the operation, those who were best at shooting would be up on the sniper perches while someone - maybe her... alright, probably her - would be doing the talking. After all, she was curious whether she could convince a group of bugs. "You might think springing from crates is a good idea," she said to Sal, "It isnt. It really isnt. Someone is going to have trouble opening their crate and theyre going to be shot in the face..." her voice trailed off. "Explosives in the crates!" she announced suddenly, "That would be a good idea, I agree with Kato. When they go to check them, boom. Explodes in their face. The others would be taken by surprise, and thats when the people on the catwalk would start murdering them..." She stood next to the map of the docking area, "Speaking theoretically, this is how I would plan it. Kato and I would talk to the Collectors while Sal would take position next to the shuttle, and Justice would take position at the other side. Aleeta, Delan and Larry would be up on the catwalk. We would convince the Collectors everything is fine, and when they check the crates... Im going to say Aleeta, because you look like the kind of person who enjoys blowing things up... you detonate the crates. It doesnt even need to be a big explosion, we dont need to be wasteful, but boom. Justice and Sal set up a crossfire, or charge in and start shooting wildly, whichever. Aleeta, Delan and Larry start shooting from their sniper-catwalk. Or throwing grenades. Just think. It combines the best of everything. You have a distraction, a crossfire, height advantage and someone with, ahem, social skills doing the talking. Do you know what would be useful? Lead. Lead would be useful, line the crates with it, should block their scanners. Claim it was used to bypass security. Anyway, after the bugs are dead, Sal would be in a perfect position to disable their shuttle, or do it while everything is happening. Either way, that makes a lot of sense, right?" Aleeta discreetly checked her omni-tool when Sal sent her the message to keep an eye on Justice. With a quick glance to the Salarian, she gave a curt nod and then resumed listening as the others gave their input on bringing down the Collectors on Omega. Everyone had some fairly solid ideas, but one particular point of Kalia's stuck out to the Turian. "Oh, yes, I'm most definitely your gal for blowing shit up," she answered, "buuuuut... one slight modification I'd like to make to the plan: I should be hiding near the shuttle, not Sal. For one, sabotaging aircraft and vehicles was one of my main prerogatives in the military, so I'll have that thing ready to be lit up like a fireworks celebration the moment any of them try to escape. And secondly, as much as I'd like to be fighting by Delan's side..." She paused to give the Volus a friendly smirk, then continued. "... the person with the shotgun should NOT be the person trying to snipe people from a catwalk. I'd be useless. If I rig their shuttle after loading up the crates with sticky grenades, I can hide there and then be ready to pop in their faces with Ol' Reliable here." She gave a smirk that bespoke of far too much joy gotten from planning future mayhem. [OOC: Tagging Space Cowboy because I have no earthly idea who's next at this point.]

"He wishes," Kalia retorted, laughing, "But its never going to happen. I have standards." Justice rolled his eyes, "I doubt anyone want to be with a person like you." He replied. The plans were solid so far, but Justice heard voices in his head overwhelming him...... "Yeah the plan is good." Justice uttered as he hastily typed in his Omni-tool to Aleeta. "I need your help." (OOC: Sorry this is short. Couldn't think of anything! XD)

As the others talked Sal made notes on his omni tool. he nodded as each spoke, listening, but not taking his eyes off the screen. "Lead lined shielded crates, yes. Rigged to explode as soon as opened? Or detonated at a distance? Remember the crates need to look like they contain humans. False signal perhaps?" "Kalia can do the talking, get them close to the crates. Stay away from the collectors though, they are dangerous. " "Aleeta is in charge of explosives, check. Somewhere close enough to sabotage their shuttle, once they get their goods unloaded." "Kalia and Delan, both good talkers. Should talk to collectors, lure them in. Aleeta out of sight ready to sabotage their shuttles and blow holes in the enemy with her shotgun." "Justice and Kato on the catwalks maybe? Kato has a sniper rifle, correct? And Justice can use his biotic charge to close on them quickly and do what he does best. mayhem." "That leaves myself and Larry. Larry will be hacking into the monitoring systems and feeding us info via our headsets. I will also be up on the catwalk, until it's necessary to leave it and close in." "Now, heavy weapons. We still have the Collector weapon from the base. Some charge left in it. Larry has a turret somewhere about that I can set up. Hackable so I'll be monitoring it to ensure they don't employ hackers on it." "Finally, I suggest we rig explosives in various spots in the docking bay. If it goes wrong and they decide to take us as 'test subjects', I'd prefer Larry had the ability to stop them." Finally he looked up at the others. "Does anyone have anything to add? Modifications?" "Once we are done I suggest we call it a night and reconvene tomorrow morning. The drop is meant to be tomorrow at 9 PM, so we have all day for preparations. These are dangerous opponents. We dont want to mess this up by being ill prepared." [OOC Tagging @tzeenchianapostrophe ]

It all sounded logical, but Delan felt uneasy. These 'Collector' individuals did not sound like the sort of creatures that would engage in some distracting amiable banter. The Volus did not understand every race, but he understood greed, and that was a predictable emotion that Delan could work with. What these Collectors wanted was anyone's guess. With more cheerfulness than was likely, Delan said: "I'm ready, go team!" [kss][OOC: GeneralXIV]
