I used to be like you in the first two playthroughs I did for the series. I was a really adamant supporter of paragon. However, I am preferring renegade more and more as time goes on. And no, you don't have to be cruel or evil or mean constantly to be renegade. I have played both male and female Shepards as renegons. They are strict and a bit stern as well. But I found I was still able to make plenty of paragon choices while filling up the renegade bar fully. For example, I was still able to free rachni queen, and still be a nice person despite being mostly renegade. I recommend trying it as well because it makes the game more replayable. And some of the renegade lines in general are so great, I simply will not ever pick the paragon option because they are boring by comparison. And yes, it makes ME3 more interesting if people die like mikefest said. Having Shepard be perfect and save everyone in ME2 is kind of boring and unrealistic. Its almost Mary Sue-ish to me. Unrealistic? Perhaps...but there aren't many characters I outright dislike in ME2 (only Jacob), so killing a character for the sake or realism...yeah, no So maybe my Shepard might be a Mary-sue in that regard, but like every human Shepard still makes mistakes even by being able to safe everyone also technically you don't safe everyone...you always come to late to safe the colonists from Horizon, if the game would allow you to do that as well, then yes...Shepard would be a Mary Sue (also...Bahak system, you can't safe anyone there either) and I aim to make my current Shepard seem more realistic by using more renegade options in dialogue, but I'll still try to safe everyone, we're not called Shepard for nothing < all those sheep are the companions from ME2
Sides, if I wanted to play a realistic game, I'd play the Sims...oh wait *imagines all the times she 'accidentally' killed one or two of her sims in the most creative ways the game allows* Hey, its totally up to you how you want to play your run. You are taking realism out of context here though. Obviously the game is not realistic in any way. I mean creating miniature black holes with your mind and biotic charge exists right? I'm just saying that going into an unknown part of space, with a relatively tough foe in the collectors, and surviving with everyone and everything in tact is a bit far fetched. I prefer things with a more tragic or not so happy outcome myself because it can make way for interesting development. I feel Shepard is a more interesting character with more deaths on their head. It makes the dream sequences in ME3 more haunting instead of just hearing the obligatory Kaidan/Ash, Mordin, Legion, and Thane only. Some scenes in ME3 play out differently and some get interesting mentions. And using Horizon is not really the best example because that is scripted. The Kaidan/Ash thing is also scripted. Some characters also cannot really die or be refused (looking at Liara here). You are just missing out on potential content that you may find interesting (or not as I can't speak for you). Again, play how you like. Its just a friendly recommendation is all. Also, thanks themikefest . I will try your recommendations next time.

Finally got something written.
Barbara "Barbie" Shepard...
Barbie: We need to find Dr. Gonorrhea.
Liara: You mean Dr. Garneau.
Barbie: Him too.
Garrus: I don't even want to know.
Barbie: Oh look, a button!
Receptionist: Are you here for the tour?
Barbie: Why yes I am!
Receptionist: (pointing) This is the office. That's the waiting area. That's our broken elevator. And that's the way back out. Now leave. You shouldn't be here.
Barbie: Cool tour!
Liara: We should fix that elevator. And soon, because the miners are really starting to creep me out.
All miners: You shouldn't be here.
Japanese ghost girl: (mutters something in Japanese, crawls back into monitor)
Barbie: Let's ride the elevator!
Garrus: I like elevator rides.
Barbie: i just farted.
Garrus: Never mind.
Barbie: Look at all this science stuff!
Liara: They're supposed to be mining.
Barbie: Who cares about mining when there's sciencing to be done?
Liara: I don't think 'sciencing' is even a word.
Garrus: Let's just find Garneau.
Gar No: I am Doctor Gar No.
Barbie: Awesome. Let's grab the artifact and go.
Gar No: (switching to deep voice mode) Why do you pursue me?
Barbie: Because I can.
Gar No: Leave the artifact. You will not take what is mine. (runs off)
Liara: After him!
Gar No: Leave this place! (locks door)
Barbie: (crashes through door like the Kool Aid Man) OH YEAH!
Liara: Why doesn't she do that with every locked door?
Garrus: Are you asking me because I might know? Or because I should care?
Liara: Who cares. Let's just follow them.
Gar No: Turn back. (blows himself up along with artifact)
Barbie: Ugh. I hate cleaning blood. Worst part of my day.
Garrus: (finding a dead body) That wasn't Garneau. This is.
Barbie: Huh. Oh well, back to Bryson's office.
Miner: What happened?
Barbie: No idea. Sucks to be you! Bye!
* * *
James: That's a shitload of Harvesters.
Javik: Pathetic. In my cycle, the flying Reaper monsters were much bigger.
Cortez: Multiple bogeys inbound. Jump out and I'll try to shake them!
Barbie: Okay! (leaps out of shuttle)
Cortez: Now that she's out, I'll drop you two off at that platform over there.
... later ...
Barbie: So Ann, you found an artifact?
Ann Bryson: It's right over there.
Barbie: Oh crap, the Reapers are using it.
Ann: So... pretty. Must... destroy.
Barbie: Okay. (shoots artifact) Wait, did anyone see how the Reapers were using it?
James: No.
Javik. Sorry.
Ann: The darkness must not be breached.
Barbie: okay, back to the Citadel!
* * *
Ann: If we let Leviathan take control of me, you can trace the signal back to where it's located.
Barbie: Good idea!
James: Are you sure that's a good idea?
Barbie: Was Pumpkin Spice Pepsi a good idea?
James: No.
Barbie: Turn on the artifact!
EDI: You mean turn off the shields.
Barbie: Whichever one works.
James: Shutting down the shield.
Barbie: You feel anything yet?
Ann: Not yet.
Barbie: How about now?
Ann: No.
Barbie: How about now?
Ann: No.
Barbie: Now?
Ann: Give it time!
Barbie: (waits for two seconds) Now?
Ann: No. Wait... no.
Barbie: Maybe I should order pizza?
Ann: (very Leviathan voice) Turn back. The darkness must not be breached.
EDI: Maintain connection.
Barbie: You guys want vegetarian or meat lovers?
Ann: You are a threat.
Barbie: You don't like pizza?
EDI: Partial lock.
James: You heard her. We have enough. I'm hitting the shield.
Barbie: Belay that! What kind of monster doesn't like pizza? ANSWER ME!
Ann: What are you talking about?
Barbie: (grabbing Ann by the temples) Come here you piece of shit. I'll make you eat those words!
Somewhere in the galaxy...
Leviathan: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Back in Bryson's lab...
Ann: I think I preferred Leviathan in my brain.
* * *
Cortez: Whatever that pulse was, it grounded the shuttle.
Reaper: (familiar Reaper noise)
Tali: It's a Reaper!
EDI: It must have followed us here.
Barbie: (yelling at Reaper) Come down here so I can rip out your wires one by one!
... Later ...
Leviathan: You have come too far.
Barbie: There's no such thing as too far.
Leviathan: This is not your domain. You have breached the darkness.
Barbie: I'm going to breach your ass hole for not liking pizza.
Leviathan: That is not possible.
Barbie: I'll show you what's not possible.
Ten minutes later...
Leviathan 2: It's okay Bob. She's gone now. She can't hurt you anymore.
Barbie: (streaking towards the surface) Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Cortez: I don't know what the Commander did, but the shuttle is working now.
Barbie: Let's get out of here!
Cortez: How do we get past the Reaper?
Barbie: Fly right into it! I want to kill it!
... Leviathan kills the Reaper with a pulse ...
Barbie: Goddammit! It stole my kill! Everyone keeps stealing my Reaper kills! Cortez, turn the shuttle back around. I'm going to tear that thing another new ass hole.

Before I start, I gotta apologize for the long walls of text I've been putting. I'm just playing the game on a different view, as in adding Shadow Broker Reports over some situation that fits said records and files. But then I noticed last post was huuuuge and the images resolution wasn't helping at all, so, I decided to put it between spoiler brackets... Turns out, spoiler brackets isn't working as intended (IDK why, it just doesn't... And yup, I do know how to use one!), and my post ends up being all messed up. Fighting my way out of the Medical Facility.
Some more logs about my status... Even if Wilson was indeed the traitor Miranda claims him to be, I still agree with his logs about Lawson being an ice cold-hearted bitch... Still, better be careful around here. Those guys would shoot their mothers if humanity was at stake.
Commentary detected...Scanning... Wilson's death will make integrating new agents onto the Minuteman difficult.
Scan ended... ...
The Illusive Man, leader of Cerberus, has poured lots of resources on the Project... on me. Wonder where he got all that money from. And how much he spent. Comment Detected...
Clearing line...
The loss of credits due to the Illusive Man's direct interference in recovery of Commander Shepard's body has been offest by data gathered from the Lazarus Project. Withhold retaliation until Shepard's long-term functionality is confirmed (one year post-ressurection).
Line available for further entries... ...
I got a feeling you would that too, but I won't say it out loud since you're still alive... Escaping the Medical Facility
Those guys are really pushing it with those questions.I won't talk more about any of it. It's time for you to answer my questions now..
Arriving at the Minuteman Station to get some answers...

Hey, its totally up to you how you want to play your run. I will try your recommendations next time. humm...when you put it that way (and don't worry, I didn't take it to hard, and I know you mean well ) I'm aware the game isn't realistic, but Shepard's team in ME2 is supposed to be 'the best of the best', at least according to TIM when he sends you the files on your squad members, so them surviving impossible odds isn't that improbable
the characters I at least want to have survive are Tali, Mordin, Thane and Garrus, the others I do like but aren't really mandatory for me to have survive... I love stabbing Kai Leng to death when saying 'that's for Thane you son of a b*tch!' and yes, I do say that out loud when I play that scene plus Thane's goodbye scene always makes me cry...especially the prayer Fem!Shep: "Kolyat...why'd that last part of the prayer say she?" Kolyat: he already asked for forgiveness, this prayer was meant for you Shep and me:
and I really wish I could've killed Liara in some way...or at least used a Renegade interrupt to slap some sense into her after Thessia the entire game she's more or less 'I'm sorry about your planet, but there's a war going on you have to move on', but when it's her own planet she's all plus she creeps me out...same with some other Asari(Sha'ira for example)...personal space ladies (I always imagine my Shepard just freezes when someone invades her personal bubble) I mean, I can't be the only one who thinks Liara has this weird crush/obsession with Shepard (even more apparent when you don't romance her)

Citadel DLC when she comes to my rescue I prefer rescue by Kaidan or Garrus. I always make sure femShep is wearing her slinky dress to meet up with Joker since standard Alliance fatigues don't really qualify as a "nice outfit."

Barbara "Barbie" Shepard...
Barbie: Let me take a look at it.
Wrex: No.
Barbie: Come on, I'm a doctor!
Wrex: You are not a doctor.
Barbie: I know what I'm doing.
Wrex: No you don't.
Barbie: Come on, just let me see it.
Wrex: I am not letting you see my quad!
Barbie: Oh come on, I've seen hundreds of quads!
Wrex: Humans don't have quads.
Barbie: I've seen hundreds of quads!
Wrex: Get away from me.
* * *
Liara: Shepard, that's my home down there. I have to go.
Barbie: But you live here.
Liara: No, Shepard. What I mean is that Thessia is my homeworld.
Barbie: I'm from space!
Liara: (loud sigh) Yes, Shepard. You're from space.
Barbie: All right, let's land!
... later ...
Lt. Kurin: You must be Commander Shepard.
Barbie: That's me!
- big explosion -
Kurin: Shore up the barrier! Shepard, get on that turret.
Barbie: (already shooting) I'm Rambo! (shoots all the enemies)
Kurin: Thanks Commander.
Barbie: (continues shooting)
Kurin: Commander?
Barbie: (still shooting)
Kurin: Commander!
Barbie: (begins yelling while continuing to shoot)
Tali: She's in one of her moods again. Give her a minute.
Barbie: (ripping the turret off its base) Hell yeah, awesome gun! To the temple! (walks off with turret)
... Later ...
Prothean VI: Indoctrinated presence detected.
Barbie: Oh hey, it's Ninja McStabby!
Kai Leng: I prefer Stabby McBrooding.
Barbie: What do you want?
Kai Leng: Your attention. Someone wants to speak to you.
Barbie: My mom?
Kai Leng: No.
Barbie: My dad.
Kai Leng: No.
Barbie: Good, because my dad's dead. Speaking to him now would be all kinds of creepy.
Kai Leng: What is wrong with you?
Liara: We ask the same thing.
Barbie: I think you guys are the problem.
Kai Leng: Look, TIM wants to speak with you.
Barbie: Tim?
Kai Leng: The Illusive Man. It's an acronym. It's his nickname in Cerberus.
TIM: What? I heard that!
Kai Leng: Damn.
Barbie: Can you hear me?
TIM: Yes, I can hear you.
Barbie: Is this thing on?
TIM: Yes, it is on.
Barbie: Hello? Hello?
TIM: I CAN HEAR YOU, SHEPARD!
Barbie: Testing, testing. Hello? Hello? Can you hear me? Am I getting through?
TIM: Fuck it. Kai Leng, kill her and take the artifact, would you?
Kai Leng: With pleasure.
Barbie: Finally, a boss fight! (punches Kai Leng)
Kai Leng: I need to recharge!
Barbie: Already?
- Gunship attacks -
Kai Leng: Okay, you caught me off guard that time. But this time I'll --
Barbie: Hi-ya! (drop-kicks Kai Leng)
Kai Leng: I need to recharge!
Barbie: Again?
- Gunship attacks -
Kai Leng: Okay, best 3 out of 5!
Barbie: (racist-sounding kung fu noises)
Kai Leng: Save me, gunship!

In the same token, if you do not help them with their loyalty mission or you mess up their loyalty mission they are considered "distracted" and have a higher chance of dying. This basically means they are fallible and prone to mistakes. I like to think Shepard is the same. It still bugs me ME2 barely makes any reference to Shepard coming back from the dead outside of Jacob letting femshep vent frustration. And I agree that Thane's scenes in ME3 is pretty good, and he's one of the few characters I rarely kill off. And if you want to laugh, I love Kasumi. But unless its my Obbie Shepard I'm playing, I always kill her off regardless of male or female Shepard. I don't mind killing off anyone these days. I wonder if you will reach that at some point too. And you aren't the only one that feels that way. I despise Liara. I think she is the worst character in the series and about the only one I actually hate. And its for reasons you mentioned. She is forced on you, she acts creepy, she is annoying as hell on Thessia, she invites herself onto your ship in ME3, etc. You have little choices with her. Even in Shadow Broker DLC, you are really friendly with her even if you got her dead last in ME1, never used her and told her you want to dump her in a volcano. I just have to deal with the few instances in ME3 where she is forced on me (Eden Prime, Citadel DLC when she comes to my rescue, and Thessia). I ignore her completely otherwise. but the loyalty missions are such fun err...except Jacob's...at least imo, even LotSB is fun...if only it wasn't focused on Liara
as for the LotSB dlc...seeing as my Shep's love interest is Kaidan (who decides to go brooding during ME2, and learn how to Reave (among other things), it's generally Garrus who comes along with me on that mission
for my Shep it'd make more sense for her to safe him instead of Liara, 'cause she considers Garrus to be something like a brother
and yeah, I really need to be a bit meaner to Liara...to bad there's so few scenes where you can actually be mean to her, the game basically forces you to be nice to her maybe that's why I like Javik...he's such an arse to her (and basically everyone else) plus I love that one scene when Liara comes check on you and Samantha(Traynor) comes inside to talk to you about the retrofits, she's so passive aggressive to Samantha Liara:...I was just leaving my Shep: *almost hugs Samantha in thanks* saved by the bell ^^ Samantha: but...I didn't even ring the bell Shep: pff...details (also I'm really glad to find someone else who doesn't like Liara, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't )
-- Also, restarted my Shepard the other day (again), decided to go with my favorite class after all (Vanguard) maybe I'll play a Sentinel on another playthrough

Cinematic bit - careful squad, bound to be something happening.. Down we go for some Towers of Hanoi. Right, how come is there's no power or comms etc, all the lifts - so, so many lifts - seem to work just fine? The only good bug is a dead bug! Join the Mobile Infantry - Would you like to know more? Seriously, there's a whole load of empty seats right there.. There's something really suspicious about her, isn't there Liara?
Told you. I'm really enjoying just ignoring a lot of the left hand side options ad just going straight for the 'She's got a gun! Shoot her!' stuff. It's very amusing. Decided to turn on subtitles from now on, as I'm using gifs.

but the loyalty missions are such fun err...except Jacob's...at least imo, even LotSB is fun...if only it wasn't focused on Liara
as for the LotSB dlc...seeing as my Shep's love interest is Kaidan (who decides to go brooding during ME2, and learn how to Reave (among other things), it's generally Garrus who comes along with me on that mission
for my Shep it'd make more sense for her to safe him instead of Liara, 'cause she considers Garrus to be something like a brother
and yeah, I really need to be a bit meaner to Liara...to bad there's so few scenes where you can actually be mean to her, the game basically forces you to be nice to her [img style="max-width: 100%;" src="//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/AUxiCwTEOlWnBkzUwCXX.png" alt="[_[" class="smile"] maybe that's why I like Javik...he's such an arse to her (and basically everyone else) plus I love that one scene when Liara comes check on you and Samantha(Traynor) comes inside to talk to you about the retrofits, she's so passive aggressive to Samantha Liara:...I was just leaving [img src="//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/AUxiCwTEOlWnBkzUwCXX.png" alt="[_[" style="max-width: 100%;" class="smile"]
my Shep: *almost hugs Samantha in thanks* saved by the bell ^^ Samantha: but...I didn't even ring the bell Shep: pff...details (also I'm really glad to find someone else who doesn't like Liara, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't )
-- Also, restarted my Shepard the other day (again), decided to go with my favorite class after all (Vanguard) maybe I'll play a Sentinel on another playthrough Some are fun, but some are not on repeated playthrough. Grunt's and Thane's for instance are not fun to me anymore. I like LoTSB, but I dislike Liara enough that it ruins my enjoyment of the DLC. You're too buddy buddy even if you choose the renegade and less friendly choices. And it still annoys me that the best scene in ME2 of Shepard is where you HAVE to invite Liara to the cabin. I like that Shep can vent his/her frustration and feelings. The acting is great (especially after Collector base), and its a good scene in general. Too bad its with Liara. And yeah, so you get what I mean. I actually like every character in ME2 over Liara. Even Jacob. I would dive to save anyone in ME2 over her. Its especially annoying if I am romancing Jack or Miranda. I like Javik because even though he comes off abrasive, he is honest, doesn't beat around the bush and says what is on his mind. I also like that you can not make him friendly with Liara also. And too bad Samantha doesn't show up during the other scenes where Liara is forced on you where she humanizes Shepard. I don't get why Shepard's best scenes have to be with her. And don't worry, if there is one thing you can count on, its me disliking Liara with every fiber of my being. And I recommend Sentinel. Its a great well rounded class. But I am biased because Sentinel is my favorite class and Vanguard is my least favorite.

I haven't played the games in over 6 years, so I don't recall everything anymore, so replaying everything is quite fun ^^
I too wish Samantha would've checked up on Shepard more, or hell...I'd have loved Joker, EDI or Doctor Chakwas! Chakwas is a doctor, she'd notice if Shepard wasn't feeling to well! Chakwas: you okay Shepard? Shepard: not really...I'm worried about Kaidan/Ashley , also this war is stressing me out Chakwas: he/she'll be alright Commander, he/she's tough...I think the war is taking a toll on everyone, want to have a drink to feel better? Shepard: sure thing and then they get drunk , Joker would crack jokes to help ease the tension, and EDI would try to take their minds of things by asking more silly questions about human behavior
and trust me, if there had been an option to sacrifice Liara on Virmire instead of Kaidan/Ashley...I'd have taken it without hesitation (but apparently Liara has plot armor that's as thick as her skull) I did like Liara the first time I played through the series, but as I replayed it and began taking more note of her character...yeah, I started disliking her I mean, why does she get all the cool scenes? Heesh! as for Javik, that's precisely why he's such fun...but what does Shepard do when Liara goes to confront him after Thessia? They side with Liara and can even make Javik apologize to her! I wanted to have the option to say: yeah but...he's right (or maybe there is such an option and I've forgotten about it)
(lol, I just typed Liara without the a at the end before correcting it...greatest misspelling ever xD)
I am conflicted on either Sentinel or Vanguard, since I love both classes as you said, Sentinel is well rounded, but for the first game I enjoy having Kaidan and Garrus follow me around, and playing as a Vanguard makes all three bars (combat, tech and biotics) line up equally but the other day when I played through Eden Prime I had leveled Kaidan up the wrong way so I couldn't open up all containers, which is frustrating I do have to admit I haven't given much thought to any of the other classes, as I've said before I love biotics, but playing Adept (which I have tried out in the past) is a bit...meh, because they're so damn squishy
I think I'll mule over the class my Shep should be a bit more

I wanted to have the option to say: yeah but...he's right (or maybe there is such an option and I've forgotten about it) Yes, you can side with Javik in that scene, which I always do. Alternatively, if you don't referee that spat (ie don't go into Javik's room at all after Thessia) and also keep Javik from looking at the memory shard, that is when he decides to be king of the hanar after the war.

Is it still the same as normal or does it change a bit as well depending on who you sided with?
also, King of the Hanar? That's hilarious at least it's a better ending for him then writing a book with Liara or going out in a blaze

Is it still the same as normal or does it change a bit as well depending on who you sided with? If you side with Javik, there is no change, afaik, but since I've never taken Liara's side in that argument, I don't know for sure. I assume it's the same either way.
You don't get the "be nice to Liara" scene if you don't resolve the argument, though, because she doesn't go back to her room until after the argument is over (or, you have done another mission, by which time it's too late).

I got into the series super late (just started the MP in ME3 late last year), so I have played it a few times already. I find some of missions boring. I would do the same. I great prefer Kaidan/Ash over Liara. It still confuses me that you can beat 80% of ME1 without Liara, but for some reason the game forces you to still get her. She even admits she is useless. So why do I need her? And then in ME2 you are acting like best friends forever even though you spent no time together. And yet it estranges you from Ash/Kaidan. Why are the developers so biased towards Liara? And yes, its amazing characters that have been with you from the start like Kaidan, Ash, Chakwas (all character you have bled with) don't come up to the cabin and ask how you are. But this asari does frequently. And Liara can technically die, but Shepard will die as well. And speaking of EDI, I don't understand why she's not a romance choice? You spend more time humanizing her than Joker ever does. And yet, you can only play matchmaker. She should have been a proper romance for Shepard since he/she spends just as much time with her. That Javik fight scene has a few subtle outcomes. Don't use the paragon interrupt in that scene. I know you likely do this since you say you play mostly Paragon. This will make Javik less friendly with her. And even if you do interrupt you can still side with Javik. And I really hate the scene where you have to get her to quit her crying. If I do talk to her, I tell her to suck it up and focus on the mission. You can tell this clearly upsets her since you aren't as empathetic with her. As for the classes, I don't know if its a personal preference, but I noticed have the bars filled up equally rarely matters. Regardless for any class, I find Wrex and Kaidan are easily the strongest squadmates. I think Sentinel, Engineer, and Adept are the most fun classes. I play ME2 and ME3 on insanity, and these are the classes I prefer. Adepts struggle with shields and are squishy, but are satisfying when you do well. Sentinels and Engineers are the most well rounded. I feel Sentinels are a better rushing class than Vanguards are, they have damage protection, can disable defenses like Engineers, and can reset squad powers. Easily the best class for me.

But somehow Javik is claiming he will live like a king among a dead race? I'm assuming some are still alive here and there, but its weird it doesn't get referenced or mentioned again. I don't even think Citadel news people mention it either do they? Also, Liara's scene in her cabin doesn't change regardless of if you side with her or not. She whines the same regardless.

hm, I see... guess I'll have to play in order to find out (if I can decide on a canon class for my Shepard, I've gone back and forth between Vanguard and Sentinel for the past few days )
-- so, made my Shepard a Sentinel, took Assault Rifles as a bonus talent (especially since Sentinel's don't have any other weapon talents), and I gotta say...she pulverized those geth with ease my current Shepard is still Paragon, but I've noticed I am taking some more uhm...direct options during dialogue as well (such as when talking to Powell on Eden Prime and saying it's disgusting that he took a nap during work while other people died around him ) and it's more fun then I thought by not being nice all the time, especially because it's part of that (in)famous trope "beware the nice ones"

I feel Sentinels are a better rushing class than Vanguards are, they have damage protection, can disable defenses like Engineers, and can reset squad powers. Easily the best class for me. I've got no idea why the developers love Liara so much I mean, the only reason she's kept alive is because apparently you need her to interpret the Prothean beacon on Eden Prime (I mean, don't tell me there's no one else out there who has as much interest in the Protheans as she does)
know what the worst part is? (saw this in a vid on youtube today) Apparently at some point during development they wanted to make a way to keep both Kaidan and Ashley alive regardless of the outcome of Virmire. Why couldn't they have done that? Apparently Shep would've said something along the lines of: I dunno how you survived, but am I glad you did!
I personally always take Garrus and Kaidan along with me, aside from a few quests on the Citadel (I do like taking Ashley with me for the quest with Samesh Batia), and Wrex's quest because I like taking Wrex along for that part as well however, I always head canon that everyone comes along with me on the missions and stuff anyway (how else would they have knowledge of events they didn't even witness? ) kinda wish that Mass Effect allowed for three man parties like in Dragon Age, then I'd take Kaidan+Garrus and switch out Wrex/Tali/Ashley every once in a while...Liara could've stayed on the ship
I do admit to loving Jack-of-All-Trades classes, it's fun to be able to do various little things of each of the specialized fields Yes, you can side with Javik in that scene, which I always do. Alternatively, if you don't referee that spat (ie don't go into Javik's room at all after Thessia) and also keep Javik from looking at the memory shard, that is when he decides to be king of the hanar after the war. I don't even think Citadel news people mention it either do they? Also, Liara's scene in her cabin doesn't change regardless of if you side with her or not. She whines the same regardless. Aww that's to bad...I really wished there'd been a way to make Liara shut up in some way I think I once didn't take the paragon interrupt because I was curious if there was a renegade interrupt, but there wasn't I mean, I get a renegade interrupt when Kaidan talks about being worried about Earth and his parents but not a paragon interrupt?! What gives?!
I wanna give my hubby a hug with a throwback to ME1 when he tells Shep 'everything's going to be alright'

I usually have Kasumi alive but in my games before she was installed in ME2, I would pick saving an entire planet over saving one guy. So, in my games, Khaji is fine. I only had Javik in that role once though, since he usually ends up doing the book thing with Liara. I think only once or twice I've had him look at the shard.

I don't get Liara last often. But even if you get her last doesn't she say that she is no longer needed because you have all the clues? Does she even make you embrace eternity? And Shiala could have just as easily deciphered the Prothean beacon if needed. And yeah, I read that Ash/Kaidan both surviving was also a thing as well. But given the fact that they were some of the least popular and least liked characters at the time (while Liara was one of the most popular), I bet Bioware thinks they made the right call.

Its not really just "one guy" though. He brings other Spectres with him. Who are a lot more useful than a bunch of hanar that really never contributed much in the series in general. I think a bunch of Spectres are pretty handy to have in a galactic war I'd say. Plus, I'd rather take one guy I know and like over a bunch of jellies that do nothing really. And regardless of what choice you choose, its still strange that its never referenced. That is a pretty big event. Even Thane for how much he talks about the hanar mentions nothing about it as well.
