But Engineers are pretty damn good as well. Drone is too good.

I was very proud of myself being able to play Insanity (all side missions + all DLCs except Arrival) as an Engineer, when my first attempt failed badly and I had to start over as Soldier to complete it instead. My first time through as Engineer I got stuck on the Collector Ship, I believe. After too many re-loads, I gave up and lowered the difficulty.
Really? I thought Engineer is one of the best for that part (minus Infiltrator of course). Is it the platform part where you get ambushed by scions/collector troopers? If so, the drone can distract the Scions (if I remember right, they have a hard time with drones so they get distracted for a long time), and incinerate is good against their armor. I usually take Miranda or Thane to deal with collectors barriers as well. I don't know if its considered "cheating" but I can imagine the arc projector is useful there are well for crowd control. I believe even the ascended collector general has issues with dealing with drones quickly as well. But nicely done on your run. Engineers are great. I have beaten ME2 on insanity with all classes. Adept is definitely the hardest next to Vanguards (Vanguards are buggy as hell for me so I hate them). Soldier and Infiltrators are extremely easy. Sentinel and Engineers the most fun but still pretty powerful.
Ehh, not sure exactly since it was probably in 2012. I first played Insanity while being not very familiar with the game and the ins and outs of various builds, so I'm sure I wasn't optimized very well for it. The ironic thing is, I don't really like playing as Soldier class since my aim is usually awful. I think I've only played that class once in each game. I prefer Infiltrator, Engineer, or Sentinel.

Who would be silly enough to shoot at a SPECTRE eh? I actually meant to just shoot him, but forgot and automatically chose the 'insta-win' button. Oh well. Not a colonist died. Well, apart from this one. Not sure why I couldn't just throw a grenade at him as well. I guess that wouldn't be dramatic enough.
Embrace eternity! I let her live. Embrace eternity! I let her live too, mainly for the sexy fun times in the Normandy.

I have a problem in ME2. I recently finished Obbio in that game and have moved on to ME3. This is the guy who is basically saving himself for Ash in ME3 (ME3 only romance). But I have another guy who goes for Miranda or Jack in ME2. It made me realize that I have a hard time choosing between these two. I personally think Jack is a more fun character and she is more nuanced into ME3. She also has some of THE best romance scenes possible. But no matter how hard I try, I feel she just doesn't suit Shepard in that way. Her past, her crimes, her attitude. It makes it all hard to believe Shepard can fall for her. Where as Miranda is more calm and collected. She feels more in line with being a potential match for Shepard than Jack. But I don't think she is written as well as Jack in ME3 or even ME2 in some instances unfortunately.
Its one of my biggest dilemmas with the series.
But as for Obbio, I am really digging the new dialogue with Ash (I rarely save Ash, and if I do its for the romance only). I also noticed how Shepard carries Ash into the Normandy after Dr. Eva bashes her head changes depending on romance or just a friend. I am about to talk to her on the Citadel in a little bit. I hope this playthrough where I romance her in ME3 only is worth it.

I had a really unfortunate problem in ME. I wanted to do a run where I romanced Ash in ME3 only. But was disappointed with the result. A lot of the scene don't even change. In fact, the scene where you ask her out in ME3 is nearly identical to the one where you have been with her since ME1. Why was Bioware so lazy with Ash.
I nearly scraped this entire run and character. But I decided to go back to a save file in ME2 and do a mass casualty run (never done one of those). I will romance Miranda (maybe even kill her in ME3, maybe not as I haven't decided), and kill everyone in ME2. Have as many deaths as possible. I will also kill the Virmire survivor as well as I have never done that either. I would also be interested to see if someone other than Garrus will reference killing Ash when going back on to the Normandy.

James Shepard, Soldier, Earthborn Hackett send me on a mission to this seriously gorgeous planet. I was choosing who to bring on the mission but there's this dark figure among the possibilities. Strange. What, you ask, is so important on Eletania? Space monkeys. That's right, I'm not chasing down Saren so I can deal with space monkeys. At least these two got what they deserved. Ooh, shiny! I made it float but I have the sudden urge to visit that brothel on the Citadel.

Mission Report for Commander Brandi Shepard
Under assignment from Captain David Anderson and accompanied by Council Spectre Nihlus, we traveled to Eden Prime to secure a Prothean Beacon for transport back to the Citadel for study. Before arrival, we received a transmission from Eden Prime. Eden Prime was being attacked by unknown hostiles.
We touched down and proceeded to objective on foot. We were attacked shortly after touchdown and Corporal Jenkins was killed by hostile gunfire. Hostiles were synthetic constructs of unknown origin, but speculated to be Geth. Nihlus was also killed. A local resident who survived the attack said Nihlus was killed by another Turian named Saren.
We secured the beacon from the hostiles, but an unknown trigger caused the beacon to self-destruct, injuring me in the process. After an examination by the Normandy's medical specialist Dr. Karin Chakwas, I was declared fit for duty and am returning to the active roster. Along with Captain Anderson, Major Kaiden Alenko, and Lieutenant Ashley Williams, I will be rendezvousing with Ambassador Donnel Udina at the Citadel for a meeting with the Citadel Council.
End Report

Mission Report for Commander Brandi Shepard
Ambassador Udina, Captain Anderson, and I presented our findings to the Citadel Council. They were not impressed and dropped the investigation. So I continued the investigation myself. I picked up a Krogan and a Turian, and together we rescued a Quarian who had evidence against Saren. The new evidence persuaded the Council and they made me a Spectre.
I also scanned about two dozen Keepers. For science.
End Report.

More Brandi Shepard: 1. Talked to the crew. 2. Rejected Rear Admiral Mikhaelovich's request to inspect the Normandy. 3. Granted an interview to Kalisi bin al Jilani, but provided a boring intrerview. 4. Talked to Michael and Rebekah, but could not resolve their conflict. They left angry. 5. Managed to talk a suicidal Mindoir survivor into taking a sedative. (I am not a very emotional guy, but I choke up every time I play this Colonist-background mission.) 6. Finished 3 of the 5 Geth Incursion (Armstrong Cluster) missions. I was trying to get enough good loot to sell to buy the Medical Exoskeleton VIII mod from Dr. Michel (without the buy/sell exploit) but did not have enough.

Brandi Shepard: 1. Nassana asked Brandi to go kill some slavers that kidnapped her sister. Brandi tracked them down and killed them, then found out the leader was Nassana's sister. Brandi will have words with Nassana later.
2. Found Exogeni's missing survey team. They had been turned into husks. Also killed a Thresher Maw.
3. Found the ship belonging to Garoth's brother, Willem. It had been attacked by pirates. Tracked the pirates to a nearby planet, then wiped them out. Found Willem's body. Not sure why the pirates bothered to bring the body to their base... or drag it up to the second floor. While still on the planet, Brandi killed a Thresher Maw and survived a Geth trap.

Not sure why the pirates bothered to bring the body to their base... or drag it up to the second floor. I figure they were holding him hostage hoping for a big payout. Until they realized he was a nobody and just killed him instead. Also possible: Willem accidentally disturbed the thresher maw, hightailed it to the pirate hideout to hide, and was killed for trespassing.

Brandi Shepard went to Pinnacle Station*, made the holograms cry, and won a new apartment. She went to her new apartment and bought some new toys: a kick-ass shotgun and some sweet armor.
* I turned the difficulty down to Normal to finish Pinnacle Station as quickly and painlessly and possible. For the record, I have never been able to beat all missions on Pinnacle Station on Insanity. Highest difficulty I have ever completed Hunt: Volcanic is Hardcore (and barely). I have managed to beat all other missions on insanity. I am also mid-level (around 35) with middling equipment, so trying to beat everything at a high difficulty level would not be doable.

Brandi Shepard: 1. Recovered Wrex's family armor from a Turian scumbag named Tonn Actus. Wrex seemed pleased. (This is one of the toughest fights in the game because of the layout, lots of Immunity, and regenerating health + shields.)
2. Killed the two crime bosses for Helena Blake. When Blake resisted arrest Brandi killed her too.
3. Raided the Cerberus bases located by Admiral Kohaku. Cerberus sure does love their Phoenix armor. Found Kohaku's body; he was executed by Cerberus. Located Cerberu's main base and shut them down for good. It's a good thing Cerberus won't cause anymore trouble in the galaxy. Also took out another Thresher Maw while I was in the area.
