Sooooo Samara. Great character, piss poor design. Unless you are 13.
Shep met a friendly merchant who helpfully points out plot relevant locations. Ah Detective Anaya. Best dry wit in the galaxy, and sorely under used. Samara: Feared righteous warrior of good, who sees nothing amiss about the red eyed terminator talking to her. Does anyone not kill her? You know, I have never noticed this interrupt before. I only saw it on reviewing the footage. Ah well. Shep set a new record for world's quickest gunship fight. Shep helped someone in their assisted suicide request. He was going to die anyway, so why not? If you look closely, you can just see Wasea get punted halfway across the screen. Funny really, the combat here isn't hard, but is definitely harder than a ME3 vanguard if you spec charge and nova. Anyway, Shep kills another paper thin villain. Shep gave more evidence for the Justicar to trust her completely.
So that's that done, and it wasn't as fun as I remember, although I do love the location. Next time: The Illusive Man wants another chat!
Also: fun fact, due to the amount of side missions etc I've done, I have virtually everybody's loyalty mission stacking up, even if I haven't even talked to them. The pacing in this game is so screwed.

Dimitri Shepard: 1. Found a ship drifting in space. It was filled with husks. Dimtri killed the husks. Logs showed the crew found an alien artifact and then they flew the ship into Geth space.
2. Went to a planet that was referenced on a terminal on Feros. Found some thorian creepers on the planet. Also found a small base housing a scientist with some mercs. The scientist tried to get Dimitri to leave by putting money in his pocket. Unimpressed, Dimitri got her to leave by putting bullets into her body.
3. Went to another planet that was referenced on another terminal on Feros. All the colonists had been turned into husks. Dimtri killed all the husks. Cerberus -- the group mentioned by Admiral Kahoku -- was responsible for the damage. It looks like he will have to track this Cerberus group down. Good thing Kahoku sent him their location before he disappeared.

Dimitri Shepard went to Noveria, trying to track down Matriarch Benezia. At Port Hanshan, Dimitri found out that Benezia had gone to some place named Peak 15, but bureaucracy prevented him from pursuing her. Dimitri helped out a Turian named Lorik Q'uin with an administration problem, and Lorik granted him a garage pass.
Dimitri encountered Geth (and some Krogan) resistance on the way into the Peak 15 facility. Inside the facility, he encountered more Geth and some large bug creatures. When he finally made it into the main lab area, he discovered that the bug creatures were Rachni, a long-thought extinct species. A security specialist named Captain Ventralis directed Dimitri to the Hot Labs.
Dimitri did not find Benezia in the Hot Labs, but he did find a ton of Rachni. He set off a neutron purge to deal with the Rachni. Back in the labs, Ventralis informed Dimitri that Benezia wanted him dead. Dimitri then purged the facility of any remaining military personnel.
Dimitri finally cornered Benezia in the main lab. Benezia sent out a bunch of Geth and Asari commandos to kill him, but Dimitri dispatched them pretty easily. Benezia seemed to gain some control of her faculties, and told them she was indoctrinated; Shiala had mentioned something like on Feros. Benezia gave them information about the location of the Mu Relay, where Saren was headed. Benezia then attacked them again, but this time was killed in the fight.
A Rachni Queen then pleaded with Dimitri to let her go, but Dimitri was fed up with the bugs and killed her, destroying the Rachni species for a second time.

While exploring the galaxy, the Normandy intercepted a distress call. An outpost had been overrun by hostiles. The hostiles turned out to be Rachni (again!?). Dimitri exterminated all the killer bugs he could find near the outpost and then near another outpost on a nearby planet. The Rachni infestation happened after they were delivered by automated supply drops. They traced the supply drops back to a supply depot in another system. Turns out the supply depot had been run by Cerberus (again!). Dimitri scuttled the supply depot before things got worse.
Looks like it is time to take out Cerberus once and for all. Armed with the coordinates given by Admiral Kahoku, Dimitri is ready to pay Cerberus a visit.

Did some minor things in the past few days Luna went and recruited Garrus, Zaeed's presence was useful when talking to the Blue Suns found a data-pad that the gangs were going to gun for Aria next, have to deliver that later also received a quest from some Salarians to collect some data-pads, guess we'll see what that is about later
then when to the Citadel and recruited Kasumi, promising her we'd get back a greybox containing the memories of her former partner from a crime lord met with Bailey and got Luna's citizenship reinstated, then went up to the Council chamber and talked with Anderson and the Council said Council once again refused to listen to Luna Luna: ...why'd I safe you people again? she then caught up a bit with Anderson, trying to find out where she could find Kaidan but he wouldn't release any information Udina also briefly showed up but he wasn't very happy with seeing Luna
today I did a few minor quests on the Citadel, getting information about fish to some Krogan and helped a Quarian being harassed by a Volus and C-Sec officer
then I went back to the Normandy, talked a bit with the crew and delivered the bought items to the mess sergeant, doctor and engineers got drunk with the doctor, played some poker with the engineers and got something to eat from the cook.
After that we went to Illium, helped out Gianna Parasini and received a message from the Rachni Queen then talked to Liara (Liara was happy to see her...) and asked about Samara and Thane's location, Luna also promised to help Liara out with a few things
tomorrow I think I'll recruit Thane or Samara, and then either Jack or Grunt, then it's time for Horizon...

Rolling a new Shepard through ME1 and got a glitch on Eden Prime. I could aim and shoot just fine, but for some reason his body was twisted around so he was facing the camera and not the enemies. Glad it went away after reaching the next cutscene. Kinda creepy.

Dimitri Shepard went to the location provided by Admiral Kahoku. Cerberus had three bases on the planet, doing experiments with Rachni and Thorian Creepers. Dimitri raided all three bases, killed all Cerberus personnel and stopped the experiments. They found Kahoku in the last base, or his body anyway. It appears they had found and killed Kahoku after all.
The last base also gave them the location of another Cerberus base, likely their headquarters. Swearing revenge for Kahoku, Dimitri dropped in and took out the remaining base. He found a terminal and download as much data as he could before the drive was wiped. The data is encrypted, but hopefully it can be decrypted in time. It would be nice to find out everything that Cerberus was up to. At the very least, Cerberus is finished. Good riddance.

Started a ME2 replay a few days ago just to romance Tali - not that I need too much encouragement - but I want to try the Tali Romance Mod for ME3 that looks pretty slick so I decided to start at the beginning. Today I did some loyalty missions for Grunt (love talking to the Shaman and doing my rare renegade thing) and Mordin (Killing Maelon to change things up) and finished for the day with the mission on the Collector Ship. Also hoping that, by being friendly to Jack, I didn’t blow my chances with Tali but it’s been a while so I forget the lead up to the “romance conversations.” Maybe it starts after her loyalty mission which is next up.
EDIT: Looks like Tali’s Loyalty mission needs to be completed first. Oooo my memory is poor.

Thanks. My last play through I was going to romance Ashley in ME3 but screwed something up as it never happened. Think the killer was when I was supposed to meet her on the Citadel for a “date” but somehow i never found her. Think that one was my fault!

I believe it's the same location as where Kaidan's date is, at Apollo's (also where you meet Matriarch Aethyta (Liara's dad)

so...I've been playing through my game as a Vanguard so far..but for some reason I no longer really like this class I keep getting shot at (granted my Shep's level is still quite low), and I hate shotguns in ME2
on that front, I was thinking of maybe re-rolling her as a Sentinel and then restart from scratch in ME1 now...that leaves the bonus power I can give her in that game...I only have a few unlocked atm. so was wondering what I could use for her, seeing as the only ones I have (that aren't already covered by the Sentinel class) are Warp and Shotgun I'm not really a fan of shot guns in either ME1 or ME2...so that'd leave Warp...which is a class power in ME2...
or I could cheat around a bit and add the left over bonus power skills...(I did have them once before but my profile got deleted at one point which resulted in the loss of my achievements)

While exploring the galaxy (took a wrong Relay on the way to Virmire), Dimitri Shepard discovered an asteroid that was being accelerated into the planet Terra Nova. He landed on the asteroid to shut down the fusion torches. Turns out Batarians were responsible. Dimitri managed to shut down the torches.
After shutting down the last torch, one of the Batarians tried to explain the situation. Dimitri stopped listening when the Batarian said the operation was supposed to be a simple slave-grab operation. Dimitri was not in the mood for talking and killed the Batarians, then took a key card for the main facility off a corpse.
At the main facility, Dimitri met more Batarian resistance, although the resistance was ultimately futile. One of the Batarians was clearly regretting his life choices when Dimitri cut him down. If he had surrendered, he might have been spared, but he didn't so he wasn't.
Then the leader, a guy named Balak showed up and started ranting about how it was actually the humans who were at fault. Then Balak offered an ultimatum: let him go or he would blow up the hostages. Dimitri decided to spare the hostages and let Balak go. Balak then ran, letting Dimitri know that the bombs were still on a timer. Dimitri managed to defuse the bombs before they exploded. The hostages were grateful. Dimitri hoped that he would get another chance to put a bullet in Balak's head someday.

Dimitri Shepard travelled to Virmire to meet up with the Salarian Infiltration Team. Joker dropped him off in the Mako so that he could disable some AA towers, allowing the Normandy to land.
At the base camp, Captain Kirrahe told him they had found Saren's base of operations, a facility being used to breed Krogan. Their plan was to destroy the facility. Wrex was not happy about that, but Dimitri talked to him and was able to convince him that it was the correct choice of action.
They split into teams, with Kaidan going with the Salarians to handle communications between Shepard and the Salarian teams. Once inside the facility, Dimitri discovered that it was much more than a Krogan breeding facility: they were also studying indoctrination. Several captured Salarians were now fighting for Saren alongside Geth and Krogan. Dimitri freed some captive Salarians; one ran to hopefully escape the blast, while another was very much indoctrinated and tried to kill him.
Dimitri found another beacon, then had a chilling conversation with Sovereign. Sovereign was not just a Reaper ship, it was an actual Reaper! Eventually, Shepard made it to his destination, and the Normandy landed. They planted the bomb, and Ashley stayed behind to arm it while Shepard went to go help Kaiden. Unfortunately, Geth dropped in on Ashley's location, and she armed the bomb to make sure it would go off. Dimitri then broke up with Ashley in the best worst way possible (or was it the worst best way possible?) and decided to leave her with the nuke while he went to go help Kaiden.
Saren then dropped by, and after a brief fight, he left when the bomb's alarm began to sound off. Dimitri escaped with Kaiden and the Salarians, leaving Ashley and possibly some other Soldiers behind (bet you forgot about them, didn't you?).
* * *
One mind-mend with Liara later, and they determined that Saren was going after the Conduit on Ilos.
Udina and Council called the Normandy back to the Citadel, where they informed Dimitri that they were blockading the Citadel. When Dimitri insisted they go to Ilos, Udina grounded the Normandy.
Captain Anderson agreed that Shepard should go to Ilos, so he went to Udina's office, knocked him out, and removed the lock. Dimitri then took off for Ilos, but not before stopping off at his apartment for more supplies.
* * *
They landed at Ilos (and nearly landed on Saren), then pursued Saren through the ancient Prothean ruins. Along the way, they found a Prothean VI that told them the Citadel was actually a Mass Relay that would transport the Reapers into the galaxy from dark space. The VI aslo told them that the Conduit was a Prothean-built Mass Relay prototype that could transport them directly onto the Citadel. The VI then gave them a data file that would prevent the Reapers from using the Citadel.
Sovereign and the Geth were already attacking the Citadel and had closed the Citadel arms. After using the Conduit to get onto the Citadel, Dimitri chased Saren all the way to the council chambers. A fight ensued and Saren was killed. Dimitri then used the data file and opened the Citadel's arms. He ordered the Alliance fleet to protect the Destiny Ascension. Sovereign then controlled Saren's corpse in an attempt to regain control of the Citadel. Dimitri destroyed Saren's body once and for all, and Sovereign was eventually defeated.
* * *
The Citadel Council then offered humanity a seat on the council and asked if Shepard had a recommendation. Dimitri recommended Anderson to the Council, much to Udina's displeasure.

I take great pleasure in choosing Anderson every single time because I always have my Shep say, "Nobody stabs me in the back, Udina. Nobody." Not only does she trust Anderson, but she is also sticking to Udina.

This time on the adventures of Shep, she got sent on a mission that wasn't an obvious setup in the slightest.
Nothing suspicious about this at all! I'm sure it's a completely fine and empty. "I don't want to live like some mutated slave!" says the resurrected genetically modified cyborg running around doing TIM's bidding, despite being a SPECTRE. "They're going to target Earth!" No, they really aren't, are they. They'd be blown out of the water before coming anywhere near.
Right, I'm being a bit picky about this mission, but the whole thing makes no sense. What, exactly, is the point of these floating things? Who would design a ship like this? For what purpose? This was a surprisingly tough fight, I just couldn't seem to take this one down quickly. Didn't help in this instance in being taken out by a bloody husk. Speaking of husks: shockwave ftw! Slagging off TIM. There was nowhere near enough options for doing this, and even now I can't tell him to do one and go back to the Alliance. This game is more railroaded than the Northern Line to Morden. Right, that's that horror over with. Now, we COULD go get the IFF and then end the game with the suicide run, OR, you know, do the following massive backlog: Zaaed loyalty Kasumi recruitment Tali recruitment Tali loyalty Samara loyalty Jack loyalty Garrus loyalty Grunt loyalty Mordin loyalty Miranda loyalty Thane recruitment Thane loyalty
And that's not mention Legion's loyalty, or LotSB, or Overlord, or Arrival. Pacing? What's that eh? Of course we can do THE REST OF THE GAME while the dead reaper just hangs about.
Pah.
Anyway, next up: Zaeed loyalty for the sweet, sweet renegade points. Even though I could just gibb them.

Right then. Zaed. Ugh. This was the second most fun I had in this mission (the first being the flamethrower, naturally). Mmm, sweet renegade points. I really dislike Zaeed, it's such a one dimensional try-hard character. Right, Zaeed is to all intents and purposes British. British accent, trying to channel an east-end London hard man. No-one who is British would say 'home field advantage'. That's an Americanism. Worst. Game. Ever. Shep looks awesome here. And its great she stamps her authority, it's just a shame it doesn't carry on in that vein telling him to shut up. He really leaves me cold; his mission is dull and only good at farming point, and he really grates on me as a character. I need a pallette cleanser. There we go. Next: It's Tali!

Harsh. How can anyone not like Zaed? He’s one of my favorites and always is part of my squad. Except on the Suicide Mission/Last Stand where I have to leave him so no one else gets whacked. Anyway for me just rescued the new Primark (sp?) from Palven’s moon. Anyone else use the saved games from Masseffectsaves.com? I do fairly often to try different things - in this ME3 play through its one where the council was NOT saved in ME1. Lotsa people holding a grudge!

I like Zaeed, too.
Today I almost recruited Thane, but then decided I like Kirrahe being the one to save Councilor Valern, and with that, there's literally no reason for me to recruit Thane. I did LotSB instead. Good times, good times.

Today I almost recruited Thane, but then decided I like Kirrahe being the one to save Councilor Valern, and with that, there's literally no reason for me to recruit Thane. I did LotSB instead. Good times, good times. You can always recruit him and make sure he dies in the suicide mission. Or, if you don't talk to him in ME3, then he's not there to save the councilor. Too much good loot and upgrades in that mission to skip it (like the Viper rifle).

After a a half dozen playthroughs on Casual and one on Normal, I finally decided to bite the bullet and do a Hardcore playthrough of ME1.
As someone who fails miserably at combat in pretty much any and all videogames, I have to say it's been pretty easy. Levels 1-25 were okay, not much more difficult than Normal. Around Noveria/Feros time, levels 25-45, things somehow got super easy, I was steamrolling everything. Then all of a sudden level 45+ got a fair bit tougher, though that may be more to do with quests throwing tougher enemies at me (looking at you, Rachni Brood Warriors!).
At any rate, I've only got BDTS, Virmire and then the endgame to go. Then maybe I'll consider an Insanity playthrough.

Aaand done. Hardcore Hailey completed her mission, next up Insanity Ivan. Managed to unlock the assault rifle and sniper rifle achievements too. Pretty annoyed I didn't get the Sentinel and Asari Ally achievements though, considering I brought Kaidan and Liara pretty much everywhere with me.
