Saved Feros and fished Liara out of the Prothean ruins on Therum. Doing the rounds on the ship after, it seems like the crew has decided that there's something going on between Shepard and her after just one long conversation, which seems a little much. Which also isn't to say that it wasn't a very nice chat. I have half a mind to write a short fanfic about the crew getting her properly outfitted for the field, since she's the least overtly militaristic of the squadmates. Armor fitting in the hold with Tali cheerfully helping her calibrate a Scorpion suit while the guys hang around and pretend to have things to do just to catch the first glimpse of those curve-hugging camouflage-fiber plates... Garrus giving her pointers at target practice with everyone chipping in and offering to help her work on her stance, except Ashley whose eyes are rolling out of her head at them making such asses of themselves... Shepard, Tali and Garrus strategically teasing Kaiden and Wrex into biotic arm-wrestling contests against her... With Shep having to be a killjoy and remind everyone that gambling onboard Alliance vessels is against regulations... Also had a serious talk with Kaiden, and got the whole 'if we're lagging behind then it's because we're not doing everything we can, not because they're holding us back' speech in relation to the Alliance and the Council. Maybe it's because this particular Shepard is nursing mild case of xenophobia himself, and is also something of a competitive tough-guy, but this time the outburst actually made an impression on me and I walked away respecting him more after hearing it. I imagine Shep is going to have that conversation pinging around his skull for quite a while after Virmire, which is next. A painful reminder to stop taking every excuse to look down on aliens just because they annoy you, given extra poignancy by Kaiden's heroic sacrifice. To not end up like Saren, too limited by his prejudices to muster the hope and trust necessary to dare resist the Reapers. Also, wtf is with the Exp distribution in this game? After Feros and Therum I'm already level 43, and it feels like twenty-five of those levels have come from just exploring the various systems. And I'm not even done with them. Seems way out of proportion compared to main/side content in other RPGs. Am I imagining that?

Ended up changing my plans on Virmire. I thought this was going to be the playthrough where I finally saved Ash and got to see her content in ME3, but then the game railroaded me into a romance with her with no recourse when I was busy putting the moves on Liara. And a few minutes on youtube watching the gristly spectacle of her new appearance in ME3 convinced me that I wasn't ready for it after all.
And I was kind of already planning on cheating on Liara with Miranda, using the classic Geralt of Rivia Defense of "I fucking died and came back, and you weren't there anymore. Give me a break." Two-timing her with Ashley in the first game on top of that would just have been ridiculous.
So, Ash died and Kaidan is fine and dandy.
It was good to see Saren again. Virmire always reminds me how much I like him as a villain. He's the Saruman of the franchise. It's not so much that he agrees with the main villains as that he doesn't believe for a second that everyone else has a chance against them, and joins them out of despair in an attempt to at least salvage something from the coming doom.
And honestly, considering how much good luck and how many contrivances these stories usually require for the heroes to ultimately come out ahead, I find it hard to argue with that kind of logic. If the threat was just a little less unstoppable you could say that Saren and Saruman simply let their cynicism and disdain for other factions prevent them from recognizing the potential of cooperation for achieving something extraordinary...
But when victory or even survival through resistance is literally unimaginable? Falling on your sword and hoping for the Dark Lord's mercy doesn't necessarily strike me as the worst idea.
Having both Saren and Sovereign expand his perspective on the Reaper threat, Sebastian Shepard is definitely feeling some doubts as well.

episode 5 uploaded we first did few secondary stuff, hang out to the citadel, went to space to scan some planets, etc... and after that, we went toward palaven's moon, helped turian troops and kicked some reaper's butts. (btw, palaven's moon often reminds me of the landscape on the arachneids planets in starship troopers )

Started another playthrough of ME1. First one in about 18 months. Not turbo-ing it, but trying something different. Instead of getting tangled up in tons of side-quests on the Citadel at the beginning, I went straight to Barla Von, who told me about a krogan at C-sec. Went directly to C-sec and added Wrex to the squad, who told me about Tali. Ash suggested I follow up with Garrus before going to Chora's Den. Went to Dr. Michel's office, added Garrus to the squad (for Garrus + Wrex). Went directly to Chora's den (no ambush). Showdown with Fist, go rescue Tali, show evidence to Udina, go directly to show the evidence to the Council, get made a Spectre. Only side-quest-givers I talked to were Chorban and Emily Wong. Usually I try to leave the Citadel w/ Shepard at Level 10. Am Level 8, so not that much was lost, and I feel like I got out of the Citadel a lot faster than normal while still staying super-focused on the story.

Got to the "find the data module" side mission which tbh has always been a bore. Annoyed, I ran over some pyjaks with the Mako. Wrex chuckled and said, "Nice shot." I also got +4 Renegade.

Finished ME1 for ~20th time. Its still the dream for me, it feels like amazing soft scifi dream world to be in and lose yourself. Loved it and Sovereign was downed. I also tried 2 and 3 but I cannot anymore, during the years the difference and rift between 1 and 2&3 has just gotten bigger for me and I rather continue in Andromeda these days instead as it is the spiritual successor of ME1. Thats whats next, maybe we hear something if reapers got through the relay or not in Andromeda

Went to Virmire. Reasoned with Wrex. Was surprisingly easy this time. Usually get the Paragon / Renegade prompt, but this time didn't even get that far. Just assured Wrex we were doing this for the right reason, and he immediately jumped to "I don't like it, but I'll follow your lead." Maybe it's the mod? (ME1 Recalibrated).
Since Wrex made the choice to trust me, I took him along into the base with Garrus. I thought I would have the easiest time of all. Garrus had spectre-level gear and Colossus armor, Wrex had Predator armor and Rosenkov weapons. But the squad AI had a complete brain-fart and glitched: nobody would follow or attack, even when commanded. Weirdest part? Enemies (like krogan) would run up to Shepard, but wouldn't attack. So I wound up have to solo almost the entire mission, but it wasn't exactly hard. (Have seen this bug before on Feros, unmodded, so I doubt it was the mods.)
Saved Ashley. First time I've saved Ashley on Virmire in about a dozen playthroughs (this is playthrough #16). No romance, though. Playing Engineer Shep, this playthrough's squad is almost entirely Garrus + Tali (with occasional Wrex). Planning to make a Tali-romance run of the trilogy. I just haven't saved Ash in a while.
Now headed back to the Citadel to wrap up a few quests before stealing the Normandy.

If you recover Wrex's family armor and give it to him before Virmire, you can reason with him without needing Charm or Intimidate options.

Still funny that after stealing the Normandy I take a run around the galaxy scanning a few things to finish up some collections, and I still get radioed by Hackett. "Hey Shepard, we've got a problem, and you're on-site." "Um, are we going to talk about how I just stole a ship and evaded the Citadel fleet to escape scot-free? No? Okay, then. What's your problem?" Stopped at Styx Theta to clear out a rachni infestation. First few playthroughs I completely missed these missions. Took my double-shotgun team - Tali & Wrex - both with Level X Spectre shotguns. Brood warriors were no match. Used the new patch for AMD cpus so Ilos characters didn't show up as black blobs. Can finally play the game properly. cookieplmonster.github.io/2020/07/19/silentpatch-mass-effect/Followed Saren through the Conduit. Garrus + Tali + Engineer Shep has to be the best playthrough I've ever done, gameplay-wise. Veteran difficulty, Geth everywhere, a tech explosion happening every few seconds. Just mowing Geth, Geth heavy turrets, and krogan down without even trying. Some people might say it was too OP, but really, why would Saren & the Reapers potentially be worried by someone like Shepard? Well, aside from the events of the game up to this point, this OP slaughter is why. Saved the council. Maybe it is the wrong thing to do, but now isn't a time for petty grievances. In the confrontation with Saren, Paragoned him into killing himself. This part is what makes the end of the game for me. Saren's revealed as not a bad guy; simply someone misguided who made the wrong choice. Then instead of Saren's "resurrection" by Sovereign being just Boss Fight Stage 2 / Second Form, it becomes an insult; Sovereign saying "fuck you" to Shepard and Saren, underlining rebellious sacrifice as pointless. Didn't pick an ambassador because I'm not going to pick Udina and it doesn't matter anyway. Aside from some bugs & glitches, still the same game I remember. Kind of nervous now about the rumored remaster. What stood out as dated wasn't the visuals, which means it won't necessarily be brought "up to date" by a visual remaster. Guess we'll have to wait and see on that.

Once again, I’ve been doing more playing than posting over the last few weeks; I’ve made more progress with my Roy Shepard playthrough (Vanguard, Earthborn / War Hero). I finished the last thing I had to do in ME2 (Arrival DLC), and did the import into ME3. I’ve played the main quest all the way up to Tuchanka, but deferred as many side missions as possible since I want to do as much of the game as I can with the ME1 squad of Liara and Kaidan reunited. I did complete Grissom Academy to reconnect with love interest Jack, and saved the Rachni queen (again) to advance the Tuchanka plotline (Grunt survived). Kaidan is a Spectre. Kelly Chambers is now “Felicia Hannigan”, which hopefully will keep her safe from any Cerberus retaliation. Dr Chakwas is back on the Normandy. The Blood Pack, Eclipse and Blue Suns mercenary companies are united under the command of Aria T’Loak, thanks to my facilitating “regime change” in two of the merc groups and getting General Oraka to lay off the Suns by finding him an new weapons supplier. We foiled Cerberus plots on Benning, at a lab on Sanctum, and a space cannon on Tuchanka. This weekend I completed the Tuchanka arc and cured the genophage. Eve survived, but Mordin didn’t. Neither did Wreav, but no one seemed to broken up about that. Wrex deployed krogan forces to Palavan. We’re now on our way to the Citadel at the request of Councilor Valern, who has some concerns about Councilor Udina to go over with me. Pics: This is what’s known reaper circles as a “day wrecker”. (Any chance we can recruit the thresher maws?): The explosions did indeed prove to be “problematic”, but the job got done. Rest in peace, old friend: Aftermath:

Jaysen Shepard rides again! For a long time I had a problem where the game crashed during the Archangel recruitment mission. Right when Garrus handed me his rifle to look through the scope it crashed. Every time. Uninstalling didn't work. Clearly the registry didn't work. Removing all mods didn't work. There was nothing I could figure out and I eventually used Gibbed's save game editor to finish the game and import it into ME3 with tweaks for how the missions went. That was okay but prevented me from playing ME2. I lost heart and couldn't get myself back into playing. Sort of all came up again on the r/masseffect group and got me looking again. Thought maybe I could use the editor to "skip" the mission but there was no way I could see. Just for the heck of it, I ticked off the boxes saying I'd already met Garrus and fired up the game to before meeting Garrus. By which I mean when I was about to enter the room and find him. Worked. Don't know why or how but damn if it doesn't make me happy. So, Jaysen... recruited Garrus, met everyone on the Normandy and had some talks. I'm not talking shade much but Garrus and Jacob are on the same page as me in that we don't trust Cerberus but are using them for their resources to complete a necessary mission. Just returned to Omega and about to go looking for Mordin. I may end up doing a proper write-up like I've done in the past but this will do for now. I know I’m a month late in replying to this, but just in case it’s still an issue for you... I’ve also run into this problem where ME2 always crashes at certain points (for me it’s been the hallway below Liara’s office on Illium, the approach to Prometheus Station in the Overlord DLC, and when first meeting Vasir during Shadow Broker). The solution was to temporarily change from fullscreen to windowed mode until getting past the crash point, then changing back. If you’ve already tried this, or are already playing in windowed mode, then I’m afraid I don’t have any other ideas.

ME 2
Morinth ME 2 Build
Before plot misssion - did some work for Aria, got space money, advice to get a nice young man to warm me and n7 mission - was poisoned, listented to the funny Jack's comment, went back to the bar and did what a Torfan butcher could do - shopping: + 10 % SR damage + 30 % tech squad damage + 20 % tech CD upgrade
Grunt mission
Team - took the usual - Jack: simple reason - many places to fall - Pull/SW/HP - Garrus: area OL/CB/SR Mantis
First annoying a bit, though very soon became interesting to control others.
Died once: somewhere in the beginning - forgot how to play; it's been a while as was busy with DAT.
Liked the last fight: - my team stuck behind the door - my helper Krogan under "Dominate" killed Jedore and Imir (Garrus and Jack helped a little only); - that krogan just refused to die even fighting Imir. Useful.
Got another teammate.
Upgrades: + SR damage + AP SR.
Used "Dominate" everywhere for Heavies e.g., that area with Krogan spam (again refused to die, after just "throw" or SW). ------ Kelly said TIM was eager to talk about something.

Roy Shepard – Vanguard, Earthborn / War Hero
ME3 – Citadel Coup
We returned to the Citadel at the request of Councillor Valern, who’d found some information about Councillor Udina that was concerning. That turned out to be the understatement of the year, as we arrived to find Cerberus forces attacking the Citadel.
Liara and EDI helped me retake the C-Sec docks so that Captain Bailey could guide us to the Executor’s office, where we’d been scheduled to meet with Valern. When we first got there, it seemed no one was left alive, but Valern apparently had himself a tactical cloak (probably standard issue for Council members, in case of something like this). Unfortunately, there’d been a Cerberus assassin waiting for Valern to come out of hiding. Thane arrived to help us fight defend the Councillor – we succeeded, but Thane was critically wounded. We chased the assassin around the Presidium, trying to get to the rest of the Council before Cerberus did.
Kaidan was guarding the Councillors, and when we caught up with them a tense confrontation ensued. Udina accused me of the being with Cerberus planning to kill them, but Kaidan knew who he could trust and who he couldn’t. Udina was shot and killed by the second human Spectre during the confrontation.
During the aftermath, Bailey informed me there was time to get to the hospital for Thane, but implied that I’d better hurry.
(No screenshots this time, cause I was lazy)

In another thread, someone asked about squadmate build recommendations for Armax Arsenal Arena squadmates.
So I spent a few minutes loading an ME3 save, playing one match for a Gold reward, then trading in the winnings to buy all the arena-only squadmates so I could look at their power sets.
Underwhelming yes, but also clearly showed that I was extremely rusty since I have not actually played any of the trilogy in months. (Mass Effect related, I have been mostly playing Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer out of habit.)

Don't know where I left off with Jaysen. Did some stuff but now:
Went to Haestrom to find Tali. EDI tells me the sun will damage my shields so I should stick to the shadows. Then this -- Jacob "The sun is damaging my shields" followed by Garrus "If we stay in the shadows we should be fine". It's like they're parroting EDI without knowing. They definitely weren't listening.
Cliffs notes: The sun is going crazy, quarians want to know why, geth kill all quarians except Regar and Tali, I rescue Tali and she comes with me.
Here's the part where Jacob is a dick when we get back to the Normandy. He tells Tali he's going to give her clearance to check out the engines. Then he says "Make sure to introduce yourself to the ship's AI, EDI." Seriously? I didn't realize what an asshole he could be. Not smart given she's my friend.
Headed to Joab to investigate some merc activity. It was the Blue Suns. The were trying to recover some artifact. There'll all dead but I did find a Prothean Video Log. Gave me the same damn warning/vision as I got when we were going after Saren. I thought maybe this would do more since it wasn't damaged and I now understand Prothean. Kind of.
2175 Aeia. Beacon from the Hugo Gernsback, which was the ship Jacob's father was on until it disappeared ten years ago. Here are some reasons why I hate everything about this mission:
1) a log indicated that crew were being physically abused by officers because they wouldn't even know it happened seconds later. 2) one officer pretty much said he raped a crew member. 3) an officer thought promoting the First Officer to Captain was a mistake. 4) a doctor can't remember the name of her sister. 5) The Beacon AI said it was repaired nine years ago and then shut off until just recently by... Ronald Taylor! Also said the local flora causes "neural decay" and memory loss with seven days of eating it. 6) Met a female who acted primitive or childish but actually knew there was something wrong with her thinking. Mentioned some hunters. They tried to kill her, and us, but it didn't work out for them. 7) A camp full of only females. Similarities between Jacob and father were not well received. There was spoiled food in storage there, meaning they ate the local flora and not the safe food. And... "he keeps us and protects us and we please him like he demands". 8) LOKI mechs attacked and said the captain demanded obedience and that weapons were forbidden. 9) Another female showed us a data pad and said she'd forgotten how to read. 10) Ronald Taylor was the source of all of this. He killed off all of the officers and enslaved the women. He only activated the beacon because his food storage was running low. I'd have shot the bastard in the face if not for Jacob. Not that I care so much for Jacob but I do what him mentally fit for when we take on the Collectors. Instead, we left him to be picked up by the Alliance and jailed for the next century.
[More, but game crashed in the middle of my next mission so I'll wait to post.]

Wish that patch was around years ago when I had an AMD. There was a patch but the video was sort of flat in the places where the blobs appeared. I vowed never to use AMD again. But I'm glad it worked out for you.

Jaysen Shepard:
TIM "summoned" me. He said a Collector ship had been disabled by a turian ship and that he was preventing the intel from getting to the turians. I thought it sounded like horseshit but I was willing to check it out. Oh, and TIM's eyes are creepy. Like he got a Reaper upgrade or something.
Headed to the Collector ship. Brought Miri and Tali with me. Miri is someone you want backing you up. Glad we're on the same side for now.
EDI said the ship suffered no damage but engines were disabled. Sounds like a trap but one we knew we had to enter. Found lots of dead bodies and empty pods. Miri said there were so many pods that it could more than fill the population of the Terminus Systems. Tali suggested Earth was the next target. Probably right. Along the way we learned that the Collectors were a heavily modified version of the Protheans. The Reapers stripped them of their free will. EDI figured out right away that this was the same ship that had been on Horizon while I was there. Joker decided to look into it more and it turns out this ship is the one that destroyed the SR1. Collectors have been trailing me for two years.
Eventually we got to a console EDI could connect to for some data mining. But there was a blip in the power. The ship started waking up and the Collectors came out of the woodwork. Along with them were some creepy as fuck scions and husks, as if we needed more proof that the Reapers were involved. We got out just before the Collector ships weapons came online. BUT... EDI also learned that the turian signal was fake and that there was no way TIM couldn't have known. He sent us into a trap without telling us. I confronted him, he came up with his excuses but I learned we need some kind of IFF that could be found on a derelict Reaper. Yep, a Reaper than had been killed 37 million years ago by a weapon powerful enough to take it down. But I wasn't done with my recruiting and some of my squad still didn't have their heads on straight.
Wasted time putting multiple power cells into a mech to get some resources. It was a good haul but ultimately not something I needed to be doing.
Went to a colony under attack by batarians. Fired a couple of javelin missiles at a human colony. By the time I fought my way through there was only one remaining code. I could either save the industrial area, which would kill a hundred thousand people, or save those people and kill the industry and its viability as a colony. Lives trump money in my opinion. Yeah, these colonists can't stay but they are alive.
Randomly came across a colony whose heat shields were failing. For some reason I had to fix it because damned if they could get their sorry asses in gear to do it themselves.
MSV Strontium Mule was the location of a Prothean relic. It was infested by Blue Suns mercs. I killed them all but there were bodies of the crew mutilated beyond recognition. There was no reason for that. Could have locked them in a room instead. Captain's log said they were lured by a fake distress beacon. That was a beacon that led me to Sanctum. Killed the shit out of the mercs there and destroyed whatever Prothean relic they had.
Couple messages: 1) Toombs is pissed off at me and 2) Chorban connected the keepers and the Citadel to the Reapers. Good job on his part given he had no access to the things I did. Noted the 50,000 year cycle we had learned about, as well as that NOW was 50,000 years since the Protheans died.
Back to the Citadel. Recruited thief Kasumi Goto. Captain Bailey offered to make me "alive" in the system but I asked he not do so. Did I lot of little things, including getting insanely drunk, before meeting the Council. They no longer believed the Reapers were real and weren't happy that I was working with Cerberus. Compromise was to reinstate my Spectre status but stick to the Terminus Systems while working with Cerberus. I agreed. If I could get Council resources, fine, but I might need them down the road anyway. Better not to completely alienate them, though they almost make me wish I hadn't saved the Destiny Ascension. Almost. More would have died had that ship gone down than in the ships from the Alliance fleet. And it would have left the galaxy leaderless, which would have been a bad idea.
Got ambushed by Khalisah al-Jilani. She was that poor excuse for a reporter who tried to make me look bad last time I was on the Citadel. And here she was trying to do it again, suggesting maybe I wasn't so pro-humanity given I'd given the order that sacrificed Alliance ships to save the DA. I set her straight, naming off every destroyed ship and telling her they deserved better from the Alliance and from her. I win.
Important! I bought fish, model ships and a space hamster!
That's all for now.

Jaysen Shepard:
Citadel: Time to take care of Garrus's problem. There was the guy, Sidonis, who betrayed Garrus and his team, leaving ten dead. After beating the shit out of Harkin, who used the alias of Fade, we were directed to Sidonis. Garrus did shoot Harkin in the way. I approved. We found Sidonis and the guy looked like a wreck. Maybe he was guilty or maybe just afraid for his life. I checked and double checked if Garrus really wanted to go through with it. He did, I helped get Sidonis into Garrus's sights and BOOM. Well, not boom, because the rifle was silent, but you get the point.
Went to Bekenstein to help out Kasumi Goto. I pretended to be some arms dealer named Solomon Gunn so we could gain access to Donovan Hock's vault, which contained a graybox of Kasumi's dead lover. Don't know what a graybox even is but whatever. We get there and she stowed my equipment in a gold statue of Saren that was being given as a gift. I was okayed to get in but not her. Maybe the fact that she didn't bother changing into dress clothes was the reason.
Jumped through some hoops, got access to the vault, got the graybox, killed a lot of mercs and then killed Hock. Fun for the whole family! The graybox apparently held some info that would be damaging to the Alliance and somehow linked them to his memories. Which were in the graybox. Somehow. Kasumi wanted to hang onto it but her dead lover wanted her to destroy it. I convinced her to do that.
Migrant Fleet - The quarians are a bunch of assholes. Probably obvious from how they handled the whole geth situation. They claimed Tali sent active geth to the fleet, that it became active and murdered everyone about a lab ship. Yep, they told her during the trial that her father had been killed by geth on that lab ship. Dick move. Here's who I didn't hate: Kal'Reegar, Veetor, the Captain of the Rayya. Oh, and they changed her name from "nar Rayya" to "vas Normandy" just to be dicks. As her captain I was her defense.
We went to the ship, killed all the geth, and we learned Tali's father had fucked up and activated the geth. We had hard evidence but Tali begged me not to reveal it because he would be branded a traitor forever. We went back. They wanted evidence. I shouted them down and basically told them Tali's record of service against the Saren was all the evidence they needed. It worked. Fuck those guys.
Zorya: Some mercs had taken over a mining facility. An old pal of Zaeed's was there, someone he wanted to kill. Zaeed set the place on fire while miners were in there. Wanted to throttle him. He didn't care if those people died so long as he killed Santiago. I saved the people and Santiago got away. I don't know why he doesn't just ask TIM to find the guy so we can go on a mission that's SOLELY to kill him.
Zeona: Got a Hammerhead. Collected data. Job could have been handled by a LOKI mech. SHOULD have been handled by a LOKI mech.

Been playing ME2 quite a bit lately, got my signature charge + geth shotgun blast to the face technique down pat again. Timing it so one lands just after the other is so satisfying, then clearing the room as your screen turns red... love living on the edge as a Vanguard.

Jaysen Shepard did a lot today. Probably too much to list for one post. Which is fine since the game crashed as soon as I lay eyes on the Shadow Broker. Given that ugly mug it's no surprise.
Went to Tartith following a communications beacon or something. Found some Not-Rachni. The Rachni Queen said I'd never hear from her again and I believe her. In any case, I killed all the Not-Rachni I found, and the Blood Pack, before activating a comm tower. Learned they were planning some kind of invasion that I was going to have to stop.
Eldfell-Ashland Energy installation on Helyme. A bunch of Eclipse mercs kept running right into my line of fire. I was just doing target practice against points on the wall and then run in front of my fire. Kind of like my squadmates do. They died, I grabbed some intel and we were on our way.
Ilium: Found out Liara is there. Some asari gave me a message from the Rachni Queen which was embedded in her memory. Creepy AF. I did just say those things were Not-Rachni. I'm going to be pissed if that's not true. Ran into Gianna Parasini. Helped her nail some asari smuggler (or something like that). Got a beer out of it, and a kiss on the cheek. Eternity: Conrad Verner was dressed in knock-off N7 armor. He claimed to need the deed for Eternity to stop a red sand smuggling operation. To save him from being eviscerated by the asari bartender, I looked into it. A conniving asari wanted to steal Eternity. I "convinced" her to tell Conrad he was very helpful and then get the hell out. She did and I got a discount. More little stuff. Blah blah. Miri's Mission: It was a clusterfuck. Lots of intrigue, death and betrayal. Short story is that Miranda's genetic twin was about to be kidnapped by their father (long story) and Miri wanted to stop it. We killed a lot of mercs, which is always fun, and saved Oriana (the sister). It ended, Miri smiled and I think she finally likes me. I also found a wedding ring.
On the Normandy, Jack and Miri were having a fight. "Cerberus was mean to me!" "It wasn't us but you deserved it!" Or something. Catfight so the details don't really matter. I broke it up and told them to save it for the Collectors. They did. I did not get the video Joker wanted. I checked in on my fish. Dead. Space Hamster? Alive and as cuddly as ever. I wonder why EDI can't just auto-press the fish feeding button for me. It'll save me some money.
Thane Krios was up next. He was planning to assassinate Nassana Dantios. Couldn't happen to a nicer woman. She's asari. I'm seeing a pattern here. I get to Dantius Towers and LOKI mechs are hunting workers. This infuriated me and I wondered if I could kill the bitch twice. I did kill a lot of mercs, because there's no reason for them to live. Also rescued some workers along the way. Found some salarian genetic something something on a datapad. Lineages or whatever. Maybe belongs to one of the dead salarian workers around here. Eventually reached Nassana's Office. She thought I was there to kill her, which wasn't a surprise. I mean, I would have done so but I watched the assassin drop down from the ceiling and gut that bitch. Made my day. Recruited!
Shiala from Zhu's Hope was looking a little green. Yep, just like when the Thorian cloned her. Biala Frontiers was helping them but then running invasive medical procedures for no reason. The rep was an asari (who'd have thought?). I confronted her, got her in tears over why her dead family wouldn't have approved and got an amended contract that didn't include unwanted surgery.
Samara is apparently some badass asari vigilante. Or super-hero, based on how other asari act around her. She and other Justicars have a code of ethics and nobody better get in their way. The asari themselves are okay with it. They get nervous when Justicars leave asari space because other species' don't take as kindly to this kind of vigilantism. Except when it's done by Spectres. We get away with everything. She was tracking someone. An asari cop (a good one) was being forced to detain her, which was almost definitely going to get her killed. I was asked to find what ship "someone" flew out on. The Eclipse Sisters, all of whom are asari (SURPRISE!!!), were in the way. Killed them all, got the data, saved a "Biotic God" from himself and got Samara to swear an oath to me. Weird but whatever. She's on my team.
Next Up: Lair of the Shadow Broker

Spent my evening doing the Illium quests, including LOTSB. One of my favorite hubs of all of the Mass Effect canon despite the contrived nature of all the familiar faces in this tiny, tiny glimpse of the Illium megacity. I always take Miranda on the Shadow Broker raid, it just feels appropriate given the history she shares with Liara and Feron. It's a pity they never really talk to each other and acknowledge it during the mission. The fight against the Broker is always fun, seeing my femshep boldly charge that beast never gets old. Eh, she is a cyborg with bone and muscle enhancements, so why not?
