Spent my evening doing the Illium quests, including LOTSB. One of my favorite hubs of all of the Mass Effect canon despite the contrived nature of all the familiar faces in this tiny, tiny glimpse of the Illium megacity. I always take Miranda on the Shadow Broker raid, it just feels appropriate given the history she shares with Liara and Feron. It's a pity they never really talk to each other and acknowledge it during the mission. The fight against the Broker is always fun, seeing my femshep boldly charge that beast never gets old. Eh, she is a cyborg with bone and muscle enhancements, so why not? What history do they share? Is it something from a comic or novel? I always take Garrus or Tali because of the shared history. Redemption comic series. Liara and Feron team up with Cerberus to recover Shepard's body from the Collectors. masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Mass_Effect:_Redemption_1

Finished up the loyalties last night and ground out some N7s. Finally got that shotgun extra rounds upgrade, I had forgotten how much better it makes lugging the geth shotgun around. I still have Overlord, Arrival and some N7's left but I'll leave those for post Suicide Mission. Later I'll pick up Legion, do his quest and head through the relay. One of these days I need to do a classic 'blind' playthrough and not do all the loyalties before getting Legion. Going for a perfect run this time, but tragic runs with 3-4 deaths are good in their own way as well. It's just been a few years since my last trilogy run so I wanted a full Citadel party once I take this to ME3.

I kinda lied. I thought about Thane's terrible scenes in ME3 (talk about his disease more then his moronic fight with Kai Leng) so I decided he would heroically meet his end on the Collector Base. At least it was quick, catching a Harbinger bolt to the face has gotta hurt. Saved the base for TIM, I just have to see his cheeky grin while he admires the schematics. That and Cerberus having all this reapertech makes more sense with the intact base. Bummed around and did all the remaining N7s but still have Overlord and Arrival to finish before ME3. I allowed myself to get distracted with my Illium game (Asari mod) in Stellaris for most of Saturday, otherwise I'd be a third the way through ME3 by now with this character.

So I've been playing the engineer recently in ME3 SP. And I decided to try out using the Drone Master build when I was watching RedCaesar97's playthrough on youtube.
Not an exact copy of the build but with a few of my own changes. I won't lie you can screw over the basic mobs pretty hard, because when you have the suicide drone, defense drone, and sentry turret, you make them have a hard time trying to close the gap on you.
What I end up doing is setting myself up so i'm in cover and the rest of the pet powers just stun everything near me. I have yet to see how i'll fare using this build on some of the harder missions, like grissom academy so I wonder how that will go lol.

Managed to retake normandy with drone master engineer without too much trouble. The few times I did die against clone Shep was because I wasn't being patient enough even though I had him on lockdown and cornered.
Also was able to finish a full match in the armax arena against the clone Sheps. Which took a long while to figure out, how the heck was I gonna beat them as a drone master of all builds on the engineer. But despite that, it felt very satisfying in the end.

ME 2
Morinth ME 2 Build (continuation)
Horizon
Team Garrus: always take him because of the dialogue for that stupid-made scene with VS + his CB + SR come in handy as well Mordin: since he was excited to check himself his own invention + incinerate
Before calibration part nothing so interesting: - just used Dominate for different enemies, changing them - team abilities - shooting - running- hiding according to situation
Defense Calibration Area - usually like to run all over the place shooting and using abilities, so did the same - Mordin is for husks - Garrus CB is for everything + SR... - killed Scions running here and there and shooting + incinerate - was rather difficult: not that it was a surpise - w/o Scions became easy: BP for different enemies as usual - the last part: like to run around those crates, parked the team not far watchimg them all the time as they have suicide tandencies too early
------ Watched stupid cutscene, enjoyed Garrus nice comment, Shepard's comment about stupidity and final "have enough of this".
------ Some notes about Horizon: - the best way to play with this build: use Dominante here and there to create discord and meanwhile eliminate others; thus can shoot and run and PT is fun. But team abilities are required anyway - even used SG in some places - just a lot of shooting (already feel myself a soldier, only lost Revenant) - died several times as well as my team in different places: could not adjust in time I think - Garrus, btw, stole half of my kills with his sniping ------
Got Jacob and Miranda LMs.
------ Upgrades: - biotic damage + biotic duration - heavy skin + bone + miscle weave ------
Took in some quests. Some of them gave in.
Mostly was on hated Ilium full of blue stupid slavers and one blue who can't restrain herself from touching me. Annoying.
At least met Gianna Parasini and my fan. Always a pleasure.
------
N7 missions to get upgrades: - two Blue Suns mission - Geth apocalypse
Two missions are left. Decided to do LMs of two girls.
Jack LM: - took Miranda - usual way of spreading chaos in enemy ranks by planting a decoy right in the middle of them and taking advantage of it - almost used to such PT
Miranda LM (one of my favorite): - Garrus - OL + OL + warp + some combo - decoys here and there, changing them gives advantage as well and makes missions more alive; the main thing is to get rid of enemy protection ------
After went to take pictures for Jeff and yell at both girls to remind why they are here. Success.
TIM wants to talk again.

I've started another ME3 playthrough to compliment my other one, so two simultaneous campaigns going, 1 renegon sheploo talimancer and the other pure renegade femshep liaramancer. Anyways, I wanted to make some edits to the save so I loaded up my old gibbed editor and noticed it was a 2013 build. Went to Nexus and found the 2020 build, there are so many more options now! In case you haven't looked recently I advise updating your gibbed editor, it makes crafting alternate playthroughs much easier than starting from scratch.

Been replaying ME2 these past few days. Ended up seeing new stuff I had completely missed in previous gameplays, such as the funny advertisement for a drink in an automated food machine located in Zakera Ward's Warehouse.

episode 8 is uploaded we did not advanced much in this one, as we spent the first 30 minutes searching a quest for bar la von in the galactic map (and failed to find it) , and then, proceeded to do some minor quest in the citadel. i was quite salty on this one but in the next episode things should get better

I replayed Ilos to the end of ME twice. I still love the moment Shepard busts out of the elevator to walk up to the council chambers.

On a whim I decided to try and make a vanguard build that uses carnage as the bonus power. Will say this isn't a game breaking OP build, but it's still fun to play regardless. This build it can go in different directions on what you can do with it such as: - Freeze red health enemy in the distance with Talon Pistol (With Cryo ammo) + Carnage for Cryo explosion
- Charge + Nova to strip enemy shields then freeze with Talon while they're staggered + charging again / nova half blast for CE, OR Nova Cancel to safety and come back later to carnage the frozen guy after cooldown on charge is finished.
- Freeze red health enemy with that's stupid enough to get close to you then charge / nova / carnage
- Carnage an enemy and use a detonator power from squadmates to detonate the carnage for fire explosion
- Carmage an enemy and nova them since carnage has a short duration on how long it primes the enemy for a FE. Nova is a good way to self detonate your carnage provided you have the shields to use nova. You can even be daring if you decide to use carnage and then sprint for that enemy and nova them in the face, risky to do but at least another option in your sleeve should you find the opportunity to do so.
For equipment and skill evolutions: Umbra visor + full serrice Talon Pistol: Power Mag + piercing I picked the Talon as my choice of gun for priming with Cryo ammo. Very nice for priming as an example you shoot the foot of a cerberus trooper up close and it'd still freeze him solid lol. Full fitness Full power damage on passive Nova: Radius, Half blast, Pierce Charge: Radius, Power Synergy, Barrier Carnage: Radius, Recharge Speed, Damage Cryo ammo: Duration / Squad Ammo ( You can either way on this one, but for me I went with duration), Ammo Cap, Damage Combo Teammates: Liara + EDI with acolyte pistols My final thoughts if you did spec into incendiary ammo on the vanguard then there's really no reason to use Carnage or even Cryo ammo. But for me freezing enemies and getting CEs are more fun than getting only fire explosions all day. Otherwise I enjoy this build a lot made me remember why the vanguard can be really fun to play with all it's charging and nova-ing shenanigans.

Finally finished ME1 as Dumbass Shepard (yes, that's her name) who is deliberately choosing all the worst outcomes in the series. Some of her achievements so far: never recruited Garrus, got Wrex killed, pissed off Tali (did not give her the geth data), got everyone in Feros colony killed, ratted on Gianna Parasini getting her AND Anoleis killed, got everyone on Peak 15 killed (except the Volus), killed the Rachni Queen, led on Kaidan then got him killed, sacrificed the Council, nominated Udina to be the chairman, and so on. She romanced Liara because, well, Liara's the only one who will be able to stay alive through most of the series . Though Shepard is totally going to cheat on her in ME2, then get her new flame killed on the suicide mission, then get back to Liara. My goal is to get everyone killed except for Morinth and (most likely) Zaeed. ... man, her Citadel house party is going to be depressing. Even Ashley is going to be absent since I have some... less desirable plans for her in ME3. This playthrough has been so painful that I had to simultaneously start a replay of my favorite Shepard (Renegon m!Shep). One reason why this has taken so long because I've effectively played the game twice. I've been alternating between the two saves because after messing everything up with Dumbass I could then switch to a more competent Shepard and feel better about myself. Also wanted to enjoy a more cohesive roleplay because Dummy Shepard is all over the place on purpose.

I finished ME2 yesterday - ah, the epicness of it all! It was only my 2nd full PT because I'm really bad in completing games in general. My Shep's an engineer and it took him quite a few levels to NOT be squishy as heck but the wait really pays off in the end. Even if I knew what to expect, I was totally nervous before the Suicide Mission but everything went fine - it was basically a walk in the park (okay, I play on normal difficulty like the filthy casual gamer I am, don't judge me xD). Somehow, I completely forgot about the drone that boards the Normandy shortly before arrival on the base. It felt like a whole new level I never played before. Yay for my sieve brain! Now I'm super eager to start ME3 although I feel my fear of Banshees creep upon me already.

ME 2
Morinth ME 2 Build (continuation)
Strategy is clear (how I use BP "Dominate"); have to rely upon team abilities anyway and shoot a lot. That's it.
Collector Ship
After Horizon get the rest teammembers after the Collector Ship Plot Quest and DLC LoftheSB. So for that plot quest usually take Mordin (he is very useful companion everywhere) and Garrus. Now decided to take Mordin and already loyal Zaeed, so fire everywhere. Actually it was not so bad: died three times, had plenty of ammo, finally felt my "throw" useful during the husk part in the end. Zaeed is like Garrus: made impressive SR damage to Scions (Mantis). And not only to them.
------ Finally (damn annoying but no money and want fish) could stop flirting with Kelly as she suggested after dinner to feed my fish. Now can actually buy fish. ------
Picked up some upgrades for health and tech specs.
Did one n7 non-combat mission (need money). Bought tech upgrade (№ 5).
DLC LoftheSB (anyway play it after Collector ship to respec my team ASAP).
Took Kasumi + Garrus (sometimes take Mordin, though checked all companions there out of interest).
After took Kasumi.
One thing to mention: "throw" was really shinning. Felt myself useful, not lazy Shepard.
Yahg encounter: Liara abiities + just running in circles and shooting. Nothing else to do.
Helped poor Kasumi while power-hungry Liara manifested (would not mind to fall down on Kasumi instead of Liara in any case).
Now expect useful gifts and professional help from new "all under control" SB.

ME3Claymore SoldierIn ME2 long ago had "Claymore Soldier PT". Remember liked it a lot and decided to make ME3 continuation. Created Shepard but she was frozen as "reasons". Now decided to continue. ------ In the beginning used other SGs and nothing else, for training. Do not know what team is better. Hope Ash will fit in here (just like to use her). Conditions as in ME2: - use only Claymore (in ME2 there were situations where used other weapons as had no choice) - BP: Energy Drain (in ME2 was NSh) - Build: CSh, any ammo, AR, Passives, ED - Team: unknown fow now. As usual import ME2 lvl 30, use Editor to get lvl 1 with the same ME1/2 decisions. Build for now (lvl 12 after Menae) is sort of help for myself as took CSh just in case (even if it is one point) and incendiary ammo (as for now do not know what ammo is better). The warm -up was good, died only once, did not spam CSh. Now it's time for Spectre business before get to important things.

Playing on normal is fine, I really was not good in ME2 when I first started, it was very appalling how bad I was at ME2, it didn't help the fact that it was my first 3rd person shooter game I've ever gotten into, so I don't blame ya honestly I remember feeling eager as well to start ME3 when I finished ME2 good times ahaha. All I'll say is hopefully you have a blast playing ME3, and enjoy everything that the game has to offer.

Replayed ME3 this past week. This time, I noticed how Legion becomes increasingly more and more like an organic as the Quarian/Geth mission progresses. Just pay attention to how his speech pattern changes radically from a more geth/machine-like speech to a more emotional one with each cutscene.
First, he argues with Admiral Raan about the Quarians being the ones to blame for the Geth having sought the Reapers for help. When Raan says the Geth attacked her people, he counters her accusations by saying the Geth were trying "to save themselves from you". The way he expresses himself is very un-Geth-like and makes it sound as though two people are arguing, not an AI and a living person. Later on, right after Shepard goes into the Geth consensus, we see Legion argue passionately with Shepard about the need to hide his true intention from the Quarians in order to save the Geth. He sounds anxious and his tone of voice is urgent as he justifies his actions to the Commander. An ordinary geth would remain cool and in control, just like he did in ME2 during his conversations with Shepard.
Lastly, after the Reaper is killed, if you choose to let the Geth die, he argues how the Geth can not only help humanity build the Crucible, but also defend Earth. By then, his speech sounds radically different from how it was in ME2 and his logic and argumentation are more organic than machine-like at this point, to the point where he refers to himself as "I" before his programs forever leave his physical platform.
I hadn't noticed these details when I first played the game, but I'm glad I now did. It was a nice touch to show how the Reaper upgrades affect the Geth until they finally turn into a fully-evolved AI.

ME1
Have several Shepards.
Decided to play a little for Infiltrator: it is for "evil PT" PC but with lvl 50 + something.
Have the second PT now: usual PT (not evil), will change some choices and get lvl 60.
Anyway. Last time finished Noveria. So dicided to do some side missions before going to Feros (with getting Liara right before Ilos and yell at her). Took Ash and Garrus for killing bugs. Side Note: try to use Ash more often (usually take Wrex as he is a very good tank with biotic abilities).
After ME2/ME3 playing ME1 evokes very warm feelings. Love this game.
ME 2
Morinth ME 2 Build (continuation)
Now need some scanning to do (again) and go shopping, thus - need money.
Did Normandy Crash.
Jacob LM: - Mordin helped with mech armor - after pull + throw combination: dangerous in a way as remember mechs stuck somehere, even my vanguard charged and stuck in some rock, this time got lucky as mechs either flew away or hit and broke - with humans everything went very smooth and fast - tbh it is the fastest PT of this LM (AFAIR at least)
Garrus LM - Jack (always take her, though Mordin is better as there is armor everywere) - Blue Suns were helping with mechs - mechs were flying all over the place thanks to "pull + throw" and SW
After had a chat with Garrus so now he is thinking not only calibration, but also about reach and flexibility.
Garrus respec: gave him squad Ammo this time, skip his Passive in such cases. AP ammo is very useful for armored enemies.
Tali Recruitment One of my favorite missions. Usual double OL Team: Mirandaa + Garrus To tell the truth the thought of using against geth only "throw" and shoot made me very sad. Was wrong. Very. It was very fun to throw geth against walls and finish them with shooting/melee/SG/another throw/team ability. The mission went not so fast as usual but very close.
Got Tali (need her only for ship unpgrade).

Well, I started ME1 once more. This time, with a FemShep Inflitrator. But, despite that being the news, I wanted to share a TIL story. The songs played on ME2 bars (such as Upper and Lower Afterlife, Dark Star Lounge, Eternity) were never Bioware creation, but taken from other rejected ideas for EA IPs such as Need For Speed or from composers that were not given credit. According to Jesse James Allen - the composer of the Original Recording for Lo Fi Epic, the original song was made for the EA Sports Arena Footbal game (To be released February 2006), but got rejected for it being too techno. Time went forward and he heard his song featured on the game. You can go to the comment of the original video to read more about the story Or you can read it here
I am the composer of this music cue and this version was made from the original master recording.
I took to the stage at "The Abby" with Orlando Story club to tell the tale of this music track I "unintentionally" wrote for Mass Effect 2 that went on to become both a fan favorite and a viral meme.
________________________________
So for you Mass Effect 2 Fans here is perhaps one of the oddest "making of stories" you will hear. This track "Lo Fi Epic" was actually composed for the EA Sports Arena Football game in February of 2006 but never saw the light of day, hitting the cutting room floor after a producer nixed it for being "Too Techno" . The track went into the music archives and lived on the main server network for years.
Fast forward to 2010 when I was sitting down with my new copy of Mass Effect 2. I am a huge Mass Effect fan, I had played through version 1 many times. So one can only imagine my reaction when I walked into the lower level of "Club Afterlife" and heard this track... At first I said "hummm that sounds very familiar" then it hit me "Holy crap I wrote that!".
Sadly I was not credited in the game for this piece of music but neither was:
Saki Kaskas - Callista - Upper Club Afterlife (Originally used in Need For Speed Hot Pursuit)
John Morgan - Happiness - Dark Star Lounge
Comaduster - To Hide To Seek - Eternity Bar
This story got even crazier when I Googled the name of the ME2 planet this music was found on, there was a user on You Tube that had extracted the file from the PC version of the game and identified me as the composer; his video had over 100,000 views with many comments about who wrote it and where they could find it. EA Traxx or whoever passed along the cue to Bioware renamed the track "The Techno Madness Mix" but had left my name in file name or metadata.
I had actually met the sound design team for Mass Effect up in Canada during a sound design for video game meeting; the Mass Effect audio director and I talked at length during that meeting, I expressed my interest and support for their projects. While working on Warhammer I even helped produced some sounds for their games to use. So I can't say I don't know how this all happened but in my wildest dreams I would have never imagined Lo Fi Epic making it into Mass Effect 2 much less the fans reaction to this track (Thank you all). I even got an email from the Mass Effects' main composer Jack Wall that stated he heard so many good things from fans about "Lo Fi Epic" (Of course I am in awe of Jacks score for the game).
Hearing "Lo Fi Epic" in game reminds me of the days when I use to have acetates cut of my music and taking it to clubs. That feeling of watching hundreds of people dance to something I created was beyond words... this track in Mass Effect immortalized that feeling for me. Anyway that is the crazy story of Lo Fi Epic and Mass Effect 2.
Due to the license I was under when I composed the original version I can't offer a download link but feel free to listen to it here and check out all my other original music I have posted on my you tube channel.

ME 2
Morinth ME 2 Build (continuation)
Tuckanka
After those "Shepard!! You are working with Cerberus!! They did this and that!!!" to hear "Shepard! My friend!" is so heart-warming.
Strangely had money to buy everything there.
Grunt LM - Mordin for help - in the very end when only the leader was left my team died; was trying to keep them safe, but needed to loot the place - got breeding request
Mordin LM - Garrus: always take him there do not even why - krogans simply charged each other
Samara Recruitment - Grunt + Jack Grunt respec: CB + Squad Ammo + Passive (the same thing with Legion - no GSB for him, but Jacob keeps his 1 Barrier point). Remove since they activate it w/o permission, as well as ammo actually.
Not gonna lie: always take this team beacause find their comments during the mission as the best. Not that they are useless, not at all: ammo, CB + Jack's abilities for interruption and there are many places to fall. My own "throw" was used all the time.
Even with using Dominate the mission went fast as always. Was suprised as using Dominate usually prolongs any mission.
And now Kelly always bothers me with "talk to Tali". Ignore.
Next: get assassin, Samara LM and after annoying "husk" mission with Legion and his LM. Think aftr will be time for SM.
