So, there is apparently a whole new dialogue wheel of options to talk to Kaidan about at the first hospital visit. The auto convo ends, you click on him again and - 5 new options! Even a flirt one. OMG - I have played this game soooo many times and I never knew those options were there! Why wasn't I told about this??!

Jarec Shepard:
- Tracked down Samara's daughter to Omega. She was very interesting but her mind control thing convinced me she was the enemy. She died for it. - Investigated a derelict Reaper to recover its IFF to get through the Omega-4 Relay. Though dead, it needed additional killing. Also, acquired a new squadmate, a geth that called itself Legion. - Learned the "evil" geth who helped Sovereign were heretics. Decided it was best to kill them rather than risk them corrupting the other geth. - Favorably resolved a conflict between Tali and Legion. - Joker saved the Normandy from the Collectors. Entire crew abducted while all of the squad was away. - Went through the Omega-4 relay. Rescued crew but unable to save colonists. Fought a gigantic pro-Reaper in the form of a human skeleton. It died, we all lived, I destroyed the Collector base and parted ways with Cerberus.

Following up on my previous post: it occurred to me yesterday morning that Talitha has a Meaningful Name: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talitha_(given_name)Gospel of Mark, chapter 5, verse 41Right, on with the show! Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME1 Hardcore: Finished scanning the keepers. First time I've completed that quest Chatted with Tali and learned the history of the geth. Praised by Admiral Hackett for not punching al-Jilani. In the Artemis Tau cluster with Garrus and Liara: Edolus: detected a signal from a distress beacon, a clue to the whereabouts of Admiral Kahoku's marines. The beacon was a trap that had lured the marines into a thresher maw's nest. Melody put Akuze out of her mind as she blasted the thresher with the Makoq's main cannon, then finished it off up close and personal with her shotgun. Sharjila: stormed a pirate stronghold. The pirate boss turned out to be Dahlia Dantius. Melody will have words with her sister the next time she's on the Citadel. Hades Gamma cluster with Garrus and Liara: Trebin: eliminated another thresher maw, same tactics as last time. Encountered a survey team who had been huskified by an alien artefact; no option but to eliminate husk mob. Neutralized hostile scavengers and recovered a crashed space probe. Deactivated the transmitter that was interfering with the space probes. Klensal: acting on information supplied by shady businesswoman Helena Blake, stormed a crime lord's hideout and eliminated the whole gang. MSV Ontario: a gang of biotic terrorists had seized the vessel and were holding a hostage: Chairman Burns, an Alliance politician who had voted against reparations for victims of L2 side-effects. After being repeatedly ragdolled by the terrorists, Melody was in no mood to negotiate. She took the terror squad down. Burns was killed in the crossfire. Ugh, biotic enemies on Hardcore, so many do-overs... Goodness knows how I'm going to get through Noveria! I fear that trying to play ME1 on Hardcore may be punching above my weight somewhat. The assault on the crime lord's base was fun though, I've got the sniper rifle levelled up enough that I can just about aim it now

Jarec Shepard, imported into ME3, Vanguard/Butcher of Torfan/Earthborn, switched from Reave to Slam as bonus power. Skipped Arrival DLC in ME2 because it's long and I wanted to move on. On with the show:
- Been in "protective custody" at Alliance HQ in Vancouver for 6 months now after turning myself in. Found out Kaidan was promoted to major. Also, Reapers are invading and the Alliance Council has no idea what to do. Fortunately, they all die and no longer have to consider the implications of ignoring my warnings for the past three years. - Refusing to listen to me led to a full scale Reaper invasion. Earth is under siege. Escaped on the Normandy with Alenko and Lt. James Vega when Anderson ordered me to the Citadel to get help. - Once in flight, a transmission came through from Hackett ordering me to Mars to get plans for some kind of super weapon to destroy the Reapers.

Lilith Shepard, infiltrator, ME3Too time consuming for me to try to compose coherent text in English, so, mostly screenshots. **** Met the quarians in Far Rim. Turns out that they considered it was the best time to start a war against the geth, now with the reapers harvesting the galaxy. Geth are working with the reapers - nothing new here. Also, quarian exile is not so permanent, as Tali tried to convince me some months ago. Boarded a geth dreadnought to disable the reaper upgrade signal broadcasted to all geth. Via a tube. Took time to admire the view. Found Legion. He was used as broadcasting medium. Freed him, despite Tali's concerns. Admiral Gerrel considered it was a wise decision to fire the geth dreadnought with us still onboard. My fist tried to see how hard the quarian enviro-suits are - not so hard and definitely not protective enough. Admiral Koris, the only voice of reason in this house of madness that is quarian fleet, crashed on Rannoch. Launched a search and save operation. Needed to take down a geth jamming tower to be able to locate Koris. Cortez did it. Koris didn't want to be saved, but instead to go and save his civilian people. I needed to use my natural "charm" to "convince" him to give us his location. Also showed Garrus how to put into practice all these discussions about "ruthless calculus of war". Managed to avoid in the last moment a rocket taking out my head - dodging rockets with face is a turian specialty, not human. ***** This mission brought me a lot of paragon points. I hate to be obliged to take the paragon options, but just can't agree with quarians here.

Bought the whiskey for Kaidan for my next visit. Shame that there's such a selection of gifts for Ashley, but only whiskey for Kaidan. What if he'd prefer flowers? Can you even give Ash the other stuff? Benjamin tried buying her a non Tennyson book to extend her range of poetic knowledge, but he never gave her the book. Could also just be that he was greedy and kept it to himself. I think Kaidan should have gotten a teddy bear. And he'd be like "Ok...cool" and given Shepard this "Really?" look. But then later on the Normandy, you'd see the teddy propped up on one of the lounge chairs. Maybe with a small glass in his paws. Oh and for ME1 biotics, I find Damping tends to cramp their style. I think Tali and Garrus have it. Even if it only hits one, it's one less direction to dodge singularity from. Also Neural shock can help as well. Can't toss singularity when you are writing on the ground in pain after all --- Dealt with Virmire yesterday. Karan picked Ash despite the coin toss constantly picking Kaidan. A final note in Kaidan's ledger. The sad music on the Normandy was nice. Karan then took Tali and Ash to kill some Geth in Kaidan's honor.

Oh yeah, I had Garrus using Damping on the biotics (for the three seconds or so that he wasn't out cold). The tactic I eventually used to win the battles was to kite the terrorists back through a door so I could deal with them a couple at a time, i.e. exactly what I'd do in ME3MP. I was surprised that there were only six terrorists, the game is very good at making a small number of baddies feel like a lot more (again, much like ME3MP).

Biotics in ME1 are so OP. I loved being able to lift entire rooms of things. When I imported my Adept into 2 and then 3, my level of disappointment at no Lift ability was monumental. It was the best power in ME1 and they took it away!

Karan, Ash and Tali finished planting Geth corpses today. He then took Garrus and Ashley to see the doctor, sadly the doctor did not survive. It always surprises me that he can only take one shot, since everyone else seems to need at least ten to go down. Anywhos. Karan then took Tali and Ash to get another doctor. This one survived but was quite delirious due to prolonged lack of food and water. Forgot how hilarious it is to dump all the Prothean lore on her. 50 years of study and then this stupid human comes along after having pretty much just tripped on all the answers. No wonder she's snippy. After chatting to Liara in the med bay, Karan had the most epic break-up in the cargo bay. Well not epic, but it was interesting. Okay it probably wasn't interesting. But a nice alignment of reasons and current events. Ash worried if she was getting preferential treatment due to Shepards interest, their view on how the Alliance should deal with the aliens and general stress as the stakes went higher. Anyways, after that Karan gave Tali the Geth data and headed to the Citadel to help organize the fleets for Ilos. But alas there was a plot twist, so Karan had to wander the Citadel streets for a while. He told a negotiator to get treatment, attended a Terra Firma rally but politely declined to endorse them and told Conrad to just go home. Karan then convinced Anderson to get shot in the leg. Because Karan is the best. It was surprisingly bad-ass cutscene. And his skin shade seemed a lot closer to the ME3 shade rather than his usual orange. So that was a nice foreshadowing. Anyways, with no missions in his log book and most planets checked out in the checklist, he was ready to head to Ilos. I know he was missing around three quests from the Citadel, but I really couldn't be bothered. Ilos was grand fun, storming the Citadel was not. Damn geth kept going berserk on Shepard instead of each other. Why you do this to me geth? Council lost the coin toss and Anderson became a Councillor. Karan and his face went to ME2 and I must say the transition was kind to him. He met Tali and let her go home with Veetor. He also convinced Harrot to "conquer the quarian child" I dearly hope it was a flowery way to say he was going to pay his way home. Because otherwise...no just no. He also recruited Mordin, did some minor side missions and parked the Normandy over Korlus, where he'll be picking up a Krogan in the next session. And since awkward smiles are the best smiles:

Ali Shepard:
1. Found an asteroid heading toward the planet Terra Nova and noticed that it was being accelerated by fusion torches. It did not look good. When I landed, someone tried to communicate with me, saying that they were under attack and asking if I could disable the torches.
2. I found out who was attacking when I went to disable the first torch: Batarians. Pretty much the same scum that attacked Elysium all those years ago. I ended them with extreme prejudice. I found out the person who contacted me was named Kate. A lead engineer named Simon was also alive and he asked me to find some of his engineers. Spoiler: they were all dead.
3. I disabled the second torch, but overheard from a terminal that the Batarians captured Kate. They also sent someone to stop me.
4. I disabled the third torch. Some more batarians showed up, obviously the ones that were sent to stop me. I got the drop on them and attacked first. I found a keycard to the main facility off one of the dead bodies.
5. the Batarians entrenched well in the facility, but we made progress before the leader showed up, a big ugly guy named Balak. He tried to justify his actions as revenge for Elysium (they attacked first) and humans taking their colony rights (they ran and hid). I tried reasoning with him, but he refused to listen. He offered me a choice: he would let the hostages go if I let him leave. It was tough call, but considering this was likely state-sponsored terrorism, I could not just let him go. Well maybe I could have -- would the Batarian Hegemony have let him try again if he had failed? I don't know. I chose to fight him, and he detonated bomb in the room with the hostages, killing them. That just made me angrier.
6. I won't lie: it was a tough fight. Both my squadmates went down at the end but I managed to avoid getting shot just long enough to take the rest of the terrorists down. Balak somehow survived, wounded though he was. He rambled on about a Batarian rebellion, so I decided to keep him alive and send him to the Alliance. Hopefully he will be more cooperative with them.
7. With the Batarians gone, Simon was able to get the asteroid turned around and back into a stable orbit around Terra Nova. With disaster averted, I headed back to the Normandy.

I've kinda rushed through the first part of my new game so I can get Kaidan back on the Normandy. Never romanced him with broShep before. I've saved the N7 missions, the rachni, and picking up Javik until after he's back. Just cured the genophage so now it's back to the Citadel for the big showdown.

Yesterday evening with Melody Shepard, Garrus and Liara: Gemini Sigma cluster: MSV Worthington: found the vessel adrift. Triggered booby-traps while exploring: fusion cells rigged to explode. Found a brain-dead crew member, Jacob, on life-support and logs indicating his partner Julia turned on the crew after they decided to switch the machine off. Encountered Julia who attacked the party on sight. Neutralized her and turned the life-support machine off. Mavigon: stormed another crime boss's hideout following another tip from Helena Blake. Hideout was defended by missile turrets, atop a mountain, on a blizzard planet; crime boss obviously thought himself safe. Citadel: Confronted Nassana Dantius about her lies. She found Melody sufficiently Intimidating that she authorized sales of Armali Council prototypes. Broke the news about the marine squad to Admiral Kahoku. He supplied intel that a rogue black ops group called Cerberus may have been responsible. Ran into Conrad Verner again. He acted a bit creepy and asked for Melody's picture. She firmly refused and he stormed off. Horse Head Nebula: Amaranthine: met with Helena Blake at a remote engineering outpost. She seemed to think she could continue where the dead crime bosses left off. Melody disagreed and dispensed summary justice. MSV Majesty: had been reported missing by Garoth, the brother of the captain. Found the derelict freighter with a faint trail leading to a nearby planet... Xawin: eliminated another thresher maw. Found a beacon that turned out to be a geth trap; eliminated four armatures. Raided a privateer stronghold and found the body of the MSV Majesty's captain. Noveria: docked at the Port Hanshan and went ashore to investigate geth interest. Melody used her Spectre privileges to firmly insist that the local police permit her and her squad to retain their weapons. Despite her Spectre credentials, Administrator Anoleis refused to let Melody proceed past the spaceport. Melody refused to spy on Mallene Calis' corporate rival, but agreed to help businessman Lorik Qui'in expose Anoleis' corruption. Obtained the evidence from Qui'in's office, neutralized a bunch of bent cops who were in Anoleis' pocket. Melody pressured Qui'in to turn the evidence over to corruption investigator Gianna Parasini. Obtained permission to leave Hanshan from Gianna; learned that Matriarch Benezia had passed through with a commando squad and a load of crates, heading for a locked-down lab. Melody departed Hanshan and was immediately ambushed by geth. Aside from a couple of derps with the thresher maw, the combat in this play session was enjoyable and fairly smooth. I've given up on trying to maintain a consistent "look" for Garrus and Liara; instead, they get whichever armour is most likely to keep them on their feet. Garrus currently has light Silverback IV, which is at least blue; Liara has light Mantis IV. Melody is in medium Onyx IV at the moment, I can use an armour mod an an omni-tool to augment its mediocre shields. I also played a few rounds of ME3MP and remembered why quarian female infiltrator with Claymore is such a fun combination Looking forward to Melody's ME3 run already.... My ME3 Insanity trophy finally synced to my N7HQ page as well.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME1 Hardcore, with Garrus and Liara on Noveria: Proceeded to Peak 15 in the Mako, stopping periodically to deal with the flashlight-headed contents of Benezia's crates. Lots of opportunity for sniper rifle fun here! Entered Peak 15, encountered krogan mercs. Melody dropped one mid-charge with a sniper shot Explored the facility, encountered rachni as well as geth. Derped on my first attempt at killing a rachni soldier. Reactivated the mainframe by playing Towers of Hanoi, learned of containment breach and attempted mitigation. Restarted reactor (on second attempt, after getting ambushed by a rocket trooper) and passenger tram; proceeded to main labs at Rift Station. Learned from security captain Ventralis that Benezia had gone to the hot labs. Proceeded to hot labs, no sign of Benezia. Learned that Binary Helix had attempted to raise "tame" rachni army with predictable results. Purged hot labs with neutron burst. Melody hit her Immunity and legged it through the horde of rachni back to the elevator before the purge killed them all. Returned to Rift Station, discovered that Ventralis was working for Benezia. Neutralized him (on second attempt) and his squad. In my previous playthroughs, I've always done the hot labs sequence after the boss fight, so Ventralis' squad turning hostile was new content for me. Explored Rift Station, rescued the volus scientist Han Olar from a commando. Proceeded through maintenance area to secure lab. Confronted Benezia, standing next to a tank containing the rachni queen. Defeated her squad of commandos and geth snipers (eventually). Obtained information about Saren's destination from Benezia while she was lucid; when Saren's mind-control kicked back in, Liara had no choice but to help Melody defeat her own mother (on their zillionth attempt). The rachni queen took control of a dead commando and started to speak through her. This monstrous alien behaving in such a bizarre fashion took Melody right back to Akuze; her fight-or-flight instinct kicked in, adrenaline coursing through her veins. Against Liara's protests, she hit the emergency switch and flooded the tank with acid. It may be a decision she will regret in the future; the queen's dying screeches will haunt her nightmares. Toured the ship, chatted with the crew. Melody politely but firmly explained to Kaidan that she is not interested in him in any way beyond being his comrade and commanding officer; checked in on Liara; and learned about Tali's family and the pressure on her. She also learned about Ashley's family and belief in a higher power, which she shares: "no atheists in foxholes" is pretty much her whole backstory. (Rachni and thresher maws being creations of the same higher power is something she prefers not to think about). And she learned from Garrus about his nemesis, criminal geneticist Dr Saleon. Citadel: broke the news to Garoth about his brother's death. Ran into Conrad Verner again. Melody didn't even give him the time of day this time. Planted a bug in C-Sec to leak information to Emily Wong for her report on overworked traffic controllers. -- Oh boy, the Benezia battle... The first time, I started the final stage of the battle with Shepard's health at about 25%, and the sniper rifle equipped. There was no time to hit First Aid, and change to the shotgun, and unleash some powers on Benezia before the commandos dropped the squad. I did try a few times, but to no avail. So I took a break, watched some YouTube videos of people playing Insanity, read some articles and decided to try again from the beginning, using the pistol. This is the first time Melody has actually used the pistol in combat; with Marksman active, it dropped Benezia very rapidly, and then it was a matter of running to cover before being overrun by the commandos. It did take two or three tries, but I got there The pistol is such an effective weapon that the "correct" thing would be to use it all the time, I suppose, but the SR and shotgun are more fun in general combat. It breaks immersion a bit, but I don't mind switching tactics for boss battles when necessary. I know I've made Hardcore difficult on myself by playing as a new Shepard rather than an NG+. No way I'd attempt Insanity with a new Shep Unlocked the sniper rifle achievement during the initial stages of the boss battle on my first attempt, so was something at least. Got enough credits for a Spectre SR now, so we'll see how that performs.

Just threw a fit on the side mission to take out the rogue VI on the Moon for the Alliance. Got nailed in the last of the 3 buildings and it reset me at the beginning.

Lilith Shepard, ME3**** Asari high command wanted us to check an asari monastery. Turns out it was an Ardat-Yakshi shelter, now overrun by reapers. Who are good at creating new types of abominations, like these banshees, out of the Ardat-Yakshi. We met Falere and Rila, the other Samara's daughters. Rila was already infected by reapers - she died detonating a bomb, taking out with her several banshees. I had to kill Falere, couldn't risk letting her live. I wonder where's Morinth. Maybe she was already among all these banshees I killed today. Back on Citadel, for some R&R before hitting the geth base on Rannoch. Girls night out with Jack. All these improvements Cerberus had for me, and they didn't make me dance better. Javik, spreading seeds of despair around in these primitives: Din Korlak, volus ambassador, was a Cerberus agent. Met Zaeed. Together, we ...persuaded the volus to save a turian colony and deliver us the volus bombing fleet. I call this a success. Back on Rannoch. We shut down a geth server. Actually, I had to enter geth consensus for this. It was a weird experience. Historic recordings inside, that paint a totally different picture of the quarian-geth conflict. In the end, Legion delivered us some geth primes. They volunteered, apparently. I bet that behind that mask, Xen is kind of green with envy. Geth base was a mess. To start with, it hid a reaper. Which I fought on foot (and defeated, with a little help from above). Legion died. All geth died. I couldn't let the quarians die. Still, it hurts, especially Legion's betrayal. I have the quarian fleet for Crucible and war effort. Time for a shore leave.

Today Karan acquired and birthed a baby Krogan. It was a beautiful moment indeed. He then tried to get himself a little super biotic, but was thwarted by his players lack of skill. I can't remember if the spawns are infinite and I need to move forward or if I can just bunker up and chill, taking them down as they come and walk over the bodies. Hopefully it is the latter. On a positive note he has been getting in plenty of headshots. And is then promptly gunned down as he's admiring the kill. But still, yay for headshots! Edit: Whoop. He made it and is now on Omega. Will probably end his session by dying multiple times while fetching Archangel. Was also reminded how much I loathe Aria. Blech.

Although the future of the galaxy is in my hands, I have decided to hang around the Citadel for now solving the minor issues the citizens seem to have.

Just finished another quick playthrough of ME1. I only played it to take a break from playing DAO/DA2. Because of course you did.

Ali Shepard:
1. I went to Virmire to go check up on one of the Council's Infiltration Units. We were forced to ground to avoid the anti-aircraft guns. We made our way in the Mako, disabling some of the AA guns along the way. When we made it to the camp, we learned that they had found Saren's base of operations. It appeared that Saren had found a cure for the genophage and was breeding an army of Krogan. Wrex was upset that we were going to destroy the base, but I was able to talk him down.
2. The Salarians needed another body, so I sent Ashley with them. My team infiltrated the base, but found a whole lot worse than a Krogan breeding facility. We found captured Salarians, husks, and a scared Asari scientist that told us Saren was studying indoctrination. We found another beacon, then talked to Sovereign, Saren's ship. File under crazy: Sovereign was more than just a ship, it was actually a Reaper! It told us it was going to destroy us all.
3. We disabled the last AA gun and the Normandy was able to drop off the bomb. Ashley called in and told us she was in trouble. Kaidan stayed with the bomb to arm it while I went off to get Ashley. Unfortunately, I was halfway to Ashley when the Geth sent in troops on top of Kaidan's location. I ran back to Kaidan to help protect the bomb... and then Saren dropped in. I tried to talk him into helping us stop the Reapers, but he was too far gone. We fought briefly, but he buggered out when the bomb countdown started. The Normandy picked us up and we flew off,... everyone except Ashley who had died when I ran back to get to Kaidan.
4. We went to go see the Citadel Council. They were setting up a blockade around the Citadel, but refused to send anyone after Saren. I tried to get them to send me after Saren, but they refused because he was in the Terminus systems. To make matters worse, they locked down the Normandy. Luckily, Anderson agreed to help me out. He hacked into Udina's computer, unlocking the Normandy and allowing me to go after Saren.
5. Liara stopped by my cabin. She had thought about our relationship and wanted it continue. I enjoyed the next few hours.
6. We raced after Saren and dropped in on a planet called Ilos, an old Prothean planet. After a brief detour to unlock a gate, we drove after Saren in the Mako before being forced to stop when we became trapped by energy barriers. The good news: it was not a trap. It was a Prothean V.I., and it told us a whole load of information: the Reapers were in dark space, the Citadel is actually a relay that leads to darkspace, the Conduit is a relay that is back door to the Citadel, the Keepers were organic gatekeepers to the Citadel that were under control of the Reapers until Prothean scientists changed their programming... It was a lot to take in. The Prothean V.I. gave us a data file that would stop the Citadel from sending in the Reapers before shutting down.
7. We drove the Mako until we found the Conduit and used it to go back to the Citadel. We chased after Saren to the Council chambers, but he shut down the elevators before we got there. We then walked outside and made it to the chambers on foot, where we found Saren. He was indoctrinated, but I managed to talk him into committing suicide so I could stop the Reapers from returning. I used the data file and it worked.
8. Joker called, and told us the council was aboard the Destiny Ascension and it was under attack by the Geth. The Alliance was coming through the relay, and told Joker to tell Hackett to help the Destiny Ascension. The Alliance came through the relay and took out the Geth ships, giving the Destiny Ascension enough time to escape.
9. Sovereign took control of Saren's body in a last-ditch effort to regain control of the station, but Kaidan, Liara, and I took turns keeping it lifted in the air with biotics. Eventually it was destroyed and the Alliance destroyed the Sovereign. I barely survived getting crushed by Sovereign debris.
10. The Citadel Council offered humanity a seat on the council. I recommended Udina. Despite his brutish nature and my urge to repay him for grounding the Normandy, he is still the top choice for the job given his love of politics and familiarity of the council. Anderson is too military for the job in my opinion. But the Reapers are still out in dark space, so I still have to find a way to stop the Reapers permanently. No guarantee they will stay in dark space forever.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME1 Hardcore: In the Kepler Verge with Garrus and Liara: Ontarom: received intel from Admiral Hackett about Alliance scientists disappearing, all of whom having connections to Akuze. The remaining scientist, Dr Wayne, had been traced to an underground facility here. Found the place guarded by heavily-armed hostiles; Melody bombarded them from a distance using the Mako's cannon to thin their numbers, then mopped up the rest with her sniper rifle. Found signs of combat in the facility, and a number of mercenaries. Melody neutralized them and proceeded further in. Found the merc leader aiming a pistol at Dr Wayne; turned out to be Cpl Toombs, one of Melody's squad on Akuze. Wayne had been involved with experimenting on soldiers under stress; Akuze thresher incident had been a set-up. Melody used her Spectre privileges and performed a summary execution, avenging her squad. MSV Fedele: Garrus' nemesis, Dr Saleon, had been traced to this vessel. Boarded the ship, found it crawling with husk-like creatures. After neutralizing them, the party encountered the doctor. He tried to plead innocence. Melody let Garrus do the honours. I think that Garrus and Melody see each other as kindred spirits, having similar morality and approaches to their work. One wonders whether hanging out with these two is influencing Liara at all, especially considering the direction that her life takes prior to ME2.
