I actually ended up playing some more Nicole Shepard last night before I went to bed.
Nicole Shepard traveled back to Tuchanka go look for the Turian platoon that had crashed. She hoped they were still alive; she had left them there a long time. Some of them were still alive, but dying quickly from attacks by Reaper forces. She saved as many as she could, and their leader, Tarquin Victus (the Primarch's son) told her about a Cerberus bomb that was planted on Tuchanka. She agreed to help take it out.
Of course, Tarquin soon told her that it was actually a Turian bomb, planted centuries ago after the Krogan rebellions. Cerberus was guarding it while while they dug it out and armed it. Nicole cut a bloody swath through Cerberus' troops and then held them off while Victus disarmed the bomb. He sacrificed himself to make sure the bomb did not detonate.
Next, Nicole went to go find the ex-Cerberus scientists that Traynor had tracked down. She found them, but Cerberus had tracked them down as well and were laying seige to their base. Nicole stopped the assaulting forces. She then held off Cerberus troops while her team helped repair the AA guns so the scientists could escape under air cover. That victory was short-lived since Cerberus took out the AA guns with suicide bombers. they continued to assault the base, but Nicole and her team held them off while the rest of the scientists escaped in shuttles, before she bugged out as well.
* * *
I was tired while playing and I think it showed in my gameplay. I was dying a lot, especially in places where I generally do not have too much trouble. Oh well, the missions are complete, and now I get to decide where to go next. I think I will play the Omega DLC next.

Today, Renegade Selina Shepard demonstrated zero tolerance for crazies (when she killed Major Kyle) and terrorists (when she killed Balak - after purposefully wounding him).
Also, this happened.

I know I'm in the middle of an Adept PT I. ME2 but I've got this hankering to do a new canon PT. I've previously had Soldier as my canon version but actually thinking of going Vanguard. Here's my decision. Do I do a gender swap and romance Kaidan clear through to ME3 or remain celibate until ME3 when we can be together. One would give me the romance right away but the other would avoid the glitches from FemShep only dialogue or being called a woman throughout ME1. The whole reason for this is a) I'm reading a great mShenko fanfic right now and I'm having a hard time roleplaying in MEA. The difficulty with the RP means my "What did you do today...?" posts for MEA are boring for me. Hence, I'm back to the trilogy. Thoughts and opinions?

Laura Shepard, Sole Survivor, Colonist With the Collectors defeated and their base destroyed, Shepard had time to look into a matter for Hackett. A scientist needed rescuing from a batarian prison, and the admiral needed Shepard to go in solo. Sneaking into the prison was easy enough, even for an engineer, and it took little time for Shepard to find and free Dr. Kenson. After fighting out of the prison, Shepard quickly learned that Kenson really did plan to crash an asteroid into the system's mass relay, for one reason that chilled Shepard to the core: in a little over two days, the reapers would be arriving through the relay to begin their invasion of the Milky Way. It turned out to be a trap. Kenson led Shepard to the artifact and pulled a weapon on her. Shepard fought off waves of security without dying (this time!) but was nonetheless captured and kept sedated. Indoctrinated glowing eyes! For a while, at least. More than a few indoctrinated peons probably shit themselves when she woke up. This bitch didn't get to look smug for very long. Shepard made it to the control area, where she learned that the cost of destroying the mass relay would be the deaths of over 300,000 people. I'm so glad that I have a job that will never require me to decide the fates of thousands of people with the push of a button, all based on a vision and the ravings of a madwoman. You have less than two hours, Shepard, and the decision falls solely to you. Because nothing ever goes as planned for Shepard, Kenson interrupted her attempt to warn the batarians and initiated a core meltdown that would destroy the asteroid. Kenson was renegaded to death, but not before triggering an explosion that knocked Shepard out for another 40 minutes or so. As Shepard ran to the comm tower, desperately trying to raise the Normandy for a pickup, Harbinger showed up via hologram just to fuck with her a little bit more. The Normandy scooped up Shepard in the nick of time, and the system was destroyed. Hackett showed up to debrief in person. While he seemed to support Shepard personally, he made it clear that others would be happy to use her as a scapegoat. I really wanted to tell him off, but that wouldn't have been in character for my girl scout, who still respects him. Still, at least he believes her. Too little, too late? Next time...ME3!

Sorry, no idea how the mod would work in this case. My only gender-modded romance was female Warden/Morrigan in DAO, but my Warden was only referred to as male in romance dialogues and romance-related banter. It was not the entire game. Still, it got pretty annoying, even though it was my own fault If you think being called the wrong gender won't shatter your immersion, though, give it a shot.

Still, it got pretty annoying, even though it was my own fault If you think being called the wrong gender won't shatter your immersion, though, give it a shot. I know how it works. You just open the console and change "gender=1" to "gender=0" which transforms FemShep into BroShep. So you've got a male Shepard who speaks in the voice of Mark Meers but everyone acts like you're a woman. This is mostly fixed in ME2 and ME3 (silent dialogue you have to read when it references that past romance and I think the email from Kaidan in ME2 calls you a woman) but otherwise those games will treat you exclusively as a male. There's a certain level of sweetness when taking either route but part of my likes the idea of Kaidan and Shepard together from the start. I've decided I'm doing an NG+ of soldier class Shepard. He's going to have to be celibate, though I might use the Gibbed Save Game Editor for ME2 to alter things so that Shepard romanced Kaidan. It still won't get me him until ME3 but at least some ME2 dialogue will acknowledge the relationship. Though Genesis will cut itself off when it gets to the romance decision. No loss there.

John Shepard/Soldier/Earthborn/Sole Survivor/Level 59:
- First mission as XO of the Normandy SR1. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant Jeff "Joker" Moreau, pegged it right that there was more to the story of a turian Spectre being aboard out ship. They don't do milk runs. Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko trusts his superiors, at least outwardly, but I knew something was up. - Navigator Pressly was distrustful of aliens while Corporal Jenkins and Dr. Chakwas also discussed unease about the mission, especially since it was to the paradisaical Eden Prime, Jenkins' home world. - After meeting with Captain Anderson and Spectre Nihlus, I learned that a Prothean beacon had been found on Eden Prime. Prothean tech was what gave us mass relays and the ability to travel the stars. It also accounted for most advanced tech, which is partially why humanity isn't too far behind other major species that we know of. We had our own Prothean Archives on Mars that leaped us much further than we'd otherwise be. Finding this beacon might help all Council races move further forward. - Aaaand...Nihlus put my name forward as a candidate for the Spectres. Very unusual given that not 30 years ago humanity and the turians were at war. That said something about what Nihlus saw both in me and the potential of humanity. - We were interrupted by a transmission from Eden Prime. It was under siege from forces unknown, but there was a video of an enormous ship in the sky, with long extensions that almost reminded me of a grasping claw. Then all communications went dead. - Went planetside with Jenkins and Alenko while Nihlus scouted ahead. Anderson wanted the beacon to be a priority but I suggested we look for survivors. I understand the important of the beacon but what good am I if I let one of humanity's colonies be completely destroyed? - Saw some weird creatures Jenkins called "gas bags" and some charred corpses. Sent Jenkins ahead to scout but he was gunned down by some recon probes, which Kaidan and I were able to take out from a distance. I told Kaidan we'd come back for his body but that the mission had to move forward. - Came upon a lone marine fighting against the geth, an race of artificial intelligent robots. They hadn't been seen outside the Perseus Veil in over 200 years but now here they were killing humans and probably after that beacon. Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams seemed very capable and I was happy to invite her to join us. - Dig site was missing the beacon but was defended by geth. Their presence suggested they didn't have the beacon and Williams suggested it might have been moved to the spaceport. - Up the hill we saw humans on spikes. When the spikes lowered, the humans got up and attacked, only they weren't human anymore. More like mindless zombies. They almost look like human versions of geth with tech running throughout the bodies. They attacked on site and exploded when they got near us. - Found a researcher and her crazy assistant. He seemed to know things and talked about the end of the age of humanity and a turian prophet leading the way. - Further ahead we saw more of those zombie husks and dragon's teeth. Also saw the ship from the video in the sky, taking off. From this vantage it looked more like a sea creature of some sort, not so much like a hand. It faded into the atmosphere and disappeared. - Found a few survivors who had survived. One of them was involved in a smuggling ring with someone from the docks. They came clean and handed over a weapon and mod. - At the spaceport we found the dead body of Nihlus. We questioned a dock worker (the smuggler) and learned that Saren, another turian he trusted, had killed him by shooting him in the back of the head. I wondered if this wasn't the turian prophet the crazy researcher had mentioned. I mentioned the smuggling and he gave me top grade grenades and an experimental mod. Also told us the beacon had been moved to a platform on the other side of the spaceport.

I wish more romances would use this buildup and I'd take this over romancing Kaidan already in ME1 even if he'd be an option for MShep. I guess it all comes down to what you prefer though

Thinking of returning to the trilogy. Wondering if I should finish off my soldier run in ME 3 or start up and adept run with a femshep in ME 1. It's been forever since I played as an adept or a femshep for that matter.

Aria was getting impatient so Nicole Shepard decided that she had heard enough of Aria's whining she would head out and help Aria retake Omega from Cerberus.
The mission started off with badly, when they learned the hard way that General Petrovsky had upgraded Omega's defenses. They had to abandoned their ship and crash into Omega with their escape pods. From there, Shepard and Aria tore through the General's toy soldiers en route to Aria's secret hideout. They even ran into an old friend of Aria's, a female Turian named Nyreen. Nyreen ditched them right after they reached the hideout.
Aria had a plan to recruit a local gang called the Talons to help her fight Cerberus. Cerberus was already attacking the Talons, so that made recruiting them much easier. It was made even easier when it turned out Nyreen was their leader. Together they held off a Cerberus siege, then made their way through Omega's mines to a reactor that was powering force fields all over the station. They made it without too much trouble, only to fall into a trap laid by the General. But Aria used her biotics to get Nicole out, who then shut down the reactor safely (because she is a good Engineer).
Then Aria and Nicole headed towards Afterlife, but had to take a detour to disarm some bombs. Nyreen committed suicide with a belt full of grenades to take out monsters called Adjutants. Aria was angry at the loss; Nicole thought Nyreen was just stupid. They made it to Afterlife where the General managed to capture Aria briefly, but Shepard freed her quickly and they killed all Cerberus goons in the vicinity before the General surrendered. Aria killed him slowly because she knows no mercy; Nicole let her do it because she did not give care.
Then Nicole headed to the Citadel and delivered some packages to people. She also talked to the Asari councilor who wants her to go grab an artifact on Thessia that could help with the Crucible.
Nicole is now left with the following choices: > go to Thessia and grab the artifact > go to Eden Prime and get the Prothean artifact > go find Dr. Garneau and see what he found out > take some shore leave
Oh decisions, decisions...

Laura Shepard, Colonist, Sole Survivor True to her word, Shepard turned herself in for the deaths of the batarians and was kept in custody on Earth. She was kept physically comfortable, but was allowed no communication with her former crew or her lover. Of course, the morons in charge finally figured out that all of Shepard's yelling about the reapers should possibly be looked into, maybe. I do love the whole opening sequence to this game, although it doesn't give me much opportunity for humor or unfunny jokes. Meeting Vega, watching Anderson poke Shepard in the belly, seeing Kaidan Ashley again and having a somewhat civil conversation with her... It doesn't matter that people believe Shepard now, of course. The reapers have arrived. This expression seems awfully mild for what you are watching, Shepard. Although, I guess I can understand feeling numb, watching your worst nightmare come true after spending years trying in vain to get people to pay attention. These people didn't get to live long enough to regret ignoring all the warnings, though. Shepard and Anderson, in the smoldering ruins of the conference room, places somewhat reversed. Thanks for the reminder of what's coming at the end of the game, BioWare. Here's Shepard trying to save --ok, I know he becomes Starbrat, but right now, he's just a little boy. The catalyst is a goddamn asshole for using a dead kid as his avatar. The catalyst is an asshole for a lot of other reasons, too. Why, oh why, couldn't we have Anderson as a squadmate? I know he outranks Shepard so it wouldn't make sense, but it's not as if that would be the only handwaved explanation in the entire game, right? As one of the few high-ranking officials in the galaxy with any goddamn brains, Anderson reinstates Shepard before sending her off to find allies. This part hit me in the feels the first time, and it did so again this time. Shepard watches from the Normandy as several shuttles pick up people to evacuate them. The boy climbs into one of the shuttles at the last minute and they lift off, only to be blown right out of the sky. Shepard forced herself away, knowing she had to follow Anderson's orders. Unfortunately, she had a mini revolt on her hands, as James did not want to leave Earth behind. I got so used to liking him that I actually forgot that he started the game a bit...difficult? At least Ashley was nicer than expected. She was skeptical, distrustful...but not cruel or disrespectful. The Normandy's first stop was Mars, to recover Prothean data from a dig site that had gone silent. There, Liara joined the crew, with a hello that was uncomfortably flirty. Liara, Shepard is with Garrus now. As the Shadow Broker, you should know this. Stop embarrassing yourself. Ashley thought this would be a good time to bring up Cerberus and her distrust for Shepard again. You have shit timing, Ashley. You can't save it for after the mission? I mean, if Shepard means you harm, then bringing it up now is hardly going to help you. Speaking of bad timing, TIM decided to show his ugly mug, too! I missed the charm dialogue option here, because I forgot to use the investigate one first before answering him. I can't remember how much leeway I get with TIM for that scene at the end of the game. I guess we'll see. With Liara, Ashley, and EDI's future mobile platform safely (or...very bruisedly) aboard the ship, Shepard heads off to the Citadel to talk to the dingbats running the place. If I had to live on a space station, I would want it to be this one. I like this screenshot. The three of them just look so...lost? Tired? "Ugh...what now?" Shepard's first stop was to visit Ashley at the hospital and see how she was doing. Even if Ashley still can't trust her, Shepard is not ready to give up on the friendship, and doesn't really think that Ashley wants to, either. On her way in, she was surprised to see Dr. Chakwas, and convinced her to return to service on the Normandy. Shepard meets Liara at the Council chambers and tries her best to convince them to help. To the surprise of absolutely no one, they refuse. But...the turian councilor comes to her later with a plan: get the krogan to help out on Palaven, and the turians would agree to help with Earth. It was something Shepard could work with, at least. I'm curious to see how differently this will go with Wrex in charge instead of Wreav. Shepard makes nice with two reporters. I'm looking forward to punching this woman, or something, when I someday play a renegade Shepard. Even though this dream features Starbrat, it still hit me just like it did the first time. Mostly because I feel bad for Shepard, and how this boy's death (more accurately, everything the boy's death represents) has tormented her. Since Shepard was up anyway, she decided that now would be a good time to make sure Liara understood that they were over. Liara looked sad. Maybe I will do her romance at some point, for real. There, there, Liara. More importantly, it was time to go get Garrus the Primarch. On the way to Palaven, James and Shepard had a sparring match and a good talk. Shepard received her nickname, Lola, which she decided he could get away with, for now, "because you're cute." I won't lie, I circled the turian camp a few times looking for Garrus, before I gave up and talked to one of the generals. I forgot that he shows up during the cutscene. This robot parakeet dropped some stuff on us that we had to fight off. EDI has great timing just like Ashley, so she decided to wait until Shepard was in the middle of a war zone to take over the captive mobile platform and cause all sorts of havoc on the ship. Ever the gracious host, Shepard went to the battery to check on her turian guest as soon as it was determined that EDI was not about to vent the Normandy's atmosphere and kill them all. Shepard assured Garrus that she still liked him, and gave him a kiss hello. Next time, Javik and Jack! Now, I'm curious. How many people actually looked at all those screenshots?

John Shepard:
- Found the Prothean beacon. It was glowing. While I called it in, Williams took a closer look. She didn't touch it or anything but when I glanced over it had her floating in the air. I leapt up and grabbed her, tossing her aside, but it stuck me in her place. Then there were these horrific visions before I passed out. - I woke up to see Williams standing over me. Not who I would have picked, nothing against her. Also, I'd been out for 15 hours and learned the beacon had exploded. Hell of an end to the mission: Jenkins dead, Nihlus dead and the beacon destroyed. And we had a major new enemy. - Got the rundown on Saren from Anderson. He hates humans so attacking a human colony is something he might do. Conclusion: Humanity is screwed if we don't take down Saren, who just so happens to be a Council Spectre.
[Gotta make this short. Need my sleep.]

Greetings! First post on this thread. I've been into the Dragon Age series since 2014 but bought the ME Trilogy last year to try something different. I finally started a serious PT of ME 1 several days ago and am enjoying it quite a bit despite the old school graphics. (Not sure why they made all the humans rather homely, however.)
Anyhow, I'm playing as a Paragon Fem-Shep Sentinel. Her background is as a war hero. I figured that would work best with Paragon. The colonist and Earther backgrounds seem more tied to a Renegade approach.
In the main plot, Jane went to Noveria and ultimately confronted Benezia. She decided to let the Rachni Queen go, convinced that the Queen would prevent the reborn Rachni from running amuck again. She also went to Virmire in search of Saren and found out about the plot to clone a Krogan army.
Gamer Note: I was annoyed there was no option to save the cure for the genophage. Shep can save the Rachni but not the Krogan? Fortunately, Jane's charm was high enough to keep Wrex in line. This turned out to be even more important when Jane was suddenly forced to choose between Ashley and Kaiden. (Given that Kaiden's powers mirrored those of a Sentinel more or less, I chose to save Ashley.)
After Virmire, I began to focus on the secondary missions. Jane just finished defeating the Geth in the Armstrong Cluster. The only secondary missions left are the collection missions - Prothean data disks, Asari matriarch writings etc. - and the ones on the training station.
Again, this is my first PT, so I do have a couple of questions:
(1) I believe I've scanned all the Keepers except for the one that's guarded by the VI terminal. How do you get past "Uvina'?
(2) Is there any way to buy Omni Gel direct? I hate destroying sell-able equipment just to make it.
(3) Are there any DLC to ME 1? If so, how do your purchase them?
That's it for now....beginning to nod off...

Well decided to make an adept for ME1. Pamela Shepard comes from a military family and made a name for herself as the hero of elysium. Right off the bat it is nice to have the power wheel back and it is great having tangible control of the squad.

It's 21 in all. 2) No. Trust me, you'll find plenty of worthless junk to destroy. You can only carry so much and plenty of things will end up being of so low value that it's just as well to convert it to omni-gel than to sell it. 3) Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station. Depending on where you bought the trilogy you may already have them. They aren't available for sale. It's possible to get Bring Down the Sky separately but not Pinnacle Station. Bring Down the Sky is referenced in a minor way in ME3 but Pinnacle Station doesn't add much of anything.

Now, I'm curious. How many people actually looked at all those screenshots? Raises hand. How did you get Garrus in civvies on the Normandy? Mod?

I just noticed them on the space map and visited them without getting any mission assignment. Does Pinnacle Station help you level up? I read in the Wikia that it's better to do Bring Down the Sky after level 50 to get the highest level gift. (Colossus armor?) I'm currently Level 40. Other than Pinnacle Station, the only quests left are main plot quests.

Yes, it's a mod on Nexus mods, kind of complicated to install, too. I broke the game two or three times trying to get it in. I still want to install a dress mod for Shepard for Citadel DLC, and I'm so worried I'm going to break my game again. I like posting screenshots regardless, but I'm really glad some people actually like looking at them, too. I always like seeing other people's shots.

Lol I always wondered if Garrus got uncomfortable wearing his armor all the time since he never had casual stuff for the normandy. It was most likely bioware didn't want to bother rendering him in anything but armor or just an oversight but I tell myself it's a turian cultural thing. When they are working they are in armor.
