Hah, sent before I was ready. So, another post from the Journal of Ioan Shepard:
- Menae: Comm towers are down so they to be repaired first. We got that done and returned. Turned it it was someone named Victus. Just then, Garrus arrived. Good to know my friend was alive. This general called him "sir" which meant he'd risen in the ranks. Garrus had been fighting alongside Victus earlier and was going to take us to his last known location. When we made our way to him, he was shocked to find out his new position. He agreed to leave for the summit, and understood my need for turian fleets, but said it could only happen if the pressure was taken off Palaven. He wanted krogan boots on Palaven fighting Reapers before going anywhere. - Normandy: The asari backed out of the summit because we asked for the krogan. She said the salarian dalatrass was angry about it. As if those were my terms. Yet, the salarians were showing up so it made no sense. EMS: 342. - EDI went offline. Traynor said to head to the AI core, which was right behind the med bay. Adams and another crew member were there with fire extinguishers. We went in. They put out the fire and the AI core came back online. Then, from out of the smoke, came Dr. Core - but speaking with EDI's voice. She had decided she could be more useful as a squadmate in addition to being the ship itself.

Feeling victorious this weekend, having finished my insanity achievements for both me 2 & 3. Huzzah! excellent. Will you play insanity again using a different class? Yes, but it will have to be infiltrator, for I am addicted to the sniper rifle Have you played all classes and if so which is the hardest at insanity?

You don't need to play Infiltrator in 2 or 3 to use a sniper rifle. My Engineer used them just fine. Garrus(mance) rubbed off on her a bit....

Not looking forward to acquiring the IFF again (on any class)

It surely felt that there were times where enemies could spit on me and probably do more damage

Not looking forward to acquiring the IFF again (on any class) On insanity, I would use the bonus power energy drain. If not, use Garrus and Miranda. Both have overload. If you do that, use slam as a bonus power to take care of the husks. When it comes to the scions use overload then use grenade launcher or the collector particle beam. For me, the IFF mission always gave me problems even on lower difficulties. I'm not a fan of those scions

It was highly effective at times but those husks....the scions I just kited and sniped at from afar. I reused an old character for this insanity run and half way through the blood, sweat and tantrums read somewhere that this was the harder way to do an insanity run in ME2. lol

It really is, because enemies scale to your level. That part is fine, however you don't have any damage or protection upgrades early on (they don't carry over) so you put yourself at a disadvantage by doing it that way.

Well I know now.....sometimes you have to learn the hard way (also about the Eng - will give that a go) thanks

One note: in ME2 you have to take sniper training on the Collector ship since you don't start out with it as an Engineer. With the Viper (Thane recruitment) and Locust (Kasumi loyalty) I managed to survive Insanity - did everything except Arrival, then lowered the difficulty since I hate Kenson so much I didn't want to spend any extra time with her.

Hey themikefest, I'm curious about what Lisa will say about Javik. She didn't helped him dig that grave in a asteroid, did she? I'm in Rannoch now, did the Dreadnought mission, was fired upon by the quarians, punched Garrel and I'm deciding if I save the admiral or go for the geth fighters. Legion died in the SM, had to listen all the BS Xen AND Tali spilled about the geth, while Legion v2.0 is actually helping me. Man, those quarians are surelly asking for it.

From the Journal of Ioan Shepard:
- Normandy: Email from Aria T'Loak. She's on the Citadel and wants to see me. Also, I'm to report to a Dr. Bryson on the Citadel. Thane is also on the Citadel, in Huerta! Well, he's my priority of those three. Kaidan's awake, so he shoots to #1. And Udina wants to make him a Spectre. Pondering if both of us being Spectres to help us throw out the regs around fraternization. I mean, what are they odds they'd court martial us anyway? Seems like it would be a losing proposition. I suppose they could go after Kaidan but would they really want me to be that unhappy? Anyway, a salarian Spectre also wants my help. I doubt he'd ask lightly given how things are at the moment so I'll meet with him. - Citadel: First up is Huerta Memorial. Settled a disagreement on whether or not Huerta was currently alive or not. Gave a medi-gel formula for hanar found on Sanctum to a doctor. Met with Thane. He's here so he can be near his son (who lives on the Citadel) at the end of his life. Nine months ago he was given three months to live so he has no expectations on how long he'll be around. Fortunately, his disease isn't painful. - Stopped by to see Kaidan. Gave him that Peruvian whiskey I'd bought at the Huerta terminal. Very expensive stuff, on the order of the Serrice Ice Brandy Dr. Chakwas loves. He's worth it, though. He still hasn't decided on whether or not to become a Spectre but Udina is pushing for an answer. We did clear the air a bit. I told him I still cared about him, and he said we were good together, but that doesn't make us together. - Bought some koi for my aquarium. Also found an Aquarium VI to feed them. Kelly Chambers isn't around anymore and I can't imagine Traynor doing that. She's way too busy - and far too good at her job - to ask anything like that from her. - EDI believes Joker is interested in her romantically. I'm both surprised and not. He's only ever cared about his ship - almost died with the SR1 because he wouldn't leave it - and EDI kind of is the ship, which a body attached. - Something interesting came up. Option to pardon Donnelly and Daniels, the Normandy engineers while with Cerberus. I knew from my time with them that they had no concept of what Cerberus was really like and they risked a lot returning to Council space because of that lack of understanding. If Chakwas and Joker were free and clear, these two should be as well. Adams could use their expertise. - Met with Jondum Bau, the Spectre who had contacted me. He suspects a hanar diplomat has been indoctrinated. Kasumi Goto was also somehow involved, despite Bau having been trying to arrest her for years. We investigated and figured out who it was. Definitely indoctrinated. Used a virus to disable the hanar homeworld's defenses. Kasumi stopped the virus while an indoctrinated human attacked Bau. I saved him but the system overloaded. To all appearances, Kasumi died and her cloak made her go invisible. Bau then said his Spectre unit would return the favor. Meanwhile, Kasumi wasn't dead and I convinced her to help hack the technology of the Crucible since no one really understood how it worked. - Found Kelly Chambers in the Holding Docks! She was another one who hadn't seen Cerberus for what it was. After I returned to Earth, she looked more closely at their activities and realized she couldn't stay with them. Tried to get her to come back to the Normandy but her experience being abducted by the Collectors made her want to stay away. I understood. Since I couldn't watch over her, I suggested she change her identity and her look. Cerberus was crazier than ever these days and you could never tell if they'd hunt a former member down. - Grissom Academy: This place housed the Ascension Project, a school for young biotics. I'd also sent David Archer here after he'd suffered torture under his brother's hands. Not by design but that was still the effect. In any case, Traynor had caught something sketchy about communications to Grissom and decided something wasn't right. I thought it best to investigate. It was Cerberus. Kahlee Sanders was in charge and was helping us get through. Saw Cerberus troopers dragging a student through the hall by the leg. An impenetrable window kept me from getting to them. Another boy was using an impressive biotic barrier to keep the troopers at bay. I took out his attackers and told him to play dead until it was safe to move. Also saved his sister, though she was slightly injured. Meanwhile, Cerberus was spouting bullshit propaganda over the speakers, at least until Sanders overrode them and told them help was coming. - When I made it to Orion Hall, I saw Jack there fighting off Cerberus troopers. She literally put herself in-between troopers and students. Clearly, she knew them and was willing to die for them. After taking out an Atlas mech for them I found out Jack was a teacher there. Who better than someone who wanted to make sure what had happened to her never happened to anyone else? Was finding all kinds of evidence that Cerberus planned to take these students and turn them into something else - maybe use the same process that was used on the troopers to make them loyal. The number of troops they had was incredible but made more sense if they were indoctrinated. Even the students were saying that it was weird how Cerberus knew all of their names. That pointed to an inside informant. - We split up: EDI, Garrus and I below with Jack and her students above. It kept them safer but still in the game. I did run across some students using an omni-tool to create a barrier. They didn't trust me even after I took out the Cerberus troopers threatening them. But someone else inside the barrier did. David Archer was there. He remembered EDI - her voice - and me. He remained grateful to be alive and gave me access to the room containing weapons. Stuff like this made my time with Cerberus worthwhile. What would have happened to him if I'd never investigated Overlord for TIM? - Approaching where the shuttle would be, I needed to distract Cerberus. Hijacked an Atlas and used it to take out the Cerberus troops that were flooding in. This gave the students time to flee to the shuttle. No casualties. EMS: 504.

In my game I already did Grissom Academy, my femShep is with Garrus in this tour. After a long time without playing ME3, I forgot her line in the conversation. Jack: Hey Garrus, good to see you, face still like shit, hun? Garrus: As charming as ever. Jack: Bite me Garrus! Better yet, bite her, I bet she like it! As for Cerberus purposes regarding the students, is funny the game gives you renegade points for telling the true. When the engineer message all studients saying if they surrender they will not be harmed, one of them asks if Cerberus is actually telling the true. Then Shepard tells what happens to people Cerberus promisses not to harm... and you are renegade because of that?

"Welcome back folks. The awsome Commander Shepard is our special guest giving commentary to ME3 while one of my helpers, Bugs Bunny, plays the game. Since tonights episode has started, there's been a lot of questions and inquiries as what happened to Miranda and Liara. Can you fill us in?' 'I can. After getting to Citadel, Hackett asked that Liara joins him to help decipher the plans. After I got the Primarch, I went back to the Citadel. Miranda was there. Since Cerberus was causing problems, I wanted her on the ship to help explain why they're doing what they're doing and to maybe find where they're located." "It seems, so far anyways, that what happens in the game is far different from what really happened. Don't take this the wrong way Lisa, but I like the game since it has a lot of shooting the bad guy. (The audience cheers)" "Haha. That's fine. I still did a lot of shooting. Nothing like in the game. In fact what's in the game I wouldn't have survived if that really did happen." "Here's another question from the audience. Do you dance as bad as your character in the game?" "Hahahahaha. No. Before I got married, Samantha and I took dancing lessons. Even today, we dance when we go out with friends to a club." "Here she is during her wedding reception. Not only can you shoot bad guys, but you got some nice dance moves. Would you like to show us some dance moves?(the audience cheers her on) "The next time I'm on your show, I will bring my wife. At that time I will show some dancing moves".(the crowds says aaah) "I know you and the others have shown up to comic-con all over the world many times. What's that like?" "Its wonderful. A few times I've sat with Jennifer Hale signing autographs. Its amazing to see people dressed up as the characters from the games. One of the best ones is a few years back, a couple were dressed up as giant Cision Pro Mach 4 toothbrushes." "Speaking of the toothbrush, I take it you and your family use it?" "Oh yes. We have a different colored toothbrush for each one of my daughters" "Lets take a short break and then continue with ME3"

From the Journal of Ioan Shepard:
- Normandy: Traynor suggested I check in on Cortez. This reminded me all too much of Kelly telling me that Grunt was fidgety or Samara was restless. He was listening to a recording of his last conversation with his husband, who had died when the Collectors abducted the colony. He's still grieving and needs some support. - Citadel: Went to see Kaidan. He's up and about, dressed in uniform. Bruises gone from his face. He accepted the Spectre position, making him the second human Spectre. That's a pretty big deal. I asked him to come back to the Normandy but he said he wanted to find his old spec ops squad from Biotics Division first. I could respect that.

"Welcome back. Thanks to the Looney Tune Band led by Foghorn Leghorn. And lets not forget, Daffy Duck, as the camera duck. Back with Commander Shepard. So you head back to the Citadel. Cerberus attacks the station. Talk us through it." "We arrive, Cerberus was gunning down everyone. There was one Cerberus guy. later known as Kai Leng. He was leading the attack. He tried to kill the salarian councilor, but was stopped by a drell named Thane. Af---" "Before you go any further, explain to our audience who Thane was." "He was on my team helping me defeat the collectors. He was on the Citadel visiting his son at the time of the attack. Unfortunately he died. After the war, the salarians unveiled a statue of him on Sur"Kesh in his honor for saving their councilor. Later I caught up with Ashley. She told me the other councilors were heading to a shuttle to leave the area. We caught up with them. At that point, Udina pulled a gun on me. It turns out he asked Cerberus to help gather forces to stop the reapers on Earth. I applauded him for wanting to help Earth, but he went about it the wrong way. The sad part is that before he could be taken into custody, he killed himself." "That is very different from what happened in the game. Obviously Ashley joined you back on the Normandy. Bugs Bunny has completed the From Ashes dlc. What was it like fighting with a Prothean?" "I cannot comment on that." "Very well. After the coup, the player learns the Crucible has enough power to destroy the reapers. No one knew how it would dispense that energy." "That's right." "In the game this is where you invite Sam up to your cabin and you both get romantic." "In the game yes. We were romantically involved with each other shortly after visiting Sur'Kesh." "Way to go Commander. You don't waste any time. (the audience laughs) I see you're blushing. Aside from your wife, is there any character you would romance?" "I don't know." "Are you sure? Ok. Here's another question. Have you beaten your wife at chess?" (the Commander laughs)"No. In all these years I have not. We've played numerous times. I've tried every tactic to win. No matter how pursuasive I was, she would still win." "Ok. I see its time for a commercial break. We'll be back"

No time for a proper play session this evening, but I was in the mood for CLAYMOARing some things, so I loaded an old save from my first playthrough and played some Armax Arena matches. All were versus Elite enemies with enhanced shields and damage boost: - versus Cerberus, Hardcore, on Wingman, with Garrus and Tali;
- versus Cerberus, Insanity, on Armax Classic, with Zaeed and Jack;
- versus Cerberus, Insanity, on Spin Zone, with Wrex and Grunt. (Wrex was a total pyjak in this match, he needed a few revives )
- versus Collectors, Insanity, on Blasteroid, with Jacob and Miranda. This one took two goes: got cornered on wave 3 by two Scions in the first match. Miranda was a good choice of squadmate here, I got a fair few biotic combos from her Reave and Shepard's Warp/Throw.
This Shepard is a Sentinel. I mapped Overload to the triangle button for use as a stagger and reload-cancel, and Warp and Throw to the left and right triggers for biotic explosions. In my current playthrough, I think I will do the Citadel DLC a bit earlier than usual just to unlock the Armax Arena sooner. I'll leave the party until just before Cronos Station though.

"Thane, a drell, was on a mission to assassinate Nassana Dantius. I actually knew her... ran into her in 2183, after I had stumbled upon her sister on one planet. She was a slaver and we had to put her down after she attacked us. When I went to tell Nassana, she was glad her sister was dead because she was bad for her good image. And that's telling you what kind of person she was. Not that her sister was any better." "You said 'was'. So Thane killed her?" "Yeah. We entered the Dantius Towers in Illium and fought her mercs on the way up. We didn't find Thane until we were in Nassana's office. We were just talking when he jumped down from the air ducts and killed her guards first, then Nassana. It was over very quick." "And then he joined you?" "Yes. At first, he was praying, but not for Nassana. For himself, for forgiveness for his deeds. He also told us right then that he's dying. Assassinating Nassana was supposed to be his last job, but when he heard I'm tackling the Collectors, he wanted to help the colonists. I didn't like how he was fine with assassinating people, no matter how much they deserved it. And that his beliefs being that mind and body are two separate things, the body just a tool for the assassinations... but I didn't turn away extra help for our mission. And the more I talked to him, the more I saw he wanted to atone." "That is something at least, right?" "Yeah, but our relationship did not go beyond professionalism because of this whole thing." "I see. Well, I'm not sure I could be friends with an assassin either." "After we had recruited Thane, I helped out Miranda. She needed help to keep her sister safe on Illium, and since we were there anyway we did just that. This whole thing was a bit complicated. Miranda had taken away her sister, Oriana, from their father when she was still just a baby. She had grown up in safety without him, in another family. Now her father wanted to take her back and Miranda wanted to prevent that." "Her father was so bad that she kidnapped her own sister?" "Later I met him. He was a prick. Both Miranda and Oriana were genetically engineered to perfection so he could create his 'genetic dynasty' by designing his daughters from his own DNA. He was definitely a prick, yeah. And that's not the only thing he did, but that's for later." "God. He sounds terrible." "Yes. So, we had to fight the mercs who tried to take Oriana. Eclipse again. A friend of Miranda was involved, one she had trusted. But he betrayed her and wanted to return Oriana to her father. Miranda shot him in the process and we took care of the rest of the mercs, then saw that Oriana is safe and with her family." "So a happy reunion then?" "No. Miranda didn't want to complicate things for Oriana and wanted to stay away from her. At least back then." "Ah, so they met again?" "Yeah, but it only happened much later. And that wasn't really happy either." "Oh, I see. And that means you'll tell me all about it at some point later." "That's right. Well, after all that we returned to the Normandy and set course for our next destination." "Can't wait to hear what you did next. I'll quickly grab a coffee though. Be right back." A few pics: No deaths this time, woohoo! I think now I can finally spec Tali into Area Energy Drain, thank the heavens! I have not yet decided which LM to tackle next. Perhaps I'll do Jacob's, or finally go to Tuchanka to buy some more upgrades with money I don't have

"We're back with Commander Shepard. This part is where you meet the quarians. What was that like? "It was tense. Some of what happened in the game really happened. One thing is I never went into the geth server. That is something Bioware added. I had a former squadmate.Tali, with me on the geth dreadnought. The ship needed to be destroyed. Once done, I learned one of their Admirals crashed on Rannoch. He was rescued. Found a base on Rannoch that the geth were very protective of. It had a reaper. I called in for an orbital strike. I was very far away when this happened. It finally was destroyed leaving the quarians to destroy the geth." "Lets take a look at the poll to see who the audience picked. Very close. 58% chose quarians vs 42% for the geth. If you would Bugs Bunny. What happened with Tali?" "She decided to stay on Rannoch to help her people." "You're back on the Citadel to talk with the councilor and run a few errands. You run into Zaeed." "Yes. I helped Zaeed with something. He was a good man. On Feb 1st 2191, he died of a heart attack. I was heartbroken. I took the twins and Samantha to London. The girls laid a wreath on his casket. Even though they met him once, they liked him. Thanks to Samantha, a statue was built in his honor and a park was named after him." "For those who may not know about Zaeed Massani, here's his picture. If you want to know more, you can find a link when you go to the website for this show. We'll be back."

You cheater! How can you not commment on the Prothean? And Shepard can dance? OH--MY--GOD! The clone survived, not the real Shepard! On the Purgatory dance floor, Shepard is shown able to dance. Now, I have JAM and Anderson Extended Final Conversation mods installed, but I doubt they did anything about dancing. For whatever reason, that's the only placed Shepard can dance well. Must have been the right music and possibly also gone in line with Joker's take on things: hands in the air when you just can't be bothered to care about what anyone thinks because the world is ending.

From the Journal of Ioan Shepard:
- Citadel: Blood Pack recruited to fight the Reapers. All it took was pretending that my head was going to be a "hood ornament" for some vorcha's shuttle and then shooting him in the head. His replacement agreed to work for Aria and be directed as she saw fit - which is for me. Tried to get Eclipse on my side but seemed like it was going to mean the release of a psychopath named Jona Sederis. Instead, I arranged for her second-in-command to take over and he was much more agreeable. - Met up with Miranda. She said Oriana was missing and thought her father was behind it. She was also on the run from Cerberus. Still, she didn't want my help right now, didn't think I had the time. (Don't, really, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't help anyway.) - Summit Meeting: Things were not going well between the dalatrass and Wrex. She threw insults and said curing the genophage - what Wrex demanded in exchange for helping the turians - was off the table. Wrex had a plan, though, since it seemed like there was no cure in sight. He said that krogan females had survived Maelon's genophage cure trials and had been taken by the salarians to Sur'Kesh. Still, the dalatrass was trying to see what use it would be to her when Victus made it clear: any alliance with the turians would be over forever. She had the nerve to call me a bully, saying such people have few friends when needed most - not realizing she's the one who was the actual bully. As a Spectre, I could oversee the exchange and we went to do just that.

'During the break, we've received a lot of questions about why you're not commenting on a few things. Is it because you don't want to? Or is it...can you answer that?" "About 2 months before I got married, I met with the council, including the new human councilor Dominic Osaba, Primarch Victus, Salarian dalatross and a few representatives from the Alliance. They wanted to go over what happened. They told me they would deal with any problems that may arise and asked that I would say nothing about certain events. I agreed." "Fair enough. You head to Thessia. What happened?" "We arrive to see the reapers were in full force. For this mission, Liara joined us since she could provide an insight to whatever we would find. I can't say more than that." "I read on forums, after ME3 was released, that this mission was the turning point in the game." "For me, its hard to say what the turning point was. I think it was just after Thessia where we learned the crucible and Citadel together would be able to destroy the reapers. We just had to get the crucible completed." "Nothing like what happened in the game. Here you're at Sanctuary.." "This is a mission that will never be forgotten. There were experiments going on that I have a hard time believing. Very gruesome. I also found information that would lead us to Cerberus headquarters. They had to be stopped." "And you did. What's your thoughts about Bioware adding war assets to ME3?" "I like the idea, but not the way it was executed. To me it didn't make sense that a fleet is worth 100, but the player doesn't get the full 100 unless they raise their readiness." "A lot of people, including myself, agree. A question before the break. This is from twitter. How would you react if one of your daughters wanted to join the military?" "Proud. My daughter, Karin, who recently turned 17, wants to be a pilot. She likes hearing the stories that Jeff Moreau tells her about his time flying the Normandy." "Good luck to your daughter. We will talk more about the Normandy after finishing our playthrough. Let's take a break."
