My rundown of the Mages.
Sorceresses live about five times as long as non magic users, and so their bodies age about five times slower.
So a one hundred year old sorceress can have the body of a twenty year old, without the use of artificial enhancements.
In spite of this, many use artificial enhancement.
Some time in the past, judging from Philippa's body, I'm guessing at least 250 years ago, a Sorcerer known as Grandmaster Ortolan discovered some properties in Mandrake Root which could stop the body from aging. The face still aged a little, but a sorceress using mandrake root from the age of 100, could keep the body of a 20 year old for life.
Though few admitted to using it, mandrake root became more valuable than gold.
A side effect of mandrake root usage was a heightened sexual appetite and many sorceress' became nymphomaniacs.
While I wouldn't consider Yennefer a nympho, of the 100 or so lovers she took while she was with Geralt, many of them would have been one night stands to satisfy her sex drive. Like the young man at Belentyne.
The rest were men she would use to achieve her goals.
Just like Geralt, she would sleep with him when she wanted him to do something for her and then dump him.
On occasion if she fancied someone who wasn't interested in her she would cast a charm on them and screw them and then dump them.
The Elf Chireadan, who had tried to warn Geralt about Yennefer before he first met her was one such case.
Chireadan never liked Yennefer, so she charmed him to have sex with him, and the charm spell never wore off.
He was now in love with her, and though he knew it was magically instigated and hated her for it, he still couldn't stop dreaming of her.
By the time of the Thanedd Ilse coup, Yennefer had never loved Geralt, or anyone else.
She had made love to Geralt at night, and as soon as he fell asleep, she slid out from under him, quickly got dressed and went down the road to get into bed with another man.
You can't tell me she would do that if she loved him.
You can't tell me she loved either Geralt or Istredd when she pitted them against each other, with no way of knowing who would win a fight to the death. (Istredd was a powerful sorcerer.)
Yes, she did end up in love with him, and by the time of their deaths in Rivia, Geralt meant more to Yen than life itself.
But by Thanedd Ilse he was just a possession, that she didn't want anyone else to play with.
The power of the mages.
Tissaia de Vries
Headmistress of Aretuza
She was the only living Archmage, and was far above anyone else in magical ability.
Vilgefortz had tried to hide things from her with magical masking spells.
She didn't even need to dispel them, she could see through them as if they weren't there.
Just as easy as Philippa Eilhart could see through Triss' spell on Geralt that had fooled the other sorceress'.
She had an obsessive compulsive disorder, where by everything had to be neat, even, and match

The next level down:
Vilgefortz of Roggeveen, Kovir:
He became a sorcerer later in life after growing up with Druids.
He was tall, very good looking, intelligent, and very charismatic.
Commander of all the Northern mages in the Battle of Sodden Hill.
Misogynist who wanted to put women in their place.
Member of the Chapter of Mages.
Philippa Eilhart of Tretogor, Advisor of King Vizimir of Redainia.
Who Tissaia described as the most talented Sorceress ever to come out of Aretuza.
Was Dijkstra's lover for a long time, and in spite of what others claimed, she did love him.
But her preferences changed and she became a nymphomaniac lesbian.
Sometimes sleeping with female heads of state, or nobleman's wives to gain influence, but mostly just young women for sex.
Nilfgaard exploited her well known weakness, and put a spy in her bed.
Member of the Supreme Council of Mages, and later the founding member of The Lodge of Sorceresses
Voted to let Ciri return to Geralt.
Francesca Findabair Daisy of the Valley:
Was probably very close to these two. No one had seen her in all out battle, but she had done enough for people to think she was on that level.
The speed with which she dealt with Yennefer would seem to suggest it too.
I'm not sure if she wasn't that bright and just wanted to be Queen, or if she knew she was being had by Nilfgaard, and just thought doing something was better than doing nothing and waiting for the elves to die out.
But her actions would have dire consequences for the elves.
Member of the Chapter of Mages, and a member of The Lodge of Sorceresses
Voted against Ciri.
Next level down:
The ease with which Vilgefortz could just brush Yennefer aside, shows there is quite a gap between these levels.
Yennefer of Vengerberg, Part time advisor to King Demavend of Aedirn
Member of the Supreme Council of Mages, Was taken to the first, in the flesh meeting of the Lodge of Sorceresses by Francesca Findabair, but never actually became a member.
Later tried to claim she was a member to get a vote for Ciri, but the sorceress' wouldn't have a bar of it.
Triss Merigold of Maribor, Later advisor to King Foltest of Temeria.
Prior to her near death experience at Sodded Hill, Triss had no interest in politics, she liked everyone and everyone liked her (probably because she wasn't seen as a threat) She was known for her beautiful hair (long chestnut brown in the books), and for always smiling and laughing.
Although she had dabbled with both sexes when she was younger, she couldn't see the attraction to it, until she met Geralt.
So her slim waisted body was probably natural.
Yennefer and Triss were each others best friend. She valued that friendship above her feelings for Geralt.
Though just prior to Geralt's death they had a cat fight that showed Triss wasn't prepared to stand aside anymore.
She initially put the Lodge of Sorceress' ahead of her feelings for Geralt, but by the start of witcher 2, she had all but left the Lodge.
A skilled Healer, but also very powerful with Fire and Ice.
A member of The Lodge of Sorceresses
Voted to let Ciri return to Geralt.
Keira Metz of Carreras, Advisor to King Foltest of Temeria
Specialized in Illusion magic, but was still a powerful battlemage.
Widely considered to be a nymphomaniac
A good friend of Triss' and didn't mind Yennefer.
A member of The Lodge of Sorceresses
Voted to let Ciri return to Geralt.
Sabrina Glevissig of Ard Carraigh, Advisor to King Henselt of Kaedwen
A very powerful battlemage, singlehandedly won the first battle of Vergen with one spell.
Very hot headed. Hated Yennefer with a passion.
Many considered her a Nymphomaniac, but I'd put her on par with Yennefer. She wasn't constantly at it like Philippa.
I got the feeling from her seemingly over reaction to the sight of Lydia van Bredevoort's face, that she herself might be using an illusion to hide a deformity, and didn't like to be reminded of how it would be dispelled on death.
Geralt could have sex with her at Kaer Morhen in Witcher 1 "The Price of Neutrality"
A member of The Lodge of Sorceresses
Voted against Ciri. But she liked her, and voted on the grounds that it was too dangerous for her to be in Rivia. (which it proved to be)
Sheala de Tancarville of Creyden, Confidant of Queen Zuleyka of Kovir (Esterad Thyssen's wife)
Not into politics at the time of the coup.
Was more interested in research to the point she gave up her seat on the Council of Mages.
But was very driven after the coup and joined the Lodge of Sorceresses.
Sheala and Triss didn't like each other by Witcher 2.
Voted against Ciri
Dethmold of Ban Ard, Later advisor to King Henselt of Kaedwen
His brother Drithelm was killed during the coup.
Radcliffe of Oxenfurt, Advisor to King Demavend of Aedirn
Was thought to have died during the coup, but didn't.
Member of the Chapter of Mages.
Assire var Anahid of Vicovaro, Advisor to Emperor Emhyr var Emreis of Nilfgaard.
Although mages were highly paid in the south, they only had the social status of a common foot soldier.
The spy Carthia van Canten, also known as "Cantarella" or "Sasha", worked for Assire var Anahid.
She would cringe and turn her head if she saw Philippa through the megascope in a skimpy nighty with lipstick smudged on her tits.
A member of The Lodge of Sorceresses
Voted against Ciri.
A little below this group:
Fringilla Vigo
Originally from Vicovaro but later Toussaint.
Second cousin to Duchess Anna Henrietta of Toussaint.
Had a 2 month relationship with Geralt, the details of which she like to rub in Triss' face.
Yennefer can't stand her either, firstly because Fringilla blinded her in the battle of Sodden Hill, after Yen had disintegrated her best friend. Second because Yennefer had seen an image of her having sex with Geralt while Yen was in a trance. Knowing he is fooling around is one thing, but to see and hear Fringilla with her knees on her shoulders is something else.
Fringilla no longer likes Geralt because he made a fool of her in front of the Lodge of Sorceress',
and he called her Yen a couple of times in the throes of passion.
Surprisingly it was Fringilla who helped Yennefer escape the Lodge of Sorceresses.
And she gave Geralt an amulet which saved his life against Vilgefortz.
She is the youngest member of the Lodge of Sorceresses. (Although they keep an empty seat for Ciri.)
Pretty sure she voted against Ciri.
Triss explaining how they could have thought she was dead.
