I agree, her and Miranda's outfits didn't seem like they were pro-women, as much as over the top sex appeal. When ash mentioned how she didn't bound around the battlefield in a bikini, I had to agree with her logic. Miranda might be useful, powerful, and interesting. But walking around in a skin tight suit, didn't make me view her in a sympathetic light. It actually made me respect her a bit less. Then having EDI take up that sex appeal role so obviously felt like more of a cheap ploy to get more people to buy the game. All that said, the banter between her and joker at the party, or on the citadel was awesome. And the one time I had her in my party, and she got jammed, was very interesting too. And yet, they made Ash do the same as Miranda in ME3 Thank goodness she had actual armor too! On topic: I loved EDI because of her interactions with joker since the beginning of ME2 when they are arguing on the new Normandy about everything. Plus it helps that I like her VA from Battlestar Galactica as well. haha Off topic: I was just finishing up ME2 yesterday and noticed something with Miranda. She got shot and basically walked it off as though nothing had happened. This was a cut scene during the suicide mission. Is it possible Miranda is actually tougher than normal, like maybe her skin is exceptionally hard to pierce? If so, that could explain her choice of outfits. Mind you, Jacob's is just as bad and I don't see lots of complaints with him on that front. [Note: any follow up probably ought to go to Miranda's own thread.] On topic: Also loved the interactions between EDI and Joker. We actually saw the evolution of their relationship from the start. The jokes EDI made after being unshackled when she sent Joker through the crawlspaces - it's clear that she not only understood all of Joker's complaints but that she could tease him about them. And Joker got to like her for it, especially when he was able to trust her with flying when he had to leave the cockpit. I could see why Joker would be interested in her in ME3. She had a genuine fondness for him and without her it's pretty unlikely the Normandy would ever have got off Earth without EDI's help when the Reapers attacked.

I love EDI's sense of humor, especially when she teases people about their anxiety towards synthetics. Though the first one ("I enjoy the sight of humans on their knees") was pretty bad timing, i.e. in the middle of the Collector attack on the Normandy. But in ME3 she had some great ones on the flight deck: Pretending that her new duties were distracting her from maintaining the Normandy's air supply Shepard asks her what she's thinking about and she responds by talking about the "holographic theory of reality" EDI: "And just like that, the magic is gone." Shepard: "Did you just say what I think you just said?" EDI: "No." EDI: "Organics do not perceive this body as a threat...nor will they, until my day of reckoning." Shepard: "EDI..." EDI: "Did I say that out loud?" Legion: "You did. You have acquired the organic characteristic of asking a question to which you already know the answer." EDI: "You evidently need your humor heuristics adjusted." Fun side note: the 5th MP DLC, which included a playable AIU character, was titled Reckoning.

[Note: any follow up probably ought to go to Miranda's own thread.] I've always assumed that half the ME2 cast just have exceptionally strong shields to make up for the fact that they either (a) aren't wearing armor at all (Miranda, Kasumi, Jack, Thane) or ( are wearing armor that still leaves quite a bit of skin exposed (Samara). It's goofy but I can't think of any other real reason for it. Though I usually switch on Miranda's DLC armor when I take her on a mission.

Sooooooooooo...
Anyone got any pet theories on how EDI and Joker's "physical relationship" would work?

Sooo, am I the only one who can't stand EDI in ME3? I just can't help it, they ruined her with sexbot thing.

If you take it that physical appearance is all that matters, then I can see why you wouldn't like her. As EDI herself says during the conversation between Donnelly and Daniels: (paraphrased) "Are we not more than our bodies?" So, if you only see a sexbot, you'll be greatly disappointed. If, instead, you see the same intelligent, humourous AI that partly exists in a convenient robot body, you may view her differently. As a gay dude, I don't find her offensive in the least. Now, if you wanted to argue there was no need to put EDI in a body, since she was interesting enough as the ship, that's something different. Besides, her being a "sexbot" is no different than the way Miranda was designed - along with the closeups of her butt.

As of now I favor EDI over SAM. I kind of like them both. I see both as likely to come about in real life. (That is, sentient robots and AI implants.) EDI is more fun, though, and is genuinely interested in the welfare of others with whom she is not implanted.

EDI is more fun, though, and is genuinely interested in the welfare of others with whom she is not implanted. Overall, I did not mind SAM as a character since it proven itself very useful on many occasions (some would say too useful, but for understandable reasons) and also a formidable ally to have in Andromeda for me to despise it. It may not be EDI in terms of personality, however it is clear that the writers did not want a copy paste of the previous A.I.'s characteristics on SAM which is welcome.

Haha...i loved EDI in ME3....yeah she was the sexbot, but sheeit...they did a fine job with that design!... ...but even outside of that, she's a good companion to have because she will always break things down in logical manner when asked about scenarios while out in the field and she will always ask Shepard questions about humans and emotions, all while being funny and struggling to understand human concepts...she really is more than a sexbot...I always took her and Garrus out on missions...the rest of the squad was kinda weak....I took James out ONCE and that was it lol. Loved EDI's character tho...it developed pretty well over the course of the game...
