The thread’s aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!

I had a dream about a companion in DA4 who was an older mage lady. When I say older I mean like late forties, not like 60s. But anyway, in the dream she was a really powerful mage but she came from a politically irrelevant family. So her parents married her off to a powerful noble's scion who which the family agreed to because the son was weaksauce magically speaking. They've been married for decades and have a couple of kids on which the husband dotes BUT the husband is vibratingly insecure about his comparative magical impotence in comparison to his wife, this has resulted in her being functionally banned from doing magical type stuff for the majority of their marriage. Instead she's become a magical researcher/academic (if academia is really a thing in Thedas) the expertise of which puts her in contact with the protag.

That's the rational part of the dream anyway, the irrational part is that she killed her husband after she noticed he had the brand of the Absolute and had been infected by an Illithid tadpole lol. Crossover!

And whenever my brain offers one of these characters where stereotypical gender roles play a substantial role in their formation I like to flip it around to see whether something more interesting falls out and kinda? Usually the perspectival shift helps offer motivations for whichever version you wind up going for anyway.

Alright, who do we think these guys are?

I am going with the following;
1) The Praetorian Guard: Secret service agents of the Archon
2) Ancient Elves in combat gear.
3) Executors
4) Fog warriors of Seheron

Man, the developers are putting out all the stops are they? 

My 1st thought was Elvhen Sentinels,especially with the gold armor plating with intricate designs on it.

Although I am more curious about what they are fighting against. Only thing I see is what looks like the red lyrium vines attacking them.
