I was more bothered by the fact that she says, "If you've got something else going, I don't care. I can be discrete."

Flirting with someone is one thing. Yeah, people express interest and might have to be turned down (in a nice way!!) But having her proposition you for sex was just too much. I did not like it AT ALL. No, I don't care that it plays into her history.

Actually, now that I think of it, I think that last bit is more meant to show Halward's viewpoint than anything else, so it's required that it be a male PC who flirts.

Halward is of the view that Dorian is hedonistic and cares for nothing else. So his response to the Inquisitor coming out is to say, "I should have known," because he makes the offensive assumption that the only reason Dorian joined the Inquisition and is remaining in the South is because he has something going with the Inquisitor, rather than it being "the right thing to do." This is all old news to Dorian, but he is in turn pissed on the Inquisitor's behalf because the remark is disparaging to him as well.


But my point still stands that there should be a means of support outside of that.

^ As I recall, the only other follower who makes any comment at all is Cassandra, who relates because of her own uncle. I think they have a bit of a bonding moment over this. And then there is the whole series with Cole, but that's different.

BansheeOwnage, I keep watching your avatar doing that head bob thing. It's mesmerizing. No wonder Suvi falls for her.

Fenris was my guy for DA2. I was into him in a big way. David Gaider characters are my kryptonite, basically. I'm not into romancing Alistair or Zevran, for various reasons, but I adore Shale to pieces and I really enjoyed having Cassandra as a close friend in DAI. I feel the closest to her as my Inquisitor's friend than any other follower (except, uh, that other guy). I'm curious to know how much of the character changed from how Jennifer Hepler originally conceived her, or if DG just did his own thing.

Possibly. Bioware is suddenly answering questions about it with soon so I can see an announcement this week and a release the next or something like that. 

yeah. Origins was big with the Ninja mance, as was Mass Effect 1 apparently, but I knew going in so I used info on BSN to shut down racist and blue.

I think she doesn't do it if you've locked in the romance. Because Gil has such spare content, I ended up waiting a really long time for a lot of his scenes.

I agree completely! Here's what I wrote about it another thread recently (Gil started the discussion this time):

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's posted about how annoying that is! Ugh! Both options sound like an outsider looking in rather than someone who could relate to Gil (and both kind of suck in general, which makes it even worse).

Why is the only way for our characters to show their orientation to do a romance? Other characters show it all the time, just not the PC. And moments like these are a natural way for it to be brought up. We had the same problem in DA:I with Dorian's conversation about his situation, and no way to relate to him as a gay woman. It makes it hard to do the convo, because it seems like such an obvious thing to bring up. You could even have different responses to describe your family's stance, like earlier when talking to Josephine.

For example "I'm sorry Dorian, my parents put my happiness over political alliances. I wish yours did too" or "That probably would have happened to me too if I didn't have four older siblings" (I'm not a writer, just spit-balling general sentiments).

But nope, can't have things like that. Your character is Straight Until Proven Otherwise™, and the only way to prove otherwise is do a romance (which I didn't do with my canon in DA:I).

Funnily enough, when writing that I was actually remembering a similar conversation about that issue on the old BSN, and I'm pretty sure it was with you The word "solidarity" was used. Solidarity would have been nice, indeed. Oh, and I was referring to Dorian's conversation back at Skyhold after his quest more than in the tavern itself.

I wasn't thrilled about that either. Mostly on a meta-level for constantly pushing asari onto us (sometimes literally now), but also because of our lack of response options to her proposal.

And it's sad, because I thought of the perfect solution: You know how she won't proposition you if you're locked into a romance? Well, just make it so she only propositions you if you've actually flirted with her at least once. It would be such an easy way for gay guys and straight women, or people just not interested in her, to not have to groan at that scene every playthrough.

Plus, I think it would help the issue of it coming out of nowhere. I wasn't even overly friendly to her in my playthrough, so it came across as some combination of "I need to get laid, and you have a body, you'll do", and "You're interesting because protagonist", both of which are pretty

And I agree, encouraging you to cheat definitely crossed the line. It's not just a jerk-move, but kind of inconsistent, too, because apparently she doesn't proposition you if you are locked-in

As for the patch, Deluxe Edition owners are apparently getting another outfit sometime in May (perfect for your romance ambitions, whatever that means ), which would logically need to be patched in. Presumably they'll bundle that with a patch. I'm aching for a patch... it's been long enough and there are lots of important fixes and improvements that we need! Vague character creator and m/m improvements, and hopefully a fix for Ryder being invisible during movie night, just to name a few

Aww, haha, that's a good way to describe it. Glad I'm not the only one who sometimes ends up doing that Oh yeah, Suvi is a lucky girl. Sara, too.

I often listen to music while posting, and the bobbing would occasionally sync up to its beat, so I made this version as well. Not as mesmerizing, but amusing.

I feel like I finally got there with Suvi. I was pretty close with Cullen, but him being a guy was still a bit of a barrier for me (more power to you if that kind of thing isn't). I've tried other f/f romances, but they didn't quite do it. Suvi's great in every way (except lack of content), though, and I find her more relatable than Cullen.

I hope you get someone you like that much ASAP!

Yes, I believe locking in before that scene is the only way for her not to proposition you. Edit:

It's unfortunate, though, because some romances lock-in earlier than others. Next playthrough I'll probably just hold off triggering that scene until I lock-in, but if I romance Suvi again that'll mean I'll have to go through a huge chunk of the game ignoring Peebee and her quests (for some reason Suvi locks-in at least one priority mission after everyone else I know of - after the Archon's flagship). Not ideal.
