I really had bad day (my beloved dog is sick badly and other things), I watched some ''straight propaganda'' that being gay is a choice... !@?!@! (sorry) I'm sorry for your dog mine have gone throught surgery last year, and still have some problems (being more than ten years old doesn't help either) but he is still here being all cuddly and barking as the grumpy old dog he is. And surely having all that expernall pressure doesn't help. hugs! Thank you! Mine is 12 years old, and he also had surgery, and the doctor says we need to wait week or two to things get better, but it's difficult in his age to fully recover But I refuse to lost hope.

@ carloangelo, Salty Drell, thank you guys, I hope so too. Sorry everyone for being too dramatic. Don't be sorry. I'm just sorry that whatever advice we can dish out, it might not work and would ring hollow, because we don't know what it's like where you live. All I can really say is just hold on until you get your big break out of hell sooner rather than later. There are online support communities here, at least.

Because I hadn't actually heard of most of these titles before, I decided to google them, and me being the binge personality that I am, I just read through all of Check, Please! in one sitting. It was very enjoyable. I'll definitely be checking out the others when I have more time. So, thank you for mentioning them. My pleasure. The thing with Check, Please!, is that although it's free to read online, the series does have two books in print (Bitty's freshman and sophomore years). BUT, they are difficult to come by, and those I've spoken to who are fans of the series, but missed out on the Kickstarter campaigns are disappointed that they got to wait for a certain time to possess them. But thank God for crowdfunding, am I right? Also, I have quite a list of recommendations, which I probably should compile somewhere...You should! I would be interested in serious, adult fiction, rather than fluff, or romance, or things like that. (Not adult as in sex, just adults being adulty.) I'm also happy to share with the thread that I helped someone avoid buying a "Josh Lanyon" novel. This is a women who uses a male pseudonym to write m/m romance novels. My person likes (serious) crime fiction and happened across one of the novels concerning a murder mystery while browsing Amazon. After learning that the author writes a bunch of m/m fiction, I suggested that we try to find a website or something to see if it was actually a man, but alas it was not. After we learned this, they were put off by the idea (of a woman using a male pseudonym to publish gay fiction) and decided not to purchase. Thanks, thread! Since I know you saw my previous post over in that other magical forum, this is the same person who read the Benjamin Justice novels; serious crime fiction with a gay male protagonist, written by a gay author. On seeing the huge volume "Josh Lanyon" has produced, the person told me that it was typical of romance authors: they churn out tons of work, sometimes with little variation in stories and themes. One thing that was rather annoying is the FAQ on "Josh Lanyon's" website. Here are two of the questions: She is so full of shit. Just say you think it's hot and move on. I bet women who are writing hetero romance fiction don't have a problem admitting that. You're churning out volumes of fluffy beach reading, not high-minded literature.

Dogs are more resourceful than they usually seem. Don't give up hope until you can! I had to put down the dog I had before the one I have (he had bone cancer, and too old to try a cure) but he had survived many things before, some that should have killed him. Having a veterinarian who would operate a dog at three in the morning because the dog cut his side while chasing a fox helped (I don't know if after the surgery was more grumpy the dog because of the anesthesia or the veterinarian because he was still in pajama. Poor man.)

or pick up a book on fishing, its not that hard Why pick up a book on fishing? In the hopes that the book on fishing knows what it's talking about? That it was perhaps written by someone who has actually gone fishing? What if that author has also never gone fishing but just read another book on fishing and so on ad infinitum? What if ALL the books on fishing can be traced back to ONE original book on fishing that all the other authors have read? Why not just have the original book? What is the point of all the new books on fishing if they have nothing new to add in terms of actual knowledge? So the guy who's writing the game should probably try to GO fishing if possible instead of just reading about it. It's the difference between PRIMARY and SECONDARY sources of information. Even the law in most countries differentiates between PRIMARY sources of evidence and SECONDARY sources. One is considered more reliable than the other to some degree. do i even need to list the problems with what you wrote? Or can we hold them to be self evident?

There's quite a bit I could say speculating why they did what they did... but I gotta get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow, so, perhaps another time. You're right, if not for the ethernet and you great people here I would be lost long time ago. I hope it will get better with time, the same goes for Andromeda Even if Andromeda falls through, there's always gonna be something better to look forward to. Fingers crossed that the laws of equivalent exchange work this time- lackluster lgbt (particularly gay male) content in this one for more prominent and well written representation in the next.

But it's ok for characters like Kelly and Pelessaria to ask for your d or v with no precursor whatsoever. I've been on BioWare forums for over four years, and in that time I've never once seen anyone complain about being ninjamanced by a gay person, when people complain about ninjamancing its inevitably about Liara. Or are you referring to the infamous Anders flirt?

(sorry) They don't know sh*t, if I could I would be straight or bi, it would make my life so much easier in my homophobic country and family It's like saying that being straight is a choice, so maybe straight people should try to ''change sides''? They can't? So only gay people can ''switch sides''??! See how stupid it sounds? So yeah, LGBT situation in Andromeda did not help me to feel less unwanted I'm so sorry you have to endure that with your family and where you live, sending you my best wishes. I hope your dog gets better as well, dogs are true friends and I bet he is a great support for you.

I would welcome seeing flirts from any character (the more the merrier), my only minor concern about the Anders flirt was that he got angry at being turned down. If he had been chilled about it, that would have been perfectly fine.

IMO the fault lies in writing Hawke's response in that way. (It happens during this quest to talk to Anders. Unfortunately, I can't find a video of it.)

BioWare seems to have been scared away from 'NPC instigated flirting' since, which is a shame.

I always thought it was dumb that there isn't a male flirt for Blackwall. Or Solas, for that matter. Vivienne has one, but I don't know if that is also present for women (I don't even know what she says). Annoyingly, the flirt option for Vivienne never disappears, even after having selected it. She goes the entire game, for male and female PC, with the flirt option active. I believe her response changed depending on her approval, so at first she sneers at the idea and later she is flattered but not at all interested. I really don't know why they felt the need to keep the flirt option open for her. If a woman says no, we don't need the option to stick around and see if she changes her mind later. I would love in a future game for the PC to flirt with a crew member; the crew member bluntly states that they are uncomfortable having a superior officer flirting with them and politely but clearly telling them to stop flirting. We keep the flirt option active. We can try and flirt two more times with that person. The second time, they tell you to stop and if you don't they will take action, no matter how precious a pathfinder is. Third time, the person either files a sexual harassment suit and the PC is relieved of command, or the person gives a swift chop to the delicates, resulting in a non standard game over since the pathfinder can't path find anything without their naughty bits. I also hope MEA2 has all human women with Cora's haircut. They will say that after so many people went crazy in cryo, they found that some men became intellectually diminished and more bestial and would fly into petty rages if they didn't see women with historically feminine appearance. So by cutting their hair to not conform with 21st century standards of beauty, which were already very outdated by the time the AI launched, they can weed out all of the genetically inferior men who complain about their hair and send them to live with the exiles.

Both Players and characters shutting down romances, for whatever reason, should be honest and amicable. However, not allowing the player to initially try and flirt is meta gaming, takes away control of their character, and is all around immersion breaking for the entire game world. Your character, or the player if they are actually able to start blind, are not mind readers. Giving the PC "gaydar" is just lazy and ridiculous. i feel obligated to point out: morrigan, alistair, blackwall, solas, miranda, tali, jack, jacob, garrus, thane, jaal, probably a few i'm forgetting... these are all characters that gay players can't flirt with. they're straight, we're supposed to know they're straight, therefore not for us and that's it. we can't force our icky gay attentions on them. so while you think giving the PC a gaydar is ridiculous, bioware PCs have apparently had heterometres built in from the beginning.
