Wow! I had a busy day at work and came back to THIS! You all have been BUSY!  So here's my thoughts: With regard to what my friend knows:
She only saw THREE of the romances. There is a TON of information that she hasn't seen. So let's not assume that this is extent of what will happen. My gut is that it's representative of what will happen elsewhere.
Basically, just because one of the m/m scenes didn't show any nudity doesn't mean that NONE of them will. But, given what's been seen, I think it's likely that the m/m scenes might be a bit tamer. Not a guarantee, though. And I CERTAINLY wouldn't go tweeting devs about it. But that's just me.
I think it's safe to say that there will be the same types of nudity as in DA: I (bare breasts and male and female bare butts). Not sure which scenes will have what outside of what I shared. I did find it a little strange that there was male nudity in a straight male PC romance scene and none in the gay male PC romance scene, but again, it's just a really small sample. Who knows if that will hold up when the others are shown? Basically, I think it's totally reasonable to lower expectations, but I'm not sure if it's "tweet a dev and ask them to clarify" worthy. But that's just me. lukensen87 : Your comment about Jaal Were you providing additional leaked information stating that someone you know indicated that Jaal is bisexual and that his scene with Scott ALSO contained no nudity, or were you speculating this? It was unclear to me based on how you wrote that. |

I let the devs know that this discussion was happening, but their request is to keep it all spoiler tagged and, once the spoiler subforum is created, this discussion will get moved there. Folks, I don't mean to be rude, but I think everyone is forgetting a couple of important things, when it comes to nudity. In terms of rating and classification, it is a lot easier to get away with breast and butt nudity than showing penis. I don't think effort or inclusivity has everything to do with why there may not be any hard dicking action. We're not talking about breasts versus penis We're talking female butts versus male butts. No nudity in m/m scenes means that there's no butts I'm referring to the people ragging on Bioware, based on a rumor, that the romances aren't equal or that there wasn't effort on the sole rumored fact that the gay scene does not reportedly contain bare butt. I find such histrionics near validation to Bioware's reasoning to shut down their forums. In short; it's silly. |

So... seeing butts would make the scene more valid, then? Look, I'm for nudity and sex in games. The shower scene with Traynor was stupid, the DAO scenes with full undies were stupid, but without knowing how the whoopee goes down, saying that lack of nudity is indicative of lack of support or care from Bioware is tantamount to histronics, to me. If the scene SHOULD have nudity based on context, fair. But if not, then not having it doesn't mean that Bioware is being neglectful. It's a lot harder to get away with male nudity waist down, regardless. "P It male nudity waist down is harder to get away with, regardless, how come Dragon Age Inquisition had naked Dorian butt during his romance? I mean in that it is harder to get away with because they have to avoid... uh... the hard part. Look, if y'all want butts so badly, you clearly have access to the internet. |

@develiam about Jaal: Well, I probably already said too much lol. Let's just say that it was just speculation with my close friend who knows someone who knows it for sure.. But I don't want any trouble becasue of this really, I can just say that while we will have more romances than before, nudity and sex scenes will be more of ME3 level than DAI especially for male/male, but this only applies to what she knows so far, and she don't know about ALL of the romances, so there is hope I guess.. Now a little specualtion from myself  I think we (bi/gay males) will have 3 options, 1 gay male romance with squad member, 1 bi guy for romance for both Sara and Scott (alien) and one gay romance with crew member. So I think squad will be bigger than 6 members (more like 7 or even 8?) I wish  |

A friend who was friendly with the devs told me that someone told HER before DAI launched that Blackwall was bi. Turns out that friend of a friend was obviously wrong. So you never know  There's a right precedence for daveliam though. But I do agree on not necessarily taking everything for granted, especially in regards of sex scenes, which could've been added or worked on later on. It does support in any case that Peebee is the bisexual romance, which was a safe bet in any case. That would lower a lot the change of Cora being bi. |

But I also very strongly agree with the "take with a grain of salt" vibe. There's a huge amount of unknowns at this point. What we know is just the tip of the iceberg. It could definitely get much better for many of us. Let's try to stay positive and also remember that, in the grander schemes, it's not all that serious. I'm also bummed at the prospect of seeing tamer m/m scenes since the original ME series was such a shit show for gay guys. I had hoped that they'd learned their lesson and move the needle a bit. But maybe they haven't and I still have to remember that Kaidan, tame romance scene and two games of unrequited pining and all, is still my favorite Bioware m/m romance. So there's a chance that Jaal, Reyes, and any other m/m options could be the future digital man of my dreams. Hold out hope, everyone! |

Feedback might help so that's why they wont confirm anything but tease to see how we react. Seems strange with Cullen since they stated he was straight as shown in the mage origin in DAO. Mass Effect in general has tons of cut content about straight LI with same gender Shep, but I think they're not related to their intentions of making them bi. Man, this is a lot of speculation to read through, lol. Good luck to the devs keeping everything under wraps. My predictions, at this point are:
Liam - straight
Cora - straight
Peebee - bi, obviously
Jaal - bi
Vetra - gay, maybe
Drack - not a romance
that way everyone is happy, assuming Reyes is a m/m option as well. I can't see them limiting the f/m options for straight/bi women to Liam since they got such blowback for Femshep's terrible f/m romance options in ME3.
and I know I'm late on this, but I honestly think the biggest obstacle for Drack being a LI, aside from being a Krogan, is Scott and Sara's age. Yeah, Blackwall was older too, but the Inquisitor could be anywhere from mid-twenties to their forties probably. You could easily play an Inquisitor who wasn't that much younger than him because our backgrounds were relatively vague. Scott and Sara are canonically in their early 20's, I believe, and Drack is described as a grizzled veteran "even by krogan standards" which makes me think he's pretty damn old, not just in years but in terms of his relative lifespan. I mean, I'm down with a May/December romance but we're probably skirting February/December here, and I just don't know if Bioware would go for that on top of the whole krogan issue. Not exactly broad appeal. |

Hey all. Now that a bunch of information has dropped, I feel totally comfortable sharing this information with you all. I've shared it privately with some people on the forum already, so it's not new to some of you. As some of you know, I have a very good friend who works in the industry . She always get to see some game footage in advance and she knows what a fan I am of Bioware games, so she always tries to remember some details about companions and romances when she can. A few weeks ago, she got to see some ME: A footage and she reached out to me to share.
When DA: I came out, I did this same thing, where I shared with a few people in a private message and everything that she shared (including the including of "with great respect" line and the inclusion of real nudity) were accurate, so I'm totally confident that what she shared with me is accurate again. I only asked her about romance/sex information for now, but I can probably get more information later. Many of you might remember this from back then.
So here's what she saw for romances:
She saw three different scenes. There was a male/female scene, a female/female scene, and a male/male scene. Default Scott/Sara were used in all of the scenes. There were two LI's shown.
The male-female scene and the female/female scene both were with Pee Bee. She first described her as a "sexy blue alien lady" but then I showed her a picture of Pee Bee and she said that it was definitely her because she recognized the distinctive black eye stripe. In these scenes, there was nudity (breasts and butt for both Pee Bee and Sara and butt only with Scott).
The male-male scene was with a human male. She described him as "brownish, but not black -- maybe latino or arabic -- face scruff, a high and tight haircut, and an average body". There was no nudity in this scene. There's romance dialogue, a fade-to-black, and then they wake up in bed shirtless together (so kind of like the Kaidan scenes in ME3, I'd guess). I described Liam to her (british accent, black guy, "cool hair") and she said it was definitely not him. Not sure who this guy is, but I feel pretty sure that he's not Liam. I've been speculating that it might be Reyes?
So, combined with this new information, I think it's safe to say that this is what we know: Scott - Cora, Pee Bee, Reyes?
Sara - Pee Bee
And we know that Jaal is available to at least one sibling.
If I had to fill in the holes, I'd say this:
Scott - Cora, Pee Bee, Jaal, Reyes
Sara - Pee Bee, Jaal, Liam (most likely), a lesbian (Vetra maybe?) I remember you from the old bsn(I remember the Sera thread being super hyped from the info you gave me to share with them), nice to see you made it to the new one and are still doing God's work by giving us romance info, lol. |

I'm not too disappointed about the lack of M/M nudity (a little disappointed, but not too much), I'm more disappointed at the idea that Liam might not be an option for Scott.  My hopes for bringing Scott and Liam to the battlefield while flirting with each other and danger are becoming a fleeting dream... |
