I voted Fen'harel and would have voted the Arishok if I had an additional vote. I am fond of most of the antagonists, though.

This guy right here.
I like Loghain and Calpernia as characters, too. I don't think we've experienced Fen'Harel enough as an actual antagonist to really say one way or the other... maybe in the next game.

I like villains where it's not really clear right off the bat as to who is in the wrong. Where they actually do have a point in why they do what they're doing. It's a tricky balance, making them sympathetic but aiming to do something that the protagonist cannot side with them on. Antagonists like Solas makes for a complicated set of emotions because we've seen him capable of showing compassion and respect for the majority of the game before we find out the harm he caused.

I pick Solas.
1) You spent an entire game with him as your companion. If you like him then this will make it more difficult and conflicting to fight him. "I don't want to kill you Solas. You're my friend!" Drama, tear jerking drama.
Or if you hate him then it takes your fight against him to a more personal level, as you never got to spend much time with Loghain to have any true personal dislike before he became your antagonist. The majority of antagonist are pretty much "that guy we have to stop," not very personal, but for people who hate Solas, he is "That fucking asshole I'm going kick the shit out. Fuck him, he's such a dick!"
2) He's not really doing this for himself, or for his power. He is doing it for his people. He is a ruthless idealist. A well intention extremist. That's far more interesting then Cory. Also, unlike Loghain, who at best, saw what he was doing as protecting his country from Orlias, which may be more of paranoid concern then genuine threat. The elves do face constant abuse and oppression everyday. The problem is a real one and not delusional one.
3) That is why, as an elf fan, a fan of the underdog, this is going to be hard. I don't want to fight against them, but I also can't allow them to continue their plan. We are fighting against the underdog and that's painful to do.

Major antagonists are probably the biggest shortcoming that the Dragon Age series as a whole suffers from, in my opinion. There aren't too many enemies that are really inspiring. Loghain's a great character, but he's a bit shallow during his time opposing the Warden. It's only after joining that you really get the fleshing out of his character that makes him compelling. Similarly, Fen'harel was interesting while he was on the Inquisitor's side, and their former alliance makes him compelling from a "personal" standpoint, but I see no way he can serve as a driving force in a future game without just feeling like Corfishystix rehashed. The Architect's role was too small, and Meredith, despite being the final boss in DA2, isn't necessarily in an "antagonistic" role (heck, she's more of an ally if anything, for certain Hawkes).
I guess as I whittle down the list, I'd have to put it between Alexius or the Arishok. The former is more compelling, but suffers a bit due to the fact that he's a bit player (and in some playthroughs, won't appear at all, stupid Mages-or-Templars mutually exclusive choice). The Arishok has a bigger role in the story, but I feel like still spends too much time just kind of being a side character compared with time for him and Hawke to really build up a rivalry.
I think I'm gonna have to go Arishok, though, just because it's close between them, but Arishok's got that impressive baritone.

As we've learned from the Garrus romance, you can win hearts over with the power of a well-honed voice...

Funny story about that. Last summer, my friend and I went up to stay at a family ranch house near a little town about 400 people. Despite the size, they have a pretty nice community theater up there, and we saw a show of an Noel Coward piece, Private Lives. Wasserman was in the show, although I didn't realize anything more than "hmmm, that name sounds familiar" until I actually looked it up and my jaw pretty much hit the ground. Suffice to say, he's not exactly the Arishok in real life (though his comedy chops are quite good too, I learned!).

For your first point; my character were friends with Solas but i choose to kill him because it doesn't seem possible to talk him out of destroying the world "Drop 'em and rebuild the empire" . I thought same about Loghain but after reading The Stolen Throne his motivations seemed more gray than any other antagonist.

None of the other antagonists compare. I can rant about Solas enough to make people think I hate his guts, but I actually love him to pieces. And still want to kick the elfy elf out of him. But lovingly, though! Lovingly grab him and shake him, and yell until he understands exactly how impossibly unethical this is and how it's not justified. Yet, I still want to find a way to give him what he wants, just, y'know... WITHOUT destroying everything my protagonists have ever known, preferably. But at the same time, I can write the devil's advocate script in my own head. What did I do when I found a bad future (In Hushed Whispers)? I erased it by going back in time....Shit. This is going to be a hard argument. Whoever did In Hushed Whispers was a goddamned genius.

(and fen'harel is leading right now) it doesn't matter, your assumption that no one would vote for howe, is just that, an assumption. he was a good antagonist, he wasn't just an arse, he was a propper one. and the fact most people vote for him doesn't change the fact he is not an antagonist, people think he might be in the next game, but we don't actually know that *shrugs* so yeah, my point (both of them) still stands.

I've choosen Fen'Harel as he isn't a 'normal' antanogist. I really liked him (my love ), but I know many do not. It doesn't change the fact that he isn't just like Corypheus, who wants to destroy the whole world (ugh... he sorta wants, but in THAT way). He was our friend (or at least a companion, a good support, the man who despite someone can dislike him, contributed to the whole Inquisition i.e. by showing us the Skyhold). He also isn't a real 'black' character, we know that as he was our companion, we know that from the real history about Fen'Harel. And this is also a personal choice, as he is my canon's lover, she's really concerned, she wants to save him even if she knows, he wants to tear apart the whole world they both know. She wants to protect both the world and Solas. Hope she'll find an alternative. Save Solas, the elves and the world.

Definitely the Arishok. I just love that character! Although my canon always earns his respect and gives him Isabela. I wish there were more conversations with the Arishok, interacting with him was some of my favorite time spent with the game. I suppose Loghain is my favorite villain overall. I would rather team up with the Arishok, even if I don't agree with their treatment of mages.
Honorable mention to Nightmare (for being a better villain than Corypheus, and a cunning, invasive, mental force).
