Anyone else experiencing a lot of bugs as of late? Yesterday I played the game for a couple of hours with some friends but there were just so many bugs that it actually started to tilt me a little.
In one match I threw a biotic grenade on a group of three players (including a Roadhog). I heard the grenade exploding, I saw the visuals, but I also died at that exact moment. Therefore, the Grenade despawned and nothing actually happened to the enemies. The roadhog then proceeded to heal himself and kill my teammates. In another instance I was playing Bastion in mystery heroes. A Mei was attempting to freeze me so I quickly went into turret mode. At my screen I was in turret mode already (I actually fired my gun for a split second) but the Mei killed me, as a full health bastion, anyway. I thought that was impossible, but in the killcam I saw that I was still in recon mode on his screen, so he just made two headshots to finish me off! I also lost a game in overtime thanks to a bug. I was Reaper on attack and I was literally walking in the payload so that we wouldn't lose. Out of nowhere the Overtime bar expired anyway and we lost. Even though I was at that exact moment standing still on top of the payload. All these things can't be lag related. I have 9ms ping when I play Overwatch. These are just stupid bugs and nothing feels more unfair than losing a game because of one.
This, next to the fact that I only have 1 dance emote and 0 skins after 23 anniversary lootboxes are slowly sucking the fun out of the game for me lately. Hopefully the new PTR changes breathe some new life in the game soon. (Reaper is strong again, hell yeah). Probably going to continue playing the game anyway but ranting about something once in a while feels good.

I ask because I lost my first two but they were both really close. Anyway, one was Nepal, final score 2-3. We had this one obnoxious guys who's mic was way too loud and mocked anyone that asked him to lower the volume while he shouted a live commentary of his performance the whole time, ugh. Then I did one on Dorado where I swear their widow was using hacks, I just cannot believe those snap headshots were pure skill. It ended up coming down to the wire for a draw, but they managed to get us after the payload was stuck two feet from the goal for a full minute on overtime.

Placements only matter the first time you do them. The game will then place you looking at a combination of your wins and individual skill. For all future placements, the game will mostly look to your 'hidden skill level'. Or hidden MMR or something. (Forgot the name, it's late here.  ) That's a rating the game gives you based on a lot of invisible factors, and it's seperate from your SR. It's actually where the game feels like you belong, regardless of your actual SR. I went 1-9 in Season 3 placements but I placed at exactly the same ranking as I started in season 2: 2600. I'm now going 3-0 but will probably still end in low-mid plat, regardless of what my other games will look like. All thanks to this hidden system which is based on results from previous seasons. A friend of mine, who is at rougly the same skill level as I am, got to Masters last season. But I was busy with work so I couldn't tag along. Hopefully this season I will reach diamond/master as well. We stomp guys from those tiers all the time when we group up, but when I play solo or with another friend, who is mid gold, I always end up with throwers and leavers. I really think I should be in Diamond at least but my hidden rating, leftover from my noob days in season 1 and 2, is really screwing me over. So if it's your first placement session, bring your A game. |

My smurf was Plat but got placed at Gold whereas my main account is Diamond and got placed at Diamond. And while I don't care about the meta, dear sweet fuck I forgot how retarded team comps get at Gold. Oh it's the same in Diamond at the end of the season. Had misfortune of encountering few too many trolls in one day end ended up dropping from Master near the end of the season. The amount of comps with no tank/healer were astounding. People just don't seem to give a toss with 1-2 weeks left in a season. Primary focus is to ruin the games for others. |

I've done two placement matches so far and already I've come across several teammates whom were allergic to competence, such as a buffoon of a reinhardt charging into the middle of the entire enemy team and getting himself killed when we were defending on point A on Hollywood. Needless to say, I lost that match.

I can't speak for Bronze but I have a smurf at Silver and I noticed two things:
1. No one plays healers
2. They're so ridiculously easy to hook that my hook accuracy is sitting around 80%
Suffice to say as soon as I got my friend out of that SR, I completely ditched that account.
