Can companions in Awakening wear armor from Origins if you bring it with you? I never bothered playing Awakening before and i wanted to know if they can before i drag all of this armor with me.

Yeah, you can use most of the loot from DAO in DAA.
The only thing is that stuff equipped on your companions in DAO won't be in your inventory when you import the save, so make sure you strip whatever from the companion for the save you import if you want it in DAA.

When I finish origins, I go to camp, strip the companions, dress them inappropriately (Sten in a chantry robe for example) and sell stuff to Bodahn. There isn't much in origins that's worth bringing forward to Awakening, but what there is, I do (Deep mushrooms from Ruck, mostly and the butterfly sword for Oghren). I then save and use that save for the transfer to Awakening. What you need in Awakening is cash, and that's the simplest way to make sure you have plenty of it.
