I'd embrace eternity so hard The design is very cool but it reminds me way too much of a Final Fantasy character. A lot of the alien LI's have been skirting that space elf line as it is.

All they ever complain about is accidentally flirting with a guy and screaming FOUL. haha I've seen them complain more about the bad models and animation and how Cora isn't that attractive but yes go on. In the end, you wouldn't probably find it very pleasurable if a female character suddenly found your kindness to be an act of flirtation.

In the end, you wouldn't probably find it very pleasurable if a female character suddenly found your kindness to be an act of flirtation. You must never have played SWTOR. The straight romances are thrown down your throat. For your Jedi consular, your padawan is barely an adult and she marries you after three ambiguous flirts and just being nice to her. As for the straight ones complaining, I didn't mean now because, yes, all they care about are animations and Cora looking not to their standards. I meant in the past... with Kaiden, Dorian, Bull... as if there wasn't warning with the flirt options. They have always acted as if they had some gay-scare.

Worst case senario is we will see Gil by 16th. Unless for some stupid reason he, Suvi, Kallo & Lexi don't join the Tempest till say, 3/4 into the game, I say it's pretty granted they will be right there on the ship from start and anyone will be able to meet them during Origin Access We definitley won't have to wait till 21st/23rd Yeah, I am willing to bet money that we will see Gil and Suvi via the Early Access. You have ten hours to play the game and there is no way they'll cut it off before meeting the crew of the Tempest. Lexi we know we'll see since she is literally the first face we'll see(other than our own and our sibling and father in the CC) in the game according to Bioware.

Wait people were surprised when you flirted with Iron Bull and he took you up on it? Hell I was just thankful he finally did...most of the flirts even after being in a relationship are ignored by the big lummox.

I guess the heart icon isn't explicit enough for the lowest common denominator. Maybe they need to change all m/m flirt dialogues to a flashing red sentence saying 'I'M TRYING TO GET YOU TO FUCK MY ASS'.

asari is to be kind of gender-neutral; their faces strike me as not overly feminine, especially if they're looking at you head on. But that's obviously just my personal interpretation of the species. I see them as anything but gender-neutral. From dancing on poles, voices, clothes, strip clubs, boobs, everything. They're really really NOT gender neutral, and definitely not in the dev team's mind. Sigh. I've had this conversation many times, but... in this instance I was talking about their features, as I was also commenting on the features of the male asari fan art. I personally see the features of the asari as fairly gender neutral. Here for example... If you ignore the boob armor (ugh) I feel like her appearance is fairly gender neutral. Obviously folks can disagree about how much or how little because it's purely subjective. As for the pole-dancing, et al, people love to bring that up, and I totally get it, but I don't have a problem with asari choosing to pole dance because not all asari choose to pole-dance. Some asari choose to become scientists like Liara; others join merc groups like the young asari talking to her salarian friend on Ilium. Just like humans, they make choices. As for how they are presented... the asari start out as sexy space babes but become more gender neutral throughout the trilogy (rightfully so). In ME1 most are wearing sexy dresses, but by the time we get to ME3 we see asari wearing a variety of clothing choices. They are voiced by female voice actors, but some make an effort to pitch their voices lower (like Liara's father). They have breasts because they presumably nurse their young. Of course, the breasts were there initially for sex appeal for the straight male gamer, but it's not the sort of thing you could just do away with from game to game. EDIT: Here's another I always felt looked fairly androgynous:

In the end, you wouldn't probably find it very pleasurable if a female character suddenly found your kindness to be an act of flirtation. Oh you mean like I literally had to NOT talk to Liara and Ash in ME1 and no female in ME2 because it was otherwise almost impossible to avoid the hetero romances? And then they add a male that kind of sort of almost barely maybe flirts with a male pc and oh boy, that's a big nono and totally gay agenda down their throat... You are trying to point out that maybe peope like that have a reason or maybe the whole thing is not so cut and dry. Problem is they have no reason, it's just homophobic ignorance and hysteria at the slightest sign a male has flirted with them. And no, comparing the complaints about Cora's face or whatever (or Cassandra's looks for that matter) with the "Anders/Kaidan almost jumped me - they're so predatory" mantras (parroted over and over and over and over and over and over again... and then again) does not work. They're 2 different issues. So while you trying to be the devil's advocate might have some merit, you're kind of comparing apples and oranges with some issues.

Oh and I would just like to point out that dancing on poles is NOT female exclusive Sure, ain't, but how many shirtless Drell shaking their asses in strip clubs you saw in Mass Effect? ME1/ME2 devs made the typical straight man's fantasy playground and denying it and saying Asari were designed in any way to appeal to gay men is just nonsense, c'mon, you know it, I know it, everyone knows it. The screens you posted may sorta look androgynous, but most of it comes from lack of long hair (traditional trait seen as feminine/womanly) and the crap quality of generic NPC faces in ME Trilogy using Unreal Engine 3. They were a race designed to tittilate straight men, there's really zero doubt about it.

I don't know what else to say except that I humbly ask you to read my post again. I did. And expanding their roles from pure sex babes to sex babes who also rule the galaxy still doesn't make them androgynous just because we see some of them in war armor/uniforms. They all still have womanly bodies, womanly voices, they refer to themselves as women etc sorry. Salarians are a different story but even they have clear distinction between male and female voices despite looking near identical (bodies-wise)

This is becoming hurtful on account of my own identity so I'll leave off it. It's all good. Don't mean to offend anyone. My main point is the intention of developers. Would be great if they made very androgynous alien race, I just don't think Asari were ever considered by them in such light despite the fact they should be from the perspective of their mono-gendered biology

Somehow I'm guessing if there was a mono-gendered male species it'd be super slim dudes that were restricted to one very small section of a planet tucked squarely off the main pathway. Though I'd love to see some sexi male aliens that are primarily into guys-the way Asari seem to mostly be into women.
