I do think ME:A will be a great game, but the more I see and hear from these past couple months, the more I believe that this game was simply not ready to be released this soon. Which is crazy to think about since it's been 5 years. Remember this shit back in November? www.pushsquare.com/news/2016/11/ea_not_against_delaying_mass_effect_andromeda_againI think it's safe to say that was probably a bunch of bullshit. March is the end of the fiscal year for EA, so I have no doubt they wanted this game released before then. We're 2-3 weeks from release right now, and they're still showing off unpolished footage. I mean they actually let the press play an early buggier version of the game. How in the hell is that suppose to help market your game, when Previews are constantly mentioning the weird facial animations and bugs? Not to mention they just cancelled the MP Beta, which leads me to believe that either there's problems with the MP, or there's still so many bugs in the game that they need the extra resources to iron the game out. One of the devs said that they've done enough testing with the MP to feel confident about it, but even if he were telling the truth, that's not the same as having a full blown stress test with thousands and thousands of players online. I have no doubt there's going to be MP issues at launch. The Early Access for the game starts on the 16th of March, which probably means either reviewers are gonna be playing the pre-patched version, or Bioware will have to get the Day 1 Patch even earlier than the 16th. Good fucking luck with that. You don't have to be a fan, a hater, or anything, to see clear as day that this whole thing has been a mess. It's like they're a bunch of college students, loading up on energy drinks and doing last minute studying for an exam the night before.

yeha, i think the launch is going to be a mess, someones going to get pissed whether its the SP or MP people. Preferably latter tough, id rather take a complete single player over working MP, if they have to close that off for a couple of weeks/month while they iron it out, so be it.

They're going to rely on the day one patch to fix what would've been included on disc had they pushed the game to April.
People hardest hit will be those buying physical and are going to skip everything but the initial install so that they can play the game ASAP and not have to deal with servers, everyone else will probably be fine. I expect multiplayer to be broken at launch, though.

I wouldnt mind a delay if it meant a better game. Even if we have say 95% of the game done by the projected launch time and they think its fine, waiting a month for the extra 5% to me is pretty well worth it. they gotta pay for that extra month of work and they're betting the 5% wont lose them that amount in sales. someone else said something about fiscal years, idk about all that but there it is. they might try to ruin the 5% by recouping the loss with overpriced dlcs. If its just a matter of time, waiting, I'd like the 5%...
edit: they might have 100% game ready and none of this has real warrant in which case bring it on. still i wouldn't mind waiting for 105% of a game, unless overdoing it becomes bad, I'm patient.

More than likely, but I don't think single player will have any significant issues. Facial animations and guns glued to hands aside, nothing major. Multiplayer on the other hand, will probably have most of the jank.

Honestly, I think some of you need to take a couple Xanax and stay offline or avoid MEA news until release day. All this anxiety can't possibly be healthy.

Yeah, no.
If EA was willing to delay it again, and they didn't, it says a lot.
Meltdowns near launch, love it.

The game's ready to go. The best thing for it will be to get it out in the wild and let bioware fix what they can and need to in patches.

I don't think it's going to be as bad as some people think. I read the Youtube comments on that 17 minute video and it was so confusing because it felt like all those people had played the game already. I am so certain that I will get so much enjoyable gameplay out of single player and multiplayer, Bioware has never disappointed me.

They should delay it by a year. I'm serious. There are great games coming out, and unless ME:A is insanely good, I think I'll pass until things get ironed out. I usually buy games for the multiplayer (like I did for DAI), but I'm not confident in MEAMP at all.

If people are really on the fence about getting, don't. Wait awhile and read reviews. Not just IGN or those kind of reviewers. Find out from some of the people here that have played it. I'm sure you'll hear how great/awful it was and you can decide to pay full price or wait.

I would say, at most, the MP will have some issues at launch, but other than that I imagine the game is ready to go. Despite this trailer, it is important to note that EA recently invited many members of the gaming press to come and play 3-5 hours of the single player, and every one of their impressions that I have seen thus far from that invite have been very positive.

Yeah, maybe delaying by a month or so so we could get the day one patch fixes on disc might've been a good idea, but I don't mind really.
Remember, the press had very positive things to say, minus the facial animations and Bioware games have always had facial animation problems.
The multiplayer is almost a non-factor for me personally. I know that's not true for everyone else, and I'm sorry for those people. I play ME for the single-player so as long as that's good, I'll be fine.

I honestly don't believe the roll-out is going to be that bad. Should the game have been delayed? Maybe by about a month. From following the devs on Twitter it has been pretty obvious that it has been nose to the grindstone for the past two to three months, and given an extra month they might have been a little bit happier with their lives, however I am confident the game will release well. Nothing I saw in the IGN 17 minute gameplay demo had me worried. I really liked all of it. The combat looked good, I could see where I would make different choices with weapon layout and powers, and I thought the banter and the dialogue were great. Where they Oscar-winning? No, of course not. We didn't get to see the cinematic conversations because they left them out to avoid spoilers, and so we obviously were not going to see the best of the conversations. I think when it gets to those moments, the dialogue will be very good. I enjoyed the voice actors and the graphics and pretty much everything. I don't think the multiplayer closed-beta cancellation is a big deal. It was, after all, a closed beta, and so I think the EA early access will be more telling than what the beta would have done anyway, so they will still have a bit to patch any glitches or bugs. It's not like ME3MP didn't have any glitches (I'm looking at you, missleglitcher), and I'm pretty sure that one is still not patched anyway. That never stopped me from putting hundreds of hours loving the crap out of that multiplayer. I honestly think that people are just looking too deep at things. It would be interesting to see if the development for Horizon Zero Dawn or The Witcher 3 were as open as the Bioware devs and we were given close looks at what they were doing along the way if people would have been as reserved about those games as this one.
Well, lets be honest here. Some Bioware fans, the loud ones especially, can suck and be very vocal about any deviation from the sacred OT (minus the endings because people hoped on that hate bandwagon faster than the Bieber hate train). People didn't like DAI, mostly (I think) for the fairly empty open world and many many many fetch quests. I think if DAI had never occurred people would not be as critical of MEA so far. "It looks like DAI in space!" What does that even mean? It looks like it has a lot of fetch quests? I don't know how anyone could know that. It looks like it has a forgettable villain? I don't even think we knew the villain of ME1 before we played it really. I just think, overall, MEA gets unfair scrutiny. The people who got to play 2-3 hours of MEA LOVED it!! Sure, they said there were some bugs and facial animations could be a bit off, but overall they thought it was wonderful. Combat was great, many said that it felt like a true-to-form great Bioware story, great characters, etc. That's what the people who played the game thought. But I'm sure everyone nitpicking in their infinite wisdom from 17 minutes of edited gameplay and some trailers and gameplay shorts knows better than people who held the controller/KB+M in their hands and actually played the damn game, right? FFS. Will the game have bugs at launch? Almost certainly. Will their be glitches? Of course. Does this mean the game is horrible and the worst thing to happen ever? No. It doesn't even mean it'll be a bad game! Or mediocre! It can be an amazing game with all of these things. TW3 is often hailed here as the end-all be-all of RPG's.
"The Witcher 3 launched this week, with CD Projekt Red opening up the gates of its intimidating, huge open world. Despite an extended period of bug stomping and a day one patch, it’s not just monsters that plague the Northern Kingdoms; there are plenty of bugs as well."-PCGamesn
"Despite the developer’s best efforts, The Witcher 3 problems continue to plague PC, PS4 and Xbox One users."-GottaBeMobile
"Despite a general outpouring of praise for CD Projekt Red's ambitious RPG, many gamers are reporting a myriad of bugs and glitches. You can see a summary of those complaints at The Games Cabin: One bug is especially nasty and won't even let you start playing; after the cinematic intro, players encounter an endless loading screen. Even rebooting doesn't seem to fix the issue." - PSXextreme
So lets just settle down. There will be bugs, and people on here will say "I told you so, it's horrible!", but that's just what happens during a AAA title release. They'll get sorted out, and I think it'll be an amazing game.
