Odd Jobs ~ Val Royeaux: 9:46 Dragon (In Progress)

"My boss, Martin Goodman one of the most famous Tavern owners in all of Thedas is heavily in debt AGAIN!" Willis rolled his eyes.

"So in an to get out of debt he struck a deal with his old Templar friend: Give him some lyrium in exchange for the coin that he was going to use to pay off some of it. So he sends me because he's doing something "important" and I go to the slums and it turns out he's that crazy Red Templar who captured you and me and the lyrium was actually Red Lyrium!"

Willis shook his head.

"Martin is deep shit right now if he's dealing with Red Templars. But I don't think he knows, but I'm going to question him."

"Woah Sine!" Willis said unfortunately being remind that sine is a blood mage "I know the man, he can make idiotic decisions but he's a good man and a good source of income."

Willis stared at Sine, from the short time they've know each other Willis observed that she is not afraid of doing unsavory things. Not that Willis hasn't done the same.

"Just..... don't do anything hasty. Sine." Willis said "Let me do the talking, come on we gotta go."

Willis smiled "You look cute when your flustered." as she led Sine to Martin's house.

Willis began to knock on Martin's door. "Hey Martin open up we gotta talk!" He said trying to hide the anger in his voice.

There was no response, but the door was open Willis entered hoping that Sine was right behind him. Inside Martin's apartment was huge with statues of Orlesian knights and other expensive decorations around the place. Willis headed to the mini-bar full and took a bottle of Antivan Brandy poured in two cups. He then headed to the couch and sat down beginning to drink the alcholic beverage.

"Want some Brandy Sine?" Willis offered.

Just then Martin arrived from his room, looking disheveled. "Willis!" He yawned, "Did you get the gold."

"No I didn't." Willis spat, "In fact I nearly got turned into fucking Red Lyrium!"

"What!" Martin shouted.

"Yeah that "lyrium" you gave turned out to be fucking red lyrium. Your friend captured me and tried to use my body as a way to mine lyrium!"

Martin was flabbergasted, from there Willis could tell that he didn't know about it. "I-I, Kenneth I should've known." He moaned.

"All right you didn't know about him going crazy, why the fuck are handling red lyrium?" Willis questioned.

Martin wasn't looking at Willis but rather at Sine. "Willis who's this?"

"She was captured along side me and she helped me escape." Willis said. "I'm sure she can introduce herself."

"Oh I thought she was your girlfriend or something."

"This is fucking serious!" Willis said bewildered standing up and looking Martin straight in the eye "I nearly died trying to pay off your fucking debt."

"I'm sorry Willis!" Martin said desperately "Kenneth wanted me to give him lyrium, I just got it today and didn't bother to open it."

Martin slumped in the couch, burying his face in his hands.

Willis sighed "Well if it makes you feel better, Kenneth won't be a problem any more and we have a new employee." Willis pointed to Sine.

Martin looked at Sine and snorted "Great another person to pay! So what do you do?"

After Sine's answer, Martin took Willis' glass of Brandy and chugged the drink down his throat. "I fucked up Willis!"

"Well yeah you nearly got me killed for the 500th time." Willis said sarcastically.

"Oh shut up!" Martin spat. "I've spent 20 years in the Tavern and party business and overcame everyone! Lords, rivals! Everyone! And I fucked up!"

Martin was absolutely fuming with anger and it got Willis a little concerned watching Martin pace back and forth around the apartment. "I'm the most successful Tavern owner in all of Thedas and I'm about to lose everything!"

"Come on Martin......" Willis said gently.

"I don't know if it's the boyfriend! Or the economy or the fucking lyrium dust or the powdered dust which I'm definitely not inhaling! But man I really fucked up!"

Martin began to whine for a little while bit. "I've made the deal with the devil Willis!"

Willis shook his head, but tried to remain calm. "We can overcome this, you've been through worse."

"I'm such an idiot Willis!! Martin walked past Willis and sat down next to Sine. "Sure but this time I've never been this fucked before!"

Martin "You are a good person, you helped me hone it my Spirit Warrior abilities. You are a fighter." Willis said

It was mostly fluff, but he needed Martin to have a clear head.

Ignoring Willis, Martin stared at Sine still sizing the Elf up. "I sold my business to two different people who have different visions on how they want it. We're fucked!"

"We'll show us the way, Sine and I will take care of them." Willis said boldly.

"It's not going that simple Willis!" Martin shouted "They are not nice people and they are lot of them and right now you and me have to play nice with one of them so they don't have to send it hit squads on our Taverns!"

"We'll be okay!" Willis said "Right Sine?" The Rivani stared at Sine hoping that she'll be encouraging.

"Whatever!" Martin said getting up and heading towards the exit "Come on Willis and you too ermmm, Sine If you wanna help this is your chance. Willis are you sure that Sine is not your girlfriend."

"Martin shut up!" Willis growled.

"Follow me!" Martin said as soon as Willis and Sine exited, as they were walking Willis stared at Sine. "You still got my dagger? Keep it. I'd suggest keeping the magic to a minimum, not that Martin doesn't mind magic it's the other people around us. Hold on your to that dagger."

"So Martin." Willis said turning to his boss "What are we doing?"

"Like I said before, we need to keep our benefactor happy. His name Elric: Antivan who's in the drug trade, but runs a legitimate shipping business as a cover up."
Martin replied.

"Heard of him." Willis said: "A young man a little older than me, son of a drug lord also a highly arrogant and racist piece of shit."

"Exactly!" Martin shook his head. "One of the things that I enjoy about growing old is that I get ordered around by the young!"

"You mean it's one of the joys of borrowing coin and not being able of paying it back?" Willis asked.

"He can take my coin, put a knife in my throat but If I'm caught in bed with him, then my ass is going to be hanged!" Martin said throwing up his arms like always does when he's distressed.

"I've always heard that Elric an insecure ass but I never knew he rolled like that." Willis said "Hey Sine! What do you know about Elric?"

"Oh what does she know?!" Martin said agitated, taking a quick glance at the Elf's attire Martin raised an eyebrow. "Your clothing is very odd to say the least, where did you get such rags?"

"The girl just went through a traumatizing with Templars, and you're acting like an asshole." Willis growled.

Martin sighed "Listen sweetheart, I'm sorry I'm just....... jumpy today."

Martin led Willis and Sine out of Val Royneux and after a 30 minute walk they arrived at an old Colosseum.

"Come on he's in here." Martin said as he entered.

(OOC: Feel free to make up some history about Elric if you want Morrigan.)

"Hello Elric! How are ya?" Martin said.

"Nice of you to bring street rats in my presence!" Elric laughed. Willis noticed that the man was holding a slingshot and to right lied a minitable with a bucket that was filled with rocks.

Elric pointed at Willis and Sine "Their stench, especially the Elf has permeated the air! I can't stand it!"

Ignoring the insults Willis attempted to talk to Elric. "Hey, Elric you've invested in the wrong Taverns, might I suggest herbalism. Might be closer your..... tastes."

Elric ignored Willis, as he took the slingshot, grabbed a rock from the bucket and began aiming at someone. "Oh I'm sorry, I don't speak street rat, I'm going have to ask my maid to translate it for me!" He laughed.

Willis shook his head. "Hey Sine, how the hell did you deal with him?" He asked the skinny Elf.

Already annoyed at the situation Martin spoke up. "Elric what do you need."

Elric was still lining his shot at someone. "I need you to get some information from my business rival who has overinflated ego. These assholes, they're thinking that this is the Blessed Age."

"Where is he?" Willis asked.

"Right-over-there." Elric launched his rock across from the owners box, the rock flew all the way to the horse tracks narrowly missing a fat balding man wearing a fancy green tunic and blue trousers. "FUCK!" Elric shouted obviously disappointed that he missed. Willis chuckled at his misfortune.

"You missed me bitch!" The man yelled "You fucking suck!"

"Big man! HUH?!?!" Elric shouted from afar. Turning to Willis, Elric handed him the slingshot. "I'm going to go down there and talk to him. You hit him with the rocks when I say so. You think you can handle that street rat?"

"Whatever." Willis huffed.

Elric exited as Willis turned to Sine "So who was your friend? To the point where you had to go to an asshole like him?" Willis asked as he got himself in position.

Morrigan

"Hey!" Willis whispered "I said if anything goes bad, I'll protect you! I won't let any harm come to you all right?" Willis briefly put his hand on Sine's bony shoulder.

Looking ahead at Elric who just arrived, Sine asked "What is he doing?"

"Interrogation." Willis sighed. "Some rival of his and I'm supposed to use this slingshot as "persuasion."

"All right Willis!" Elric yelled. "Let it fly!"

Willis growled, took a rock and aimed. "This is stupid Sine." He said.

"We're keeping our most important investor happy!" Martin said nervously. "Just fire already!"

Willis obeyed and fired, the rock hit the rival on his bald head. "FUCK!" He yelled as his head started to bleed.

"OHHHHH!" Elric yelled "You're going to tell me who's holding out!"

"There's a guy in the city of Squandor's Peak!" The man shouted "He's the guy who's holding it up!"

"You got more than that!" Elric snorted "I know it!"

Staring at Willis Elric gave him the heads to fire again.

"You know Sine, maybe when this is over let's you and me head out somewhere." Willis whispered as he took a rock aimed. 

Despite barely knowing Sine, Willis just didn't want to abandon her. She was nearly killed by Red Templars and he had a feeling that the Cheavalier did kill them all. Besides, It would be nice to have some company after traveling alone for a while.

"Focus Willis." Martin said.

Willis fired this time the rock hit the man's groin. "You BITCH!" The man cried as Elric laughed maniacally.

"Gimme the rest of the names you piece of shit!" Elric growled.

"All right already!" The man said "There's a man named John Dustin who works with the transport workers. He's getting gold off of the other guys!"

"So you got those two guys....." Elric mused and gave Willis permission to fire again.

"Sine, what do you say?" Willis asked "You and me on an adventure somewhere away from this crazy place?" as he took a rock and fired again.

The rock landed hard on the man's throat. "Shit!" He coughed out.

"Yes!" Elric said with glee. "That's not it, you and me BOTH know that's not it!"

"You ASSHOLE!" the fat man shouted "The head of the merchant guild is in with Francois! There's no way you're getting those contracts!"

Elric put on a satisfied smile and gave the thumbs up to Willis.

"I guess we're done here." He said.

Willis smiled back "Good, it'll be nice to have to stay away from it all for once.... We could go to Nevarra." Willis then noticed Sine looking distressed. "What's wrong Sine?" Willis asked.

On the horse racing track. Elric was pacing around the fat man as though he was a predator stalking his prey. "In a few minutes, my protection will arrive and you guys are screwed!" The man shouted.

Elric laughed though this did not last long as a few seconds later a swarm of armored men and women closed in Elric and the merchant. "FUCK GET DOWN HERE STREET RATS!" Elric yelled.

Willis and Martin witnessed the whole thing "I don't want to think about the trouble we'll be in if Elric dies. Willis, Sine! Help him!" Martin ordered wit a twinge of fear in his voice.

He didn't really want to do it. But Willis needed to if he wanted to stay alive. Taking out his Saber Willis sprinted downstairs, "follow me Sine!" He shouted.

One by one the mercenaries fell to Willis. From the corner of his eye he saw Elric fighting off mercy as well. Willis felt tempted to go in his sprit warrior form but so far hes been doing a good job of holding them back.

"Help me!" The fat merchant shouted as Willis clashed swords against the thugs.

Willis managed to kill one solider then another until he felt a sharp pain in his back a mercenary slashed him in the back. Willis cried out in pain as he decapitated the merc in retaliation. However it was an opportune moment for one of the thugs to stab him in the abdomen. Willis was on his knee he was wounded and surrounded. He concentrated and was about to go into sprit form but just then rage demons came from out of nowhere and ripped the nerds apart. Willis mouth demons here? He turned around and saw Sine her face pale. This was her doing apparaently and maybe she felt guilty. Willis gave Sine a huge grin and a thumbs up for saving him.

Unfortunately Elric witnesed Sine use her magic.

"So you're an maleficar elf?" He said with glee killing the last mercenary.

Elric moved towards the elf "I should shackle you up and sent to the gallows!" He said but Willis ran in front of Sine protecting the Elf "you touch her you die!" He growled.

Elric smiled "I should but that just means she won't be useful." Turning to Martin he said: "this doesn't make us even! You haven't made a dent in the interest!"

Martin looked disheartened but not surprised. "Now I have to do the dirty work myself."

"No!" Cried the merchant "I told you all I know!"

Willis and the others exited the colleseum. "Get some rest and heal up." Martin said to Willis. We got more work tomorrow.

Willis nodded as Martin left. Willis nearly collapsed from blood loss "Sine could you heal me please?" He asked.

Willis blushed a bit when Sine hugged him. He could tell that she was tired and angry at Elric the red templars pretty much everyone. Sine quickly retracted out of embarrassment perhaps? But Willis hugged her back. "It's all right Sine thank you." Willis said softly "no one is going to hurt you anymore understand that? Come on let's get to my place."

A few hours later, Willis arrived at Dead Mans port located next to the harbor of cal royneux. It was decent if unspectacular inn. It had your usual drunks but the food is at least good. "Hey Sine want some dinner?" Willis asked

Willis ordered some soup for both him and Sine. While they waited Willis noticed that Sine was without his dagger. "Done did you lose your dagger?" He asked while reached his back pocket for another dagger.

"When you're on the job always carry a spare" he grinned as he offered Sine the dagger.

The waitress delivered the food and Willis began eating with gusto. "So Sine" Willis said "Tell me a little about yourself where did you come from and all that."
