Because silly me wrote this in wrong thread, here's copy/paste. I did not finished trial fully yet, as content I need is still being downloaded. But I got everything done until you get to Tempest. While I have a lot to positive to say, I have to do these negatives impressions first: 1. Character Creator is much more limited then in ME trilogy. While there are new things I greatly appreciate, there were a lot more things lost in CC we had before like other hair, facial hair and eyebrows selections. 2. No manual saving during Priority Missions is just unnerving. I needed to re-do many side things because more then once as I died constantly. Combat takes quite a bit to get used to, removing manual saves is just pointlessly punishing for prologue alone. Let alone future emissions. 3. No quick save option. Why? It really is annoying I need to constantly manual save as I'm always paranoid if my game crashing. After little bit of delay, here are my positives. 1. Facial animations on custom Ryder look great. I was quite shocked to see my custom Ryder be so life like and emotional. 2. In-game cinematics are amazing. I honestly never believed Mass Effect will get to the point of having huge areas just for amazing in-game cinematics that we get to see in prologue. 3. Combat is very good, fluid and challenging. It will take a while for me to get used to new combat system, especially since I started off on Insanity. But so far, I'm really enjoying what we're getting. 4. Dialogue options are lovely. I really like how many options I'm getting to RP my Ryder, despite auto-dialogues being frequent. 5. Sounds and graphics are magnificent. 6. Soundtrack is good, although nothing iconic like in ME trilogy so far. 7. Story and writing is much better then I expected, for a prologue that is.

I just can't seem to get into this game, I feel I'm just doing "busy" work with all the scanning and resource collecting and constantly switching between each one to make sure I'm not missing anything important.
Plus I got the Nomad and within 2 minutes it got stuck on a low rock cropping and nothing (boosting or jumping) could dislodge it.
I just don't feel I'm making any real progress and I'm wasting my time.

From what I've played so far I like it, i have no major complaints other than how unfortunately limited the CC is ( but I trust...no hope that a fix will be under way shortly). However, I'm having a strange graphical issue (?); I restarted with a new Sara, I wasn't too fond of the face I made last night, but during the introduction some gasping audio could be heard underneath the narration and then once my character was taken to the medbay, the spot she sits in was taken up by another npc (one that is met later in the prologue). Also the conversation with said npc was out of place. Hopefully this was just a onetime occurrence but nevertheless it was odd that a new character would end up having conversation that my initial character should have been having due to her place within the game thus far. It seems like a weird game file issue.

I've only played multiplayer for a couple hours, so that's all I can comment on. - Love the jetpacks, really enjoy the verticality of the maps. Combat feels a lot more fluid.
- Wasn't sure about the automated cover when I first heard about it, but it really works quite well.
- Strong dislike that my sensitivity changes when I am sprinting, standing still, or aiming down the sights. Is there a way to make the sensitivity ratio stay the same with console commands / config settings?
- Also noticed that my sensitivity fluctuates possibly depending on my fps? Occasionally I'll move my mouse, and it will move my cursor about 2x further than I expected. Usually seems to be when my fps is dropping.
- Skill cooldowns feel much too high. Could be because my characters are too low of a level, but I feel like even when I'm trying to make a "caster", I spend most of my time using my guns anyways. I feel like the capability to choose to be skill-focused gave ME3 a ton of additional replayability.

Starting the single player game, I will say that the CC isn't as great as I was hoping for, but that the vast majority of the complaints about it are overblown, to me. I can still make a decent looking Ryder and twin.
The one real thing that I will say annoys me is that you can't make your hair and facial hair different colors. Blue hair and a blue beard looks weird. Blue hair and a black beard looks better.

I'll join the chorus of people saying that the character creator is.... problematic. It feels a bit limited. The environments look terrific, there is so much otherworldly beauty to roll around in. It's a delight.
Multiplayer matches have been sometimes laggy, sometimes not. Even when not, sometimes the enemies rubber band around when moving or shot. I'm wondering if a remedy for this would be to host my own matches? Otherwise, the gameplay itself feels great.

I'm back after playing a few more hours. Positives: The storyline so far - While a bit abrupt in the beginning, I enjoyed it nevertheless. It had a bit of a sense of urgency that worked well for me at least. I really enjoy Alec's character, the others reactions/opinions of him. I look forward to being able to play more of the story. - Characters: Every companion I had the chance to meet and interact with, even in the brief time I played, I seriously enjoyed. Even characters I wasn't sure about or had no opinion coming in surprised me in a very good way. So much so, I am reconsidering who I want to romance! Thanks for making it hard. - The Dialogue is lovely, I liked the quality of the voice acting, and I like the new tone system. I forgot what meant what at one point xD But it was fun anyway. (mostly the two different swirly options.. casual and professional? xD) - Combat is surprisingly fun, and I am not a huge combat person. I enjoyed it and didn't mind stopping to fight enemies, even when it wasn't exactly necessary to move forward. That jump pack is freaking fun! Though I whoops once or twice xD - Graphics and sound are very good. I liked the music. I also found the visuals and design of the Tempest/Nexus/Hyperion and planets to be very well done. Visually very pleasing. - In-game cinematics are amazing. And the animations are pretty good, much better than I had expected. I didn't have any issues with my Ryder's expressions in the game and enjoyed watching the cut-scenes etc. Negatives: - The crafting. This isn't exactly just Andromeda either. I am just not a crafting/gathering ingredients person and can see this element quickly growing tiresome for me. I'd prefer to quest for awesome gear xD or buy it. But like with ME2 and the planet scanning bit, I'll likely suck it up and do it anyway to get the pretties I want. xD I need my pretties and fancy upgrades. - The Nomad - It's alright, but I hated the mako xD I am such a crappy driver with these things, that likely plays a part. But not my favorite aspect. - While I like the scanning tool, I kinda feel like it's a bit too much sometimes. - CC - Limitations on the faces, I can understand not being able to switch through several noses or eye-shapes, or that being not possible to add at this point. But, I really would love to have the chance to adjust the current eye shape a little, or mouth or nose etc. Oh, and complexions! I love freckles xD - This isn't so much a negative as an unsure. The exploration - I didn't do a ton of that yet, my concern with open world games that allow you to go wherever and do a bunch of little things is it takes away from the bigger stuff - such as storyline. One of the aspects I loathed about DAI - So, while I do like a bit more openness, I am waiting to get a real for this aspect once I get my hands on the full game. Anyway, overall impression: Very impressed and eager to play through the entire game and really explore and investigate it all. It feels like Mass Effect to me, and that was important. I wanted it to feel like ME, but still have its own vibe and I think it does. So far.

Ok, where to start I love the jetpack and the sidestep. But WHY OH WHY can't we reassign buttons, or powers? Having 1 ability on LB+RB is so annoying! Honestly I'd sacrifice the shoulder swap to get that power back on Y. Also 7 waves is a bit short, but the first 3 in me3 weren't that challenging anyway so it'll grow on me. Equipment of teammates is shown only with icons, which is (now) a bit annoying cuz nobody knows what they mean yet.
We did have multiple host disconnects on the start of extractions, without any obvious reason. Rejoining doesn't prevent the match xp reset. Losing that xp is annoying, and unnecessary. Me3 kept your xp if you got back into the match, so PLEASE fix that. (I realize you're not actually devs but you might convince them)
And YaY! Bronze is challenging again!

-I am liking the storyline, as much as we got to play that is. The worlds we got to see are very well done and beautiful to look at.
-I do NOT like the NOMAD, it's harder to control and I don't like that it does not climb, the whole getting stuck halfway up a slope is annoying. -Some characters I spoke to seem to freeze in position and only their eyes move, their heads too but only slightly.
-Character creation is woefully lacking in customization. The presets are not that great to begin with which only gets worse knowing I cannot tweak and fine tune them. My character was perpetually in shock with eyes wider than they should be and the skins all make them look like they have grubby faces. The makeup options are horrible. Most of they eyeshadows looked like tattoos and I still can't get a dark shade, it's either way too light or hardly there and the hair options are not that good either, yay for hair that moves but the textures look off, some of the lighter colours are just to light for the skintones (even with the skintone set to lightest).

Alright from continuing from my last time of playing, space travel is absolutely fantastic, especially the level of detail through traveling and stuff which is particularly amazing, my jaw literally dropped when I first watched the tempest going from planet to planet, and you guys weren't lying when you said you could see the planets out the window.
In addition I like the new method of scanning and it's fun to discover information without spending hours scanning for resources, so thank you for improving upon ME2's and ME3's design!
The tempest is sleek and smooth, the design is absolutely beautiful and I love the lack of loading times, it definitely feels larger than the Normandy, probably due to the overall immersion portion of it.
Sadly due to my sensitivities to motion sickness I do suffer from the effects of the tempest moving from planet to planet if I listen to the movement and watch it. Thankfully just watching it doesn't seem to affect me though which is nice because I can still enjoy all the effort that you put into the traveling portion of the game.
I am very impressed with the game, still have yet to use the nomad but I love everything I've played so far!

My take: THE JETPACK. I'LL JETPACK MY WAY THROUGH THIS GAME. I haven't finished my 10 hours yet, but so far it's been awesome! I love that everyone in the game seems to have something to say. Like warning me not to fall off a cliff.
I do miss the quicksave, though.
The one minor bug I encountered while playing on PC (Windows 7 64 bit):
When I'm first told to use the scanner, I pressed G and the scanner appeared and disappeared in a blink. Couldn't really get it to work, thought it was a problem with my keyboard. I had to quit and restart the game for it to work. (I'll also add that my download wasn't finished by the time that happened).

I'm currently still on the first planet. Here are some very early impressions. Good- Audio is incredible on my 5.1 setup. (Edit: Levels in rear channels are too low. Has to be fixed.)
- Combat feels very similar to the trilogy.
- Fryda Wolff seems like a perfect fit for the role.
- Menu shortcuts are back. No idea why they got rid of those in ME2 and ME3.
Bad- Lack of quicksave
- Lack of manual save (what's that about?)
- Motion blur is off the damn charts. Needs its own setting in the options.
- Bad performance on a Radeon R9 390, even with yesterday's driver. I have to lower settings to medium to keep a consistent 60fps at 1080p. (Edit: Getting severe framedrops even medium) Low CPU usage, so it's definitely the GPU that's holding me back. I had better framerates in Battlefield 1 on ultra when playing at 1800p.
- FOV slider needs numbered values. It's very inconvenient to just eyeball it.
- Facial expressions are kinda awkward in some scenes.
- 'Hold E to interact'. I'd rather just press it. I don't see the benefit of having to hold it. It's just annoying.
Mostly nitpicks so far, but they add up. I hope these can be fixed.

So I played for 8 1/2 hours (just scratched the surface barely and have already a lot of impressions so here is my list of things I noticed, liked and possible suggestions for the little things. I will add/change things with wandering through the rest hours.) Overall I must say I had really fun, I took my time to notice & appreciate little things and I'm really fond of what I experienced so far. Lots of grammar butchering ahead so attention please in that regard because I'll write full throttle in weird and awkward accent I hope a few understand xD. I'll put my points into a spoiler bracket because I wrote half a novel >.<. + Loved the intro. The soundtrack was very relaxing in calm situations and builds up in tense situations. It helped to underline the Mass Effecty feel. It never stroke me as annoying, unfitting or too dominant. It was kind of subtle all the time and well composed. But it missed a certain kind of catchyness the old soundtrack had. + The pacing of the story telling is pleasant, you are not too overwhelmed with action and the game takes its time to start. Like a lot of other people in the thread already pointed out "It is Mass Effect, but in a different way." And I liked that. It felt fresh. + Really liked the VAs work. They managed to give their respective character a lot of personality. The banter and dialogue between the different characters is always interesting & more lighthearted than in the triology (but not in a bad or annoying way I must add). But fear not - you have emotional/darker scenes as well so there is a good balance of moods. + You have a ton of dialogue choices. Ryder didn't remind me that much of the (boring) Inquisitor from DA:I, she had quite more personality & depth in her dialogue. Though the majority of choices were two, they were very different in tone and consequence. I always had the feeling that my reactions mattered more to the people around me and that I have a solid amount of possibilities to shape my Ryder between a more passionate personality or a more practical one/a more casual one & a more resigned one. The 4 different choices inbetween managed to loosen up certain situations and helped to transport a feeling of "This choice seem to matter more than you think". +Lots of banter while you have company. Liam and Cora had a lot to talk about while they were around me to the point I thought "Now I really want to have a short conversation break". Ryders banter fits well and I had a lot of situations where I had to giggle or laugh (on the Hyperion floors, on the Nexus, on Habitat 7). I liked that a lot of NPCs had their own name and a distinct design and banter as well. The camera zooms in in such situations (not direct facecam, but better than in DA:I, which I liked). A lot of them played a role later (for example in optional mission goals that popped up while exploring Habitat 7). So you learned a bit about them. They added nice touches to the main goal - I like such side missions. Another thing I liked how you can get sidemissions - stroll on the Nexus, something happens, you go into conversation and in the end you have to fly to another planet to solve some kind of crime. It is always optional, you don't have to do those quests if you don't want. No creep-shep like fetch quest detected so far either. +The exploration is fun. And doesn't feel boring, tedious or like "I have to do this now". You can just say "Nah, this cave doesn't interest me, Liam - off we go." Or you can say "I really want to scan every stone, animal and metal I find." Which I did thanks to my completionist syndrome. And it was so cool to find little things like Datapads, plants or hidden omnious machines etc. that I otherwise would have never detected. +The jetpack is a nice addition to the overall movement. I needed a bit time to adjust to that (glitched a few times over a cliff because I didn't see the deep dark crater of emptyness next to it or stumbled/jumped right into a big mobb of opponents who shoot me to rubble straight away ) but it is a lot of fun to climb on mountains, cliffsides & steep walls or avoid bullets. +Loved the scanning. I will scan every inch of this game (playtime: 300 hours - 250 just scanning). I can understand though that some of you will ditch the feature because it can be not so interesting for people who don't like lore and just want to rush through the story. Another plus: sometimes you scan things that open up new quest lines out of the blue. + Loved the combat - very smooth. I charged like butter through all opponents. Felt fast at home. The AI was clunky here and there (Liam & Cora stood a lot without cover in a bullet storm or in poisened water and took their time to do what I told them to). I have to adjust to the missing pause function though. It is kind of chaotic for me at times on the battlefield and I have to really concentrate to understand what's going on and to get an overview. I tend to forget auto cover, as well so I died a good amount of times because I enjoyed my charge & omnitool too much and didn't notice the missing shield protection or my low HP . +Crafting is varied and the armors have some nice styles. Lots of guns to craft, too. What I missed was something like a sorting function by rarerity or type because of the huge numbers of blueprints the menu seems a bit messy and it'll get a bit tedious to search for the blueprint you want to craft. Lots of blueprints you have to find. Found a Talon Pistol with quite nice damage output for a lvl 1 gun oO (in an area that surprised me). + Got a young Jackie Chan brother and a grizzled old Daniel Dae Kim father by pure luck xD Kind of liked that +The characters are all well written, have interesting personalities and they all have meaning in a way (some small, some big). Can't wait for full release to learn more about them. They were (at least for me) really likeable - even sidemission NPCs. + Holstering weapons is back + Aliens have their own language + love the Tempest interior and that you can run through it without any loading screens + the new "Send Striketeam"- function in the multiplayer is very helpfull for me. My PC is one step under minimal requirements so the game doesn't run smooth enough (graphic wise) to take part in the Multiplayer myself. Thanks to this feature though I have the possibilitiy to find Multiplayer items & getting the currency so I don't miss anything. My first Striketeam member is a krogan and he/she failed in just one mission so far. Gets a lot of nice things and huge amount of exp if the team succeeds. Downside: the Missions are pretty long, shortest takes like 2 1/2 hours realtime, the longest I saw 7 1/2 hours realtime. Kind of pretty long to wait for 1 Item & currency. Maybe someone who actually plays the multiplayer can tell me if they need 2 1/2 hours or longer in their matches to reach their goals. +/- planet scanning ME2/ME3 style is kind of back. It is a mix of both, I think. More ME3ish. You fly between the different planets (short cutscene style which is not interruptable - I think it is kind of a loading screen) . On some planets you'll get the notice, that there is an anomaly which you should scan if you want that ressource ("Probe away" is back - with Suvi as the voice, not EDI.) You might find something you were send out from the Nexus for a quest, too. Not all planets have something to find on though, a lot of them are just there to build up the exploration-% in respective system. So you just fly there, scan for 1 sec, looking on the planet and fly away. Some systems have anomalys besides their respective planets to find. I can't say if that scanning is for everyone and how tedious it will become mid - and endgame wise. +/- thought there were more casual clothings (because it was said there are tons of possibilities for mix and match). Had two casual clothings where I just could change the upper part and the tinting feature (which is a nice addition). Nothing else. Didn't like the designs that much either but that is just my personal opinion. A lot of people will like the designs, I'm pretty sure. So, now I ask myself if you can find casual clothing through blueprints for crafting or get more thanks to quests etc. And if you can change the trousers. - like most of the others said (and I understand that BW struggles with the engine and the face code for PapaRyder): The CC needs much work. Atm it feels really limiting. You are stuck with a preset face where you can't really change much. Doesn't make sense to upload characters either - there is so little distinction between them. The sliders don't change much. The genderlocked hair & the presetlocked skintones are another decision you might want to change. The quality of most preset faces is rather questionable (I think the asian ones are okay, but the rest ew). Ryder is 22 but a few of the presets look like end of 30s/40s or even 50s. The beards are not that appealing either. The style is like sprayed on (same goes for the "bald" hair style - looks like spray paint). Overall I liked the hair styles and the haircolors though - huge jump in the right direction compared to the DA:I hair styles or hair from the triology. Ponytails look like Ponytails (but I wished my ScottBro could have one as well ). Missed a nice bun hairstyle and something like two short or bound/braided (??) braids, too. I could have lived with preset generator 2017 if I had the possibility to work more with the eyes - changing eye corners, form of eyebrows (outer & inner lines) and the height of the eyes (make them smaller or bigger/wider). More variety in face structures would have been appreciated. Another point that I rather didn't like was the make up - it didn't even fit on my Ryder. The undereye-liner ended half on her cheek rather than under her eye and some of these make up thingys are interesting for fun purposes but not if you want to create a decent looking Ryder. Lipstick was weird, like bubbles on the lip. It has to be subtle, not Circus Clown color (and I really changed a lot in the colorwheel and opac - and always felt kinda off so I went without make up in the end.) - I noticed a lot of eyelid clipping in the dialogues with my DadRyder. He had a very asian like face and his lids clipped a lot into the eyes/pupils (although the eyelashes stayed in place so it was much weirder). Didn't notice that much animation faceglitching with my Ryder, but in a few scenes the lipsync was off (audio was faster than her mouth while speaking) or the audio stopped while someone talked so I had to use subtitles. Sometimes she had lots of eyemovement and I noticed on other characters quite the opposite - they had very fixated eyebrows, eyelids permanently open and such things. - Seriously why no save funtion in exploration phases/missions? It is rather tedious to know that you can die every minute because you don't know what is hidden behind the next corner... - though I really like the banter of my companions so far it is disturbing that their banter most of the time gets cut off (mostly thanks to my - in that regard - rude Ryder) while exploring. If I spot enemies I cut them off, if I scan something I cut them off, if I look into the sky and notice something I cut them off, if I jump over a pile of rubble and notice how steep it is I cut them off. Rather disappointing - I want to hear what Cora and Liam have to say :/. - the leg bending of the Salarians & Turians look kind of weird (like they are sitting on a chair while standing halfway. Did notice that especially while talking to Kandros & Jarun on the Nexus, but on Vetra as well. Don't know if it was some kind of design decision though, but I kind of miss the proud standing posture they had in the old triology. Like a bit of the other stuff it is just my personal opinion though. - Another thing I noticed is the lack of idle animations and gestures while talking with other npcs. So my Ryder & them appear more stiff or lifeless in conversations as a whole I think. Can be just my personal opinion though. Overall I must say - though I have a few critical points- they are not gamebreakingfor me. I enjoyed what I played so far and I will play the game on release to my hearts content. Most of the points were on the technical side and I'm sure there will be fixes for it in the future.

Hi there,
I've played up the end of the story bit and I've done a fair bit of the side missions.
So far, I'm really enjoying it, I like the characters, I'll probably enjoy them more when I don't have a 10 hour clock hanging over me so I can choose all the different options to get the backstory. I'm really intrigued by the main story and the mystery of other things. Don't want to get too specific really, but you really feel like Wow, I'm really on the forefront of exploration which is amazing.
The combat is really fun, I love using biotic powers. I basically just played as a soldier throughout the first games because I didn't want to get stuck with playing as a class I didn't like, so the new system is fantastic for that. I love the little combos you can do. That said, I don't really like the new cover system, I much prefer pressing a button to get into cover, rather than running up to a thing and hoping that it'll get me in cover. I died a couple of times because of it but maybe it's just something you have to get used to. The AI for the companions seemed a bit off, they didn't seem to use cover that much, they were just kinda standing next to the things they were shooting. It didn't seem to effect them that much, they seemed to take a lot of damage.
The nomad was fun to drive around in, I'm not really sure the point of the 6 wheel drive mode, it just seems like you've made it so it can't go up steep hills so we have to press another button instead of just making it able to go up the hills?
The game generally ran okay, I'm playing on Xbox one (Not the S version) and there were some graphical errors, like people would just pop in as I entered a room on the tempest, and the nomad would as well. I noticed that some doors would take like 15 seconds to open (or load the next room) which would happen really rarely in the first three games. The facial expressions were okay, it was really noticeable with some people, like Addison, that their face would just be blank with their mouth moving in a strange way.
Not sure what else there is, I'm probably missing something.

MP has been really enjoyable, definitely a step up from Mass effect 3. The new cover system takes some getting used to, but I find myself moving around the map quite a bit so it's not really an issue. I haven't played the story yet because I haven't made it past the character creator. Frankly, I'm disappointed, I was expecting something on the lines of DA:I CC. This is a major step back. I think I'll be able to create something that I like, but not something I'll be 100% satisfied with.

I wasn't too optimistic going into it, but I'm loving the game so far. Granted, I'm still to go to the first actual planet, I'm about 2 hours into SP and I just played my first Apex mission, but I'm happy with how the game's turned out.
I do agree with some of the criticism here, such as the CC and the facial animations, which are better than I'd expected them to be. I'm not too sure about the whole scanning aspect, this'll likely become a bit of a chore later on in the game. None of these are outright gamebreakers for me, however.
Overall though, combat is fluid and the graphics are beautiful even though my PC isn't the most powerful. Most importantly however, I agree with the comments saying that the game feels like Mass Effect.
Also, either MP is tougher than I'd expected, or I'm a lot worse a player than I thought.

Cons: - Limited CC (already been covered). - Lack of quick saves in prologue. (I'm sure there's a reason for it, but my kids kept calling me away and I was just trying to reach a save point so I could quit the game and not leave the timer running so it was frustrating. Probably not a problem after launch.)
Pros: - Jetpacks. Wow! (Me: "I wonder if I can fly over that void." Squadmate: "Not a good idea." Ha!) - Props to whoever designed the pivotal cinematic scenes. Emotional moments hitting me full on. There was one scene where I was swept up in the beauty of it all and then something came sharply in focus, bringing me back to the moment. Wonderfully done. - Really enjoying all the interactions.
My minor quibbles can be resolved when there isn't a 10 hour timer ticking away. Mostly trying to figure out how combat works, if the game can be paused so I can aim better, etc. Just small things like that. On the whole, it's been a positive experience so far.

I don't know if it was mentioned or if it is spoilery, but I keep getting e-mails concerning crewmates that I haven't recruited yet. That includes intercom banter as well. Ruins immersion really hard.

I would really like a music player on our omni tool to access that plays all the old sound tracks as background music while traveling or running around.
I would really like guns on the nomad in future updates. And more ground vehicles as the world seems a bit empty.
Need to play more to figure out more feed back

My biggest issue is the saving. The no save during main quest is baffling. I like to have a "rewatch later" save before big cinematics, important dialogues. I don't know if it was because the open-closed-tutorial area nature of the prologue, but I hope that quests in the open-world areas don't have this restriction. An even bigger issue (for me) was the total lack of the quicksave option. I constantly have a finger above the button, I feel safer that way, makes it easier to 'fix'/explore the conversation. With the manual saves (at least it's an option here) it's a long trip to the menus. It's a constant battle of having a manageable amount and overwriting the older ones. In short, not a fan of this. If it's something that can be patched it should be a priority.
The new galaxy map didn't make the best first impression. The 'you can see outside the window where you are' looks good, but the traveling and scanning has a few unnecessary steps since most planets just have one scanning point or nothing at all. A ME1-ish quick look would have been enough, or at least a reduced travel time/skip button.
Everything else is great though! I love how this feels like a Mass Effect game! A soft reboot-sort of remake of ME1, which was, is my favorite.
