Haters will bring it down. They always show up to vote their hate. Professional reviewers are usually pretty forgiving with Bioware games, just look at DAI. With MEA they seem more critical. They could make an example of this one to try and win credibility back, but then that would piss off EA so i'm not sure they will. Wouldn't it be nice if they were just honest and objective.

Well you do have a rictus grin all the time... Id say, in all honesty, it's going to be 80s somewhere, 85 probably is a good bet. Which is in line with what I figured it would be, between 75-85 average score. That is not a bad thing either.

80-84.
I've talked to a couple of people who are much further along in the game (reviewing), and they said it goes much deeper story and feels wise later on, sounds very promising.
I'm not sure the EA Access was a good idea, wrong part of the game to trial out: RPGs don't suit this piecemeal style of delivery IMO.

Like every game with a fanbase it will have a rather low / average rank for popular opinion.
Because one hateboy will always count as 10 fanboy when it comes to giving a "fair note".
So it will probably be 70-75 even if it the greatest game of all time. Professional review will probably give it something between 80 and 90.

A month ago I would have said no to that, but the game is very reminiscent to old BioWare, where the intros were really slow burns and felt a bit flat right out of the gate.

How weird is it, that we're living in a time where we're worried about the review score a Bioware game will get. Times have really changed.

Are you saying you think it'll get highs scores, or are you saying we shouldn't be worried because if it gets low scores, it's the will of the universe and we should find zen in that?

Scores in general are not worth getting hot over. Look, I got to review this game and give it a score as to what I think it's worth, but at the same time what I say about the game is more important, as is the overall experience we have. How we enjoy the game is ultimately subjective to all of us. It's why it won't matter much in the long run.

As far as critic scores it will probably be late eighties to low nineties. With user scores the hurr durr brigade will be out in full force review bombing out of spite. It will probably score in the 70s.

It means people actually read my reviews in large numbers then.

What do you think about that?...
Personally, I think that if "my face is tired" is the level of writing we can expect, then ME:A is a new low in terms of writing quality. I'm holding actual judgment until I actually play the game, but damn...
Yeah, and she happens to be the weakest link in the entire trial demo. I admit that as being a problem of course. Outside of her and some other readings, and Tann who is good and bad at the same time, id say it's pretty on par with Mass Effect in general personally. I will hold judgement too as I go through the game, I don't think it can get worse outside of the sarcasm not always being funny.

The first impressions a lot of critics have had so far are very mixed, and the bugs and bad animations is not something that'll get better over the course of the game. Even if the game's story gets better later on (which given the writing impressions I've had, it won't be by that much), all those animations and bugs are too awful to not take points off of the game for.

Professional critic previews have assured us it wont because theyre all critical to the point that this is the first time ive witnessed a bioware game being that shat on by critics before reviews. Just look at PC gamer and Giant Bomb. Even IGN isnt feeling it and they're always shilling bioware by giving them highscores. Its quite literally unprecedented.

A lot of people thinking it's gonna get high 80s or low 90s, is gonna be eating some serious crow on Monday. One thing's for sure, we're sure going to see a lot of "Critics opinions don't matter. It's MY opinion that counts!" Which I guess is true anyway.
If there's one positive you could take away from this, is that this might be a huge reality check to Bioware. They've been enjoying the luxury of getting their games in the 80s and low 90s for a very long time. That's probably part of why they thought they could get away with the game looking like ass with it's animations and bugs. If the game reviews are mediocre and sales are disappointing as a result, then one of the possible effects from that is that Bioware (at least their Edmonton studio), will take this shit a lot more seriously.
