On to other news: I've never seen Corypheus shoes (or socks) before but now I feel like a great opportunity was lost never being able to tell him to sashay away.

Considering Kennedy's oeuvre (dreams, surrealism, death, cults, cosmic horror, omens, prose etc) I sorta assumed he'd do something with the Fade. I could definitely see his brand of writing involved with Tevinter and blood magic and the Fade. I guess the same is true for the Mortalitasi but, frankly, I don't find them all that interesting. Kal-Sharok would be cool too. But if I saw storyboards and Tevinter's aesthetic was still like the examples we have I'd definitely call them the goth faction.

I have to agree that the alleged popular fashion in Tevinter being based on black in does make them appear very goth. It was one of the things I found disappointing when this was revealed about their culture because it seemed much too clichéd having the evil mage empire that favour black as a fashion choice. I was hoping for vibrant, exotic colours as befitted their northern location and lust for life (according to Dorian).

However, if Alexis Kennedy was to be believed, the goth faction was a group whose culture had not previously been fleshed out much. That is why we all assumed that Kal-Sharok dwarves were likely candidates. We have already been given a lot of information about Tevinter both in game, in novels/comics and the source books, so whilst it would need to be expanded upon if we were actually located there, it would be far more extensive than simply a goth mentality. The Mortalitasi have had a fair bit written about them as well so AK would be building on existing lore, which would restrict the scope to develop it in new ways. By contrast we know very little about Kal-Sharok dwarves so that would leave a fairly clean slate to take in whatever direction AK felt would be appropriate.

I'm glad Marc and the others stepped in and put their foot down, they did not have to but it created a sense of relief and I'm grateful they did.

As for what part Kennedy did I suspect, as others have mentioned, it's probably the Mortalitasi or some unknown little cult in Tevinter that's not really part of the main story but more of a bigger side-quest.

Why shoot down any hope for da4 news. How about softening the blow. There will be no da4 news however we are all in office working on something

No offense to bioware but the people teasing the new bethesda game actually seemed to be having fun. Would love to be teased
