The Old Guard (Ye Olde Cullen Thread v4.0 + gen discussion)

This is me. I love Tumblr, but I use it this very specific way. I don't go into the tags. I only follow awesome people who post awesome stuff that I love. I judiciously unfollow when I see dramaz, because NOPE. I look at my archive of posts and it makes me smile. 

The one thing I don't like is that's not at all conducive to discussion and in terms of information sharing is like a game of telephone in its ability to quickly spread misinformation. (I also don't like all the stuff that everyone has mentioned, which does happen, but I don't usually encounter any of that directly, by design). 

I like Sebris (Sebastian &  Fenris) quite lot, but sadly there isn't lot of stuff about them either. Some fanfics and some fanart, but nothing recently- I have seen everything already so I feel you with this.

But in other hand Cullrian (Cullen & Dorian) is very popular. It's pretty much most popular DA slash pairing and has tons of fanart and fanfics. I remember people starting to pair them up after reveal of chess scene- and it was quite surprising reveal before release, since everyone thought they wouldn't get along at all

You also smile when you look at your archive of posts? EEEE!!!    Same here. I just open tumblr on my phone and quickly scroll through my blog and smile. My main tumblr blog is a little bit of mess because I use it as a social bookmarking tool but most of what I keep there makes me happy.

I tried and failed (as did many others) to use tumblr as a discussion platform but it really doesn't work. Even if the game of telephone doesn't occur, it is just too hard to keep track of posts on tumblr and, frankly, I don't like the aesthetics of a blog that is a series of reblogs of the same post, where each reblog has another line of conversation. Personally -- and this is just my personal aesthetic -- I like to look at a blog where each post is its own unique thing rather than repeats of the same thing with more commentary. Plus, every time the tumblr devs change how their site works, it makes it harder and harder to follow a discussion. Plus -- and this is purely a personal issue -- tumblr really only "works" for people who sit in front of a computer screen for long hours which is something I do not do. Thus, for me, things move way too fast on tumblr for me to keep up and it doesn't have a mechanism for notify me via email when someone reblogs a post with new commentary underneath. I can keep up with slower moving social media like a forum or LiveJournal/Dreamwidth (or perhaps Imzy? tbd) and quickly check my phone to see updates, plus it is rare anyone expects me to answer RIGHT NOW whereas on tumblr there is a sense that people either need to use it very casually or use it Very Seriously, which is very time consuming so, no. Not possible for me/my life/my work.

So instead I am there for things like this:

I haven't watched the trailer yet, but yes, the first thing I saw was a meme of his butt...

Edit: I just watched it. And yeah, I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't seen the memes first, but, um, put a lot of effort into animating his butt, and amazingly lifelike it is

LOL Oh good. At least I'm not the only one. It was just very  . . . active.
