LOL Thing is... all I can think is, Samson wouldn't be shocked if he saw all the fic about him and Cullen on the kmeme...    The internet is dark and full of terrors indeed. I've seen some weird ass sh*t in regards to fan pairings myself.  Also, the hell, Aveline doesn't have her own fan thread here? Well, I don't ship Samson/Cullen, but I think it is a pairing as reasonable as any other. They have a history in DA2, and with Samson being an ex-templar, and the order meaning so much to Cullen, and them seeing one another again in DAI... there's a lot of angst potential there. I've also seen Samson x inquisitor. I'm just not into pairing shaming |

Well, I don't ship Samson/Cullen, but I think it is a pairing as reasonable as any other. They have a history in DA2, and with Samson being an ex-templar, and the order meaning so much to Cullen, and them seeing one another again in DAI... there's a lot of angst potential there. I've also seen Samson x inquisitor. I'm just not into pairing shaming I'm a broad hater when it comes to fanfic pairings, if the ship in question is not possible/likely in game then I refuse to read it. I especially hate pairings where folk ignore certain characters established sexual orientation just to fit their story e.g I've seen folk femslash Morrigan and Leliana or Sera with a male Inquisitor, no.  I'm very particular about what I read when it comes to fanfics. I tend to steer well clear of pairings that aren't even remotely plausible in game/go against the character's personality. I've tried to entertain one or two in the past but nope, didn't enjoy em at all. Other people seem to though, I've come across plenty of em out there. |

Besides, this is just a minor pet peeve of mine when it comes to fanfic land, it's not a hill worth dying for so I'll hush up now. Might have already annoyed some with this, whoops, opinions are like arseholes etc. |

The bottom left panel of that Cullen /Samson comic makes me laugh the most because Samson kinda has a look on his face like all of his darkest secret fantasies were about to come true. Only to have his dream crushed when Cullen clarifies. And the Aveline artwork at ToP is beautiful! |

If not Bull, I'd pair Dorian with Fenris and if I were to pair Cullen with a man, I'd go Knight Captain Rylen they seem to have a bit of a history. |

Getting anonymous tumblr messages about what a shitty excuse for a human being you are just because you happen to like two characters together kind of sours you to the whole experience. So yeah, I don't badmouth anyone's favorite pairings or characters. It's kind of funny because I moved from the Fenris thread ("He's an emo anime character!" "You're a weeaboo if you like him!") to the Cullen thread ("He's evil / hates mages!" "You're a Twilight-loving romance novel-reading housewife if you like him!") lol Good times. It's okay to say you don't LIKE something; for instance, I'm not a Dorian fan or a Carver fan. But it's when people take it a step further and start passing judgment on those who like said character/pairing that it gets to be problematic. For example, indicating that someone is weird / perverted / gross / etc. for liking a certain pairing. |
