Baldur's Gate 2 is the first game that had romances. Unmodded, the choices were: Jaheira, a half-elf that was your mentor in the first game, Aerie, an avariel (winged elf) who had her wings clipped off and is a lot like Merrill in a way, Viconia, a drow, who is very grating IMO, and Anomen, human male, who was very bigoted. Anomen was the only one romanceable by females and even then he was gated to elf, half-elf, and human. The 3 females were romanceable only by males. So yes, there's been progress.

It's on his wiki page. It doesn't tell how the parents died, just that they didn't survive.

AAAAAND, PHEW! DLC DOWNLOADED! I wonder how they'll deal with authentication of some of that material down the road. Will there even be a server to logon to? :sniff:

edit: altho, hmm, most (all?) of the dlc are now available to download from Origin, so we may be more ok than I realized.

Yeah, Lego Vivienne would've looked better with her fancy mage hat. I also would've preferred seeing Leliana in the armour from the DAO Sacred Ashes trailer.

Love the DA Lego! Agree that Viv should have her crazy hat. I'm sure she would say she's just as fabulous without it though. And I think it's funny how dreamy Alistair translates so... average as a Lego guy.   

Now I'm going to have to play with my kid's Legos today.

I had the banter bug, too. I think. But now that I'm finally doing my third playthrough... it still feels like they hardly talk. :shrug: It's probably mostly my imagination, as I think I'm too greedy for story, as I trek across the Hinterlands. and trek and trek and trek... But I know what you mean. It's almost like the game is new again, it's been so long. I'm strangely enjoying crafting for the first time.   Must be the Witcher rubbing off on me.
