I think that was the name of the quest, when he learns that he's named after a templar... Will he still become a templar if I don't finish that quest?

Yes, he become Templar, because 1. he's a defiant little bastard; 2. he wants to go out of his brother's shadow and find his own path; 3. Aveline doesn't give him a chance to become City Guard. (The quest is "Family History", "Family matters" is Varric's Bartrand-quest) |

I like Templar Carver. At least much better than dead Carver... Nothing tops Warden Carver! But the job depends on whether he goes to the Deep Roads or not, survives, and not on that FAMILY quest.
