53yo chiming in. My first game was in the early 80's on an Apple II, but I cannot remember what it was called. I really preferred playing pinball back then.
Didn't start gaming seriously until about 10 years ago. I think the late start had something to do with being in IT and looking at a computer screen all day.

True. But it can be countered by doing strength training. Not to make yourself look big, but to keep your muscle and bones strong. Today you see lots of older folks walking around their neignborhood, the shopping mall and parks. One of the biggest things is that it prevents injuries, at least minor ones. So true! I exercise 30 minutes a day. Cardio and strength training. 8 glasses of water a day and my wife's got me on a adjusted Paleo diet. Still have stupid aches and pains.  Watch your gluten (don't know if that's heavy in a paleo diet or not so forgive me). My doctor cites evidence of a link between that and joint pain. I cut my gluten drastically last fall and I rarely get joint pain now unless it's cold or damp. |

I know what you mean about the ship's doctor, actually I could never understand the attraction to any of the ship's crew.
