Just started BG2 and man did they do Khalid dirty. I really liked him as a companion 😢 If you are playing a male human/elf/half-elf/halfling you can do him even more dirty...his wife is a romance option.

Well that explains a lot...It also explains why Jaheria didn't seem that bothered and gave up on him fast

And when you consider Gorion wanted her and Khalid to be your guardians in the event of his death...

I'm more pissed off for what they did to Dynaheir. The best mage in the game... Also voiced by Jennifer Hale.

Well, you do have Mazzy that is voiced by Jennifer Hale in BG2, and I consider Edwin the best mage in the game, with Baeloth coming in a close second; those extra spell slots are great and Dynaheir loses alot of great spells due to her specialty. Dynaheir is the best good-aligned mage in the game though.

I like Edwin and I often take him with me but when I want to run a goody two shoes party, I'm a mage short in BG2. I only met Baeloth in SOD, and thought him annoying.

Baeloth appears in BGEE also, just he starts at lvl 6, I think you can get him only after you get to cloakwood. I rank him lower than Edwin because the later you can get earlier and he's more customizable. If you could get Baeloth earlier you could stack him with the most broken spells in BGEE and he would have the edge over Edwin.

Oh, that was a fun one! Did the creator ever fix it for ToB though? It was quite broken there when I used it.

It looks like Edwin romance mod is still updated so maybe? Latest update is from this year. I haven't tried it for years though.

completed Icewind dale + the dlc and returned to BG2 (icewind dale was a bit of a letdown honestly).
So far (between BG1, Icewind dale and BG2) BG2 is far an away the best game. There is far more life and intrigue to the game.
I restarted BG2 from the beginning, having abonded my first run. I've spent several hours playing, mostly doing side quests and I'm still on chapter 2. I was worried how I would make the 20k gold (15 now) to pay the shadow guild but after doing so many side quests I have around 160k gold so thats not a problem. I think im going to carry on until I run out of sidequests then proceed with the main story.
My only concern has been quite a few broken quests in which I either need to revert to an earlier save or potentially abondon the quest completely. For example I have a quest that says Nalia has been abducted and looking at the wiki it seems to be that her Fiance comes and takes her away from the group. The only problem is that he never showed up and this quest only activated when I went to the government district. It now says she is abducted but she's still in my party...Not sure if its even possible to progress this quest further?

That quest is supposed to trigger a certain amount of time after going to the Graveyard District to attend her father's funeral. Sure would be interesting to report her kidnapping while she's still in the group. definitely sounds like a glitch.

Yeah it's definitely a glitch because I attended the funeral and met her fiance who threatened my party. I can see the original quest which mentions this interaction is still up alongside the kidnapping. I'm wondering if I can somehow force the quest by simply breaking into his house? I know on PC there are ways to fix glitches like this but I don't think its possible on console

So I'm replaying BG1 right now with a Berserker that eventually is destined to dual-class to a druid. I'm playing with the NPC mod for BG1 that adds a lot of banter and conversations, along with romances. I'm somehow got roped into a romance with Branwen, decided to see what it's about. It feels extremely weird, as in the game her portrait depicts her as a middle-aged alcoholic woman, and her vanilla quips somewhat agree with that, and in the mod she's suddenly trying actively to seduce you.

Just bumped into the spectator again in the throne of bhaal, so glad I didn't kill him when I met him in BG2.
Legitimately one of the more interesting and amusing NPC's. Wish he could have been a companion

Finally finished BG2 and the throne of bhaal, that was a lot longer than I expected it would be! When I bought the BG1 + BG2 collection I was expecting maybe around 40 hours total, I feel like i've spent well over that just on BG2. Its been a good ride.
As much as I was disappointed at times with BG1 I feel the sequel made up for it with interesting companions and side quests (Still thought jon irenicus was a little weak character depth wise).
Still an enjoyable run, moving onto planescape and then Pillars. Hopefully by the time im done BG3 will be out

But from a storytelling perspective, you really can't beat Planescape: Torment.
